This campground is all about the location. It is approximately 1 mile from Pocono Raceway and is a preferred destination for some race fans. I chose this campground while spending the weekend at the NASCAR race for the pool and FHU, neither of which are available at the track infield. While the pool is small, it was very clean and met expectations. The hookups have several sites sharing posts. A little inconvenient. The sites closest to the road are the most developed. The remainder are really situated in a large, grassy field. No pads and virtually no access roads. Very few of the sites are level. The restrooms were adequate, but over used and staff wasn't able to keep up. There is ice and firewood available, but no camp store. In their defense, they state that starting in 2013 major renovations will be taking place and they are actively seeking user input as to which amenities are most important. If attending the races I would stay here again; otherwise probably not unless I just needed an overnight stop. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This place was a joke. We were told they were set up for large rigs and we got there after dark so I didn't see that there was no base - they just park you on unsolid grass field. We are a 42 ft. Monaco with a 28 ft trailer and it started raining that night and we couldn't get out. Called a wrecker and they came over from the racetrack with a small rig, did about $1,000. of damage before we fired them and called a large wrecker. Several smaller outfits were stuck as well. We were stuck for five hours and the people never even came out from the office, just watched us in the rain from the windows. If you are anything relatively heavy, STAY CLEAR OF THIS PLACE... We camped here in a Motorhome.
We were unable to camp at the park. Although they are listed as a 'big rig' park they cannot handle campers pulled by HDTs (Heavy Duty Trucks) due to lack of space in the campground. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
