This is a good place to camp. It's plenty big enough if you have a large group that want to go camping together. If you don't have a boat, it can be difficult finding things to do here. It is predominantly lake involved. The lake has no hp limit, so you see all kinds of boats. The shower facilities are OK. They are older, but have always been clean. If you have horses, they have a huge area for campers and horse trailers. They have a lot of horse trails. Not our favorite place to go, but we will definitely go back. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
The rate of $15/night was a special rate for this particular weekend. The campground and the setting is beautiful. The roads are all paved, the sites are well marked. We had a back-in site and it was difficult to back in due to the amount of kids on bikes and adults just walking beside the trailer as we were trying to back it up. A little unnerving, and inconsiderate. Our area of the campground was very noisy. I thought it might be because of the low rate, but other people who have camped there have told us that the campground is always noisy. We like the park and campground, and will camp again, but during the week or in off-season. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Pleasant Hill is a place that I have mixed feelings about. If we feel like letting loose and having a few adult beverages, then it's fun. If we feel like relaxing in the peace and quiet and not exposing the kids to too much partying, then it's not the place to go. My parents have a seasonal site at Pleasant Hill, so we go there a couple of times a summer on our own and camp near their site. We always have a good time, but don't necessarily sit much while we're there, which can be good or bad. There's a lot of socializing and events. The roads are all paved, which is great for the kids riding their bikes. We always are there on holiday weekends and the place is packed. The park rangers are always driving around, so don't even think about breaking any rules. In section B, there are mostly seasonal sites, so you may feel like you're invading someone else's party if you camp there without knowing someone already. Stick to C or D if you're not wanting to feel like an outsider. The lake is beautiful with lots of speed boats and water skiing, which is fun to watch. If you're not into partying and socializing, maybe Pleasant Hill isn't the place for you. If you enjoy letting loose, then check it out. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
