Staff was friendly and helpful but check in took a long time. Security gate is not really secure as anyone could easily walk around it and it is trouble to use. WI-Fi didn't work most of the time. They use Tengointernet service that restricts usage. We will not stay here again because we need a good WI-Fi connection that works and allows us to use it as we wish! We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice, older campground. Sites were level, with older trees for shade, somewhat making entry and leaving a little close. Although near the highway, the trees knocked out most of the noise. We enjoyed our visit, and would stop here again. Escort to your site. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The front desk clerk was very rude on our arrival and the person who directed us to our site was very officious. On the other hand the park is clean and safe and is convenient to I-35. The park is probably overpriced but is definitely secure with a security gate. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

I have stayed here on 2 occasions. Close to I-35 but quiet. Gated entry is relaxed; many cars came in without asking. Quiet, everyone staying was respectful, the staff were cheerful. I have always felt welcomed. Close to downtown. It's an older park and there are several more permanent residents. Shady, and clean and level pull throughs. I will stay again next year. Used to be a KOA. Well kept and has upgraded electrical utilities and cable. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The location is close to many restaurants, stores, and shopping. Very friendly check in staff and grounds maintenance staff - they get 5 stars. Sites have large trees,so you might need to maneuver for satellite TV. Many full time residents, and park was full the night before we arrived, so I was glad I had made reservations in advance. There are 2 dog parks, plus play ground area. We have stayed there many times as the RV park is close to family. Price paid reflect military discount. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We had stayed at a Carefree Resort RV park in Fort Worth, so decided to stay at another in Austin. The staff was amazing, especially one gentleman who helped us set up our TV, even showing us were our antenna reset switch was located in our new 5th wheeler. The park is nice with level concrete pads. The only comment would be that the sites are a little close and the way out is a little convoluted. Like with most Carefree Resorts, there are a number of permanents living at the park, but they were all very friendly. We would definitely return and stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here during the Formula 1 Race in Austin. Rate was high but hotel rooms were 3-5x rack room rate during the race. Campground was fully booked - I waited 9 months to get a cancellation. They had three people in golf carts meeting you at the entrance - immediately took you to our space - let you check in later. Process was exceptionally well managed. Pull thru with my 45 footer and Honda was roomy and adequate. Yes - a bit older resort and roads in the back section were a bit trashed but office staff were exceptionally helpful. Immediately off Interstate 35 - but noise was not that bad and very convenient. Will stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is an excellent park to stay in. We have stayed here multiple times without any problems. It is clean and the staff is always helpful and friendly. If you have a satellite dish on top of your RV; many of the spots will have trees in the way and you will not be able to get a line up for a signal from the satellite. They serve an excellent pancake breakfast on the weekends. We will definitely stay here again. Definitely call ahead for a reservation during the college football season. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Main reason we came here was for the hot tub, found out when we arrived that it no longer works and they probably will not fix it. Would have stayed longer but after finding that out, we left the next morning. It was a good thing we still had water in the fresh tank as the park was without water for the night. Will not be back. This is an older campground and has somewhat narrow interior roads, but adequate. Mature trees and bushes, level sites and main exit road is in very good shape, but adjacent roads need work. I gave this park an 8 because their office hours are 8a to 6p and not all travelers are in at that time, especially if you get caught up in Austin's rush hour traffic!! For this type of business someone should be there until 8:30 or 9:00 p.m. Due to the extreme heat, the power caused the lights to dim and brighten intermittently. I was far enough back that I did not hear the I-35 traffic. I think I would try some other park as getting to park requires you to back track if you are southbound on I-35 and then you have to go north cross over I-35 to head south again. A lot of extra driving for a KOA type price such as this one has. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Have stayed here before as close to daughters. New paved main road nice otherwise side roads in park need replacing. Lots of trees. Staff gets A+. Greets you in drive way and escorts you to parking site, helps with hookups and offers lots of local information. Gated at all times. Lots of trees. Might be considered a bit tight,but we will stay there whenever we are on that side of Austin. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here overnight while visiting relatives in Austin. The gentleman that greeted us was very friendly and took us right to our spot, even doing so before requiring us to check in. The lady checking us in was quite friendly as well, and explained all the amenities very well. The park has lots of trees that create a nice shade canopy, and the pull-through spot had enough room to stack our 27' trailer and crew cab F-150. There was a nice selection of cable channels and the Wi-Fi was nice and strong for our iPads. The roads are a little narrow, but the signage makes it easy to understand how to maneuver through the park when exiting. Even though the location is right off I-35, we only heard road noise infrequently (mainly when big rigs went by) and it was not enough to disturb our rest. All in all, a nice park, and one we will stay at again when we have the occasion. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a very nice park. The roads are paved and the sites are gravel, shaded, and spacious. We didn’t notice when we had neighbors or when they came and went. The park is gated. The pool is clean, but was not heated. We were at the front of the park so the interstate 35 traffic noise was noticeable in the morning. Cable had 60+ stations! Wi-Fi was excellent. The bathrooms/showers are individual and clean. Laundry clean, but a bit cozy. Just 5 miles from the capitol so the location was excellent. Also close to Walmart, grocery and restaurants. Staff was very friendly. Rate was Passport America rate. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Nice park with little freeway noise. The slide out was a little too close to the picnic table, so had to walk around it into our neighbors area a bit. The laundry room was a tad worn but very clean. Had to use a magnetic card for entry ($20 cash deposit). Very friendly folks. It's just far enough outside of Austin to miss rush hour traffic. Quiet and level. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Stayed here for a convention as I was not paying 200 bucks a night for a sleazy hotel. The park is busy, narrow roads, quite cozy. Everyone was friendly. Close to I-35 but not noisy. Lots of trees which is a plus in Texas. Some long termers here but great people. Gated, which I liked and is somewhat dark, not really lighted which made for some great rest and sleep. Wireless internet was good, not fantastic but for email and light surfing, it was fine. I will stay again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is the best park we have ever seen. On arrival, a workcamper led us to our pull-through site and answered all our questions, then we went back to the office to register and pay. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, with lots of suggestions on what to see, where to park, etc. in Austin. The Wi-Fi worked perfectly, as did the cable TV channels, with reception getting better after dark. We had our rig serviced at the local Buda Camper Clinic II, only 7 miles away, but ended up staying longer here because we liked it so much. The front office even accepted some packages for us from UPS. There is a fitness room off the main office where my husband enjoyed their workout equipment and weights. There are probably a dozen or so full private baths, including showers in each one, which means no waiting even in the morning "rush hour" and the bathrooms were always clean. The sites are nicely separated with mature trees and hedges, so you aren't looking into your neighbor's windows. The only downside is beyond the campgrounds' control - the noise from the I-35 freeway - but by the end of our stay, we got used to it. I rate this an A+ resort. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Most professional staff we have ever dealt with. Road noise from 10 lanes of high-speed traffic just outside of grounds is the only reason we don't rate it a 10. Lots of shopping and great restaurants nearby. Downtown Austin is only a few miles away. We liked the resort and Austin so much that we stayed 2 weeks rather than our planned 1. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Easy location off freeway in South Austin. Staff get a 5*. Grounds well maintained but the interior streets are in bad condition, but the resort said that was the next repair. New rally addition to office. Sites are gravel. Some recent replaced power stations. They suggest you use a pressure regulator on water. Shade trees in summer. This location is near daughter, so we have stayed here several times. Electronic gate at entrance, so secure. Easy Sat. and Wi-Fi reception. Will stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Apparently this is the park closest to Austin. It is old so the spaces are very close and the roads are narrow and in need of repair. That said, the staff was wonderful, allowed us to stay long after check out to await our car repairs. Shower facilities were excellent. Right off the highway, but not noisy. Nice Office and the best weekend breakfast I've ever experienced in a campground. Overpriced for the resorts' condition. Roads inside the park are very rough and narrow. Some sites very small and too close together. Cable TV was very fuzzy/snowy; I opted to bring in off-the-air TV for a better signal. Bath house I used was clean and nice enough. Big Rigs may have trouble maneuvering due to other vehicles parked nearby. Had to ask folks to move their vehicles so I could park my 5th Wheel. Some very old trailers parked in here, and looking at them, many may never move again. RV parking sites are on coarse gravel. My site had no patio to speak of, just an old nasty fire ant infested picnic table on loose gravel that awaits one wrong move to give you a splinter. Lots of trees in the park, but I was one of the few that had full sunshine on my rig most of the day. Choices in this area of Austin are few, so I would likely stay here again if I want to spend time in a very interesting area of a terrific and weird City of Austin. Really need to bring these prices down though, and do something about the fire ants. I've stayed at many nicer places at much lower rates, but not in Austin. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a clean, safe, generally quiet park with very accommodating and friendly staff. The location is convenient for South Austin. There are a variety of sites; most are gravel, shaded, and fairly level. The rate is for a monthly stay, including electric. The main road is wide and in good condition, but the side roads are narrower and bumpy. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here summer of 2010 and again on Thursday and Friday before Easter 2011. Resort was not full. Has very nice folks. This is a older RV park and for us the location was prime factor in the selection. It is close to daughters home. The road in and out of the parking area is narrow and tight. We have levelers as some sites are unlevel. There are lots of trees, so we had to park so the satellite dish would get clear reception. There are many long term RV's. It is quiet at night. Has the best $2 breakfast. Has some recent remodeling to office area. Easy to find as this Resort fronts on the feeder road of the freeway. It's gated at night and has good WiFi reception. Will stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Great place to be. Office help is friendly and a great breakfast is available for $2 a person: Friday, Saturday and Sunday. 24-hour gated park, which is nice. Even though it is located on Interstate 35, it was quiet where we were parked. Several people saw wild turkeys in the park but we didn't. We recommend this and will stay here again. Price reflects Passport America discount. Interior roads paved but not smooth. CG has many trees, but our spot in the back (140) had good satellite reception. WiFi (free Tengonet) was fair. Verizon air card was fine. Staff couldn't be nicer. Has propane delivery at your site every Tuesday. Daily trash pick up at the site. Many Class A's here. No noise from I-35 in the back sites. We stayed here for five nights over Thanksgiving weekend. The sites are not particularly level, but the ones toward the front have nice high hedges that make the sites feel more private. Paved sidewalk to the bathroom is nice. Picnic table at site is also welcome. There is a glaringly bright street lamp right over our site (#23) that made it a little hard to sleep, and the road noise from I-35 is fairly loud. The bathrooms are okay. Showers vary from ice cold to scalding hot from moment to moment. Hard to take a shower without freezing or getting burned. Some showers don't work. Laundry room is nice. Older machines but pleasant laundry facilities and machines worked well. They have propane available and were nice enough to put freeze warnings on everyone's RVs. Kind of pricey. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

