This park is closer to Marathon. It is a jewell of the OPP system. We loved it and plan to visit it next year, another park close by would be Rainbow Falls but I would recommend the lake section past the main entrance west toward Thunder Bay. Lake front sites are the best, beautiful views and the best sunsets I've seen over the lake. We camped here in a Motorhome.
A very nice park, with sites right on Lake Superior, a hidden gem! Noisy at night, neighbors partying till after 1am. They have an interesting visitor's center and evening programs. It is worth the drive. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The previous review gave a good overview. I would add that at the east end of the long sandy beach (too cold for most people) there is a rocky point which makes for an interesting hike. On windy days with the waves crashing over the rocks you would think you were on the East Coast. Very nice park with good sites for large rigs in area 1. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Park is on a beautiful section of shoreline of Lake Superior, bounded on the west by the gorgeous Little Pic river. Sites in the A section have nice views of Superior and are mostly for larger rigs. Electric sites in the other loops are mostly good, but some sites are small. Most have good privacy, though. The only drawback to this park is that the cross-country railway runs along the border of the park and train noise can be heard occasionally. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.
