This was a nice campground. Our site was ample in width and length for our motor home and our toad. That being said, some of the sites are very tight. There are a lot of seasonals here but we did not find it a problem. Nor were the trees a problem in our site. A lot of the sites are not level, so we would suggest checking your assigned site out before going there. Tooling around the park with anything large would not be an option. There are lots of children here (as you would expect). We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nightly rate was $42, less the 10% KOA member discount, for a 30 amp full hookup site with cable. This place was a disappointment. We selected this campground based on the reviews here. The principal business of this KOA is seasonal campers. They are all over the campground, not in a dedicated area, and take up roughly 50% of the sites. The campground is densely shaded. The seasonal campers give the place a shabby look. There is one old rig with green moss or algae growing all over it. This place is not up to what I believe the KOA standard to be. In addition, a seasonal camper across from us ran a leaf blower for 30 minutes before I called the office to ask them to stop the noise. A staff member drove by in one of their carts, but didn't do a thing (clearly didn't want to perturb the seasonal camper). The noise went on for another 20 minutes. This woman was blowing every leaf and leaf particle off her site. The following morning, they started up the power washer. Thank goodness we headed out of the campground for the day. The restrooms and showers are clean. Overall, it's fairly quiet, although you can hear I-80/I-79 in the distance. We had a site away from the kids' action up front. There are about 20 channels on the cable, and the free WiFi works well - there are several antennas located throughout the campground. We would not stay here again due to the seasonal factor. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Overall the campground is a nice place to stay if you are passing through or looking to shop at the Grove City Outlets. The sites are very close together and some of the larger fifth wheels and motorhomes were slide out to slide out. Almost everyone camps with animals here, but they seem to clean up after themselves and the dogs/cats were never a problem. There were no campground activities planned for the weekend. My only problem with the campground was the owner. As advertised in their brochure we were given upon checking in there was supposed to be a free breakfast for mothers on Mother's Day. Being that we were a group of moms we decided to try out the breakfast only to be charged $5.00 each. When I inquired about the "free" breakfast for moms he stated that he decided not to do that because they hadn't collected enough donations for the Kamp and Kare weekend. Not that I mind donating to a good cause, but they should not advertise a free breakfast all weekend and then decide the morning of to change their plans without letting campers know. I also tried to purchase a few things in the store and was left standing for 5 minutes while 4 people (including the owner) sat and talked about vacation plans. I would recommend this place as a one night stopover, but not necessarily a destination point. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a very nice campground. The sites are large enough. They are not huge. There is nice vegetation between the sites. The wi-fi worked fine and the cable was limited but,Ok. The staff was pleasant. We have stopped here before and will again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This was a very nice and quiet campground. Staff was very helpful. We especially enjoyed the hiking trail. We enjoyed the Amish baked goods sold on Saturday morning. We would definitely return to this campground. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
My biggest complaint with this campground was the scheduling issues. I have two dogs and I requested to have a RV/Big-Rig site near the dog walk area. I was told over the phone when I booked the site, it would be one of the sites near the dog walk area. Imagine my surprise when I was told our site was clear across the campground in an area heavily populated with seasonals. I also was quite clear that I had a 34' motorhome that was towing a Honda CR-V. I did get a pull-thru site but the nose of the rig was in the road and the bumper of the tow vehicle was also in the road! The front desk was staffed with polite but unhelpful people who really didn't care to resolve any issues I had. Fortunately, I did not stay here for more than one night. I will not camp here again because of the poor service received by the staff. We camped here in a Motorhome.