When we pulled in we were met by the host at the gate and escorted to a wonderful site and guided into the site. We were told to check-in when we had time. We setup, walked the dogs, rested a little and went to the office to check-in. They were very friendly and helpful and told us about a great restaurant. The roads were narrow but the corners were very wide. No problems while we were leaving with the toad hooked up, (55+ feet). We camped here in a Motorhome.

Agree that the park is no 10, but the folks working here are 10's. The sites here vary and some are much nicer than others. Note that a $20 cash deposit is required for the gate card. This is a good value with Passport America given its location in Austin. We had a 30 amp back in site with water, sewer, CATV and WiFi. There was very good separation between the back in sites with large bushes providing good privacy. We did get a lot of road noise from I-35. The interior roads are very narrow and exiting has you going to the back of the park and then back down the center. We had the breakfast on Friday morning before leaving, great value for $2. Pancakes, biscuits and gravy, danish, muffins, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, juice, coffee and tea. Good access into the city by crossing over I-35 a few lights west and then a right on Congress, this takes you straight to the State Capitol building and is an easy drive. We camped here in a Motorhome.

There is no way this park should be rated a 10. The sites are gravel, including the patios, and very narrow. Interior roads are narrow with very tight turns and badly in need of maintenance. This is compounded by some campers parking their vehicles extending into the streets and the staff apparently doesn't care. Additionally, the park is right next to I-35 so there is a lot of road noise. If you must stay here try to get a site towards the back. For dog owners be aware there is very little grass but they do have a dog run. The best part of this campground is the staff. They are very friendly and helpful. We would not stay here again, it is highly overrated. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I wish I could live in this campground I loved it so much. I went for 3 days and stayed 6. The employees couldn't have been nicer, and they keep it pristine. There's a little off leash dog park. The WiFi is excellent. The location is easy to get to downtown. The spaces are wide and long and landscaped so they are private. Lots of trees but still sites where rooftop satellites get a signal. I hated to leave! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is an absolutely beautiful, surprisingly quiet oasis park right off the frontage road of northbound I-35. Every employee is positive & helpful. One of the cleanest parks we've stayed in in 34 years of RVing. We arrived as Hurricane Alex sent a terrific wave of humid, hot weather alternating with rainy, hot weather; stuck inside much of the time. We appreciated the extra-wide pull-through spaces with grassy lawns and mature trees. Very private feeling here. On weekends & holidays the rate jumps to $50/night; however, we still feel it was well worth the price. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is just an update, we've stayed here a few times when attending events in Austin that run into the early morning hours. We stayed this time while attending Pecan Street Festival on 6th Street. Nice park with the most friendly staff. We are fulltimers and when we arrived we were greeted with warm smiles and lots of information on things to do in the area. The park is neat and the laundry room is kept cool and clean. The location is close to South Congress and we would definitely come back again and stay for another month. Great campground conveniently located on the south side of Austin on route I-35. Has very friendly and helpful staff. The campground has nice level sites with shade and there's a small heated pool and hot tub by the office. The only negative was that the roads were rough and needed resurfacing, but we were told that's on the agenda for this year. We'd certainly stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We were in the Austin area to visit family and have our MH serviced. This park provided just what we needed. Easy access to I-35, yet you don't hear it. Interior roads are a bit narrow and in need of repair, but we came and went in our 40-footer without any trouble. Just take it slow. Once we were in our site, there was plenty of room. Staff is friendly. Weekend breakfasts are a tasty deal. And, we met some very friendly, fellow campers here. This will be our park of choice whenever we're in Austin. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here while attending SXSW (Music/Film Festival), and our stay started off with a negative taste in our mouths. Upon making our online reservation at the rate quoted, they called us saying the rate would be even higher because they were so busy. With no other options near town available, we had no choice but to reluctantly accept it. We were placed in the front of the park, which is quite noisy from interstate traffic. (Further back gets much quieter). The sites are fairly well spaced, but pretty packed in too, and there's nice trees and bushes between them. The WiFi worked fine, facilities were clean and the staff was super friendly. The bathrooms where private shower/toilet suites: quite nice. The hot tub was however, closed our entire stay. Getting in and out of the park is frustrating, as you have to travel about 3 miles further to get back on the frontage road when coming in from the north. While there is a back entrance that would make things easier, it's locked. Families be warned: there's an adult megastore right next door. All and all: we would consider this park as a last resort when staying in Austin. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

We needed to find a campground to stay at because our family was flying in to stay with us in Austin. This campground was wonderful! The staff was the most friendly I've encountered for a LONG time...they were so kind, welcoming, and sweet with our kids. We loved the pancake breakfast too! It's a very well kept park. It was a bit spend (more than their normal rate) because we were there in March (they don't accept discounts during that month because they are so busy). The Wi-Fi worked well for us most of the time, the laundry facilities were nice, and the trash pick up in the morning was an unexpected bonus. The pool was not open while we were there, but it looked very clean and nice. We would definitely consider staying here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This was an okay park. The lots and roads are narrow. I had a hard time getting the motorhome in and out of the lot onto the park's road. I didn't notice any road noise even though we were sort of close to the interstate. The staff was friendly. One peculiar thing about staying there. The staff requires a $20 deposit in cash for an entry card that has to be returned during office hours. Returning the entry card was an irritation.I might pick another park for multiple days. This park is in no way a "resort." This is not a destination park, it's a great place to stop by if you need to be in the area, but it's pricey, the interior roads are horrible. The pool was closed for the winter, as was the hot tub, but even if it was open, it would be locked down at 7 pm. But in order to get to anywhere in Austin, be prepared for the congested Interstate 35 traffic and anyplace you need to visit is on the other side of town. I don't think I'd stay here again, there are other parks here in Austin that aren't as expensive and are twice as nice. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Secure, quiet, private level sites with plenty of space for awning and picnic tables. Level, easy in/out with space for dingy. Tight to exit but no real problem. Close to everything, right on access road to I-35. No road noise carried through the campground. Were there for a week and loved it. Over all a very friendly staff. The roads in the park are a little narrow but the sites are large and shaded as well as large shrubs on both sides, so it give you a feeling of being alone. Trash is picked up from in front of sites daily. The only draw back is some of the sites have old utility connections requiring you to get on your knees to hook up and the boxes are sharp enough to cut you ( personal experience). This resort is an oasis of calm and shade in the middle of a concrete jungle of big box retail and development. It's conveniently located off the interstate, not far from downtown. But, we didn't notice any traffic noise while we were there. All the sites are large, level pull-throughs with full hook-ups. The campground is very secure with badge access gates and key codes on the bath houses. They offer yummy weekend breakfasts at a reasonable price. The Front Desk staff was awesome. The Passport America rate of $20 was quite a bargain (half price) for what you get. You can even buy a Passport America membership there and use it immediately. The only negative comment we can make is that the roads were a little rough and had some potholes. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a great park and the staff was fabulous. Access to the park was very easy. Maneuvering through the park was no problem with our 33 foot fifth wheel trailer. Sites were shady and roomy. We had visited this park 2 times in advance as we were looking to stay here permanently. The 3rd visit, we were told they needed money to hold the spot for us. We didn't have the money at THAT moment and explained that. They put us on a list. A few days later, we called to pay for our site. We were told then that it was already taken. We lost our house and have to live in means that we can afford. After even calling the area manager, no call back. I called again, no call back. This is after calling the corp office in Arizona. I had thought customer service is everyone's goal. Not this place. I'd never pay to stay at this place. Its in the WORST part of Austin, in the HOOD! All around the outside of this place is all illegals. Not to mention, next to a porno shop. Soooo not cool if you have kids! I told them if they do not resolve my problem, I'd call the Better Business Bureau, they never called me. So, now they are getting my poor review for NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. Price is Passport America price, normal rate is $40 a night. The roads are very narrow, and not well maintained pavement, but we had no trouble navigating them. Sites were long enough for our 34' trailer and truck, plenty wide enough, fairly level. Most sites had tall bushes between them for a bit of privacy. There are lots of shade trees. This is the first park I've been to that has a dog park centrally located, instead of stuck out in the back 40. The staff were very friendly and helpful. 150 sites and 4 "overflow" primitive sites. Was back again, had stayed in Jan '08 and rated it then - water pressure wasn't the damaging level I was warned, but like before it is nice to be told. I picked up a pressure gauge right after I left that time, so was able to stay on top of that potential problem. Was in almost exact same site I was in Jan, so same remarks hold true. Would like to see the pricing match the facility, as a little high for what you get. Can't see calling it a "resort". Staff is extremely helpful and guided me to site and lined me up as before. CATV was great and stay was short enough to not fool w/ Sat TV, used my PC's air card so not sure if or how WI-FI worked. Be sure to bring the CASH for your gate card, but I think they warn you about that when you reserve your place. An older campground that is well kept up, and in spite of the apparent tightness we had no problem manuevering into our site. The staff is VERY nice and will try to sell you Passport America if you are not already a user. WiFi is not free as in most campgrounds nowadays but at $5 a day coupled with the $15 a day campsite I can't complain. Several extended stays with only a few with too much stuff outside and under their RV. The park is next to the interstate which provides a constant source of highway noise, and is immediately adjacent to two XXX Adult viewing places which detracts from the wholesomeness. Rates are based on Passport America good for two nights. This is a Carefree RV Park. The park was well maintained. An escort was provided and pointed out trees and the side of the road to stay on when making turns. The dog run was attached to the laundry and was very adequate. There was good camaraderie amongst the campers, especially with the breakfast Wednesday through Sunday in the attached office "cafe." The location of the campground is very convenient to down town Austin. The pull-through sites were all gravel and near to level, gravel everywhere. This is probably the worst RV park that I have ever stayed in. By the style of the office building, it appears to be an old KOA. The streets are so narrow that you can hardly get a rig down them. Some sites are wider than others. Even though there were several wider sites empty, we had one that was so narrow that we could hardly get in. One slide was inches from a tree, and there was a very narrow walkway on the other side of the coach. I asked for a big rig site, but it was so short that we had to park the car across the street from the rig. We could not get a satellite signal because of the trees, and they were so low over the coach that we were afraid to put the antenna up. "Landscaping" consisted of hundreds of overgrown trees and shrubs--all needing trimming--and the leaves and mess that they create. Because of all the over-growth, the place was closed in, dark and dreary. We felt like we were in a dungeon. Sites are a chalky gravel that created a mess tracking in. I will park in Wal-Mart before I would go back to this place. We camped here in a Motorhome.

