This camping ground is on the river, beautiful view, next to a public park, the price we paid was CASH rate, the Wi-Fi speed was good, no problem, the dump station was very tight, not easy to access, if you have a big rig make sure you have a full hookup site, so you don't have to use the dump station, overall this is a nice CG. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We chose this campground for an overnight stay. You have to drive into the town so it is a few miles off the interstate which may be an issue for some overnighters. We had site #25 by the river but were not able to get sewer hookup as they have very few full hookup sites. The sewer dump is very inconveniently located as you have to circle behind the office to access it. The Internet was adequate although it wavered from time to time. The site had an amazing view of the river, which we enjoyed. The bathrooms were large and clean. The owners were not overly enthusiastic but we were checked in quickly and efficiently by a teenager. The roads are paved and the sites gravel. It was quiet at night which we appreciated. We had a nice stay at this campground. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Campground is located on the Missouri River alongside a park. Great location. Wi-Fi was terrific. Campground was clean and well kept. Although located close to the campground entrance, we had a view of the Missouri River and beautiful bluffs. We stayed here as a stop over to the Black Hills. Would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We camped for one night while travelling. This park is located on the Missouri River and is very scenic. We arrived on a Friday and the park looked to be about 35% occupied. It has a nice swimming beach, floating dock, and boat ramp. The nearby town has several antique stores, and the Akta Lakota Museum, which is only 1/2 mile away, was very enjoyable. We'd definitely stay again if passing through the area. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Good Sam rate. The Missouri River is very wide just below this campground, which means lots of watercraft launch from there and things stay busy. Plenty of families on the weekend. Dated but clean bathrooms. No cable, but got a few antenna channels. Shady, picnic table and grill at each site along with pesky flies that drove me indoors. Lewis & Clark camped near here in 1804. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is one of the pretties campgrounds we've stayed in over three months of traveling. However, Big Rigs beware. This is an older campground with many established trees. If you are towing, highly recommend disconnecting toad and exploring the route ahead of pulling in. This is a very doable campground for Big Rigs, but the route you take to your distention should be navigated first. We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Ten plus miles off Interstate, but that did not dampen our rating for this place right on the Missouri River. Spacious, comfortable, plenty of room for walks. Can fish off a small pier. Boat launch nearby. Good for a couple of days stay if you want to relax before going where you're going. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This campground sits directly on the banks of the Missouri River. There is a boat ramp available and the park seems to attract a lot of fishermen. Gravel sites and roads. No off-leash area. Rate is with Good Sam's discount. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Nice park, looks like it use to be a COE park. Wi-Fi didn't work at our site (#25, 50 amp W&E) and Sprint hotspot (roaming) worked but is slow. Sprint cell works OK, in roaming mode. Our site had trees that blocked our rooftop dish, we could not position the 5W to get a signal. First site we were assigned to had 2 trees right on the edge of the blacktop back in site so we didn't even attempt to get in as the slides would have hit the trees. We were moved to a short pull through site which allowed a great view on the Missouri River. Parked the truck in the grass. Roads & sites are blacktop. Park allows you to wash your rig, no charge. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Location is the top amenity at this campground, located on the shores of the Missouri river. Our site was right on the river. The utility hookups were positioned so that we were able to enjoy the view from the rear window of our fifth wheel. What a treat to see the sunset at night. The campground has its own boat launch, and the adjacent public park includes a beach. This is a nice, small, clean campground. Only complaint: the WiFi didn’t work. Verizon 3G service was very good. It was very quiet during our mid-week stay. The shower facilities were basic and clean. Rate reflects 10% Good Sam discount. We’d recommend this park for a short or long stay. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is a unique campground. There appear to be a few permanent rigs here but they are away from the rest of the sites. The sites are laid out in a very strange pattern and our site was challenging to get in but we managed. Our site only had water/electric, but it was fine for a couple of nights. Thank goodness for 50amp service as it was very hot while we were here. Lots of noisy activity on the river but not at night so it wasn't a problem. We had a nice view of the river and we enjoyed walking around the park. The owner was not very friendly but he seemed to be doing all the work so maybe that was why! We might stay here again if ever in this area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Rate reflects Good Sam membership. Very nice campground along the banks of the Missouri River. Sites were level and paved and hosts were very friendly. Park was clean with no trash and looked decent. Hosts friendly and helpful. Had difficulty with electric post but able to move to another site. Would stay again if in area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very nice campground along the banks of the Missouri River. Had a site that backed up right to the river with beautiful sunset views. Sites were level and paved and hosts were very friendly. Park was clean with no trash and looked decent, not your Ritz Carlton, but pleasant. Stayed for an overnighter, but would come back for 2-3 days easy for us. Rate reflects Good Sam/AAA discount. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Great little park. Owners very friendly. We loved the view of the river that we had. Would have given it a 10 if the sites were easier to enter, but the park was designed years ago so owners are doing the best with what they have. We will definitely stay here again and highly recommend it. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We stayed here one night passing through. We used CC USA for a Friday night and got a pull-through with sewer but the internet was bad, with a very, very weak signal. They have a problem but are unwilling to admit it, so the problem will persist to exist. Very nice area and quiet. We would probably stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We only stayed here for one night. It is a city owned park. The park itself is not very kept up. Nice location, right along the Missouri River. Very nice Tourist Information Center on a bluff overlooking the I-90 bridge across the river. It had a lot of Lewis and Clark info because they stopped here coming and going. We had a pull thru site with sufficient space but the entire park was plagued with flying ant-like insects during our stay. The park just seemed to be neglected but it was suitable for our one night stay. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Chamberlain has nice Lewis and Clark and native museums. Lots of trees. High water from lots of rain, not a problem, but some sand bags still in place. Used to be a Corp of Engineers park. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The campground bathrooms are shared with a day use park and are sometimes very crowded. The sites are not very level and only three or four are on the water. The park is not very well maintained. We will not stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We arrived at about 2 PM and got our site. It was full hookup, but only 30 AMP which would be all right since it was to be just a 1 night stopover. The first thing I noticed was the receptacle was upside down. I plugged in my surge protector and it said 'reverse polarity'. So I checked the site next door and it was OK so we moved to that site. We got all hooked up and about 7 PM the AC shut off but I didn't think much about that. Then a minute later I looked at the refrigerator and it was running on gas. I went out and had a 'ground fault' error and Line 1 voltage was 134 and Line 2 voltage was 135. The surge protector shut down the electrcity just like it should. I unplugged it and told my wife we were leaving. Stay away from this place because the managers say everything is OK and just turn your plug over if the receptacle is upside down. That don't fly! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Nice stop, no noise, most hookups seemed to be on the wrong side. Several sites overlooking the river, and looked like a good place to fish too. The kids liked the playground and we would stop there again if in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We had a beautiful back-in site, right on the river front. Lots of shade trees made it a great place to be. The owner was very pleasant and helpful. We stayed 2 nights and would definitely stay there again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We enjoyed our stay here. The staff was friendly and helpful. We had no trouble getting in or out with the motorhome. There are some parts of the campground that had trees that needed to be trimmed. The campground is on the river, and there is a swimming area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice riverside park with limited amenities. Very quiet and distant from any traffic. Attendants friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay in this park when we return to this area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Convenient I-90 access. We stayed several days as mini-base camp: touring area in tow-car. Great tree sites, but we opted for tree-less (sites 61 - 64) for satellite TV reception. Popular weekend campground; multiple boat ramps accessing this magnificent river. Cleared out nicely during the week. Typical old river town: this older campground is surrounded by low-rent neighborhood. Felt out-of-place in new model RV. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We really enjoyed this campground. The sites were well spaced, mostly shaded, some were lakeside. This campground had a very scenic view of the bluffs on the Missouri River! On the far end of the campground is the city park with a nice sandy beach area for swimming, a nice playground, fishing and boat launch, and more nice views. There was also a bike trail/walking trail that went along the riverside and to the uptown which was only about 4 blocks away. I enjoyed this campground so much, I would go out of my way to stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
A nice, spacious campground. Well maintained facilities with grass, picnic tables, fire rings and good water pressure. While some sites are concrete, most pull-throughs are long, gravel, and are not level. In fact, getting our coach close to level in "the most level gravel site" (#41), was difficult. The good makes the leveling issue minor. This is a riverside campground. Sunrise, sunset ... Awesome! The view at night with city lights reflecting from the water, beautiful. A wonderful paved and cedar lined river walk and nearby hotel/resort and the warm, friendly staff help to make this the travelers' place to stop for the night or even longer. I'm glad we did! We camped here in a Motorhome.
