I'm writing a review about this park because people need to know it exists. We have stayed there twice in the last two years while doing business in the The Dalles area. Worth the 45 minute commute. The park is situated on a beautiful lake framed with pine forest, private vacation cabins, and views of Mt. Hood to the west and rolling green farmland and high desert scenery to the east. This is a fantastic place to visit with kids. The park has a wonderful sandy beach and swimming area, a recently upgraded dock/marina, boat/jet ski rentals, lakeside restaurant/lounge (with a pretty lively nightlife), a small store, playground, nasty little video arcade, laundry, and showers. If you can't deal with dust, kids, and the general commotion and half-run-down condition of the place it's probably not for you. There is a section with (I'm guessing) around 70 fulltime units stacked in on top of each other like a basket of dumped toys. These are for the most part not intrusive to the rest of the park and inhabited by folks who spend every weekend fishing there. All the negatives aside we have a blast with our kids there. They never get bored and the beauty of the surroundings make it OK for Mom and Dad too. This is one of those places that makes me wish I'd won the lottery just to be able to make it worthy of it's location and potential. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