However, it is right on the frontage road for I-35 so it is a bit noisy. It had a nice dog park which was a plus. The staff very friendly and helpful. We were escorted to our site and the staff person made sure we had everything we needed. There are plantings between the sites to provide extra privacy. Many of the sites are pull through. The cable was free but there was a charge for the WiFi. The WiFi is provided by Tengo Internet and the signal was strong. The staff here is incredibly friendly and helpful! When you check in, they meet you at the entrance and take you to your site, then tell you to get set up before you even need to come back to the office and pay. They even give you a free pancake breakfast every morning. The park looks like it used to be a KOA, so it has lots of trees, and it has been nicely maintained. It IS right next to I-35, so there is highway noise, but it’s not that bad. Also, as mentioned in other reviews, it is next to an adult video place, but the park setting is so private that it’s just not an issue. Its location is extremely convenient to seeing the sights in Austin, which we appreciated. Their free Wi-Fi is excellent, and they have free cable TV as well. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is one crummy place. As other reviewers mentioned, it is right next to two porn stores, which doesn't really bother me, but it could offend others. The actual campground is tight and the roads are in a state of advanced disrepair. To call this place a 5 star resort is simply a flat-out lie. The "rack rate" is $50 a night, but there are many ways to get discounts, including a "buy 2 get 1 night free" promotion. Even at $33 a night, this campground is way over-priced. We wanted to be as close to downtown as possible, but since there is always traffic on the feeder roads to I-35, you are not really benefitting from this proximity. Avoid this place at all costs! This is a PassPort America park so we got a 50% discount on 2 nights of the 4 that we stayed. Each morning there was a free pancake breakfast. We stayed in the back of the park so highway noise was not a problem. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Let me just say that the park itself is ok. This park is suppose to be rated "Best Parks in America", however, I do not understand why they received this. Possibly for the breakfast in the morning, but that's it. We are a family of 5 with kids ranging in ages from 3-14, this campground is next door to a XXX Adult MegaPlex, you can hear at night the big rigs pulling in there and having their trucks on idle...it is located right off of I-35 and the traffic is horrible. Another disappointment was the fact the swimming pool and play ground is 10 feet from I-35 feeder, not to mention feet away from the adult "theatre". The campground is between a car dealership and the mega-plex, and the back of the park backs up against apartments. We left early the next morning. We have a 38 ft. travel trailer and a Ford F-350 and both of them together would not fit in our spot, we had to move the truck to visitor parking. The pool is tiny and is right on the feeder of I-35. I will say that if you do not have children, the place may be right for you. The bathrooms are clean and the staff is very friendly, everything would be fine with this park except the location, that ruins it. I was told that this park is the best Austin had to offer, if that's the case we will not be doing much camping in Austin anymore! Huge disappointment. This is NOT "America's Best Park". It's not kid friendly or family oriented. No fishing, no hiking. Only fun would be shopping in Austin. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We pulled in at 830 PM. We were told they closed at 9 PM and after hours check in was no problem. We were led down the road through the park by a man named Bill. He showed me where all the hookups were and invited us to a pancake breakfast the next day. ALL of the people in this park were extremely helpful and courteous. The roads were a little narrow, but they helped us get into the site. I would go back and we plan to. There is a movie theatre next door and the park is far from in a "seedy part of town". I was worried about that. We have three children and they had a ball. VERY KID FRIENDLY. A+ We camped here in a Motorhome.

Over-rated by Woodalls and Trailer Life (this park buys big display ads in the RV park guides). Old, run-down, narrow roads, several abandoned trailers, dicey neighborhood. And the The only redeeming feature is its proximity to Austin. Typical of most big cities --the economics prohibit quality RV parks. We would only use this park again if we *really* had to be close to Austin. Otherwise, stay in Fredricksburg or Kerrville and day-trip in to Austin. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We also stayed here in September, 2005 and paid $50.00/night. They did give us a 10% discount. This park's charges are relatively high, but I credit that to it's location within the Austin city limits and it's proximity to many of Austin's attractions. Also, it has very little competition. The staff was very helpful, considerate and friendly. The owner was rather surly. We stayed here a week in August after we had bought our RV. The staff was very helpful in advice, guiding us in and generally welcoming us to the RV community. It was very quiet and peaceful. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Narrow roads and hard to navigate. Very nice desk people. I believe the park is overpriced for a short stay type park. There is not actually anything to do there. We used it as a rest stop. Good security with a pass gate at entry. I believe it is more expensive than it should be. It was priced like we were at a resort or destination type park. They do offer free pancakes for breakfast. This place treats RV'ers first class. We were greeted when we pulled in and taken to a site and told to set up and get comfortable and come down to the office by 8:30pm to register. This was at 4:00 pm in the afternoon! Staff knowledgable and helpful. Had a great free pancake breakfast and the Saturday Night Prime Rib Steak Dinner is out of this world. Whether just an overnight stay or staying longer, don't pass this one up. They also honor Passport America with a smile!! We camped here in a camper.

How this park stays in business is indeed a mystery. Each camper we spoke to said they would never, ever return. The staff, from the owner on down, are some of the rudest, surliest, most obnoxious people we have ever met at a campground. When we exclaimed surprise at the price the owner said " must not get out much huh?" . It got worse from there. The $38.00 price is the BASE price. There can and will be ad ons. That an old KOA with cramped ridiculously small roads, unlevel sites, dirty facilities and gestapo like rule enforcement, that is located next to a Porno Megastore and on the main "stroll" of the area's prostitutes, can charge the prices they do is mind boggling. The ratings achieved by this park had to have been "purchased" as is evidenced by the massive amount of billboards which can be seen as far away as Oklahoma for this park.
Save yourself money and aggravation and drive on by! We camped here in a camper.

This is a really nice campground. They have permanents, but are in a different area from the short timers. Close to freeway, yet pretty quiet. Lots of nice big trees. Grounds are maintained daily by a large staff. This park is very busy. Has a nice store and cafe. We camped here in a camper.

