After checking with Verizon Wireless to determine whether you could get their signal in this area, and they said there was no signal there, we were pleasantly surprised to find there is a Verizon signal here, a little slow on sunny days, slower or very weak on cloudy days, but adequate most of the time for what we needed. No problem getting Dish signal. About 5 miles to Normandy with 1 restaurant open on weekends only, about 10 miles to Manchester or Tullahoma with many more restaurants and shopping. Our GPS took us in on a strange route, but once you know the area you can navigate easily and roads are in very good condition. We enjoyed our stay here. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Golden Access rate $11. No sewer hookups. Most RVs had sewer totes sitting by their drains. Many monthly campers are located here and no reservations are taken. Had a great water front site, "if" the lake hadn't been down 5-6 feet. Water that would have been at the edge of the concrete patio normally was 300-400 feet away. However we would return if our travels brings us back to the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Normandy Campground is beautiful. For those of you who haven't been there: there are 3 public showers/restrooms and lots of lake sites, the sites are 50/30/110 electric and water. There are picnic tables and BBQ stands and fire pits at each site. There is a beach area with sand and a boat dock just for the camp ground and a public use boat dock. On the negative side: some sites were a little too close together; and a few more trees would have been nice. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
The first mistake we made was to come here on a holiday weekend. Noise from our neighboring campsites continued on to near midnight. Noise came from power boats on the lake early in the morning. The campground was totally full. We got the last site. Other than that - this would be a nice place to come stay. Sites are very large. Some have utilities, some don't. Some sites are on the lake. Nice swimming area. Sites were fairly clean and maintained. The good thing is you can use your Golden Access card to get camping for half price. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
