This was an ok campground but nothing special. Sites were level and the restrooms/showers were clean. This campground is fine for an overnight campground. Price was reasonable. Staff was friendly and we would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Park was right off of I-90 and good for an overnight. Older park, with older facilities, however, the campground and bathrooms were clean. The staff was very friendly and willing to help. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is an older facility. We stopped here over night. It appeared that this campground was mostly occupied by long term workers. Never the less, it was quiet, except for some highway noise from I-90. Inside with the air conditioner running we couldn't hear it. The host was friendly and helpful. Sites are all level. Interior roads and sites are dirt, not gravel. It probably gets muddy when it rains. There were some muddy spots left over from recent rains. The sites are somewhat close together, with grass in between. This is a good campground for overnighting, but I wouldn’t want to stay here any longer. I would camp here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a family-run park and the service shows it. We arrived at Dakota Campground on the week-end during the Mitchell Rodeo, one of the biggest events of the year. The woman at the office said she thought they were full but would be happy to check. We travel with the pipeline being put in the area and would be long-term campers. This probably added to her helpful attitude but I would say she was naturally a very lovely person to deal with anyway. We were in luck because another long-term camper had pulled out earlier in the week. The employee helping us was part-time and double-checked with her boss to make sure we’d be able to keep our spot. She helped us get the camper backed in and told us about the amenities such as the laundry area, showers and the underground pool. We’ve never been in Mitchell in our life and I’m pleased to say that this campground has provided a very good impression of the people in the area. We’ve had our spot for a few days now and I couldn’t be happier. We’ve been able to get the satellite set up, they have mail delivery available (it comes in at the office and the owner brings it to your spot) and they have ‘curb-side’ trash pick-up every day. Absolutely would highly recommend this to any friend or family that needed a nice, quiet but family-friendly place to stay. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Pull thru site was level and quiet. The water didn't work at first, but staff quickly corrected it. The laundry was dirty. Would use again for an overnight stay. We were in a 38' motorhome. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very pleasant for a night's stop over. Plenty of shade. Clean restrooms and showers. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Nice, clean, quiet CG with helpful owners. Hot Tub near pool. All sites were shaded, and the trees are kept trimmed as to not create an obstruction to the rigs. Saw large MH's there. We've stayed here three times in the past, and will again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
The campground looked ok when we arrived, and they said they had Wifi. Well, the wifi didn't work and all the owner could do was get very young kid who didn't know how to do anything but play games on the computer. Also, when asked about passport (we found it in passport book) the owner complained about not being able to make any money. It rained and the black mud was everywhere. We will not camp here again and would send travelers on to Mitchell to either of the passport parks. They are cheaper and things work. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Campground was OK for overnight stop. Five miles west of Mitchell in a rural setting. Would be better for a few days stay. All hookups, local TV reception and WiFi was OK. A heavy rain with good drainage for our stay. On next trip we would stay here if staying more than one night. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park is a few miles west of town with easy access to the freeway. There was not much highway noise. Gravel roads and sites were grass with picnic table. Lots of trees but there are some sites where satellite TV is OK. Verizon air card worked well for internet. Pull through sites are fully adequate size wise. This rate is for a full hook-up, 50 amp is $2 more. We would stay there again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
In reading the other reviews I can say that I’m happy other folks had an enjoyable stay at Famil-E-Fun Campground. Unfortunately that was not at all our experience. I called to make a reservation on June 19, 2009. I was quoted a price of $315 per month. The owner, Jerry, asked me to call a week before we’d be there to let them know our schedule for arrival. I did call the campground on July 10th to let them know we’d be arriving on July 18th. We were traveling from Aberdeen, SD. I spoke to his wife, Sharon. She was quite friendly and gave me directions. I also called on the evening of July 18th to let them know we were on our way but it would be late. I was told they had no spots open due to the rodeo. I was a little surprised because I thought that was the point of making a reservation. This wound up not being