Typical KOA. Clean, friendly, level, smallish sites. Our site was out in the open and was easy to pull-thru. Wooded back in sites were available. While not a pool goer, the pool seemed quite small. Store had some essential food and supplies as well as good local info. They rented kid trikes and canoe on river with an on site playground. The park is located a few minutes off the highway, only 15 minutes to downtown Halifax, 45 minutes to Peggy's Cove and 90 minutes to Lunenburg. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Sites for larger units are are crowded, some with view of rental RV units parked through out campground. Narrow interior roads, some sites for smaller units or tents are better. All sites have sound from interstate. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Didn't make reservations as we drove back from Cape Breton. Found a good spot along the pull-thru sites. We stayed for 2 nights. This is our 3rd year coming to this location. While a little far from Halifax, still not a bad campground. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This campground was fine. They said they have wifi but that it's being repaired and would only work near the office. I didn't bother to try. There are several densely shaded sites near the office that look nice but most are for tents (no hookups). Avoid E8-E18 are they are just feet away from the dump station - ugh. Many sites are way off level. We got a spot at the end of the loop road - more open and less shade, and fairly level. Very busy on a summer weekend. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Clean well staffed great base camp, quiet, mostly wooded sites, also motor home rental on site, with the price of gas this is a plus, fly to Halifax and rent a motorhome. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Stayed here for 4 nights in RV section. One of the smaller KOA probably but quiet, clean, friendly service. Made a great basecamp to tour Halifax, Peggy's Cove, Mahone Bay & Lunenberg. Will return and use a basecamp when touring Annapolis Valley. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