One of the really good KOA parks. On this 30 day road trip we stayed here on July 8, and again on on July 30. Exceptionally clean, with helpful office staff and guides. We were charmed by the couple who drove into the park in their proper Amish horse and carriage and then drove back up five minutes later in a golf cart (they can utilize the tools of the non-Amish employer). A repeat visit is in the works. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice campground located just minutes from the outlets and quaint shopping town of Volant. Many sites were spacious while others were the typical, narrow KOA-style. We were passenger side slide-out to slide-out with our neighbor but at least our sites faced opposite of each other and we had plenty of patio room. Heated pool was very clean as were restrooms/showerhouse. Tractor rides through the campground were a hit with the kids as well as the playground, gameroom, bocce ball, basketball and frisbee golf. The golf was especially challenging since it's located amongst trees! Campstore was well stocked with supplies if there was anything you might have forgotten. This is a decent campground that I would recommend visiting when in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Grove City / Mercer (Pennsylvania) KOA owner was very rude to his customer. Upon arrival Friday night with receipt in hand, I checked in at the office. I was presented with a cash register receipt and told to sign. I read the receipt and noted that it did not state that I had a zero balance. I showed my printed receipt from my internet payment explaining that I was prepaid and paid in full, and that I should not have to sign another slip. The owner spoke very curtly telling me "The signature is for liability, you'll sign the slip, or you'll leave." Well I did sign the slip with hesitation, and made a note of the owner's name and the manner in which he spoke to me. The rest of the weekend, he saw me 3 more times and never apologized for his very offensive tone. Instead of paying $42.00 per night for this KOA with a bad attitude, I recommend RV Village in Mercer. I called RV Village today and confirmed their rate of $22.00 per night full hook up, and no additional cost for children. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
What a nice campground. It was very quiet and peaceful during the week. The people that ran the campground were very nice. The bathrooms were very clean. The grounds were well maintained. Overall, I think this is a great campground and we will return. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.
Nice, quiet, campground. Seems like there are a lot of people that permanently keep their trailers hooked up here because it is a nice area to be. Courteous staff and friendly. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a "destination campground" for us. Located near the heart of PA Amish country, it's very quiet, although there are occasional planned activities. Plenty for the kids to do; easy enough for adults who don't have kids to be located away from the noise! Owners very knowledgable about area activities. If you're into shopping, Prime Outlets are nearby. If you're into quaint downtowns, Volant and Mercer are like a step into the past. Homegrown vegetables are a short drive away; the yummiest home-baked bread imaginable is occasionally for sale at campground office. We camped here for several weeks in both 2004 and 2005 We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We thoroughly enjoyed our brief weekend stay at this KOA. The staff was friendly and very helpful, the campground well-maintained, the facilities very clean, and the store well-stocked. We enjoyed our stay so much that we have reserved a spot for two weeks in mid-July and added a Kottage for our children and grandchildren. Proximity to the Prime Outlets Mall is clearly a plus. Grocery stores, diesel fuel, and assorted restaurants are all within a short drive. Slippery Rock University, an American educational icon, is located one exit south on I-79. If for no reason other than being able to say you have been there, it is worth a visit! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We stayed at this campground early last month and enjoyed our stay. The owner's wife was extremely nice and accomodating as well as the rest of the staff. They helped us to explore the area and gave us great directions to points of interest. The bathrooms were very clean. We are planning to return to this campground later in the summer. A little pricey but very safe and site was gravel but spacious enough for our two slideouts and we had ample electric service (50 amp). We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

During the week we stayed, (early summer 04) we observed a well managed campground. We were told by the seasonal campers that we met, that great improvements have been made by the management during the last several years and the newish owners
have done their best, to rid this KOA of "problem campers" by enforcing reasonable rules! The parks sites are level and spacious. The bathhouses are new and kept clean. A/C never dropped below 115V. The roads thru where a lil tight, but managable for our MH 34'+ toad 17'= 54' OAL. Also very nice and friendly staff. Only downside was, firewood was a lil expensive at $5.00 for a smallish bundle. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Newer restrooms are really nice. With all the trees it was real camping, lots of room on the sites. We camped here in a Motorhome.