an issue because we had a blow-out on the way and wound up staying at a truck stop on the way. We arrived at the Famil-E-Fun Campground at 10 a.m. on the 19th. We were told by Jerry that they were very full and we wouldn’t be able to park until after 1:00 p.m. That wasn’t a problem for us. Jerry then told us that since the season was so busy the rates had been adjusted and the monthly rate was now $510 per month. This was an increase of $195. I asked him how that was possible when I was quoted a rate of $315. He just kept saying because it was so busy. He did say the price would drop after August. I guess it would – when there would be many other options for a person to choose from. I mentioned that he was price-gouging, which he did deny. I did ask him why I wasn’t told about the increase and he told me it was because I hadn’t asked. WHAT? Then he told me it was partly because they’d had a lot of cancellations and he was trying to recoup the money. Well, he was full, so how could he be out of any money? Regardless, I had called. Then he told me it was because we were late. He didn’t have a spot for us anyway, so that certainly was a ridiculous thing to say. He kept telling us that there were no spots anywhere in town and we were welcome to check for ourselves. Jerry also told us that there is an extra charge for kids. For every child you have it is an extra $2 per night. We have no kids traveling with us but I did think that was a unreasonable charge. We did pay for one night and parked the RV to get the electricity for our refrigerator and freezer. We drove about 8 miles east and noticed another RV park, the Dakota Campgrounds. We pulled in and had a wonderful experience. We drove immediately back to Famil-E-Fun Campgrounds and got our camper. I will say that Jerry gave us our check back for $22.50 (one day rate). I was surprised. I have been told from the locals in Mitchell that the campground caters to those wanting to stay one night and move on. My husband works on an oil pipeline and we stay for extended periods of time. We will be in the area for five months. Jerry’s greed cost him over $1,500. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Easy on/off I-90 but heard no traffic noise. Easy to navigate roads and sites. All hookups worked well. Owners were extremely helpful when we became ill during our stay and needed to see a doctor. We will definitely stay here when back in the area! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This campground was a great stop along I-90. It was easy to maneuver through and get into your spot with a big-rig. The Wi-Fi was terrible and was not working most of the time. The owners were very helpful with directing you to local businesses. Beware at check-in that they don't just start adding extra charges on the bill, assuming you want certain things. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
An older park, but nice. The owners were very helpful and we had a wonderful big tree to sit under. And were still able to get our tv dish reception. We only stayed here one night but would stay here again when coming this direction. It was a nice quiet park and a welcome spot to stay. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a very nice park with lots of large shade trees. The owners are very friendly and helpful. We would definitely camp here again when we are in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Excellent overnight stop. Right off I-90, but there is a small hill between the park and the freeway, so we heard no traffic noise. The $16 Passport America rate for a 50-amp full-hookup pull-through site makes it a bargain. Gravel roads and large grass sites--easy maneuvering for big rigs. The power sagged to around 110 volts when we put a 30 amp load on a single leg. The park is well maintained and the family who owns the park runs a cheerful office. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Jerry and Sharon Constant and their family have been running this campground for 14 years. No vehicle washing is allowed. Campfire rings are provided. The rec room has pool table and videogames. Small store has limited groceries, ice, souvenirs, snacks and a big grin and hearty laugh. There is also a cabin available. The community-size pool is large and is drained, painted and filled yearly. Good Sam. Passport America. AAA. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park is run by the city. It has beautiful views no matter where you are in the park. We overlooked Lake Mitchell. The cable TV was tremendous. The restrooms are marginal. We would definitely return because this park is a gem. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The campground is ideally located on a beautiful lake with ample trails, and swimming and boating locations. The sites are close to each other and on weekends rather crowded. Nonetheless, the campground occupants are well behaved and things get quiet during the specified hours. Two thumbs up. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Campground is clean and the electricity and water are good. The water pressure is high so you may want to use your pressure reducer. The spaces can be a bit close together for a noncommercial park. There was adequate room however. Lots of trees and a nice playground for our grandkids. Plenty of room for our toad in front of the coach. The park hosts were friendly. The lake is beautiful. We would stay here again in the future. