Stayed for 2 weeks. Loved the park and the managers and work kampers were great. Lots of information available. Managers had made great improvements in the park. Large pull through sites. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Another reviewer seems to have mixed reviews on Presquille because of the fact that it is heavily wooded. People should take note that Presquille is a "Natural" provincial park and as such is this way quite intentionally. Not all RV'ers enjoy the sterile atmosphere of an RV park with paved roads and little forestry. For what it is, Presquille is one of the premiere camp grounds in the Ontario Provincial Park system and it's level of occupancy attests to it's popularity - if you want a site during the prime summer period, you'd best reserve! We typically visit Presquille at least 2 to 3 times per summer staying an average of 2 to 3 nights. Negatives are many low level sites - wet weather can unfortunately have negative effects on some campsites, but again, this is little different than almost any campground. Presquille is located in a naturally wet woodlands area and as such there are issues that come along with that. There is only one fresh water fill and dump station, but again, this is typical or almost all provincial parks. Extra large trailers (ball trailers in excess of 28' or Fifth Wheels in excess of 35') may have some problems navigating the roads in some of the campgrounds so it may be wise to stop at the main road and plan your entrance. Overall, we love it! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is Presqu'ile Provincial Park. We paid way too much for our non-prime electric site - about $34 a night for the campsite, $11.85 for the reservation fee, and $5.48 for the GST tax for our 3 night stay - for the jungle-like atmosphere we got. I can't remember when I've seen denser shade. The sites have privacy but the vegetation is out of control. The electric hookup for our site was ten feet into the jungle and shared with the neighboring site. There were no showers in the Trail's End section where we were. It was muggy and there were lots of mosquitoes. The best sites would be the prime ones directly on the lake which have a breeze to keep the bugs down and have more sun since they face south. Thank goodness we had only one light rain shower during our stay - a hard rain would have turned the place into a muddy swamp. There is a single dump station for the entire campground and only one water source to refill our tanks. This campground is really for tent, pop-up, and smaller trailer campers although there were a few smaller 5th wheels and motorhomes. It was very full for a weekend in late August so reserving in advance to get a site in the sun would be required. However, we won't be back. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Now this is a camp site. We pulled up unannounced without reservations for a one night stay on our way back home. We were able to rent a site with hydro for the night and since check out is 1400 gave us plenty of time to enjoy the almost full 2 days we were there. The kids 7 and 9 enjoyed swimming in the big lake Ontario waves and our site was big enough again to let me drive my truck and trailer around with ease. There was lots of shade as well as nice bike trails. The staff was great and tried what they could to accommodate us in the best location and they did a great job. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
