Nothing negative! Clean sites and facilities, and knowledgable staff will point you anywhere you need to know about. The food in the campground cafe is cheap and good, and they aren't stuck to single recipes for the menu items. They have great coffee and lattes made to your liking. Quiet and good privacy. Great location. I stayed two different times for a total of about 3 weeks, and it was all good They warehouse your kids for a small fee even, and the kids seem to enjoy it! Glad we stumbled upon it! The Fred Meyer close by in Hammond sells rain gear! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Very nice park but terribly overpriced at $56 per night after a "resort fee" is added on. This includes free pancakes but we never made it down in time for the free pancakes. They have an awesome bouncy pillow which was lots of fun for the kids and adults. Wifi wasn't working when we were there. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

My reviews are from the perspective of a dad with lots of little kids. This place is what a KOA should always be. Lots for kids to do, clean park, helpful friendly staff. The rate reflects a utility site. There is no dump station, but there is a free one across the highway in the state park. The KOA features a mini-golf course, jump pillow, indoor pool, afternoon movies with free popcorn, and a free pancake breakfast. The owners obviously take pride in having a well maintained place. Locally, Seaside has a huge and beautiful beach and has a Santa Cruz feel to it. Astoria is nice, but a little run down, more for antiquing. The local area is rich with history as this is where Lewis and Clark's expedition reached the ocean in 1805. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. If the WI-FI ever worked, it would be a 10. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

A park full of kids, dust and campfires. 1/3 of the park is paved, the rest dusty with dying grass. Lots of activities for the kids. Park charges a $6.00 activity fee which is not optional even if you don't use the pool or "free" pancake breakfast. Internet is very poor and Verizon is weak. It looks like the families are enjoying the park and the "Kamping" experience. A pricey park for weekend young families but not for older RVers. Setting is quiet, park is controlled and spacing wide. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Great place if you are a 30something parent with a large family. Many activities for kids. Older folks used to nice accommodations will not enjoy this place. Virtually no sites are satellite friendly. Internet is quite slow. Cable is limited with no ESPN. Upper level sites are paved and suitable for non-towing class C motor homes or pick up trucks towing shorter trailers. Lower level is all dirt and gravel, but with a full arbor of shade trees. Check in is a real hoot...reminds me of an old black and white movie of a Chinese fire drill. The payroll at this park is substantial, but it appears as though the amount spent on training is minimal. All in all, my review is that this place is primitive and over priced. It would, however, qualify in the case of "any port in a storm" if I returned to Astoria and was desperate for a place to stay. We camped here in a Motorhome.

What a wonderful & large park. A lot for kids to do and very friendly staff. This KOA is located right across the street from Fort Stevens State Park and made for a nice central 'home' spot while we went sightseeing. Very dog friendly, too! We camped here in a Motorhome.

Across the street from Oregon state park: Fort Stevens which we could not get into. This is a Destination KOA so you are charged a RESORT fee ($6.00) on top of the normal rate that you can not drop. There are sites at the back of the park that are not good. Most sites are fine and if you have kids with you; they will have lots to do. We will not stay here in the future. Too $$$. Our rating could be higher if we were traveling with kids. We camped here in a Motorhome.

A nice park with very accommodating staff. Conveniently located to Astoria area attractions. Free pancakes, level spacious sites. Only thing we did not like, were the many campfires in the park. We just don't care for smoky air. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We were turned off by all the rules and signs at the last KOA we stayed at, but this is a very nice KOA park. We stayed in a long gravel site with grass, in the open. There are real nice sites in the trees too. The sites are pretty level. The staff was very nice and helpful. We didn't use the indoor pool or restrooms. Great location: Ft Stevens and the beach are not far away. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The park seems separated in two parts, the older one with shade and well landscaped sites fits smaller units, the other has longer sites, but not well leveled with holes. There are many "Happy Campers" who don't pick up after their dogs. Warning: Do not come with a clean MH, it is very, very dusty. We will not come again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We love this place. This is our second time visiting. Last time it was in an RV site, this time in a camping cabin. Our cabin was on Cutler's Cove which would have been nice if we'd lucked out with really hot weather, but since it was gloomy and raining when we were here. Our cabin was really dark and cold. The cabin was clean and had electric and a portable heater. Very clean. Nice porch. Kids loved the bunk beds. As usual, we loved the amenities. The pool was busy (and LOADED with chlorine, but I figure it's because a bunch of dirty kids are playing in the pool), as was breakfast time, but still manageable. Lots of activities for the kids to enjoy. The staff were great, especially the staff at the restaurant, snack counter. We did crafts in the afternoon one day, and they were super nice there, too. Love the location of this KOA as it is very close to the Fred Meyer and not too far from Astoria or Seaside. PLUS it's right across the street from Fort Stevens SP. Pancake breakfasts are delish, as usual. Movie nights happened every night, but our kids were busy with the campfire during this time! The mini-golf is in need of an overhaul/cleaning, as is the games room (seems like too much stuff is out of order). Will come back again: maybe next time stay in one of the full-service cabins. This place is really one of the best KOAs! We camped here in a Motorhome.