Charming Missouri River sunrises in this clean park. Very long, roomy, paved sites, and lots of grass between. Owners couldn't be friendlier. Very strong Wi-Fi. Older bathrooms, but very clean. As others have mentioned, not enough shade trees; however, we took advantage of the air-conditioned resort and pool next door. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park is a gem. Right on the banks of the Missouri River - sites are level with plenty of space between each site. All hook ups worked well. Check-in was great, staff were very friendly and helpful providing us with information of where to go and who to see in the area. The campground is part of a resort which we had full access to. We had dinner and a few drinks there. The bar staff were fantastic; restaurant staff not as personable, but the food was good. Weekends seem to be a busy time for the campground as lots of people book in to attend weddings etc. at the resort so you may need to book a spot early. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Beautiful location, nice wide spots. We had a spot on the water and had really nice breezes. The only negative was that there were very few mature trees, but I think that is because it is a newer location. The young man who checked us in was very nice and very helpful. We would stay here again and recommend it, We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very nice park, very nice view of the Missouri River. The site was fairly level, and the hookups were nicely set-up. Lots of space between sites with a picnic table at each site. We ate at the restaurant in the hotel/resort and the meal was acceptable. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Great views of river, Full hookup in most spots. WiFi weak, Verizon Card Strong 4G. Cable TV, Dog Friendly. Indoor Pool, Spa, Sauna available at Resort. Great Restaurant and Bar/Grill in Resort , Short walk. Some sites hard to level RV. Enjoyed our stay. Golf course close by. Will stay again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Our stay was after flooding along the river and some of the campsites had washed away. Our site (#11) had the back end washed out along with some exposed pipes. This may be why we did not have water hookup available. Lots of SPACE, SPACE between sites. Playground is spread out over a large grassy area with lots of room for children to run and play in the shade. Resort (and pool) is only a short walk next to the campground but the pool is small. Parking on the river was different than most campgrounds. The wind was VERY strong but quite refreshing after being in warm climates prior to coming here. The 36' A Class rocked off an on almost all evening with wind gusts. Laundry is available in the park office but is closes at 8 PM when staff leaves and doesn't open again until 10 AM when they return. Makes it hard for those just staying one night on their way to another location. Park office isn't readily easy to find but if you enter at the resort driveway, turn right and the campground and office should come into view. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This RV park is in a beautiful setting right on the Missouri river. If fishing is your thing, it's perfect. It is away from the highway and one of the quietest parks we've stayed in. There is either an agreement with the resort next door (really seems like a regular hotel) or the resort owns the campground. You have full access to the resort's pool, spa and any other amenities. The WI-FI is only available right outside the office or in the business center at the resort. The gravel sites are the only pull through's but they are not level. We were first assigned to a gravel spot but could not come close to level. As the park was almost empty, they let us pick wherever we wanted to stay. We settled on a concrete pad that worked fine. Also, drive very slowly and carefully because there are potholes and broken pavement. We would stay again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
It was a Sunday night so the park was practically empty. We got a beautiful site overlooking the Missouri River. The staff was friendly and seemed pretty relaxed. We enjoyed using the hotel indoor pool, sauna, and hot tub. You could also enjoy a meal or a drink at the resort and use the business center. Even if the park was full, there is plenty of room between the sites. We liked sitting outside and watching the river as the sun set and rose. There is a great Lakota Museum (donation admission) on the St. Joseph Indian School campus that was worth going to. Chamberlain had a decent grocery store, too. We would recommend this RV park to others and would return ourselves. It is conveniently located for a one-night stop or as a destination if you wanted to take advantage of water activities on the WIDE Missouri. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
One qualifier. We saw some pretty scuddy camp sites: dirt/uneven/no view. So as long as you get one like we had, right on the river, with a magnificent view (we had a great site #5), this is one great park. Wonderful managers, nice folks around us, clean, grass (well kept)asphalt pad, fire pit. Just a nice stay. Definitely would go back. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Very pleasant park on the Missouri River. Fairly level sites, some with shade. Access to the amenities at the Motel (e.g., pool, spa) Fantastic sunset (not guaranteed!) We would camp here again. A great spot for those into fishing and boating. It's all right there (including launch). We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Lovely setting, great value. We took a full service site because our propane fridge is on the fritz and so we need 110 AC. On site store had ice for our Margaritas! We had a beautiful view of the Missouri River. Site size was adequate, and nicely surrounded by greenery. Lots of locals leaving rigs empty at this time of year, so not at all crowded. There were a lot of amenities that we did not take advantage of, like a spa at the resort next door, tennis courts, horseshoes etc We camped here in a Motorhome.