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Stopped here on the way back from the Black Hills. We had stayed at the KOA in Mitchell on the way to the Black Hills and here on the way back to MN. This park is older and more run down than the KOA. Some of the lake view sites on the outer loop had beautiful views that might score them a 9 or 10. Otherwise, the sites are very close together and some are rather short. Wi-fi is not available, but phone service was strong. This park is close to fast food and a grocery store if you need anything. Be careful with children riding bikes as some of the hills are very steep and dangerous. The park did have a newer playground which the kids seemed to enjoy. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
The base cost just to "show up" is $15. Oh, did you want hookups? Well, those are priced on a "cafeteria" plan. There is a separate charge for each of the following: Water, electricity, sewer, and cable. Strange, but in a way, fair. The price I am showing is the price for w/e/s only, without cable. I stayed two nights, and paid for cable one night, and didn't the other night. The cable was pretty decent. Without the cable, you can pull in two channels, FOX and NBC, via antenna. No Wi-Fi, but Verizon Air Card worked very well. The campground is pretty typical, with fire ring and barbecue grill at each site. The sites are gravel/dirt, with some grass between each site. If you have one of those expensive surge protectors from Camping World, they can be used here for your electric cord. The water connection is goofy. The water connection is dual and is placed between every other site. So, depending on what site you get, your water connection may be on the "wrong" side and you might require extra hose. Bathrooms and laundry were so so. There is a children's play area. This is a nice park for overnighting. If you don't tow a car, you are within walking distance of a good grocery store, liquor store. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Some sites rather close. Playground equipment nice. Lake very Green with algae, not fit for swimming. Grounds are well kept, sites level. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Only stayed two nights but had a wonderful lake view up on a rise. Temperatures were moderate and windy. Park was beautiful, access to private beach at the lake. Pine trees and lots of shade. Loved the areas to walk with the dog. Very friendly staff, and helpful. Close to shopping and restaurants. Was a great place to spend some time. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We camped here because of a review we found on this site. Well maintained park owned by the City of Mitchell. Right on Lake Mitchell and close to attractions in town. Mitchell has a mosquito control program so the flying pests are nicely controlled. Would definitely stay here again! We camped here in a Motorhome.
Great place to stay for the night. Wish I could have stayed here for awhile. Nice wide sites next to Lake Mitchell, which has a few trails around it to walk the dogs. Close to town, but far away enough to feel out in the open. I'll stay here again, but for a longer time. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
No wifi but all the other hookups work well. The cable was good. This place has by far the best location of the campgrounds near Mitchell. We stayed in the off season and found all kinds of room. Our friends from town said this place is locally popular in summer and sometimes difficult to get in. Pricing is ala carte but $23 a night covers everything. We will come back. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
I'm surprised this campground has not been reviewed before. This is as good as it gets! Very well run campground operated by the City of Mitchell. You pay only for what you use. Basic $14. Water and sewer $1 each. Elec. $3.50 and cable $2.50. So full hookup with cable is only $22. Just on the north side of town, about 10 mins from I-90. Some small sites for tents and small RVs, some pull throughs for large rigs. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Perfect one nighter stay. Easy on and off freeway. Nice pull-through sites. Friendly staff who guided us to our spot. Shaded area; nice dog walk; plenty of grass. Would recommend this to anyone heading east or west across I-90. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Price is for a E/W only site, with KOA member discount. Best showers anywhere except home! Exceptionally friendly and helpful owner, Jim. Nicely shaded, level sites, buffered from the I-90 highway noise. Close to the action in Mitchell - the Corn Palace festival was starting when we were there. Would definitely stay here again, and for more than one night. We camped here in a Motorhome.
A nice KOA, last time we were through this area there were some negative reviews, but we found this to be a great park, but we prefer to the Sioux Falls KOA. It was off the interstate enough so you weren't bothered by highway noise. There are shaded pull through sites, lots of space, clean pool and bathhouse. The huge Wal-mart and Cabelas make this a convenient stop on your travels. We'd stay here again. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.