We loved this campground! I wish we would have time to go back again before the summer is over. The bathrooms near the bouncy pillow were kind of dirty, but I suspect that's because they were used more than any of the other bathrooms. We used the showers further up the hill and they were great. Our site was gravel, but level and with plenty of space. They set up inflatable bouncy houses for the weekend, free pancake breakfast, free ice cream sundaes, Tie die T-shirt making, build a bear, baked slugs, mini golf. There was so much to do, my boys didn't know where to start. Nice playgrounds and pool. Store has everything you could need. There is a great state park with a huge beach right across the street. If we weren't moving, we would make this a regular destination! Sites are a little pricey, but definitely worth it for everything you get! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This park is all KOA has to offer. It is a poster child for all things KOA. We stayed here 4 nights and every time I went to the rest room, it needed service. They have a once a day cleaning schedule but they should check supplies more often and check for any plumbing problems more often. The place allows dogs and has a leash rule. We observed dogs running loose at one site and the hosts did not remind the owners of the rule. An incident did occur there and a child from another site was bitten. The dog walk is along the edge of the property and is secluded. A fenced in area would be nice. The sites are all grass. Our pull through site was long enough we could stay hooked to the tow vehicle. The sight was level enough that no blocks were needed. Our adult children were with us so we used their car to sight see. The place is a kids dream! Bounce pad, miniature golf, bike rentals, pancake breakfast and lots of room to run. We loved the location, close to Fort Stevens, Fort Clatsup, Fred Meyers and Costco. We used the laundry facility here. It was clean and had several machines so we were able to get the laundry done in good time. We will stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This place is huge. There is so much stuff for the family to do here. Our kids did not want to leave. We did crafts, jumping pillow, movie, made slugs on the fire: and we did not come close to doing everything. We were lucky and were upgraded to a deluxe site (I think it was because I requested on-line a back-in , full hook site). Our site was on a corner and big. It was a back in with full hook-ups and fit a tent easily. I would suggest these sites to anyone. The pull through sites were good, but the closer you were to the activity area, the noisier it was. The staff was nice enough and there were lots of them. While checking in, I had to pay an extra $5 for some unknown reason (even after registering on-line), but I guess they need the money. The only gripe I have about the site is that the employees do not pick up after the last person leaves. In fact, I do not think I saw a single employee pick up a piece of trash on the ground. They come by the sites to pick up trash bags, but do not pick trash. A definite down grade for this campground. The pool is very crowded and indoors. I think they sell time to outsiders to the pool. The smell of chlorine (or chlorimines) smacks you in the face at the door. I only used the restroom once while here and it was so dirty, I almost turned around, but I had to go. No toilet paper and paper on the ground (back to my earlier comment). The showers were getting hammered due to the number of people staying the weekend. We rode our bikes to Fort Stevens and there is an easy drive to Astoria and Fort Cladsop. Make sure if you go to the movie at night you bring a comfy chair to sit in. They only provide picnic benches. The daily free pancake breakfast was good. There are some sides to purchase to make a complete breakfast. Besides my housekeeping issues with them, I would return here to camp. We enjoyed our shaded, upgraded site and all of the activities. Just remember, this place is for the kids and there are lots of kids staying here. Happy travels and be safe out there. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

The previous reviews are spot on as far as being a resort. We seldom stay at a KOA as we usually are sightseeing in the areas we stay. This time we have our 6 year old granddaughter with us. She loves the place. I was not pleased with the spot we were assigned. We had reserved a Deluxe site to have cable. They are very short and not level. The site we were assigned C3 was barely longer than our 40' coach. To level the front wheels were off the ground. We had to cut back a tree in order to put out the slides. The persons behind the desk including the manager do not have a clue. Appears there is no guidance as to suitability for MH types. Make sure you check out the site before committing to it. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Kid's this is your place! There is an indoor Pool & spa. There is a free pancake breakfast. There are free movies each night. A jumping pillow accommodates 20 kids at a time. There is a small (tiny) golf course. There are bike and trike rentals. There is a great WIFI signal. It is a huge park. There are lots of camping cabins and tent sites. Beautiful Trees restrict Satellite signals. There are pull through sites up to 90 feet. It is across the street from Fort Stevens state park. There are loads of bike trails and interesting history. I did not use cable. I did not use laundry. There is trash pick up each morning at your site. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice KOA, was very busy with lots of activities. Our premium site was wide with lots of grass and trees but it took some doing to get out 41 foot rig backed in because of the narrow roads and pads. Once we got in and settled, it was great. Trees will make SAT reception difficult and the WiFi is unusable. Fortunately, our Sprint MIFI had a fast connection. The park was quiet, clean and well-maintained. We will camp here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Disappointed with this KOA. Our site was narrow and had brown grass. There were bigger, greener sites available (but we did not know until daylight and did not want to take the trouble to move). For the price one would feel they would cater to their "campers" better and set us up with a nicer site. Will not stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Actually, I'm writing this while I'm still here, so it's current! Good stuff first, then the issues. First off: this is a very pretty campground, with many trees, well laid out, just opposite an entrance to Ft. Stevens State Park, and a walkable 0.5 miles from the beach. This is a large park with many and generally nice facilities. There are no trash cans, because they collect your trash twice a day from your campsite. The two dog areas are a multiple fenced area with play structures and a beautiful treed path through a forest. A nice campground store, propane, and an internet cafe at the front, and clean, pretty indoor pool and spa, restaurant within the park, play area for the kids, and just a nice place to be. There is almost no road noise. With one exception, the staff was courteous and polite. Now the issues. The WiFi is pretty much worthless. This is a working holiday for me, and WiFi is important. Though the connection is good 54mbps G, they only have 1.5Mb to support 350 sites so the throughput basically doesn't exist. Takes about 2 minutes to download a page, and IE & Firefox have serious problems with it. I'm using Chrome here and I'm right next to the office! Fortunately, they have an Internet Cafe with decent free connection, which they leave on when they close, but you have to walk to it. The General Manager was specifically unappologetic (clueless) about the issue, even when I mentioned that I review the campgrounds I visit. An employee (thanks) let me know that this is an ongoing problem, and that "they have the money to deal with it." WiFi here bites if you want it in your campsite. If you camp near the office on the main in/out, morning and evening traffic is busy, as one might imagine for a big KOA. And since the pool, spa, and game room are there as well: just don't accept a site on the main in/out when you look at the map. Would be worth a 5 minute walk around, before you register to have a sense of whats here. Most of the deluxe pull-through sites are fairly short; my 25' bumper-pull trailer plus Expedition stuck out both ends. Most people would park their cars in the grass at the end of their site. This is a very family friendly place. Kids everywhere, and they have many things for them to do. So if you want quiet, this may not be the best place; but it does quiet during the middle of the day, and the night time is wonderfully quiet. I would stay here again, but not when I need to work. Also, I really recommend walking through the campground before you register to pick an area for your rig. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a really great place - especially if you have kids. Lots to do here - the kids will never get bored. Our kids swam in the indoor pool (which is GREAT because it's generally cooler by the coast - even in the heart of the summer when we were there), played in the games room, rented the bikes, jumped on the jumping pillow, played in the playground and played mini-golf. We were there during the 4th of July weekend and it was crazy busy! The only time we really noticed it though was in the mornings for the pancake breakfasts - long lines out the door. Crazy! Otherwise, you really didn't notice the crowds. The facilities were great - clean bathrooms/showers, lots of washers/dryers, great store for buying extras and fun things for the kids. And, if by chance, you get bored here, there's always a trip to the nearby beach or Fort - which are also great. This place is totally worth the cash. Try to get a site near the office - the roads are paved and found we were heading more that way than towards the direction of the pancake breakfast. WiFi is accessible closer to the office, too. We are going back again this summer because my kids begged to go back. Next time, we'll be staying in a Kamping Kabin, as we sold our trailer! Can't wait to see what that is like!!! This is an ok place. I thought it was pretty spendy for camping but you are pretty close to the beach. I thought kind of far to walk but you could ride a bike or drive. Very clean restrooms, I was very impressed at how clean the keep it!! I can't stand to stay someplace where you can not even use the bathroom because it so dirty!! Anyways they do have lots of things for kids to do here; that was another plus!! I have stayed here twice and will probably stay again. We camped here in a Tent.