Water pressure was great; electric was fine. We were in site 23 which had nice shade and was fairly level. The park is very nicely kept, and they are expanding it. There are beautiful hills surrounding it along with the view of the river. We saw wild turkey and deer. We explored the hills and took photographs from the tops of them which was the most beautiful site I have seen yet. There was great fishing. The traffic was a bit noisy for as far away from everything it is, but during the evening it was very quiet. I would have given it a 10, but the price was a bit high for what we are used to paying. But, it is worth it. We camped here in a Motorhome.
A "ten," except for the unpaved interior roads. Your camping fee gives you the use of the pool and spa in the hotel associated with the RV park. Wi-Fi at the hotel was usable; it was not available at the campsites. On the other hand, the staff could not have been more accommodating. We put in here unexpectedly after a hitch failure while crossing the Missouri River. The camp people helped us find the town welding expert to do the repairs, and were willing to sign for a package containing replacement parts. Lovely river side scene. Caveat: on weekends, the place fills up with people using ATVs and personal watercraft. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We stayed in this resort overnight on our way to the Black Hills for our fall 2007 SD vacation. The park is easy to find, and very quiet. The spots are level and large enough even for big rigs. Only negative for us was that we reserved over a month in advance, got a confirmation number, as well as a spot number, but when we arrived, we were put in a different "less prime" spot. Since we only overnighted, we did not push the issue, though. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice gravel site with some grass and lots of space. Site was very un-level front to back. We had a great view of the river. Very few shade trees in half the park. The other half of the park had paved roads/ sites and some trees and had waterfront sites. Good place to spend a few days. We did not use any of the other facilities. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
The setting was nice but keep in mind that only the seasonal sites get sewer hookups. The dump station is on a one way street, on the wrong side, so we couldn't dump. We might stay there again if we could get a site on the river front. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We arrived late, after the office had closed, due to RV trouble. We had called the office to let them know of our late arrival, and they told us which campsite to use. The site wasn't marked very well for spotting at night, but after one circle around, we got there. It was very buggy outside, lots of misquitos. We spent a good amount of time killing them inside the coach. The showers were clean enough, but not nearly as nice as others we used on the trip. We were thankful for them though after a day of travel with no A/C. It is a nice spot if you can get a site on the riverbank. The resort is a bit of a walk. It didn't appear that people do a very good job of cleaning up after their dogs as my husband ended up "stepping in it" in the dark while hooking up. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed here on our way to the Black Hills area. The setting is spectacular. Our site sat on a bluff right on the Missouri River. The site was very large. The staff was wonderful. The grounds were very well kept. The campground is actually part of a resort that includes a hotel and marina. Campers can use the indoor pool at the hotel. The only downside was that fireworks were allowed (we were there the week before July 4) and, as luck would have it, our next-door neighbor shot off fireworks recklessly for hours. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Old campground with a lot of permanent residents with a new big rig area with pull throughs close to the interstate. Never saw an attendant as we just left our check in an envelope at the office. Easy to get around luckily as we had to drive around a lot to find the big rig area. Gravel roads and gravel pads. Good for a brief stopover. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Great campground for an overnight stop. The sites were level and easy pull thru, with ample room. We did not see any staff, but the campground was well maintained, near I-90 with gas close. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This campground was a great stop over along the I-90 highway. We could easily pull into a pull-thru site and spend the night without having to unhook the fifth-wheel. The showers and restrooms were clean and impressive, it appears they might have been recently overhauled. We never saw anyone from the office staff as the office was never open; we were there during the week in the off-season. There are a lot of seasonal sites at this campground, I am not sure how many are open for transit camping. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Right off of Interstate 90, so some road noise. Some trees and gravel road. Appeared to be mostly permanent residents occupying most of the sites. If you just need a stopping place for the night, this is campground is OK if you can find an open spot on the far south side as far away from the interstate and noise as possible. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Very nice Corp Of Engineers park. Clean bathrooms and showers. Easy bike riding, friendly rangers. Lots of fishermen there, seemed to be the ideal spot for that. Nice sites, and a nicely kept park. Would stay there again if I am ever in the area. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
