When we made our reservation we said we would arrive about noon. When we arrived we were charged an extra $6 because check-in is not until 3:00pm. This charge was not disclosed in the Passport America book or online and was not disclosed when we made the reservation. The park roads were poor, the sites were soft and muddy, and there were low hanging limbs on the access road. We would not stay there again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is overall a nice, clean campground in the Allegheny Mountains. Restrooms and showers are very clean. Has a coin operated laundry room. Free Wi-Fi. The only drawback is that the sites across the creek tend to get very soggy when it rains with standing water in several of them. The sites on the other side of the creek are a little higher and have gravel but they've always been occupied by seasonals whenever we've been there. Quiet, well maintained, very clean facilities. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Amazing owners and quiet nights set right smack in the middle of the Allegheny National Forest. You can get to everything with a short drive. The owners will advise on great hikes or things to do. You can hike from the campground directly into the National Forest. There is a stream with trout in the center of the campground. Sleep by a babbling brook! LP gas available, fire rings, and picnic table at all sites. There is also a lodge to rent and rooms. We will return next spring. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