This is a slice of heaven! The staff are happy, friendly, and helpful. Sites were well spaced, super clean, quiet, and the grounds staff even pick up your trash and recycling, while making firewood deliveries! What more could anyone ask for? The park is across the street from Stevens State Park which has numerous trails that lead to the beach and a number of historical sites as well. This place is in my top 5 favorites. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Let me preface this by saying we are not into commercial type campgrounds. There are a ton of things to do for kids. Free ice cream, pancakes, jumping pillow, pool etc. However there is a complete lack of privacy and zero trees in the "cheaper" section by the jumping pillow. If you are into this type of campground it is ideal, however we like the trees and quiet. We stayed here for two nights before getting into Ft. Stevens. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

I absolutely LOVE this KOA. This is our second time staying here and each time it seems to get better. We had a large, corner site with a nice fire pit and plenty of room to move around. The kids love the jump pillow and the playgrounds. Very pet friendly. Clean laundry room. Very well stocked store. Close to the beach and local attractions. Wi-Fi was good. We don't understand how come this campground cost so much. We had a plain un-leveled gravel site, no concrete, no asphalt, no trees, no shrubs, no flowers. We stopped here because the Fort Stevens State Park, just across the street was full for the weekend. Over there, it's half the price for full hookups sites! We would not recommend this place. We stayed at the KOA and went to the Crab Festival. The park was full and we were lucky to get a site even for one night. The location is beautiful - wish we had more time to visit the surrounding area. If you have a chance to do so, visit Astoria and go the festival. You can catch a shuttle bus at the park that goes right to the festival site (for the huge sum of $2). Will come back and stay at the park in the future. It is very well appointed and is very family oriented. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park offers many amenities for groups and for families. We chose it because of the location and its nice grounds. Too pricey if you only want a good campsite. Staff was friendly and efficient. They are pet friendly and we discovered a large new fenced dog area (2 large sections and a small section in the middle) and they have agility equipment! The pool is really nice, spa is hot and both are enclosed. Lots of covered BBQ cooking spots. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The facilities were good and clean as to be expected, the deluxe pull through site was a little tight, the other campers were the real problem. Seem the management does not really enforce quiet time and general tidiness. One of the sites started chopping firewood at 6:20 AM and also was disposing of Grey water from their outside kitchen on the roadway, along with other late night noise it was not ideal. The real beef I had though was the price at $70 a night it was about $20 more than the price shown online and KOA head office seem fine with that so I felt it was a bit of a rip-off. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This was my second time staying here. This time the park was crammed and I got an alternate site from what I reserved. I reserved a full hookup, pull-through site for 2 nights and got a back-in site #K15 with trees scratching my back the first night with no sewer and cable. After complaining they then moved me to a different back-in site with no cable #K9 with trees scratching my side. Plenty for the kids to do though. It is an awesome park, with 3 playgrounds, an indoor pool with more rules than the military, no pool toys. FYI: they follow standard KOA policy not to answer the phone. Don't pull-in on the very right check-in lane: their trees tore our slide-topper and scratched our motorhome. Carry trimmers with you as you will need to trim the trees and blackberry bushes at the back-in sites. Bring a shovel so you can fill in the holes that the previous camper's dog dug. Their Wi-Fi is unusable on the back end. Bring your own firewood: I bought 3 bundles and 2 firestarters. I spent 4 hours trying to keep a fire going long enough to make 3 smores. Left 1 bundle in the fire pit for the next camper. Amazing what you'll do for the wife and kids. They should also keep the breakfast going till 11:00. With as many staff members as they have, they could spend a little more time on the lots. I do have to give them kudo's on their trash pick-up service. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Yawn. Sorry but there is really not much to do here. The jumping pillow was fun for about 10 minutes and the bike rental is handy since there is lots of pavement to ride on and a nearby state park. The laundry room was efficient and the staff was helpful. The sites were wide with no trees. The beach was close by but it's cold and windy, the aquarium was a joke but worth the admission to see the seals beg for sardines. We'll skip this next time when visiting Oregon. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Great spot. We have stayed in a lot of KOAs and other campgrounds around the country and this is one of the best. We stayed in a deluxe site. Very well-kept, lots of trees make it a little tight in a 40 ft motorhome but manageable. Only concern in the place was fuzzy cable reception. The unpaved sites down the hill are a very different story--dusty and wide open. We have used most of the facilities--bouncy pillow great fun but can be crowded with kids. The pool is indoor and OK but it was a stuffy place to be on a warm afternoon. The proximity to the Ft Stevens State Park is great. Bike trails are easily accessible right across the road from the entrance. We had made reservations for 4 nights and tried to extend by 2...place is very busy and we could only get one extra day. Make your plans in advance. This place is worth a return visit. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We loved this KOA. We got a premier site and were very satisfied with it. The place is very clean, had fun free activities like making smores, an ice-cream social, movie night etc. Our three kids enjoying the three playgrounds, bouncing pillow and swimming pool. This campground is well worth the money. The camp sites are large, spacious, and beautifully kept. The amenities are numerous and the staff is quite helpful. They provide garbage pickup at your site each morning. This was our second time here and we would definitely stay again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here "pre-season" and were very impressed with the place. As mentioned in other reviews the full hook up pull-through sites were very tight. However all amenities worked as advertised. The swimming pool was excellent. I would like to see a decent dog run area, that's about the only thing this place is missing. Its location directly across the road from a State Beach is excellent. The best KOA we have been in in 15 years of travel. There are dozens of cottages, hundreds of ten sites, deluxe sites with trees, 80 to 90 85 foot pull throughs in an open fields. Super Wi-Fi, good DirecTV reception. Free pancake breakfast on weekends in the summer season will many other food choices for cheap prices. Great staff, clean, dogs and people well controlled. Excellent laundry, playgrounds, game fields, an internet cafe. Every site is flat. Most excellent in every respect but pricey. We will come back again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Many different types of camping sites available here. Front desk people were nice to us. We were here in August and it was very full. We had a pull through and the sites are pretty close together with many trees around. Roads are tight and alot of traffic most of the time. There were fire pits at the sights in our area. Large park very well laid out. Price is way to high for what you get. Stayed one night then went somewhere else. At this price you would think you would have no dust, cable TV and clean sites. Took 25 minutes to check in, and not just because it was busy. There where 3 employees at registration when I got into line, and I was the 5th person. Then 2 of them left, leaving only one person to check everyone in. There was eleven people behind me by time I finally got done. Set up reservations 10 days in advance and still could only get 2 nights. The premium sites are nice, but expensive. The "cheap seats" are like a parking lot. And of course the wireless didn't work, not to mention my $56.00 site had a mercury light in it which gave it all the class of a Walmart lot. The cable only has something like 9 channels and the trees that provide nice shade, prohibit the use of satellite. As in the last post, the fire pit was full of cigarette butts. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Ended up at this huge KOA because the adjacent Ft Stevens State Park was full. Our site was in row F which is the least developed part of the property (ours was, at $52 a night, one of the least expensive W/E only sites available). Sites were very close together and not particularly well maintained; tall weeds in lawn, someone's 6 month cigarette butt collection in the fire ring, picnic table extremely weathered. Definitely not worth the money. Tried hard to get into the state park -- we drove through and it was much prettier and better maintained. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