Basically, this is a long term park. Advantage is that it is close to Austin and Round Rock amenities. Rates are all inclusive for long term stay, that is $450 a month includes all utilities and Wi-Fi. There are no amenities such as club house, pool, organized activities and the like. Mostly it is workers staying here for close in access. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We drove through this park on a Saturday. There is another comment that they can accommodate a 40 ft rig. We never saw one that could accommodate anything larger than a 30 ft trailer if that. Although the price is good for the area, I cannot recommend this park unless you are ready for many people, lots of noise and very crowded conditions. We would not consider returning to this park. It is also quite a distance outside the main part of the city and not really handy for doing the tourist thing. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice, trees, grass with paved sites, but old. No pull throughs. Rate was for a lakefront site, non-lakefront (50 feet from the lake) was $20. Plus there is a $5 vehicle fee. TV reception was excellent. No Wi-Fi but our Verizon cell and broadband worked well. Quiet except for the invasion of boats Sat AM. We didn't stay on Sunday. Park gates close and are locked from 10PM to 7AM so don't plan on staying outside the park too late,or getting an early start! Twenty minutes or so to central Austin. We will return to take in more of what Austin has to offer. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Great City park with 20 RV sites with water & 50/30/15 amp pedestals, and another 46 tent sites. Roads & Parking Spots are asphalt. Parking Spots are wide, but not real long. All are back-in. Tight Roads, but do-able. Entrance road has lots of hills and curves and is 2-lane. Roads could use some maintenance. Our site was right on the water at Lake Austin. We like staying there, just wish it was easier to get into. All sites are first come, first serve and there is an extra vehicle charge, $5 M-T, $8 F-S & Holidays. Get in mid-week & you should not have a problem getting a site. Check the sites before you pay to be sure you can fit if you are in a diesel pusher. We camped here in a Motorhome.

What a nice municipal park, right on the lake. I was there for longer than the 14 day limit - though I had to move to an adjacent site, but hey, I needed to dump tanks anyway so had to drive to dump station. I parked parallel to road vs perpendicular which allowed me to "pull thru" to both sites. I had seen someone else do it. The drive to the main road was a good 6-7 miles, then several to many miles to town. At times I was the only camper there, but it was late in year. Thanksgiving Friday to X-mas week. Staff member was initially hard-nosed about the 14 day limit, but relented when I was the only paying customer. Was forced to scale down to reduce expenses is why I chose it in first place. Can imagine how busy this place is in Spring or Summer. Monster picnic and tent area. The washrooms were just a notch above primitive but clean. Might very well stay here again sometime when not on a forced vacation. My PC's air card worked very well and was able to point the sat dish thru the trees enough to have that. Like I said, what a nice municipal park. Both my sites the 50 amp worked. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The nightly rate does not include a one-time $5 entry fee which we only had to pay once for 3 days. This campground is very convenient for visiting some friends in town, and would make a good place to generally visit Austin. However, while there are an absolute ton of non-electric tent sites, there were only 20 or so RV sites (water and electric), and they were about 60% used up (all lake front sites were used) by Thanksgiving day (compared with maybe 5 non-electric sites used in this park, and only about 20% occupancy of all other campgrounds in this trip). So this is a pretty popular, first-come first-served park. The popularity can give you some noisy camping neighbors unfortunately, which is why this gets a lower rating than other parks. Upkeep can use some work also; the lack of lids on trashcans means that trash was spread out all over the place in the mornings by hungry critters. We camped here in a Motorhome.

When we checked in, the staff were very friendly; however, the lady kept repeating over and over "No refund is given if you chose to leave early." That should have been a clue. We were in section C, and we could not level our 43' motorhome. It kept stating "excessive slope". We moved 2 times and had the same problem. Our front tires were 3" off the ground. There were plenty of other spots that looked level, and we should have asked to move, but we were tired of moving and were only there for 3 nights. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We initially were only going to stay one night passing through Austin, but after checking into the park, decided to stay a few days more. The staff are super friendly. The sites are a little bit un-level, but manageable. The pool and spa are beautiful. The fellow campers are really nice. There are some permanent campers on one end of the park, but the sites were well kept. The dog park is the largest fenced play area we have ever enjoyed in all our travels! Our German Shepherds enjoyed frequent ball chasing frenzies in the fenced acre. The only downside to this park is it is about 15 miles off I-35. The roads and turns are fine even for a big rig, but it is a bit of a travel for a one night stay. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a very nice park. The sites are long with good space between. The roads are paved and the sites are small gravel/dirt. Our site was level and it looked like there rest were fairly level also. We were in section C and it was great. The hookups were good and the people were friendly. Each site had a concrete patio with a nice table. The were some long term residents and they were all clean and neat. It is about 10 miles off the freeway but it is worth it. We would stay here again We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Believe it or not, the price reflects a Good Sam discount. Very nice park. Sites were easy to access, and the utilities were nicely done. We arrived late at night and had no problems hooking up. The sites slope up, so our back end was pretty low to the ground when we leveled out, it concerned me a little since we had a generator on the back, but we cleared the ground by about four inches. We have a 39-ft fifth wheel and had no trouble making the turns, the road can be a little steep as it winds up/down to Lake Travis. I felt like it was a little overpriced, but it was centrally located to everywhere we needed to be. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

RV rate is Rally rate. We spent 7 nights here. It is a first class 5 star resort. Everyone is very friendly and the grounds are immaculate with gravel parking spaces,concrete streets and some trees. We used our own Wi-Fi Hot spot so do not know strength of Wi-Fi signal. There are 2 large very clean dog parks and nice rally buildings. The resort location is out from town, but very near Steiner Ranch, Lakeway, shopping and restaurants and short drive to HEB, and other stores. We would come again. There is a dry spillway pond, but if filled would be very nice. Lake Travis is still without much water.. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a great campground. We live locally and just wanted to get away for a mini weekend vacation. The resort is large, well maintained with excellent facilities. Great Pavilion, two pools, and putting green. The cottages are very nice also. We stayed in B18 which is a large corner pull through. This resort is not on Lake Travis and the pond. The lake is very low. Section A is the residential area. Wouldn't recommend it. The far south section is along the storage area. I would stay in the middle. We will definitely go back. As we were escorted to our site we were asked if we preferred a site near the pools whereupon we were given our choice of 3. Nice park. Clean, climate controlled bathrooms. Quiet. Small kids playground but in good condition. Pools and surroundings were clean. Could use a few more lounge chairs. Not a fan of the adult pool so near family pool but no one got too carried away. We spent 2 months at this campground to tend to some personal business. The park is clean, very well maintained and managed. The owners are on site daily and take an active role in the day-to-day issues of the campground. Wi-Fi is extra, if you desire. Rate reflects the monthly rate divided by 30. This is a very attractive campground with paved roads and fairly large gravel sites with some landscaping. We were here during some torrential downpours and didn't think the gravel sites were a problem; in fact, they drained a lot faster than anything other than pavement would have. The free Tengonet Wi-Fi worked better than most and download speeds were in excess of 3 Mbps. Our site wasn't as level as I like, but we were able to use our jacks to get the coach level. We happened to have a tree next to us that created problems with our satellite reception, but there is relatively good free cable service. Trash is picked up at each site every day. The office staff were very friendly when we checked in. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very nice park with very friendly staff. Price includes 10% Active Duty Military discount plus all taxes. The only problem we had was connecting to the Tengo Internet wireless system. Got a good signal, but my computer wouldn't connect. My Verizon wireless hot-spot worked perfectly though. Large dog park, swingsets for kids, nice large sites with grass between each site. The pull through site that we had was about 65 feet long! Plenty of room for our 40' MH plus towed dinghy. This is our first trip to Austin, but we will definitely stay here again in the future! It is new but I question if the designer had ever been in a large RV. First when you enter park, a left turn, you see that the exit lanes are on the right side. They want you on the left/drivers side. Not an easy turn and since we are taught to always stay on the right it is something you don't expect so you will end up parking and blocking the cars parked for the office. Don't feel bad everyone does it. Since it is faded paint on drive you won't see it any ways. It needs to be reversed. Roads are paved but sites are crushed stone. Nice mess when it rains. The pull thru are built into a slope and are not really level. They are plenty long enough that a little more stone and effort would have made them level. The facilities are nice and sites are wide enough and set up well. Fix the level issue and this park is a 9. It is a shame. I would stay again but might try the back ins. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a lovely park with all of the amenities. Sites are long, level, gravel, nicely spaced apart and quiet. The dog park is large so that you can throw a ball and your dog can get some exercise. The only complaint is the cost to do a load of wash. $4.00 seems a bit much, so we did not use the laundry. We stayed for a week. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a very friendly upscale park. Well maintained and clean. Price based on 1 1/2 weeks. Daily price is $52 for pull thru - a little pricey since there really is no "resort" amenities other than pools. Private showers with toilet and sink. The washers and dryers are small capacity high efficiency type that cost $2 for 40/45 minutes. It would be great if they had a few large capacity units. 45 minutes from downtown Austin but close to other suburban amenities. Can not walk or bike anywhere due to the busy narrow, twisty road. However there is a butcher, corner store, liquor store next to the park. There are many full-timers and winter Texans that return every year who are very friendly. We would consider this park again. We decide to stay at this park for the month of December as it's a base to fly home for Christmas. The rate I put in my review is based on the monthly rate. Electricity for a monthly stay is $.15 per KW. This is a very nice park and the people in the park are very friendly. Every Sunday they put on a breakfast in the clubhouse for $5 and on Wednesday's they put on a dinner for $8. The pull-through lots are very long (approx 75')and wide (approx 40'). They have two great pools and a hot tub. I spoke with the owner and he said he built this park 3 years ago and is still busy building cabins. He said he will have 90 cabins when complete. I would highly recommend this park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very attractive entry, office, exercise room, pools, hot tub, showers, pavilion. Lots of atmosphere around the pools and buildings. We were disappointed in the fact that the Pond was completely dry and had never had water. I am weary of having things advertised and then when we get there, they are not there. I specifically ask if all of the things on the brochure were actually there, I was told yes. It was a minor thing but we enjoy having a water feature to walk around and to fish. There were enough lights at night to walk around safely. I did think that at this price, it should have been gated. Our first site was so unlevel that we could not get set up, had to move and start over. I had heat exhaustion by the time we moved, the heat register said 134 degrees outside. Don't plan on using the middle section, second row from the (dry) pond unless you have your tires off the ground. They have a special program at the office for pets. If you leave your keys and a number to be reached, in an emergency, they will go to your Coach, put your pets in a crate and take them to the office, in the event that there is a fire or loss of electricity. I thought that was great. The office staff was great. There was a minor problem at our site and they came immediately and corrected it. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The price reflects a monthly rate, but when you add electricity because of the heat (air conditioning, you know), it goes up quite a bit ($243 for a month). We liked the location--close to shops and restaurants. It was also close to Lake Travis, which generated a lot of weekend traffic (but we are not into water sports). The employees could have been friendlier (often when you walk into the office they ignore you and trying to get information out of some of them is like a comedy routine); but some (like the guy watering the trees) are very friendly. They had a lot of rules, but did not enforce them consistently (like the rules only applied to some people). Since they charged for the Wi-Fi, I did not use it. We might stay here again because of the location, but might not because of the park itself. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a fairly large park, with lots of "perm" residents. However, that being said, it is very well maintained. The gravel site was fairly level, water pressure was decent. Cable television and Wi-Fi worked well. (Wi-Fi costs extra). They also have a nice pool, and friendly staff. It would be OK for an extended stay but if we return, we will likely look for something more "campy". We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice! Friendly, helpful staff of professionals! Everything about this park is awesome! Close to the city and lake but far enough removed from the mainstream. Clean grounds that the staff clearly take care to make it inviting. Other nice RV areas in the Austin area, but we like this one the best! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Upon arrival we were given four internet coupons to use during our stay, general instructions and then lead to our spot for the next four days. This is a very clean park with a little attitude of: "We are better than the others." You will find the showers in the rec/laundry building. On the porch is an air-hockey table that your kids will beg to play for an extra cost. The pools are great: saline. One is for family, bigger, and separated by huge limestone rocks is the adult side which contains a smaller pool attached to a hot tub. The controls for the hot tub can be found on the outside of the building closest to the pools. Our site, as well as all the others, are gravel sites that level. I did not see one RV that needed leveling pads. Each site has the electric, cable TV and water hook-ups in one lighted tower pole, very nice! Each site also comes with a concrete pad with a picnic table. This is a large RV park that can accommodate any size motorhome. If you rig/trailer is more than 10 years old, they will inspect upon arrival. Garbage is picked up at you site daily from 8 - 10 am. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

