This park is a great place if you like being in the wilderness. It is surrounded by the 262,415 acre Susquehannock State Forest. There is a lot of wildlife in the area such as Bear, Elk, and Bobcat. Both camping loops have electric sites in them, with loop 2 being a more shaded area than loop 1. A cold mountain stream runs through the middle of the park and there is a swimming area with a sandy beach. Both the restrooms and the showers are spotless. Trout fishing in the area is said to be very good. Racoons are regular visiters at night. Will camp here again for sure. It is a nice place and a lot of fun too. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Nice state park campground with recently upgraded rest rooms and shower facilities. About half the sites have electric. There is a swimming area in the creek with a sand beach. Water comes from mountain streams, so it is quite cold. Great for hot days, but not too good for cooler days. It was in the 70s while we were there, so going in the water was not an option. Only made it in to my knees before I turned around. This park is set in a beautiful forested valley with lots of wildlife and mountain trails. Kettle Creek is known for some of the best trout fishing in the state. There is no cellular service or TV reception. I wouldn't bet on a satellite dish doing much for you either. Sites are gravel, and fairly level. Crew does a good job of maintaining the park. This place is Pennsylvania wilderness at it's best. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We were here on business. The campground itself is clean and well maintained. Unfortunately, upon arrival we found that the park has zero cell reception...I mean zero for all mobile carriers. You have to travel 30 minutes into town to get any type of even a roaming signal. That wouldn't be a big deal if the "wifi" they claim they have actually works. Now, if you're here to just take in wildlife, escape and be "off the grid" to all family and friends - then this is your place! But, if you want to be able to stay in touch with family, etc... Forget it. There's NOTHING to keep you connected with the world. I found the owners to be very nice and accommodating (other than the internet). The sites are all grass and can get a little muddy with lots of rain, but for the most part they are level and the grass is well maintained. The park was quiet during the week, a little more rowdy on the weekends, especially with the festivals going on. The view of the PA Hyner Mountains are GORGEOUS and almost make up for the lack of contact with the outside world, almost... We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This is a beautiful campground, family owned and operated. We came here for work, owners are very nice and really go out of their way to make your stay everything you want it to be. While we were there they had a Blue Grass Festival, a motocross race and we are looking forward to KC Music Festival in august. This campground is clean and very well maintained, clean bathrooms and showers. It is in the boonies and you probably won't have cell service, but do you want to be bothered with the phone when your camping? There is all kinds of wildlife from deer, bear, fox and all the normal little cute critters. I love this place and would absolutely stay here again, I have found PA to be the most beautiful state and Quiet Oaks Campground has captured its beauty so all can enjoy it. So if you hate green grass, beautiful trees and the quiet relaxing camping, stay away cause all that and more is here. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