A nice, clean, good sized park. There is a large indoor pool, but it's only 4' deep and is rather noisy when there are lots of people. They do have adult only hours, but they are late in the evening. We stayed in one of the "regular" sites, down the hill a bit from the "deluxe" sites, and had plenty of room. Most of these sites do not have cable hookup, but since we have a satellite dish, it didn't matter. One of the nicer KOA's we have stayed at. The WIFI worked very well. We really had a better stay than last time when we had to stay in the back row in a p/u..We were supposed to have a premium site, but we were too long for them and got the next level site and actually had a better one for less money..The staff is extremely helpful and they tour the cg at all hours, but aren't obnoxious..The food is good and they also had a great concert on the Monday we were there.BD. Very nice campground. We were only stopping for overnight, but decided to stay for a second night because we liked it so much. We took a deluxe site. Pretty large, good sized grassy area surrounded by shrubs/trees. Not completely private, but better than we'd had recently while traveling through other states. WiFi good. Cable TV good. Friendly staff. Very quiet at night (we were there Sunday and Monday nights but there were still a decent amount of campers there). Deluxe sites are close to the playground, pool, office, and game room. Would have given this campground a 10 but the pool filter didn't seem to be working well. Pool water was cloudy and even though the filter was running, there didn't seem to be enough pressure to get it clean. Other than the pool, we have no complaints. Gorgeous indoor setting for the pool and hot tub. Too bad it wasn't clean enough. We would have enjoyed swimming indoors because it was cool during our visit. We would camp here again. We were here in February last year and had a great time. We still had a great time this year, but downgraded the rating for a couple reasons. First, the pool has been made available to the public, so even on a day when the campground isn't busy, the pool may be (it was for us). This was VERY disappointing as Astoria has a public pool already. If we wanted busy we'd go there. Second, there were some other campers up partying late at night, and nothing was done to quiet them down. The bathrooms, while still clean, weren't as sparkley clean as last year. I see this KOA didn't get the president's award this past year, and these couple of details may have made the difference. Despite these couple of things, the WiFi worked great, and it's a great location. I don't think we'll be back next year as we didn't LOVE it like we did last time. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

A very nice layout. Park is very pretty with trees and many amenities such as cooking structures. I would say that families would like this park more than we - a couple with 2 dogs. Sites were tight but fortunately, the park was not busy. Mosquitos were terrible, but not their fault. Front desk staff very friendly but the guy in the golf cart doing the maintenance was into "hot dogging". Once he skidded to a stop (going too fast) and a second time he took a corner too fast and the garbage fell out of the back - yuck. The pool and spa building were impressive. Bottom line - great for families. Pricey if you don't use the amenities. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Wow. This is a great park in the off-season! I can see where it would be crowded and a bit much in the busy times, but it's phenomenal now. The good: Friendly staff, clean and neat grounds, free internet, very clean bathrooms/showers, great indoor pool/spa (also clean), well stocked store, and lots to do at the campground and in the area (bring your bikes!). The "other": The spaces are narrow, and depending on the landscaping, can hinder the awning and/or slides, so park carefully to allow for slides. The deluxe sites are paved, and the others are gravel. But the gravel sites seem pretty level. Overall, this is a great campground with lots to do. Definitely family friendly! We may make this one an annual stop (in the offseason). We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

A nice, clean, good sized park. Large indoor pool, but only 4' deep. Since it is inside, it gets noisy when lots of people. Have adult only hours. "Deluxe" sites are paved and closer to pool, store and showers. They are nicely landscaped, which doesn't leave much room for awnings, large gatherings in one site or long rigs (+45'). Regular sites, down the hill a bit from the deluxe sites, are more open, wider, longer and lots of grass. But most of these do not have cable hookup. From all the sites, it is a walk up a slight hill (not steep) to the main building. Nice private showers, but vent fans could do a better job. One of the nicer KOA's I've stayed at. We camped here in a camper.