If I can save just one family time and money than I will feel much better. KOA was the worst experience! You would think owners of a campground would actually like camping. Heck, you would even assume that they like people. Having no camping experience, they are very rude and unprofessional. The campground itself has no activities and the bathrooms are filthy. With less than 30 amps per two trailers......enough said. Within the past year, they have lost many permanent campers as well as overnighters. Their new logo should be "STAY AWAY FROM KOA" We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

The campground was at one time a fun place, with new ownership everything was taken away and it was not the owners responsibilty to entertain. I will never go back to the campground. The new owner has really ruined our camping experience. Why a person with no camping knowledge would buy a campground, if you are smart you would not go to the Mercer-Grove City KOA We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Although advertised as a family campground, it is not. Very few activities, owner very rude and obviously prefers campers without children. Bathrooms not clean, many sites with insufficient electricity (much less than 30 amps) and cannot run AC if another trailer in the area is, back part of campground smells awful because sewage treatment plant is not kept up with properly. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We picked this campground because they offer Passport discount. Our first site was 190. When we went to plug in, we found a note on the electric box stating that the 50 amp was wired wrong and to "use at own risk." A volunteer who is also an electrician came down to check out the problem. Bottom line is there was significant power differences in the 50 amp plug. So, we moved to space that was next to the beginning of that electric circuit. Space is very awkward to get into due to pine trees and not even close to level! However, the electrical connection was better and more stable so we stayed. Campgound has a lot of seasonal campers and a lot of kids. The hiking trails are nice. The surrounding area is interesting so we are planning to spend the week here. Staff in the office are helpful. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
I was at RV Village in Mercer, PA tonight, visiting friends, and would like to take an opportunity to write a review of the park. Our friends were on site 105 (w/e). Their site was grassy, and dry ground with good run off. The 1-107 loops are W/E only, most of these sites are at least partially shaded, and provide ample room to accommodate large rigs. I think that these loops are an excellent area for a group camp out weekend. Whatsmore is that there are no permanent campers in these loops. If you need full hook ups though, the pull-thru sites are evenly numbered 172 through 192. These sites are partially shaded, but seem to be really close together. Today was a dry day and these sites show the effects of soil erosion. One year ago, I visited friends camping in these sites and recall that the ground was terribly muddy. The rest of the 109-260 loops appear to be permanent campers, complete with golf carts (tonight was the Golf Cart Poker Run) :roll eyes: There may be an occasional transient site available within. Rates seem simple enough. $22.00/night for Motorhomes and Trailers. $18.00/night for Pop Up campers. There is no extra charge for children. Moreover, there is no charge for visitors (unless staying overnight). The camp store only has essentials. But grocery store and RV dealer are only a few miles away. Late this afternoon the pool was full of people. The evening's activity was BINGO. After dark, was the Golf Cart Poker Run. My overall, personal impression is that RV Village is family friendly and family affordable. I would be very happy to camp in their 1-107 loop, and recommend these to my friends and anyone else looking to stay in Mercer, PA. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
If you're looking for a quiet place to relax and regroup, this is NOT your spot to do it in. This campground is a family campground and there are a lot of kids running around both on bicycles and in golf carts. They also have a problem with barking dogs..don't seem to be too interested in controlling either the dogs or the kids. The sites are wooded, we had one with full hookups. They do have WIFI now, but it's $3.95/day and has a very poor signal unless you're right under the router. Don't think we'll be back... We camped here in a Motorhome.
My husband and I had a nice weekend. Our site didn't have grass because of the pine trees we were under. Out site had water and electric, we asked at the office which sites had sewer. There are only 11 sites with all three hookups. The rest are permanent sites. They also stated they like to keep the pop-ups in a certain section (near the bath house). At the end of your stay we went to reserve a site for Labor Day and she wasn't very nice. We asked to be in a certain area because we wanted to be near our friends with full sized campers. I think she wasn't accommodating because we have a pop-up but we don't need to be near the bath house because we have a toilet/shower combo. That was the only time the staff wasn't friendly or helpful. Also, if you like to fish they have a catch and release pond. I didn't see that stated on their website. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.
The campground is clean and has many activities for families. One side of the campground has full hookups. The other side has water and electricity only. We camped on the side without full hookups. We were able to get a 50% discount from the full rate of $26 because of our membership in a camping group. The biggest drawback was the lack of a hard surface at the camp site. Our site was a shady, grass covered surface which included a picnic table and fire ring. I do not know if the side with full hookups has gravel or paved pads. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This was a very poorly kept park and was in a dense forest. The spots were short and not level. Very narrow and uneven spots. There was no space to park our truck. The park seemed to have permanent or long term campers. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