One of those rare places that does everything right, from the design and construction to the friendly office staff. Big wide easy sites, mostly pull-through. Not next to the Interstate, so it's nice and quiet. Well maintained, ongoing tree planting, huge grass dog run, pool and spa. Highly recommended. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Most sites are level; electrical and water are good. The park is sort of well maintained but is having 'growing pains' - they are expanding quickly (added 6 new cottages in the three weeks we were there) and they are not yet able to handle the extra people/rigs. Here are the problems we encountered: i) sewer system in under-capacity - the leach field (next to the kid's playground!) is always wet and sometimes smelly. The shower/laundry sometimes has that sewer stench. ii) There are not enough laundry facilities. Machines are often broken or you have to wait for a machine - they need to buy two times as many washer/dryers for the large number of people in the park. iii) There are not enough garbage cans and dumpsters. Again, these fill up within one day. iv) Staff races around on the golf carts not stopping for children, walkers, pets - not very customer oriented. FYI: the pool is not heated - so all of the kids and parents crowd together is a warm little pool (size of 2 hot-tubs). Overall, it feels to me like they are trying to capitalize on the money they bring in (this place is not cheap, you pay for electricity + $5 for a 'washing permit' for your RV + $5 service charge to have propane added to your tanks) without putting in sufficient funds to over the infrastructure. We had to stay in Austin so this was our best option - but not one of my favorite parks. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a newer campground with great facilities, except for unlevel sites (which simply involves an extra step or long legs). The owners and staff are wonderful. The location is good. Having a dog park is a real plus for us. The monthly and long term renters do seem to be taking over since our visit last year, with the only problem being fewer sites available. The grounds are very well kept. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Monthly rate. This is still the only park in Austin for us. Gravel sites are wide and long with paved roads; plenty of room for bus with car trailer. Amenities are terrific - good exercise room and laundry. Excellent location in NW Austin/Lake Travis area - 20 minutes to downtown and close to Bee Cave and Hill Country Galleria. No problems with satellite or cell coverage. Only negative - many more "long term" residents than previous years. We camped here in a Motorhome.

My husband and I just pulled out this morning from La Hacienda in lovely Austin TX. This is our second winter spent at La Hacienda escaping the cold winter of Minnesota. Considering we returned for the second year that should say something for how much we liked the park. Each site is very spacious and the laundry and shower facilities are immaculate. Each site has a nice cement slab to save the mess in the coach and the hot tub is outstanding! All of the help is very kind and will go out of their way to assist you with anything you need. Most importantly the owners are there daily to make sure things are going well and they take time for their customers, making you feel like your business is truly appreciated, they are great folks! Last year the internet was intermittent but this year it was outstanding. There is a nice big dog park for our two boxer babies and everyone cleans up after their animals so it couldn’t be better. This park is nestled in the middle of great restaurants and shopping, you feel isolated (good thing for us) but within a few minutes can be picking up last minute things you may have forgotten at home. Last but not least it is very near Lake Travis and Lake Austin which are both spectacular. So, if you are heading Austin way and want a really enjoyable, well placed RV resort with great personnel, give it a try, we highly recommend it. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for 5 nights over the Easter weekend. Overall we are very disappointed having read all the rosy reviews. Upon arrival there are no designated parking slots at registration; one is just expected to park in the middle of all the traffic going in and out while registering. At the time of registration it was very clear that they never intended to give anyone a refund for any reason. Nevertheless we signed up for the 5 days we intended to stay. Leaving for our site we were guided by a fellow in a cart who led us in and out through lanes until arriving at our site. Upon arrival he pointed and fled leaving us to determine that we would not be able to use the extra long pull through for which we paid extra because the site was crowned and utilities were poorly placed requiring 2 extra sections of sewer hose. Sewer connection was on grade higher than coach outlet so hose wanted to fill with water before draining. We ended up unhooking “Toad” and parking coach in middle of site and parking car in front; fortunately site was long as advertised. We have a 40’ coach. We rely heavily on the internet and we always confirm internet availability before registering; in this case Tengo…ugh. We were given codes (for free access) and found out that the ISP would only allow one computer at a time to connect to the service. Connection was up and down multiple times over the weekend, was largely very slow, and required that wife and I share “Internet Time”. At the time of our departure the ISP login page had a message declaring the “system was being upgraded and would return in 48 hours;” needless to say we were not impressed with this park. Office hours seem to be very limited for a park this size. I had a small medical problem and tried to call office at 6:15 PM for local urgent care providers and got a recorded message. To those that are curious, the problem was solved and was minor. In fairness, many of the good things commented on by others were provided, power was adequate and stable, garbage pick-up was as advertised and there was a small patch of brownish green grass for the Shelties to negotiate their business. Park did seem to be pet friendly to the extent some dogs were allowed to wander on their own leaving deposits on our feeble patch of grass. It is my opinion that this park may rely on the “locals” for their success, as it’s located near a big lake. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for 4 days attending a Newell rally. A very nice park with daily trash pickup from your site. Some of the new 85 foot pull sites are not very level, and some may have to put the front on blocks while lowering the rear as far as it will go. I liked the park, and the management treated us like royalty. Would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We liked this park very much. The sites are very large and easy to pull into. The roads are newly paved and the buildings are all brand new. The office is large and the staff is very friendly. We paid for a pull through site with a Good Sam discount and for a big city park in high season (this is wildflower season), the price seems reasonable. No complaints. We would stay here again. This park would be a good value @ $35.00/night, not the $52.00 they charge. Very difficult to find as no roadside signs of any kind anywhere near the park. The office staff was new to the area so was of no help when called for directions. Once we found the park and got registered, we were led to assigned spot. No dedicated dog run and the staff is obsessed with their leash rules. We will make a different choice next time in Austin. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This price was for a back-in site at a weekly rate. The best thing about this campground is the size of the sites, they're long so there's no problem getting large RV's in with tow vehicles, plus there's also plenty of room between the sites for slide-outs. La Hacienda has been greatly expanded in the last couple of years so the facilities are all new and the roads around the campground are all tarmac'd and smooth. Unfortunately for a newer campground it looks scruffy. There are no sprinklers on the grass so it looks old and dead. The sites are gravel and the grass has over grown onto them so they look unkempt. The pads themselves have been done cheaply and not graded properly so as most of the sites are on a slight gradient you have to jack the RV right up - causing our door and shower-door not to close properly! There is a nice pool and hot tub area and it's one of the main reasons we came here but unfortunately the hot tub doesn't heat up properly, it only gets into the 90's. Apparently it's never worked properly! The owners state a policy of only allowing RV's under 10 years old but don't be put off, they don't seem to adhere to it, there's plenty of long timer's here that are much older. Finally be aware of their cancellation policies and don't book in for too long until you've checked it out, they won't do any refunding, even if you're paying the highest rate. The people in the office are really nice but they have absolutely no authority to resolve any issues and the owners don't allow them to call them on the weekends! For this time of year this campground is very empty, at the other places we've stayed in Southern Texas they've all been really full with snow-birders, I think this place is just too expensive for what you get. We'll find somewhere else to go next time we're in Austin. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for a month. Very big rig friendly park with many very long pull through sites. We have a bus with car trailer and there was plenty of room for our bus, the trailer, and our SUV in our spot. This park is still finishing their expansion. The lake in front of the new section is almost finished and then there will be waterfront pull-in sites. The club house and laundry/rest room buildings are new and beautiful. The staff is terrific. Austin is a great place to visit; we loved our time here. We camped here in a Motorhome.