Good things: Large clean campground - large sites - nice personnel - clean restrooms - nice beach - excellent cell phone reception (Verizon). Bad things: Long distance to beach (1.5 miles from our campsite), shower facilities were clean but very old with the G loop having very lower water pressure and no ability to control water temp (some of the other loops had newer facilities). For those that camp on Oregon Coast this campground is nice but not in same league as Beverly Beach. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We arrived on Thanksgiving and the park was busy. We even had to change sites for the 2nd night due to a reservation. The sites are mostly in the trees; however, I was able to run my satellite on the one site, not on the other. In winter time, I prefer the more open sites for more sunshine, but it was OK for us. Our Virgin Mobile didn't work here. The sites are pretty level on asphalt, but could be wider. Depending on the length of your RV, your choices are smaller the longer your RV is. The restrooms weren't clean on Thanksgiving because of too many people, but were much better afterwards. We loved the biking trails and used every one. Also, the visits to the Historic sites is well worth a visit if you are a little bit into history. We spent 5 nights and will definitely return. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a great campground with lots of things to do in the area. When we were there, off-season, there were only three loops open, one for reservations, one with full hookups, and one with water and electricity. Most of the sites are in very wooded, dark areas. As it was overcast and rainy and as we wanted to get satellite, we opted for one of the few open sites that happened to be in the water and electric sites. This site worked fine for us as we were only there three nights. The park has some great bicycle trails which we really enjoyed. Our Verizon phone and data card worked well here. Astoria is only a short distance away with lots of things to do. We only started to explore the area and will certainly try to make our way back. We camped here in a Motorhome.

What a gigantic campground. Well laid out, well maintained. Some spaces are very private and others are fully exposed, but that can be expected in a campground with 500 spaces. Restrooms are in every loop, but showers are in every other loop. Showers included with camp fees. Had free Wi-Fi at the Marlin Ave. laundromat in Warrenton which was a nice clean place to catch up on our dirty laundry and next to Fred Meyers grocery/dept store/gas station. This park is huge. We stayed in the H loop. Since it rained everyday we were there,we didn't go thru the other loops, except I which was very similar to H. There is very little grass here & so it was really muddy. The pads are narrow, so you end up stepping out of the rv into the mud. The H sites that back to the road were the best for grass. There is a beach & museum on the park site itself & you have easy access to many places for sightseeing, and plenty of shopping within 10 miles or less. We got good cell & our own wifi service in the park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Our 2nd stay here, previous was 15 years ago. Typical Ore SP- very nice & much better kept than Washington or Calif SP's. Long, correctly angled back-in site that would have been a breeze to get into if the knucklehead across the road hadn't left his mini-van parked in the road instead of his site. Weather was lousy, but that's not the park's fault. Water flow button in the shower didn't work. First time I've ever had a problem in an Ore SP. Only real issue was the trash- 1 drop site for a huge park, but it was the same @ South Beach earlier in the week, so it seems to be a budget thing that affects all the parks. Not fatal, just a hassle if you're there more than a couple days- we weren't. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Very nice State Park with the best paved biking trails anywhere around. Mosquitos about ate us alive, so make sure you bring lots of repellent! Beach area is "ok" with a small parking lot. We stayed here in May and again in June. May was wonderful. The place was only about 1/2 full and it was like camping in a forest that has real bathrooms. I was rainy, but this is the NW Oregon coast and it rains a lot here. June's trip found the place warmer and filled with lots of people on bikes, kids all over and dogs having fun. There were also billions of huge hungry mosquitoes everywhere. They really put a damper on things. We had lots of bug spray but weren’t terribly enthused about having to live covered in chemicals. The Ft Stevens area is filled with history and many interesting things to visit and there are small towns near by and the Oregon coast is just a “stone’s throw” from the park. We really like it there and will be going back in the cooler, mosquito-free times of the year. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very large park near Astoria. We had booked 2 nights here but only stayed one. The initial drive into the park leads you to believe its a huge grassy campground, but quite different at the loop we were in. It was very crowded and we were sandwiched between loud noisy all-night party groups. Spaces in our section were extremely close, all mud and weeds, and very noisy. Was eaten alive by mosquitos the minute I got out of the car. The area is very marshy and buggy. Would not stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed in H loop and all these sites were level and paved. Had lots of rain the first couple days we were here and our site was a mud pit. But overall we loved the park with lots of hike/bike trails. We managed to get 6 channels with the antenna. Lots of things to do close by besides Fort Stevens and the beach. Horseback riding was available @ $25/hour, which was available at the KOA campgrounds across the street. Astoria had the Column and the Maratime Museum with Seaside a close 15 minute drive south of Astoria. And Tillamook cheese factory is a tad over an hour south. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

The Fall is some of the best time to be on the Oregon coast campgrounds, great weather and also a slight discount in camp fees. This park is one of our favorites. Well actually, all the Oregon coast campgrounds are our favorites. We usually start down the coast around October 1st and end up in Brookings around the end of the month. Really like this huge park and the bike trails & beach but when it's busy, things get crazy in the campground. We were lucky to get a site without a reservation, but the campers nearby were rather rude. Kept walking AND bicycling through our site to the restrooms- we had to ask them not to, and also put up a sign on the picnic table. One woman was walking her dog without a leash for 2 days and even took him into the restroom. Told the hosts, but they never toured the loop- seemed pretty overwhelmed anyway by all the people. Sites were jam-packed with families and tents. Bathroom ran out of toilet paper; was pretty messy. Will come back and hope for better ambiance in loop, and even some sun. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We love Oregon state parks. We were able to stay at three during our June trip up the coast with no reservations. This was our third. It is a beautiful park with nice hiking and biking trails and a gorgeous beach. The park rangers are very friendly and helpful, and the sites are nice. If you can live without Wi-Fi (or bring your own 3G card) and laundry facilities for a little while, these parks are the way to go, and you can't beat the price. The only other downside is the showers which, like most state parks, use the "push button" system where one temperature fits all. I am also downgrading Fort Stevens from a "9" to an "8" because of the mosquitos. Swarms of them attacked us each morning and evening. They were the worst of any park I have visited. But I don't know if all of the sites have this problem. We camped here in a Motorhome.

