This park is now called Spencer Cove and is under new ownership. There is easy access from an excellent highway. The office hours are not regular. The roadways are steep and rough. The spaces are spread out and large. Most have picnic tables and fire rings and are wooded. There is only one rest romm facility. It was adequate to accomodate the 9 units occupied when we were there. However, it was not cleaned during the four days we were there. They provide wireless internet connection at no additional cost. This is the closest private campground to Fall Creek Falls State Park and Rock Island State Park is a short drive. We will stay there again when we cannot get into either of the state parks but only under those circumstances. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed in this campground the summer of 2003. Although the campground was new, we found many dislikes about it. For one thing, I am so glad that we have 4 wheel drive because it took it to get our 30' 5th wheel into the site. It looked like someone had just taken a bulldozer to a mountain and pushed a path through it and calling it a road. The roads within the campground are very steep making travel difficult and uncomfortable. Our site was extremely small and based with what appeared to be kitty litter. We barely had room to get the awning out and couldn't set on one side of the picnic table because it leaned over a bank. When we called to inquire about campground amenities and make reservations, we were told that it was full hook ups. However when we got there we learned that full hook ups didn't include sewer. Attitude of front office staff was slightly rude at check in. Also, no Good Sam signs were posted. The camper behind us got the discount only because they asked. When we asked to redo our registration to get the discount we were rudely told no. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We camped here over Labor Day Weekend in 2003. This is a new campground (open less than a year), so some things were not yet finished. For example, the roads through the campground were dirt (no gravel) and were very dusty. This is also true for the campsites (no gravel....just dirt). If it would have rained, it would have been very muddy. (The camp managers did say that plans were in the works to gravel the roads and campsites). The campsites are large and shady, and for the most part level, but bring plenty of leveling boards just to be safe. Overall, this isn't the greatest campground, but we had a great time. They had live entertainment on weekend nights with karoake, a nice playground for kids, a swimming pond with a nice sandy beach, and a greased pig contest (it doesn't take much to entertain us). Plus, the camp managers and owners were very friendly and helpful. One of the nice things about this campground is it's about ten minutes from the south entrance to Fall Creek Falls State Park. In another year once all the finishing touches have been made at the campground, it will be a great place to camp. The one real minus was that the bathrooms/showers weren't kept very clean. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