Easy access on and off I-90. Stopped here on our way to the Black Hills. Staff was extremely friendly and escorted us to our site. We were in a pull thru site near the cabins and playground. Playgrounds are older but clean. Sites are relatively close together. If you want more room in a site, ask to stay on the outer loop near the road. The road is quiet and these sites faced a farm. Wi-fi worked well and was fast. Overall a nice, clean and quiet place to stay for a night. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Our site was not level. Two dirt spots were present at our site for a potential fire ring, but no fire rings are provided. The view from our camp spot was the shed and what must be the camp manager's trailer home and all the junk around them. We woke up in the morning to a class A and its trailer parked in the road portion behind us. Maybe this is overflow camping? Bathrooms were steamy but somewhat clean. The place seemed busy and understaffed. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
A nice campground with easy access to the interstate. There is good location for services and a nice, level site. It is a pleasant park with plenty of campers moving in and out. There are some shade trees scattered about making a park-like atmosphere. It is about 3 miles to the town of Mitchell via back roads so we drove in to see the famous Corn Palace. A Pilot truck stop is nearby in Mitchell if you need diesel. There is a nice Walmart in town where we stocked up on groceries. I would stay here again if in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Stayed overnight on the way from the Black Hills. Bathrooms were the cleanest that I have seen in a long time. Grounds were well maintained. Owner was very friendly and helpful. We will make this a stop over every trip to the hills. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
I had to request a fire ring and was provided with an old washing machine drum that was difficult at best to start a fire in with the agitator present. The sites are very close together, and needed mowing. The staff was friendly and helpful however. The playground equipment old but functional. The pool looked nice but was too cold to use when we were there. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We camped here overnight on the way to the Black Hills. It's very quiet, just off I-90, but far enough away that you don't hear any highway noise. The sites were fairly level and we didn't have any trouble with the hookups. The restrooms were clean, but a bit dated. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Close to Interstate 90 at exit 335. All sites are pull throughs. Owners have obtained consultation regarding management of previously mentioned bug problems which has been successful. Nice pool and nicest laundry facilities we have seen for a long time. Owners friendly, laid back, and helpful. Lots of rigs come in late afternoon and early evening and most leave by 7 or 8 AM. Owners explain that they are primarily an overnight campground - "Nobody wants to spend much time in Mitchell; they are all on their way to somewhere else." Quiet and peaceful. If the wind is from the wrong direction there are odors from next door horse farm. We would go there again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This place is excellent for an overnight stay. There are level sites, clean showers, and friendly office assistance. The only complaint is the extra charge for a pet. It was only $1.00 but annoying none-the-less and the only reason I didn't rate it a "10". We camped here in a Motorhome.
A very nice, quiet, clean campground outside the town of Mitchell on Hwy 38. Very friendly, helpful host/owner. Shaded sites. Large pet walk area. Clean pool, free putt-putt golf and horseshoes. Very good Wi-Fi. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Overall it was adequate, but we would not go out of our way to stay here again. I agree with the other reviews noting the bugs-they definitely were notable! We camped here in a Motorhome.
Can you say "BUGS" .. So many gnats and flies you couldn't open your mouth without them going in. Dusty campground but clean where it counts. Would stay for overnight if I had to but would rather just truck on next time. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Okay for overnight. Best of the three sites we checked in the area. Dusty. Lots of flies and gnats. If stuck I would stay here again but if possible I would keep trucking. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This was a nice campground, but not worth $45 a day. They do allow pets, but they charge extra...we did not realize that when we made the reservations. The sites for motorhome staying one day did not have any shade. If you were to stay more than one day make sure you ask for one with shade. Our site did have a picnic table but no fire pit. It was an OK place, clean, well maintained, but compared to other campgrounds, not worth the money. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Decent for overnight. Sites grassy, and some may be muddy in rainy weather. New owner is friendly, has many plans to upgrade and repair this older campground. Country feel, but some road noise, especially daytime, from county road. Campground is two miles from town, convenient for sightseeing, shopping, etc. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Beautiful park with easy access from interstate. Also easy to enter park/sites with a big rig. Parking/distance/privacy from neighboring campers was just perfect. The only problem I had was it became a major ordeal to use the internet (they are using new wireless service that didn't have the "kinks" worked out yet.) Very helpful/friendly customer service! We will definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
A clean park with friendly staff; lots of grassy area around sites; a clean and inviting swimming pool. Bike rentals available with a playground for the kids. The laundry room was clean and functional. I was told the wi-fi could be used close to the office, however, I was able to use it successfully from our site. We used this park as an overnighter and would do so again without hesitation. We camped here in a Motorhome.
New owner this year. He is really friendly and always working. The sites are large and mostly pull thru. Mitchell is about 3 miles from park and good location from I90. Shade trees need trimming but owner is working on updating all the sites. Will have dog runs in the future. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Quiet park, level, shady sites. Hosts weren't very friendly, but that was okay since we didn't have to deal with them very much. Only a few miles outside of Mitchell, and you can get to town via Hwy. 38, as an alternate to taking the interstate. We'd stay there again and would recommend. We camped here in a camper.