WOW! What a great campground. We camped here for a week and loved every minute. The paved bike trails were a huge hit with our kids. The Jr. Ranger program was a blast and the kids just loved playing for hours on the beach. The restroom/shower facilities were always clean and the park staff very helpful. It is a nice park and even though it was full, the restrooms were fairly clean. Lots of dirt and include the rain, can be muddy. I only give the park a 5 because we had our cooler full of beer stolen along with 5 others in nearby campsites. There is a public road above where we were situated that gives these kids easy access. Apparently this happens 4 or 5 times a year by the local kids. They should really close this road off at night. I would recommend going there for the day. Lots to do. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We had a tight to get into, back-in spot in the O loop, but with neighbors moving their tow vehicles, we got in. Our site was a 90 degree entry, where the other side of the road were angled for a much easier back-in. We had a w/e site, no sky for satellite TV. It was the July 4th holiday weekend, so the campground was FULL!!! Most sites had at least 4 tents. Kids, bikes, people everywhere; but a great campground. The showers were dirty, nasty human waste, but the staff did a good job trying to keep up with cleaning up. I felt sorry for them. The location was wonderful to tour Astoria and all the historical sites in the area. We enjoyed riding our bikes, of course, you really need to ride to get around, the park is huge. We camped here in a Motorhome.

All the good stuff of other posters. It is a big lovely park. Being in the trees the picnic tables get moss & other stuff that likes damp & dark surfaces to grow on. Giving the tables a pressure washing a couple times a year would be a big help. Also, with all the variations of fire rings out there the ones here are all but useless. They are nothing but a section of steel pipe with a grate welded over half of the top. A cut out front would make a world of difference for effectiveness. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Fort Stevens is a large state park located on the Pacific Ocean at the mouth of the Columbia River. Its 12 camping loops contain 174 full hookup and 302 electrical sites. Nearly all sites are shaded. The park offers miles of paved bike / hiking trails and easy access to the sandy Pacific beach at several points. The Fort, built to protect access to the Columbia has a small museum and several self-guided walking tours are available. Convenient to Astoria and the many historic sites in the area, the park makes an excellent base for exploration of the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We have been full-timing since 2005. This was our premier RV experience. Our 37', 2-slide RV plus tow fit (though barely) on the pull-thru site. Everything grew steadily better after that. This was our first trip to Oregon, so we were amazed at the lushness and privacy of the sites. Miles and miles of nearly empty and pristine beaches awaited us. Paved hiker-biker trails looked so inviting. There is fishing and a fresh water beach for non-ocean swimming. Part of the beach, away from people, is designated for motor vehicles. There is parking where the disabled can sit in their cars to watch the sunset over the Pacific. If you like to see the power of the ocean, go to the overlook at the waves crashing into the jetty. You can sign up to have wood delivered to your site, or flag down the golf cart that comes through a couple of times an evening carrying wood. Good Verizon reception for both phone and our Internet card. What a park! We camped here in a Motorhome.

Fort Stevens is a wonderful place to stay and enjoy biking, walking and relaxing. The scenery is amazing. The staff was friendly. The sites were all wooded and gave enough room so as not to feel crowded. Since there are 100's of sites, there are a lot of people, but it did not seem crowded. The only drawback to the large number of sites was that the bathrooms were both too small and too far apart to accommodate that large number of people, especially since many were tent campers. We would stay here again and enjoy the great Oregon coast. We camped here in a Truck Camper.

