Campsites are in a natural wooded setting; most seemed spacious with trees in between for privacy. As nice as this is, I found the owner to be unfriendly with poor people skills. Perhaps this is why the campground was less than a quarter-full in the prime of summer, yet nearby Prov parks were at full capacity. If you want a campfire, you must pay $10/bundle of wood, as no outside wood of any kind is allowed. There is a fee to use the dump station if only staying a few nights. Could be a great place with some improvements to the facilities which are showing their age, and with a happier disposition from the owner. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Sites are large, shady, and reasonably level. There weren't too many folks here and the owner made an effort to put space between the campers. There were several families here, and the kids were having a ball riding bikes and playing putt-putt. There is a pool though we didn't use it so I can't comment on it. The Internet was surprisingly good - and no extra charge. There is, however, a $9 reservation fee, and they charge to use the dump station if you stay less than 3 nights. The gate is locked from 11pm to 8am. The owner is working really hard to make a go of this. There are still some shabby buildings and maintenance issues, but we would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We had originally tried to book Algonquin Park however they did not have sites available for our needs. When we found Algonquin Trails we figured that this would be a nice alternative. Suprisingly, despite high ratings, the park had few sites booked. When we contacted the park we specified the size of our unit and that we were looking for a pull-through with some privacy. We were told we were booking a "large" pull-through site. We were able to view the site online, however the picture makes the site look larger than actuality. When we put out the slide-out we were very close to small trees. Not too big an issue. However, we needed to find something to hold up some very big branches on the other side of the trailer in order to use our awning. The site is very sandy, but hey, this is camping! Our fire pit was not cleaned out and was extremely full of coals. We eventually scooped it all out and spread the coals over the ground, under some trees. The site states that they have an indoor pool. It is under a roof with plastic siding around it, however there are several large holes in the siding, meaning you will be bathing with mozzies. And there are a LOT of mosquitos here. The owners live on site and we met only the husband who was quite friendly. The kids playground is very old and run down, and there was a charge for the little mini-putt area, so we did not use it. The trails at the back of the park are very grown over and we turned back after a short distance. We did not have a bad stay, however we will not book here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
