We stayed as Passport America members. This is a very rural camp that is used mainly by people fishing in Lake Marion. Very nice sites overlooking the lake. Yes, there was a fish smell at the end of the day when everyone was cleaning their catches. One should be aware of that when coming here. Since it was off season, most went home on Sunday and we were almost by ourselves for the rest of the week. Lots of interesting history nearby. Very quiet - would stay again if in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Once we finally arrived at the campground it wasn't really what we were hoping for in terms of view of Lake Marion. We had a nice view of the lake but the water level was so extremely low due to the nations draught. When we checked in at the office there was a repulsive odor inside the office/store/bait& tackle shop, as if the garbage somewhere hadn't been taken care of in a very long time. It was very windy and because of the vast openness of the lake it just seemed to blow right through us and there wasn't any "protection" from that Lake affect wind. Once we hooked up and settled in we noticed 2 dumpsters on either side of our site. There were clearly many permanent residents. It looked more like a mobile home park which may not even be part of this "campground" but close enough to make this mistake. The bathrooms were disgusting and the flushing of the toilet was nauseating because it appeared to be "reclaimed' sewer water. YUCK! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We just returned from four nights at Rocks Pond Campground. We had a great time. The sites are large and pull-thru. The utility connections were conveniently located and in good working condition. We camped with three other families with campers. The campground has a beach, gazebos, fishing area, recreation hall, and putt-putt course. We had several boats and wave runners, so we spent a lot of time out in the lake. The campground is clean. We did not use the bath house facilities as we have our own in the camper. The entertainment was fun and the DJ tried to get the crown involved. The playgrounds could use some updating and I would like to have some activities planned for the numerous children that camp with their families. A pool would be a huge asset for the kids. If you don't have a golf cart or a boat to go out on the lake, you will run out of stuff to do fairly quickly. My only complaint is the camp store hours. It closed most days before 5pm. Most campers came in from the lake to prepare dinner and realized that they needed ice, ketchup, camp supplies, sunscreen, ect... after the store had closed. The closest town is 10 miles away and that is a long way to go for ice. The owners need to extend the camp store hours at least until 7pm to accommodate late arrivals and campers that are fishing, swimming or enjoying the lake until late afternoon. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