All services were good and the people friendly. There is a railroad spur right beside the park, but it's in a deep valley and used very little. Near the interstate, but the noise was not bad. Was convenient for touring in the area. The laundry room was larger that most campgrounds, and reasonable. I used Passport America for the $15.00 per night for 4 nights. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Our rate is a PA rate. The park is not really pet friendly. We were told to be careful of the children in the park, but not warned about the 2 pit bulls that were tied out near the dog walking area. The dog walking area was the only area where we were allowed to take our dogs. The park is clean, but very noisy with highway noise. We will not stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed here with Passport America for two nights. We were with a group of motorhomes traveling together, and the staff was so accommodating with our reservations. They even put up a welcoming sign for our group. The campground is located behind a gas station and is nothing fancy, but the sites are long pull-throughs with easy access on and off the interstate. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a great small RV park. There were a few tents, but mainly RVs. Our rate was 29.30 with the Good Sam discount. We didn't have a TV cable with us, so the gentleman in the office made a special trip to the store to get one for us! We used this cable at no charge and returned it in the morning. Very clean showers/bathrooms. Near a train track, but never heard a train go by. The pool is heated, and is shared with Motel 8 guests. Picnic table, but no fire ring. Pull through site was fairly roomy. We used Verizon air card for wireless connection. Call ahead, the park filled up the night we were there, and they were turning campers away. Would definitely stay again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Gravel pads with 50/30/20 amps, well kept sites with cable TV. The Wi-Fi worked fine. The noise level was not bad at all, considering the park is next to the highway and a railroad. Staff was friendly and helpful. They accepted Passport America. This was a nice place to stay for a couple days and see the area. We would camp here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We camped in 45 foot motor home in site #312. There is easy access north off I-90, Exit 332. There are mostly gravel interior roads mixed with some paved. Most sites are gravel but a few are concrete. There is grass and trees at each site. There is a decent space between each site which were mostly pull-throughs. The WiFi worked great. We were able to receive satellite TV and Verizon phone & air card had top signal. The office staff was very friendly and helpful. The facilities were all neat and clean. The park accepted Passport America or Good Sam. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Rate reflects Passport America discount. This park represents why Passport America membership is a good deal. We had a level, all concrete site with 50amp hookups, grass, shade, and plenty of room. Although near the interstate, it was quiet and dark at night. Lots of pipeline workers and their children, but the pool kept them busy and they weren't a problem. Good free Wi-Fi and cable TV. We will definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Friendly helpful staff....gravel pull thru sites with 50 amp available. Plenty of grass. Cable TV. Wi-Fi was very slow but Verizon Aircard signal was strong and fast. Shade trees on all site. Rate reflects Passport America plus $2 for 50 amp. Park was full on a Sunday night. We would stay again when in area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We found this campground very nice. There during a tornado warning and staff very helpful as to what to do. This one on our "stay again" list. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Campground behind Super 8 Motel. All pull-thru sites (except tent sites). Guest can use hotel pool. Showers by pool were like warm and not very clean. Restrooms & showers by office much better. Campground between interstate and railroad, but very quiet. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Good basecamp for visiting Mitchell. You basically have two choices: closer to the Corn Palace or closer to the interstate. We chose the latter. All sites are pull-thru, but a bit narrow. Wifi was good and having cable TV to check the weather was appreciated. No campfires. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Nice over night stop in Mitchell. Located behind a Super 8 motel the park is nice and level. Entry roads are paved as was our site. Easy on and easy off I-90, but not too loud. But that could have been because we had terrible thunder storms-- by the way drainage is good. Had good WiFi and cell reception. Not too far from Corn Palace. Rest rooms were clean, but a bit on the old side. PPA rate included 50 amp service and cable TV. Would stay again if passing through We camped here in a Motorhome.
Full rate with tax is $32.40 for 30 amp FHU, but Passport America is half price, and a good deal. Big thing to do in Mitchell is see the Corn Palace, rah rah. This is a fairly good spot to rest up a couple days, do laundry, soak in the pool. Be sure to get a level, shady pull thru site if possible. Ours was none of the above and the rig was very hot sitting out in the 95 degree full sun. Staff was always friendly and helpful. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice little campground. Grassy with level gravel sites, some were concrete. Lots of trees, free wifi & cable. Very close to interstate but not noisy. Great swimming pool, shares with motel. Very nice for overnight or a couple of days stay. Staff not very friendly on check-in. We would stay here again. Great for Passport America rate. We camped here in a Motorhome.