If you don't like dogs this is not the place for you as they are treated with love by the owners and allowed in any of the buildings including the office where they are always petted and given treats. This campground is really going to be a find in the next couple of months. The new swimming pools are almost finished, the new club house and office is almost finished and all the new additional RV pads are just waiting to be opened. This will be a 1st class destination when it all gets open which appears to be very quickly. This should make a nice spot to winter in Texas, and it appears all the improvements will be ready easily before the winter arrives. We have friends at Lakeway so we will definitely make this our stop when visiting them. We camped here in a Motorhome.

They are expanding, and we had a pull thru in the new section. Site was level and very long, concrete patio with crushed stone pad. There was lots of room between sites; CG was full, but we didn't feel cramped at all. This place is going to be awesome when they get all the expansion done. One other point, when I called to make reservations, I was told it was considered a holiday because of Republic of TX motorcycle rally, and there was a 3 night minimum. I told the owner we were not bikers, just coming to see our daughter and wanted to try their CG, so she was nice enough to only charge us for the 2 nights we were going to be there. Great people in the office when we registered. We will be back. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Most of the park was still under construction when I stayed for the month of April, 2008. Very nice long and wide sites in the newly opened "B" section, not so much in the older "A" section. New "C" section should open by late 2008 with new main buidling, swimming pool and propane station. Near Lake Travis in far northwest Austin, nearby to all services. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We enjoyed our stay at LaHacienda RV Park. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. The park is very well kept and extremely clean. The showers and laundry were immaculate! Though the park is now small with 60 back-in sites and 6 cabins, and has primarily adult campers, they are in the processes of expanding to include about 190 new sites. I would recommend this RV Park for adults visiting the Austin area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Beware! No Refunds! Do not give this place your credit card and say you might want to stay more than one night because they will charge up as many days as you say you might want to stay and then refuse to refund any money after you see the place. Do not be fooled by the old we are totally booked full better reserve now routine. I would rather dry camp in a WalMart parking lot than feel totally ripped off. If not for the iron-clad no exceptions on refunds, this park might be OK. I will say the park was clean and well maintained. The entry road is paved, but very narrow. The slots are very close together without a concrete pad, just hard packed dirt with some grass. Most slots are not level and slope the way that makes the front of your bus 3 feet off the ground so you break a leg stepping out the first time after auto-levelling. The sewer hook-up is almost underneath your neighbors picnic table and vice-versa, very poor planning. Nice clean laundry mat with showers and they even provide an old iron and board. The park owners were very nice until I asked about a refund, then the attitude changes to that of a junk yard dog. We will not stay here again. We recommend you look before paying to decide if you want to stay, otherwise you can kiss your money good-bye. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We have stayed here twice and loved it both times. Somewhat on the small side, but certainly large enough to hold our 45' Prevost Bus. Very friendly management and work kampers. Located about 20 minutes west of Austin in a rural setting. Very close to Lake Travis. They have plans to make this a bigger park and we'd highly recommend staying here. We stayed in the gated area of the park and inn for two days. Our slot was by the small laundry. Sites were nice with trees and grass. The lake is close by. Folks were friendly, and my site was a back in site, and the staff was very helpful getting it safely docked. The rating reflects that while the campground is nice, it is expensive for the services delivered. Cautions: There are no circuit breakers on the power dock. Note there is no store, restroom/shower facilities, or propane, and the cost is higher than we are used to. This is a mixed community of long and short termer's. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for 2 months. CG managers on site and helpful. Very scenic hill country area of suburban Austin and convenient to Downtown (20 min.) Some good wide and deep shaded sites and others are little tighter, but most are excellent. Paved CG roads, and good grass areas at sites. Lots of full timers here with dogs, whose owners do not clean up after. We have large dog and scoop every time. Other extended stay owners don't seem to abide by same rules which were stressed to us at sign up. Wi-Fi reception is OK depend on location and tree cover. No LP gas available at CG. In motorhome have to disconnect and travel 7 miles to get, very inconvenient. No CG store and need to travel only 1/2 mi. to store. Laundry clean and newer units, 3 wash and 3 dryers. No other amenities at CG, but would camp/stay again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very nice spot with great staff. Though it doesn't have public bathroom, shower, store, & propane gas. It's got large grass area and trees. Close to downtown Austin. The foggy morning in this park is breathtaking. The fogs are so thick and you find your own RV yet, it is so beautiful. We will definitely come back. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We had purchased the Texas State Park annual pass for $70 which gave us four 1/2 price camping nights. Without the pass, there is an additional day use fee of between $4 and $8 per person per day which makes the camping rates at the state parks too high. We had site #14, a water and 50 amp electric paved pull-through level site. The site was nice and large and we were able to get a satellite signal. This is a very nice and quiet park during the week. Great hiking and biking trails that would be better if they were marked more clearly. Beautiful, natural setting with two waterfalls. Very nice and clean bathrooms. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a great state park with lots of amenities about 15 miles south of Austin. The sites are spacious but most have a slope. We were not able to get our 40' RV completely level. There were other spots but we wanted site 12. There is a paved 3-mile walking/biking path around the park as well as other walks, historical sites to visit, and picnic tables on the river. It is pretty remote and the closest Walmart and shopping is a minimum of 5 miles away. Lots of trees and grass at most sites and not all sites were satellite accessible. They charged us $31 a night but added a $6 per person per day entrance fee. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This delightful park is just on the outskirts of Austin. The sites are very nicely spaced with water and electric hook ups and an easy to use dump site. There are lots of trees, and some sites have lovely shade. With the drought, the trees aren't as green, they tell us. Hopefully this year, they will get some rain. If you have dogs, hold on TIGHT. There are herds of deer in the woods. Our lab almost tore my arm off in the dark last night when she smelled or saw them. I would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed in site 29, a nice pull-through with no low-hanging branches which abound here. No Wi-Fi, but there is good Verizon coverage for a hotspot. No cable TV at our site and poor over the air signal. Great trails to the falls and lots of birds and deer. Staff were very friendly. Quiet during the week, but fills up on the weekend, but quiet at night. We have been using the Texas State Parks Pass which saves a lot in the long run. There are very many parks in the state. This is a nice state park. Its a great place to stay near Austin . If you have a big rig you need to choose your site due to trees, some of the pull through sites are tight for a longer rig. This is a beautiful Texas State Park. Lots of really nice campsites with decent space between sites so you don't feel a lack of privacy. Park staff was very friendly and helpful and took the extra time to make sure I received a campsite I would like. Located on the southeast edge of Austin, shopping, restaurants, and attractions are nearby. The park has great hike and bike trails and Onion Creek flows through it. We stayed here five nights and would liked to have stayed more. We will definitely be back. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a really nice state park. Near Austin, a good location to start from for many side trips. Only drawback is some sites not real level. You also get some air traffic noise. Park staff are friendly and helpful. Would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Still at the top of our list for state parks in Texas. Wonderful park with miles of walking trails and so may beautiful places to sit and enjoy the wildlife and peace. Some sites require leveling. Ours did but my parent's didn't. The power was dependable without any interruptions. We had many deer and even a fox visit our site during our 6 night stay. We love that this park is so close to all Austin has to offer but when you are inside the park you have a hard time imagining the major city outside it's perimeters. It's that peaceful. We would camp here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We're big fans of Texas State Parks and this one is no exception. Staff is friendly, surroundings are beautiful and it's close enough for easy drives into Austin to see the sights. Like many of the Texas parks we've been in, some of the sites are not very level, but we had our choice since it's not very busy in mid-December. Our last time in Austin we stayed at Lone Star but this suits us much better. We will definitely be back. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Great scenery, bike trails and wide open sites in a fairly quiet location near Austin. Good jumpoff location to San Antonio riverwalk and the Alamo. Wi-Fi was at hotspots only. We camped here in a Motorhome.

