Natl forest campground in Allegheny Nat'l Forest, about 4 miles north of Marienville. Easy to find. Nice remote, typical Nat'l Forest CG. Widely spaced heavily treed sites. Pretty flat, but not completely. Not all that long. Parking area wasn't a lot wider than our rig, either, and there are drainage ditches along both sides of many of the roads, so backing in takes concentration. I am blessed (?) with the trailer backing gene, even though I can't program my VCR, so we had little difficulty backing our 26' trailer in, but substantially longer rigs might not have it that easy. No hookups at all, of course. Good picnic table and fire ring. In late May, plenty of downed wood, but by mid-June that'll probably not be the case, and they're serious about NOT bringing wood in from outside the forest, even from elsewhere in PA. Emerald ash borer has struck western PA, so please help by complying with this rule! We camped on weekdays and except for the very pleasant host living by himself, we had the place entirely to ourselves! Nice hiking trails around the small quiet pond nearby. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Very clean & very quiet campground! Restrooms are very clean & have a separate dressing area for privacy, very nice feature! Many open sites & wooded sites available also. Propane filling station, ice, & general store. Cabins & packages available for weekend getaways. Park is table-top flat, nice for backing in and hooking up! All in all a clean & well run campground! We camped here in a Tent Trailer.