What a great little park. Perfect for a couple of overnights while traveling through. It's clean and quiet with wide grassy sites. The laundry was clean and tidy and the WiFi works great. There are no amenities so this isn't the place to hang out with kids but for a short stay to visit the Corn Palace, I give it a very high rating and we definitely would return here. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed her for 2 nights at the end of our 10 week trip. Rate is PPA. The park has full hook-ups, 70 channel cable, WIFI, and shares a pool with a motel. Unfortunately it was a tad too cool to use the pool - the water felt warm enough but the air temp was only around 70F. The sites are a mix - pull-thrus, back-ins, gravel pads, some cement pads. Sites are well laid out and there seem to be numerous sites that will handle big rigs. A number of site have some shade from mature trees. Just off I-90 which will bother some folks. Super WalMart and Cabellas are a 10-15 minute walk but you will need a vehicle to get to downtown Mitchell. We camped here in a Motorhome.
My husband and I actually stayed here for 1 week to get the better price. It was a nice area. They had a nice pool outside that they share with Motel 8 which they also own. Wifi and cable were good. The people working there were very pleasant and helpful. The corn palace area was pretty quiet to our surprise. We enjoyed the walk there which was about 2 1/2 miles each way. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
A GREAT campsite for the money ! Clean, with all the amenities. Good Wi-Fi, cable, and electric. A great deal @ $16 (Passport rate). We stayed 2 extra nights. A friendly and professional staff. This park is one of the most pleasant experiences of 6 years of full-timing. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This was a lot nicer than I expected it to be. Although getting in and out with a big rig was a little tricky, we had no problem. It's a Passport America park and the PA website directions say to turn in by the BP station, but it's a Mobil station now. The park itself is very clean and well kept. Some sites are gravel, but we were on a concrete pad. The sites are somewhat close together, but we've been in parks that were a lot worse. The pool is shared with the Super 8 motel right next to the park. We stayed here 2 nights. It's definitely one of the nicer short-term parks we've been to, especially for Passport America. Even though it's right off interstate 90, the noise is not bad. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Found park based on reviews I read on this website. Great park, small, convenient to I-90, long level pull thrus, hook-up facilities excellent,Free WiFi and extended channel TV cable also!! Super value, great customer service - perfect for an overnight or extended stay! Highly recommended! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
$18 rate is Passport America w/$2 additional charge for 50a, internal roads and most sites gravel but in good repair. Nice long pull-through sites apx 70'. Easy access off I-90 but be noticed little highway noise, railroad track right behind campground but we heard no trains. Campground Wi-Fi had strong signal but I could not get an internet connection (local only), however the neighboring Super 8 Motel Wi-Fi worked great. Close to Cabella, Wal-Mart & numerous restaurants. We stayed for just one night, and would definitely stay again! We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice stop-over location. Sites are grass and gravel; the grounds are well kept and the staff was friendly. We would stay here in the future. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The campground is right behind the Super8 Motel but very neat and clean. Has Wi-Fi, worked OK for the evening. We stayed both heading to and from the Black Hills and it was very convenient to drive into and off the freeway (exit 332). It has a nice laundry room, outdoor pool, and bathrooms that are very neat and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful, we would stay there again definitely. Although a RR track runs right behind the campground it didn't bother us at all, the trains came just before bedtime and then again early morning, they didn't seem to be noisy other than click-click-click. Located close to gas stations, a Wal-Mart, KFC, restaurants and other stores. Be sure to visit the Corn Palace and Historic Downtown, it is interesting. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
The amount we paid includes Passport America discount. All of the staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The park was well-maintained. The laundry room and bathrooms were very clean and the laundry table was a good height for folding. The commons area was very comfortable and has a library with comfortable chairs and tables. The handicapped bathroom could have used a wooden door instead of a shower curtain for the dressing area. There are trains that come through in the evening, but we have learned to deal with this as many campgrounds have this same issue--they pass quickly. The campground is very close to a Wal-Mart, many restaurants, and shopping. It is behind the motel, which is also well-maintained. The Wi-Fi worked well. We look forward to returning to this campground. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Very nice park, close to freeway but very little noise, will stay here again if in area, this is also a passport america park We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Passport America Park. Very nice helpful management. Behind the Super8 Motel. Easy on and off highway but did not notice any noise. There is an earth berm which I think absorbs the noise. Be sure and visit The Corn Palace and the Historic Downtown Area. Good shopping in the area and fuel stops as well. If we are ever in the area we would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Good overnight stop along I-90. Staff was friendly and helpful. WiFi was sketchy from both RV park and nearby Super 8. Pool and playground shared with Super 8. Some interstate and train noise at sites closer to I-90. Stores and restaurants nearby stores - Wal-Mart, Cabela's, etc. Large, level pull-throughs with grassy lots and trees. Passport America park. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Restrooms & Showers were fine. Our site was level, well shaded average size. Most of the sites had some shade and looked level. We actually got to picked it. Site and road were gravel and well maintained. Internet was good the first few days and the went to pot so we switched to our own. It is just off of I-90 but we didn't notice any noise. Good park well maintained, we'd stay again. Stayed for a week. Camp host and people in office very nice. We camped here in a Motorhome.
