This is a lovely rustic (no services) campground on Rodayer Lake, along the James Bay Highway running from Matagami to Radisson. At km 189, follow the good gravel road about 1/2 km to the lake. There are 11 level, medium-sized back-in sites surrounding a large turn-around area. There are picnic tables, an outhouse and a boat launching ramp. The campsite is free, but the municipality suggests a $5/day donation to cover the maintenance costs. More information is available at the information station at km 6. We camped here in a Tent.
This is a rustic (no services) campground along the James Bay Highway running from Matagami to Radisson. At km 48, follow the gravel logging road 10 km to the Waswanipi River. There are two back-in sites, suitable for small or medium-sized RVs; no big rigs. There are picnic tables, an outhouse and a boat launching ramp. This area is *very* remote; even in August, I was the only person there. The campsite is free, but the municipality suggests a $5/day donation to cover the maintenance costs. More information is available at the information station at km 6. We camped here in a Tent.
