This is a nice park. They charge $16 on weekdays and $19 on weekends and you get water and 50 amp electricity. There are no large trees in the East campground which is for RVs so your satellite dishes will work fine. You park on asphalt and the spaces are nicely separated. There is a picnic table at each site as well as a fire pit. This brings up a point that some people should be aware of. People use this park as a "campground" so there is smoke from the campfires and people sit around drinking. They can get pretty noisy and stay up well after quiet hours. This is generally only a problem on weekends however. I would have rated this park a 10 if they had sewer connections at the site and if the park hosts or rangers had enforced quiet hours. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a real gem of a campground, located just 9 miles outside of Portland on Highway 224. It's a Clackamas County Park, one of 3 which have camping facilities. Barton has 2 separate campgrounds: one has been here for years and offers RV and tent camping, either on nicely maintained grass backed up to huge fir trees, or on dirt within some of those huge trees; the other is a new CG, with paved sites and is for RV's only. All sites have water and power hook-ups, and a dump station is at the park entrance. Both campgrounds have bathrooms and shower facilities. Since Portland seems to have a shortage of good RV places, this was a great find. Portland is only 10 minutes away, but you're in the country near the Clackamas River, with deer, quail, and a multitude of frogs in the 4 ponds in the upper campground. The mailing address of the park is in Boring, OR, but Barton is a tiny community which is several miles from Boring. Don't believe the directions in the Trailer Life Directory! Go to the website for correct directions. Rates are $12 Sunday through Thursday, and $16 on Friday and Saturday. We camped here in a Motorhome.