A nice, neat, clean RV park with plenty of room and easy ingress and egress for big rigs. Good wi-fi although it came from the adjacent Super 8 motel. Very friendly and helpful management. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This campground is located 75 yards behind a Super * motel, and shares access to a large swimming pool with the motel's guests. Many of the sites are pull-throughs, and at least partially shaded. The staff was helpful. This is a nice overnight stop. We paid the Passport America rate, which included local taxes. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
It was a good over niter. The end sites are close to I-90 and train tracks. A lot of noise--try to get one close to office. Everything else was great. Good wifi service. We camped here in a Motorhome.
10% discount for Good Sam or AAA. Wifi flakey. Washrooms clean. Helpful staff. Noise from high way was minimal which surprised me. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Used Passport America for $16 with 50 amp. Easy on and off, big sites with lots of room. Small trees give some shade. Pool was nice. Located behind Super 8 Motel. WiFi worked good. We camped here in a Motorhome.
A Great Overnight Park! A Passport America participant that is right off the interstate and has a little bit of highway noise, but it was not paricularly loud or intrusive. They just upgraded their wifi with another antenna, so wifi is now campground-wide inside your coach. The pullthrus were level and sufficiently long for our 41' motorhome and toad. Access was easy and the interior roads are in good shape, providing Big Rig access. There are many shade trees in park and a dog walk is provided. Campground is behind the Super 8 Motel and campground visitors can use pool if desired. Restaurant within easy walking distance of campground. Campground managers very accomodating and friendly. Would definatly return again if in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Host were very friendly good location very clean showers, didn't use pool which is shared with Super 8 Motel they took Passport $14.04 no limit on stay, Corn Palace a nice attraction in town also drive around Lake Mitchell if you can. Walmart and other stores close. Cable TV lots of channels is included, WIFI in office tables and chairs there, got on internet at my site. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This place was ok. The best thing going for it is the location. It is right off the exit and close to many places to eat, cabela's, and walmart. A little too close to the highway for me. Mosquitoes are very bad at sundown. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Park is clean, nice, and close to I-90. Park has a lot of nice trees and green lawns. Some road noise off I-90. All roads and sites are gravel. We would return in the future. Hi-speed internet in office only - no WiFi. Plan a trip to see the coan palace in Mitchell. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Close to the interstate - train tracks in back but no train went through when we were there. Nice level,
grassy sites. We camped here in a camper.
This park is not very well kept and has many full time residents. Trash was everywhere and the roads were terrible. We would rate the park a '3' if it were not for the shared pool with the Days Inn. Our kids had a blast and the pool facilities are well kept. The Wi-Fi reception was terrible from the park so we took our laptop to the pool in the Days Inn. We would not stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is an okay park for just an overnight stay, but the interior roads were in terrible repair, large potholes, and sites were not level. We used Passport America, so price was good, but would never pay the full price for what they had to offer. After walking up the hill to R&R Park: I would stay there next time. Internet was good. We camped here in a Motorhome.