There are about ten 50amp sites. A handful are semicircle pull-through sites in which an HDT and Fifth wheel (65') could fit. Site 19 is across the street from extra parking for an HDT or extra vehicle. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice park and very convenient to the city of Austin. Onion Creek flows through it and plenty of wading or swimming places are available! Very busy on the weekends for day usage. Nice visitors' center, hiking/biking trails, and historical walks. Good WiFi at the visitor's center! Very family friendly and plenty of wildlife to see around dark! This is a very busy park and due to all the rain in the area this spring was really grown up. I guess they hadn't had a chance to mow and/or weedeat the sites yet. There were nice hiking/biking trails. We saw some deer. The staff were very helpful and professional. We had reserved a 30 amp site, but could have gotten a 50 amp when we arrived, but since we really didn't need the 50 amp service this time of year still went with a 30 amp site. This price is site cost only as we have the Texas Park Pass which covers the daily entrance fee of and additional $5.00 per person/day. We had to pay $5.00/day for an additional vehicle fee and had to park at the restroom area. This park extremely strict about vehicle being on pavement. It is a nice park and is a good meeting point for us and daughter's family so probably will camp here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This was our second trip to this park. The close proximity to everything Austin has to offer without being stuck in a private RV park with no where to roam can't be beat. We stayed in site #20, which was level, roomy and had a beautiful old oak tree to enjoy watching the birds and squirrels run around in. There are plenty of walking and bike trails to enjoy and the river is flowing again since the rainfall has returned to this area. Most sites are big rig friendly and have ample space for slides without the interference of trees close to the pad. The park ranger and staff was very friendly and helpful. The only improvement that could be made to this park is sewer hookups, but sometimes you can't have it all. We will return again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Only lack of sewer prevented this park from a 10. Older well treed park with large sites, well spaced out for privacy. In spite of trees we had no problems with satellite reception. Loads of birds, but they made us remove our feeders due to strict no wildlife feeding rules. Near to Austin for sightseeing. We would return. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We camped here for 4 nights. This park was great. It has miles of hiking trails, a nice waterfall, and tons of nature. We saw a pack of 9 deer when we first drove in. The sites were clean, restrooms mostly clean, and the trails were very clean. Getting to Austin requires a car or a $25 cab ride. We loved the city. We would stay here again. We enjoyed the hiking and biking on well marked tails along the Onion and Williamson Creeks. Big rig friendly in one loop (Sites 1-40). However, much tighter in the second loop. There are good facilities for all to enjoy. The location is close to downtown Austin and the airport. It can get noisy but overall not bad at all. The Rangers are young green-horns that tend to be a bit over-the-top with the regulations! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We've been here a few times, we also have the state parks membership. Close to Austin, lots of nature around, some of the sites are difficult to back-in if your rv is 30 or more feet long, but doable. Always lots of wildlife, accommodating staff. We usually stay here if we are going to a UT football game or the Pecan Street Festival is in town. Looking forward to it again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Great place for being close to Austin, yet in-the-country feel! Onion Creek passes right through the park & you can swim/wade near the Falls (if it's not closed due to high bacteria count). Nice level concrete pull-through sites with shade, woods, deer, playgrounds, etc. HOT water for showers! Very popular park so make reservations early! We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

The park front desk personnel were not too accommodating or pleasant the day we arrived. Our pull-thru site was nice and large, but wasn't much selection for sites... we got lucky. The park had nice paved hiking trails, although there was one spot that has a steep incline and bicyclers came roaring down while we were walking up. Nice fishing spots by the falls area. One day that it rained we went into Austin to a mall and the State Capitol as our nephews had not been there before. We saw deer near our campsite. I camped here with my husband, 2 nephews, and 3 dogs. Not a bad park, but just wasn't one of my favorites so far. We drove from Fort Worth to camp here. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Way overpriced for what we got. We had two sites for a one night stop. Pull throughs are curved and impossible for a 30' trailer. We fought two of the pull through sites and finally found a back in site just deep enough to hold us. (many would not). We were there just to spend the night, but we did call the office about 15 minutes prior to closing. They assured us they had 55-60 foot pull thrus but didn't wish to take the time to assign us a site. Park was hard to find at night due to lack of signs. We will not stay there again. If Texas rest areas can offer Wifi, we should have had it for free for the price this park charged. If a family was staying several nights and knew ahead of time what type of site they would get and arrived during the day, the experience might be totally different. This campground is just minutes from downtown Austin and all the typical places tourist like to visit. The park is located in the woods and most sites are wooded. This are two three mile hiking/biking trails located within the park, as well as Onion Creek runs through the park and has two smallish waterfalls. Fishing is allowed as fishing within all Texas state parks is free. The Smith Visitor Center is open on weekends except during the winter. It costs $4 per person to camp or use the many day use areas. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Terrific place to stay. Trails, history, close to attractions in Austin, friendly staff, beautiful small waterfalls to swim and fish at, Indian rock shelter. Can't say enough about this place. We stayed in a tent but will be returning to stay in the pop up for the 4th of July weekend. One of our favorite spots. Even though you are very close to everything in Austin, this park makes you feel like you are miles away. We camped here in a Tent.

This is an old park with lots of permanent residents. However, we found that all the facilities worked, the families there were quiet and pleasant to be around. Lots of children, but very well controlled. Laundry room was large, clean and well equipped. Price was excellent for the area. Our Verizon worked well here, so we didn't use the WiFi. However, there is WiFi for free in the park if you can get it. We could not as we were in a back row. We paid for a week and the price reflects that. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The management was friendly to us and our site was easy to find, right in front. Location is convenient to downtown Austin (basically a 10 minute drive to the Capitol) and is fairly urban, so it's probably better suited to use as a "home base" for those looking to explore Austin than a park to spend much time in. Our site wasn't a pull-thru but was easy to back into. Lots of long-term residents in the park, it appeared, but they all seemed friendly. We didn't think the noise level was bad, though it's not far from the airport and it is located on a major road, so light sleepers may have a different experience. Again, if you're just looking for a home base, this worked well for us for the 2 nights we were there - it was easy to come and go, and we didn't have any problems. I will warn you though, bathrooms and showers aren't necessarily "dirty", but are a pretty beat-up...we used the trailer instead. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