We stayed here on the beginning of our "101" trip. We are a family of 5 with 3 children ages 8 and under. What a fantastic park! The bike paths were absolutely the best! You can bike out to the old military site on a paved path and tour their museum and old jail then continue on to the beach and see the Peter Iredale shipwreck. All are within a 7-mile ride and all paved. The sites are all very well groomed and you don't have the feeling of being in a campground as big as it is because each section has it's own "loop" off the main road. There are some shrubs and trees in-between sites, but honestly not a ton of privacy from space to space. That was the only drawback. Still, much better than some of the sites we have stayed at that are out in the wide open. Although we didn't stay in a "full hookup" site, they do have some available and they also had a fantastic dumping station available to use. We would definitely stay here again! So very impressed with the Oregon State Parks. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Very large and busy Oregon State Park. Do not try to go without reservations in the busy season! It was very busy with lots of families, kids and bicycles all over. If kids bother you I would suggest you find somewhere else. There are around 7 miles of paved bike trails mostly fairly flat. Sites are paved, close to level and very shaded. Noted a lot of folks appeared to be having problems locating their satellite dishes. Most of the sewer hook-ups are the older style where the 90 angle is on the pipe and the hose needs to be put straight in to the pipe. Not a lot of screening between sites. Very gray and damp weather while we were there but very few problems with bugs. Real quiet at night but traffic noise started fairly early in the morning due to the proximity of sites to the loop road. Oregon State Parks have moved all their refuse containers to a central location: in our case, it was too far to walk to the location. Everything seemed neat and clean. $6.00 reservation fee for online reservations. Would stay here again. The Maritime museum in Astoria is worthwhile: figure a couple of hours to do it all. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is our favorite campground. We have stayed here every year since buying our trailer. We love being nestled under the tall pines. The park rangers and volunteer staff are all knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. We enjoy all of the activities the area has to offer. We recommend this park to everyone. Sites not as spacious as some of the Oregon State Parks we've visited, but this place has it all. A nice little lake, stunning beach, miles of hiking and biking trails, close to Astoria, a very interesting town, and a very well run and clean place. We were lucky to get in as it is very popular. Weather was pretty wet for mid June, apparently that is not unusual. Highly recommended, particular for the hiker/biker. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Great family campground destination. The campground was full the two days we stayed there, so making reservations is best. We were in the full hook ups in Loop-I. Some sites are level and some are not, just luck of the draw unless you've been here before. Lots of trees, but we still received five antenna TV channels. Wifi Cafe across the street from the Park entrance is operated by KOA at $5 per 30 minutes, ugh. Better to go into Astoria, there are three coffee shops on Commercial Street that have free Wifi. Looking for a seafood lunch or dinner, try the Ship Inn Restaurant on 2nd Street in Astoria, it was great. Family campground, so kids on bikes everywhere. Restrooms and showers were clean. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Great park and location. Lots of bike/walk trails. Can walk to lake with lots of picnic areas. Used satellite with no problems, however, friends with a Motorhome were unable to get satellite reception. Got a couple channels with regular antenna. Many different types of sites to accommodate all types of rigs. We didn't have a full hook up so it took a while to dump at the dump station at the park. That was the only downside. The best shower ever: hot and lots of pressure. Close to Astoria and Seaside. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Very pretty, wooded park. We had one of the few pull-thru sites but it was not great for privacy because of this. Park was very crowded and we found it to be excessively noisy. Did not allow us to stay outside much. We ended up leaving most of the days and seeing the Fort nearby, canoed on the lake and went into Astoria for dinner as well. Great location with lots to do but not a great place to go if you are looking to enjoy some quiet outdoors. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Many sites are small and will not accommodate larger rigs. Do not expect to get satellite reception, even with a portable dish. After several hours of searching for a signal with my portable dish, the park ranger came by and moved it because my cable went across a path next to our site (even though I secured the cable to prevent anyone from tripping). And, TV reception with the bat wing antennae was terrible. It is a nice park within walking distance to the beach, just be sure to consider the downsides if you want to watch TV during your stay. This was a wonderful campground. We found that it had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. We had a site with water, power and sewer. It was very quiet and the sites are very nicely sized! Everyone is very friendly and there was excellent access to the beach and some great walking paths. The bathrooms were clean and well maintained. The only drag for us was the spotty Cell phone coverage, but you know, that can be a blessing too. :-) If you want a place to relax, this is the place. If you want to have a place where you can keep a constant eye on the kids, the KOA might be a better place. If you want them to go explore, this is the place to be. If you want a place free of dirt, you won't even find that at the KOA so you may need to go to some place in Astoria, but if you don't mind a little dirt (sandy in texture) this is the place for you. We will definitely be back here again, next time for longer than 3 days! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Wonderful camp area with old growth trees, asphalt walking/biking trails, very clean bath/showers and tons of things to see. Our site was nestled in the trees and shrubs, couldn't put out the canopy, but we didn't need to! The shade is so dense that it is several degrees cooler here than in the sun. Campground was pretty full, but it was very peaceful and quiet. A host comes around everyday with firewood to purchase, how convenient! The only draw back to the sites is that they slope toward the front, making leveling a bit more difficult. But the view out the windows gives you the feel of being deep in the forest - just breathtaking. The beach is a bit of a walk down a paved path and the reward is a super nice beach with the shipwreck of the Peter Iredale on the shore. There is a lighthouse up the way and a lovely lake. Bikes are very popular around here and everything is very well maintained. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Some would rate this campground a 10, and others much like I have. We got the last site at noon on a Thursday, and could only book for one night. That was no problem. There is no clear sky for DirecTV, poor Sprint phone service and our site was much like most state parks and tipping in one or another direction. Not all sites this park are like that however. It was very quiet with no barking dogs as in many parks. We are in a 38 foot motorhome. As travelers and not campers - we would not come back here or stop at any Oregon State Campgrounds. Our last trip to Fort Stevens was in the mid 1980s. On this trip we were in the old part of the park, and not much has changed over 20 years. The new entrance center office and parking lot is very nice. The staff was very friendly and efficient in checking us in and changing one of our reserved campsites to get our group closer together. Our sites had water and electricity only, which was fine given that there are sink water disposal basins spread throughout the loop. Carrying a few buckets of gray water when necessary is fine with us as long as the distance is short. The centralized garbage and recycling was new to us, as there used to be garbage cans spread around the loops. The restroom in our loop didn't have showers, and it was about as clean as possible given its age, traffic level and reduced park staffing. We have always considered the Oregon state parks to be some of the best, and this visit to Fort Stevens supported that opinion. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is one of the best campgrounds I've ever been in. The roads and the spaces are paved. There's over 15 miles of hiking/biking trails. Reservations are a must on weekends but during the week should not be a problem. I would have given them a 10 rating if they had WiFi/Cable but you really don't need it, you're going to be busy enjoying yourself. We camped here in a Motorhome.

One of the best State parks we have stayed in! Pull throughs will accommodate big rigs (we have a 37 foot 5'er and my brother a 40 foot Class A). Plenty of grass for pets. Very nice check in, and great interior roads. They even have Yurts. Some shower buildings are new some are older, so it is hit or miss. They were clean, and the showers are free, and in our building very hot. Renovations are going on, but some sites will be tight for a large rig. All sites I saw are under trees so expect droppings and messy sites with leaves and flowers/seeds but still a nice park We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is not really a campground for a Big Rig. Yes, you can get around, and yes, you can get into a site; however, the paved area is the same width as your rig and the rest, when it rains, is mud. Not a good situation for keeping your "home" clean. The delightful part is being able to enjoy a campfire and quiet time with your spouse. There are also interesting things in the area to see. Great park, lots of paved trails to ride bikes. Bring lots of bug spray and recommend several mosquito repelling candles or products. Fred Meyer and Costco are close but were sold out of bug stuff. We loved the camp ground and neighbors were friendly and respected boundaries. Quiet at night. We camped in Loop N. From what we heard N and O are the most "buggy". We'll stay away from these loops in the future. Rained most of the time. West side of loop timbered and dark. We camped here in a Truck Camper.