My wife and I and our dog spent 1 evening at this campground. We arrived early evening and left first thing in the morning. It was very clean and nice amount of room and easy pull through, but for our taste it is to close to town. We enjoy trees and nature. This was all we could find on short notice. It took extra time at check in because of a computer problem but nothing bad. They do have a indoor pool and water slide and for kids I would assume quite nice. We would stay again if we were in the area and needed a place to bunk for the night. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Barely OK to use as an overnighter. Sites are humped in the middle and that causes leveling problems. I would recommend R&R next door based on upkeep looks, shade, etc. However, I'd stay here again if I had to. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Park was not "officially" open at the beginning of May. Meant showers and laundry were not open. Price reflects above. Was nice open park with recently leveled sites. Only a few 50 amp sites open. Few trash cans in park were full and trash was spilled by critters during the night. After telling the hotel receptionist the spilled trash was picked up but all trash cans were still full. Didn't use the water park($), cable worked well, wireless didn't work at all but we were parked as far away as possible from the hotel. Was quiet but would try the campground just up the hill-more shade trees. Would stay here in a pinch. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Since we were here in November, there was no water or restrooms, but the 50 amp service was good and we stayed warm. We were just glad to find a park that was open. No complaints; it was what we needed at a fair price. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
OK overnight park. It delivers what it claims to have - full hook-ups, good cable, and WIFI. Did not pay the extra $5 to use the indoor pool. Walked over to neighboring park, R&R, to see if it was any better. It appeared to have bigger sites, some with cement pads, and many with shade trees. It shares an outdoor pool with a motel. I would probably stay at R&R next time in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We did not stay but had reservations and pulled in. They gave us a 30-amp site and we thought we had reserved 50-amp. They did refund our money. The road is dirt and dusty. The sites are not wide and have dirt with a little gravel. There was no grass and no shade. They advertise a water park but it is with the motel and there is a fee charged. We went next door and things were great. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Pros outweighed by cons at this place. We did not intend to camp here, but stopped to see the Corn Palace and were tired. This campground took Passport America, so we stayed. PROS: Fantastic joint setup with the Days Inn to provide good WiFi, an amazing indoor pool/water park, and great showers. The pool had a large hottub, a waterslide, a big pool and also a baby pool with a small slide. Our almost-2-year-old had a fantastic time on the little slide. CONS: The roads are in terrible shape. I thought we were going to roll the camper once when we hit a washed-out section on the way to our site. The red dirt makes it hard to judge the depth of the huge potholes. The trees are tiny. It was difficult to see the entrance, behind the Days Inn. I would stay here again, but I would drive MUCH slower on the camp roads. Like 1 mph. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We spent 3 nights at this campground. It is relatively new, so all the facilities and utilities were in good shape. Sites and roads are gravel and were in good condition when we were there. There was a farm tractor with a grader blade attached parked near the office, so they are apparently paying more attention to the condition of the roads and sites. The campsites are long and level. The trees are small, so they offer no shade. WiFi worked well, but has the best signal in the sites near the office. Sites on the rows farthest from the office would likely have intermittent service. Indoor swimming pool and spa at adjoining Day's Inn is available for camping guests. The railroad track runs right beside the campground, but only one train came by during the three nights we were there. It was at midnight, and it did blow the horn loudly! Staff was very friendly. This campground is not South Dakota's best as their ads proclaim, but it is a good place to stay in a convenient location. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We were on site #33. Good points. 1. Is big rig access. Some sites are 70 ft long. Didn't have to unhook our trailer from our truck. 2. Gets good clear cable TV and lots of channels. Bad points. 1. Suppose to have Wi-Fi. That is why we stayed here. It was hit and miss from our site. It was slower then dial up internet even at the office, where the antenna is. When the office is closed there is no outdoor shelter. Poor excuse for Wi-Fi. 2. Train tracks are less then 300 yards from our site. Closer for others. 3. Lots of road noise at 6 AM. 4. Erosion dips from July as posted, still have them in Sept. 4. $25 per night. To much money for this campground. Won't be back to this campground. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Nice park for an overnight. The park is new so trees are small. Gravel sites mostly pull thru FHU with 50 and 30 amp plus cable TV. Park sits behind the Days Inn and office is in the back of the Hotel. Has an indoor water slide ($5.00 extra) and an indoor pool and hot tub (free). Both are shared by the campground and hotel guests. We did go swimming in the pool and it was nice, passed on the water slide. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
OK for overnite. We paid Passport America rate+tax. (13.50) Bills itself as South Dakota's best. That's a bit of a stretch. It's nice enough, sites were level gravel and very long pullthru. Train tracks run behind but quietly with no whistle. Farther from Interstate than RR so quieter. Only one train went by. Gravel road to the office and then to the campsites has some erosion dips from rainstorms. Hasn't been leveled for awhile it appears. So watch the bump. Behind Days Inn motel. Didn't use waterpark, they wanted $5 for a wristband. We camped here in a Motorhome.
