Not a good place to stay during the winter. We needed a place for our first night on a winter trip and to de-winterize our trailer so we choose this park due to it's location and winter availability. The water lines are not heated; instead they are buried and you must find and dig them out by hand yourself (not an easy project when arriving late at night). Spots are dirty and littered. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We were disappointed in the facilities at this campground. The bathrooms and showers were far from clean and in disrepair. The sites were VERY close together and concrete pads were chipped and broken. We do not recommend this campground and will never stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a four acre pay lake surrounded by campsites, right next to Route 32. The campsites are narrow, weed filled gravel strips. Barely room to open your awning if your neighbor has a slide-out. The pull-thru sites are on the north side of the lake and are the most popular. The back-in sites on the south side have little maneuvering room to get in, yet you are less likely to have next door neighbors so you'll have the illusion of a larger site and more privacy. Not all sites have fire rings and there are no shade trees worth mentioning. Road noise from the state highway tapers off a little bit at night, and roadside billboard lighting illuminates some of the back-in sites. Having said all of that, I would have given this campground a much lower rating if it were not for the excellent fishing, at extra cost, and other facilities. Bring some heavy tackle for the monster catfish, some of which are tagged for prizes. The grounds are clean, camp store is well stocked, and serves hot food. Surprisingly, they don't sell live bait. There is a fairly large playground with equipment in good condition. The pool is small but clean. Laundry facility was clean and everything seemed to be in working order. Restrooms okay, but mud in one of the shower stalls when I checked for this review. The campground also operates a petting zoo across the road, which is actually pretty large and has some exotic animals not found in the average petting zoo. Cost of admission is good for all day and also includes a ride on their little train and a round of mini golf. This place would be all right for an overnight stop, or a weekend trip for families or fishermen. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