It just doesn't get much better than this. Fort Stevens is a must see if going to Oregon. There are great bike trails, an enormous beach with easy access by bike or car, and the sites are laid out with plenty of privacy. Astoria is a short drive away. Our family of 5 loved it. Part of the world class Oregon State Parks, Fort Stevens is probably as good as it gets for combining recreation and camping. There are miles of bike trails, miles of ocean access, acres of nature, a lake, fishing, ancient archeological sites. Amazing. Even though this park is as big as it gets in Oregon, you will still be camping. Don't expect to find paved everything, and do expect to find trees that will probably block that satellite TV, though regular TV works in most if not all of the park. The new showers/restrooms are wonderful, but the old cinderblock jobs are always cleaned many times a day. Camp hosts clean every site when you leave, so the sites are always tidy. And there is a host in every loop, so things never get too out of hand. Those who make a racket can expect a Ranger visit during quiet times. We had a group of teens who got the boot during our stay. No fooling around here! The mosquitos are in fact merciless - but some good spray will deal them a blow. Choose sites that have wind and sun, like we do, and they go away. Fort Stevens is a social event, so if you don't like people, you may not like it here. Expect kids, dogs, cool retro RV's (they are all the rage in Portland) Expect to meet some folks, and get your RV checked out by bikers, walkers, and the occasional squirrel. Bring your bike! If you don't have one, you are missing out on a big part of what this Park has to offer. The KOA up the road rents them - but we haven't tried them. Ride the trolley: There is is trolley in nearby Astoria that is an absolute hoot to ride. Your kid or kid inside will LOVE it. Park at one of several public lots along this waterfront line and ride the whole route. Tons of fun. I suggest parking at the Maritime Museum. Take that in, then go for a ride. Eat lunch at any of the trolley stops. Safeway has good sandwiches for about $4.99 as a suggestion. (We like them.) Children can be a challenge to contain. There are so many kids in the park that yours will want to check out the neighbors, and play play play. This park has bigger loops, and a wide center spline, thus some drivers go too fast. Keep an eye on your little ones as they enjoy their playing - and seniors should be more aware of this hazard. We can go three days with our set-up, so we seldom do a full hook site, as they are harder to get into, and are more "well loved". With electric and water sites there is much less wear. Of note - don't believe the prices quoted on some of the reviews here - there are only two for RV camping: $18 off peak and $22 during peak. Check the OPRD website for details. Very nice park but when we were there; there were kids everywhere. Each RV section has a host and they are very nice. The only negative comment I'd make are the bugs, but then again there isn't much you can do about that. Check in was easy and it was nice to see a host driving around with firewood for sale. This state park was okay, but not the best. We ended up spending most of our time outside the park. There's a great maritime museum in Astoria with the best fish & chips stand right across the street. But the park itself wasn't as well maintained as I expected for an award winning park. The bathrooms were a bit rank and the sites were a bit too forested. Perhaps when it's not raining and it's warmer, it's a more enjoyable place. But I won't be going back. We had site #231, a paved back-in with some slope just big enough for our 30 ft class A; 50 amp electric and water. Our loop was jam packed every single night (we arrived on a Wed) so it was crowded and noisy. Other loops were not nearly as crowded the weekend we stayed but when we made our reservations there were only a couple of loops available so they ended up being very cramped with absolutely no privacy whatever. The Lewis and Clark NP sites are easy to visit from this park. The dump station was easy to access and well set-up with three dump ports but very busy. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Kids kids everywhere! Kids and parents did not respect boundary of campsites. They rode their bikes, and walked to the restrooms and showers unapologetically, all over our site. Oregon has some great state parks -- this was definitely one of the most beautiful. But if you are in a high-line motorhome and want your space -- this is not for you. Ours is a $.5million rig and there were lots of gawkers who walked right up to the rig -- even some kids camped out right outside watching our movies through the windows, and many kids riding their bikes too close onto our site for comfort -- reminded us of a cheap KOA. Reminds us of why we usually choose private RV parks and resorts! Moved after one day. WOULD DEFINITELY NOT RETURN. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice State Park with a store and laundry facilities. Fairly roomy sites although we didn't have any privacy like you can have in some campgrounds. There was no road noise which was nice. The sites in the N loop were back-ins with only tall trees between sites. Lots of things to see in the area and a good area to shop if you need to stock up. There's a Costco in Warrenton with great gas prices, Fred Meyers is just down the street with good prices too. I would have given this a 10 if there had been some sort of barrier between sites. We would come back here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a great park for anyone: families, small groups, fishing buddies, and so on. Sites are numerous, divided from the rest by shrubs and brush in most cases. We have camped here 5 years in a row. Each time there was a problem with campers around us. We experienced loud parties late into the night, people drinking and then throwing up in the bushes, large dogs running loose and attacking other dogs, fights, racing motors and scary behavior. The rangers (and their aides) do not monitor camper behavior. They leave it to the Oregon State Troopers. The troopers do come when called but their response is not timely. We gave up trying to stay here and now stay across the street at a private campground. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very friendly staff/volunteers being this was our first trip we needed help. Volunteers were more than happy to help. Camp grounds are clean and well maintained. This is Oregon's flagship state park and it is huge. Sites are a nice size with lots of trees and bushes. There are an incredible array of activities to fill your days- fishing, biking, beachcombing, fort tours, Lewis and Clarke fort exhibit, lake swimming, and much more. Also towns of Cannon Beach, Astoria, and Seaside all close and worth a visit. Obviously, this is a VERY popular campground so don't even try on summer weekend without reservations.
