Someone stated that there are no showers here, but there ARE very nice shower houses and laundry rooms. The sites are not for super long campers, but nice all the same, all have pavement. We enjoy the small size of park, and the little local deli/carry out in Belle Valley is wonderful for groceries and beverages. There is also a guy who does BBQ in Belle Valley most weekends. It was delicious! Worth the cost and had large portions. There are a few water front sites, but there are NO electric at them. You can tie off your small fishing boat right at those few sites. There is a swiming beach but you need to drive to it. Family movies offered on weekends. Pets are allowed in certian areas. Gift and supplies store at the check in office. Has an ice machine on site (during office hours). Pit toilets, are what they are. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
The previous review from 2002 is still accurate. This park is ok for tents, pop-ups, and small (18ft and under) travel trailers. Very few long level sites. It is a class B campground with pit toilets, no showers, but a dump station is available. Very disappointing Ohio State Park. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This place is nice for the small campers and tents. But with our 30' TT and full size truck, There just wasn`t much room. The best site we could choose was very unlevel. I had to use 4 wheel drive low range in order to get the TT in place. The frame dragged real bad at the rear of the trailer. The pit latrine stunk all evening. The whole camp area was misserible. We ended up staying in the whole time and only stayed the one night.
We will not be going back, Not with a camper at least. We camped here in a camper.
If it weren`t for the pit latrines, I`d give it a strong 9. But my wife and little girl wouldn`t use them. They said the ladies room stunk and was rather dirty. ODNR patrols the grounds at least every couple hours day and night. They have been upgrading the electric at more sites. They are up to about 84 electric sites. For you pet owners (I`m not one), there is just one section maybe 50 sites (all electric). Nice lake with small beach 200 feet. For the boaters, only 9.9 hp or less. There is no septic at the hook up, but there is a dump station. We camped here in a camper.
