Nice campground in very wooded area. Easy in/out of pull-thru site with full hookups, including cable TV. Excellent price. Campground is about 2 miles from I-81 and makes a great overnight stop--away from the highway noise but easy to get to. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
The bridge to enter Echo Valley Campground is washed out, requiring a tight detour. The campground often smells like sewage. One of the bathhouses leaked sewage on the road near tent campers. The rental campers we saw were musty & had leaked. Our rental cabin (a garden shed equipped with the used mechanicals from a small camper) was musty & smelly, but had functioning a/c, toilet, toaster oven, refrigerator & microwave. Many campground amenities are unkempt or broken. Campers must pay addition fees to swim in greenish pool & pay sunbathers fee to watch their children. We do not recommend renting campers for those with young children. We camped here in a Campground Cabin.
Nightly rate of $149. Filthy cabin. We were told cabin was cleaned earlier in the day. Black mold across the kitchen ceiling. Top of refrigerator was covered in debris and mouse droppings. No heat as there was no propane in the tank - we were therefore unable to light furnace. Mattresses and pillows on-site were mold and stain-ridden. Empty beer cans, womens undergarment and spent shell casings found in cabin. Several hunters in P-up trucks arrived at 3:45 in the morning. (Scared the 4 children that were in the cabin). Owner did not warn of this. Owner offered other accommodations - all also filthy. Owner un-friendly and un-cooperative. We camped here in a Campground Cabin.
I guess the best way to describe it "Thank God we surived", This was the dirtiest place I have ever seen, the heat was broke, windows did not close, rodent dropping on the top of the fridge, womans undergarments found on the floor, mold everywhere, and six truck loads of hunters showed up at 3:45 am, parked on the site, woke my children who where wrapped like tacos, and were nice enough to park on our fire pit so the only source of heat was out of the question. if I did not show up late at night with kids sleepy I would have left. Best of all the Campground owner believes it is a beautiful clean cabin, but was mad that I used the good pillow with little mold to block stuck open windows, when it is 37 degrees. She said, why did I not use the moldy pillows instead of the ones with little stains. And refused refund. DON"T STAY HERE, I HAVE PICS TO BACK ALL THIS UP. We camped here in a Campground Cabin.
This campground is located off I-81. Not a bad overnight stop, but would not recommend this campground for anything else. Lots of permanent sites that were trashy. The primary road into campground is closed due to a bridge being washed out in flood. Secondary way in is a very, very tight right turn. Some big rigs may not be able to manage the turn. Owner is not at all friendly! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