What a delight! We were only there two nights and used none of the amenities as we were there to visit family and friends in the area. Very convenient to downtown. The park is beautifully maintained, concrete roadways and level pads. No problem navigating with 60-foot F-250 and 38-ft 5th-wheel. Bathrooms were immaculate! Quiet. Verizon was 4 of 5 bars. First time out with new fifth wheel and the managers made us feel very welcome and were helpful in many ways. Stayed two weeks getting comfortable with our set-up. Rate is based on PPA and AARP and combinations. There are concrete roads and pads and is big rig friendly (our toter and 5er is 65 feet.) Class A's and such have no problems. All utilities worked like they should and there is a good selection of cable TV programs through tw-cable. Bathrooms and showers are clean and modern with private bath, toilet, and shower (4) in coded separate rooms. This park will be our base when in the Austin area. Good location for going to the city and events at the Expo center which is just down the road. Will stay here and recommend this park.this park. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice park, we stayed three days on Passport America and one on Good Sam to get this rate. This park was convenient for our needs. I feel the park could have used a good grounds crew to do a walk through just to pick up small trash that has accumulated in areas. I also think longer term campers are allowed to put too much junk around their sites. They do have some strict rules here, which is good. If in the area I would stay here again. With just a few minor issues this park is a 10. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Rate is a combination of Passport America & AARP. I am surprised there were so many previous 9 ratings - don't think previous visitors walked around the entire park. The first few spaces, reserved for short-timers, are nice - no doubt. Pull-through, fully paved and level, cable -- nice flowers, green grass, trash picked-up at your site. But walk to another row, where the permanents and long-timers are parked, and it's a whole, different story - a bit junky. On the positive side, there is a pool & hot tub, large book exchange, 4G Verizon, and an area to grill and eat. On the "could use improvement" side, clean-up the park and learn some customer service skills; a welcoming smile and pleasant disposition is always nice. Also, a bit noisy at night -- road noise and park noise. Not sure if we'd stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall a nice park. Unfortunately the management is not particularly responsive to requests. When I made my reservation, I requested a shady site. And when I checked in, I politely requested the most shady site that they had available. The guy checking me in replied, "When it's 105 degrees the shade doesn't matter." Well, maybe not to him, but to me it does. He put me in a site with virtually no shade, even though there were shadier sites available. Other than that, I enjoyed my stay, and would otherwise have given the place a 9 or 10. I loved the fact that there was plenty of places to walk my big dog. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We have stayed at this park three times both in a travel trailer and more recently in a motorhome. This is an excellent park for the Passport America price of $24 during the week. The park is very clean and the people in the office are helpful. It is also very quiet at night. the park is several miles from the people we were visiting but it has always been worth it to drive a bit further (Round Rock). Great park with friendly staff. We’re staying here for a couple of months in between trips (we fulltime) and the “daily” rate reflects everything: full hookups and electricity. Park is close in to Austin downtown, UT and pretty much everything else you’d visit Austin for (ACL, SXSW, Biker Rally, Rodeo, etc). Very impressed with this park, one of the best we’ve stayed in. It is pet friendly with 3 very large fenced in areas to let your animals play while you sit and throw the ball and enjoy your favorite beverage. There is also a very large walking area with field that is good for letting the dogs off leash to thrown frisbees or balls for the dogs to run. Across the street from the park is yet another area for pets to run freely. WiFi is through TengoNet which can be frustratingly slow (we use MilleniCom instead). The premium sites are concrete and very level. The water pressure is very good, electricity consistent w/no problems, spikes, etc. The bathrooms and showers are immaculate, water pressure in the showers is great, each shower having two spray heads, one fixed, one on a hose. Very nice pool area, club house with outdoor patio. Laundry mat is very clean but rather high priced with small drums, AND they don’t have change machines nor will they give you change at the office. Best bet is to go to the laundry mat down the street and use it: also very clean with VERY large drums and inexpensive. This park is a mixture of long term and short stays but all managed well. The park is very well taken care of and nicely laid out. Very easy to maneuver our coach (40’ tag MoHo) and we’ve seen 45’ pull in easily. Check-in/out easy and quick: call ahead because this park fills up quick! We’ll definitely stay here anytime we come back to visit friends. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The previous reviews have covered the campground very well. It is a very nice campground with exercise room, pool, hot tub, barbeque area, daily trash pick-up, small store, nice library, very clean facilities and nice long pull-through sites for those staying a week or less. There are back-in sites for those staying monthly, and in one section of the park are the people living here permanently. All of the park is very clean and neat. Should you want to cook in the barbeque area, you can use the gas grill there. Just clean up after you are done. A nice touch. We found this campground very convenient for touring Austin. The capital, the Bob Bullock History Museum and the LBJ Library are all within 8 miles. REI, Whole Foods and the Lady Bird Lake are within 9 miles. We would definitely stay here again. Regular rate is $44 – awfully pricey for east Austin, but Passport America at $22 for five nights and AARP at $30 makes a brief stay reasonable. The park has all the amenities: gorgeous pool, hot tub, patio area, small store, book exchange, 2 laundries, large 3-section dog park, paved roads, some concrete pull-throughs, some back-in gravel sites, pedestal hook-ups, cable and wifi included in the rate (although the Wi-Fi is Tengo), well-lit at night. Although this is a beautiful park and would rate a 10 if not for the location, next time we’re in Austin, we’ll likely stay south or west of downtown rather than east. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Sites are nice and long, level, concrete pads. They are a bit close side to side. Interior roads are paved. Lots of permanents, but they are quiet and friendly with nice rigs. No junky ones. Office staff was friendly. Great place for visiting Austin. Price reflects one day at Good Sam and 3 Days at Passport rate. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Newer park. Large, level concrete pad, pull through sites. FHU/50amp, cable TV and WiFi all worked well. Well maintained grounds, rest rooms and laundry. Nice pool area and exercise room. Many long term residents, but all grounds neat and well maintained. Most of these sites were gravel. Area outside the park is not the best. No traffic or train noise. Very quiet at night. Great Passport rate. We would stay again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We were given one of the 26 short-term sites and they gave us incorrect directions, so we were parked going the wrong way and couldn't use the sewer hook-up. Also very tight turns going through this park, as they have lots and lots of trees. It was very quiet and quite full, so must be a popular spot. They couldn't give us 2 nights or we would have probably stayed longer. Quite a ways from city of Austin (30 minutes or more). We would probably not stay for that reason, as we were visiting friends and family. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The personnel at this park were great and worked hard to accommodate us. We had a pull-through concrete site. Good satellite and plenty of room to park our car behind our coach. Trash pick up daily at our site was a plus. Good location in relation to the city. Rate is reasonable and reflects 2 nights at $22/Passport America rate and 2 nights at $30/AARP rate. Good water pressure and 50 amp power. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for 4 nights while visiting family in Austin. Great campground for visiting Austin. Close to town but not right in town. Quit a few shade trees, concrete pads for the site and a deck with a picnic table. Wi-Fi worked great. The staff was friendly and helpful. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The overnight and weekly sites are in the front, and have long hard pads. There is a nice pool and office area. Has a good laundry and exercise room. There is some shade, and a good amount of space between most sites. Not much in the immediate area, but 5-7 miles will take you back to I-35, or into Austin. This area is rural with some industry and a little rundown, but it's quiet and safe. We stayed two weeks and it was a good location for our plans in Austin. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We checked out several parks. This is probably the nicest park near Austin. The actual location is about 7 miles east of town in a semi-dumpy industrial/residential area. The interior roads are paved as are the pads. Each space has a grass area and a wood deck and picnic table. Most are semi-shaded. There are a lot of seasonal and permanent residents but they are in a separate area from the over-night sites. The park drains very well in heavy rain. Flooding and mud are not a problem. The price is with a Passport America discount. The utilities were fine. The wifi was only average speed and reliability. The pool and hot tub were in excellent condition and not over chlorinated as in most parks. The bathrooms and showers were spotless with hot, high pressure water. Free coffee in the office was very good. The fenced dog park was small and seldom used while we were there. Our GPS said downtown Austin was 13 minutes away but we never made it in less than 25 minutes because traffic is so bad. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I've seen posts say this is on the "bad" side of town. Well Austin has done quite a bit since this was the "bad" side of town. This park is one of the best in Austin. We live about 80 miles from Austin and on occasion pull our 5th wheel over for a few days. We've stayed here three times. Two times for concerts at the Erwin Center and at Stubbs for Rancid. The pool is great, there's an exercise room and private climate controlled bathrooms. Everything very clean, well manicured sites are level and management was friendly. We found this place kind of by accident, we needed a place to stay in Austin and McKinney Falls was booked. I'm glad it was. We will be back. While in town head over to Juan in a Million for The Don Juan breakfast tacos featured on the Travel Channel show Man vs Food. It is on the East side on Cesar Chavez not too far from this place. I love Austin!! We camped here in a Motorhome.

I can't find anything wrong with this campground. The lady in the office was lovely. The site was great, long and wide. The wifi was fast. My rooftop satellite got a signal. The other campers were friendly. There were three individual little dog runs, where they could be loose and play which is much appreciated. The place was clean, mowed, just a really great place. If I wanted to spend a month or more I would be happy here. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Rate is based on Passport America. There are 134 monthly sites and 26 daily/weekly sites. It is best to have reservations as the park fills quickly. I have rated it an 8 because we don't know if we have ever stayed in a 10 and want room to improve. The staff were very helpful on the phone, and very cordial in person. The sites are very near to level, cement, and plenty of room in the pull-through for a 40 foot motor home and towed vehicle. The dog run is very large and affords puppy a great place to go to. The facilities are all in good maintenance and the grounds are clean. There is an exercise room, although a little small, but still, it is available. The pool area also has a hot tub at 103 degrees F. Trash pick-up is daily out in front of your unit - or you can take it to the dumpster on the way out of the park. I reviewed this park last year during a construction phase on site and with a huge construction project going on next door. Both projects are finished and this is a great place to stay now. This year, we're up in the nightly area and wifi is good, staff is pleasant, park is well-maintained and the proximity to DT Austin is very good. My only beef is that grocery stores are few out here, but the rest of the package more than makes up for it. Our rate is based on Passport America. You do not need an AARP card to get the best rate as was implied by the previous reviewer. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Rate reflects Passport America weekly rate. We enjoyed our stay at this park. The location is away from major highways and pretty quiet. It only takes about 15 minutes to drive to downtown. It is an attractive park with many large trees in and around the park. The sites are concrete and level and the roads are paved. The short-term sites are all spacious pull-thrus located at the front of the park. We were able to use our satellite TV. Although the park provided free Wi-Fi, we used our own Internet card. The facilities, including office, pavilion, private restrooms, spa and pool are all brand new and very nice. The only reason I didn't rate this park a 10 is that the new pool is very tiny. The grounds are maintained well and there is nice landscaping with shrubs and flowers in the public areas. The longer term guests are located in the rear part of the park and have their own laundry and restroom building. This area of the park is more shaded, crowded and not as attractive as the short-term area, but seemed to be generally well maintained. There were just a few very old units that had been parked there way too long. We definitely plan to return to this park whenever we travel to Austin. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The rate listed reflects a monthly rate. I think this place would be nice if you were staying a few days, as the short term sites are in the front of the property and very nice, though the construction next door is noisier from those sites. The monthly sites are in the back and share facilities (laundry room and bathhouses) with the adjacent mobile home park. I was ogled and whistled at several times by some unsavory characters hanging out by the facilities, which didn't increase my comfort in this park. The manager is possibly the most unfriendly and least accommodating person I've dealt with, though the staff is very helpful until the manager finds out and nixes anything bordering on customer service. We ended up leaving here to go to a different park in the area because we were so unhappy with this place. Long term sites are tight and marginally level gravel, drive into downtown involves a road with a lot of traffic lights and stop and go. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

First off, the WiFi is NOT parkwide. I'm currently 100 yards from the office and not receiving a signal. While the park is very clean and well-managed, it should be noted that there is a huge construction project going on next door (a new school) and the noise is offensive in that they start at 6AM and work until 6 or 7PM, 6 days a week. I do not enjoy being woken up every morning by the sounds of back up alarms from the various equipment driving around the site. Also, the laundry and rec rooms are closed as they are under repair. While I'm sure these problems will resolve themselves over the next few months, those who intend to stay in the near future should be aware of these issues. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is our second visit to this park. Managers are great. The WiFi is now park wide instead of just the office. WiFi is consistent and not spotty, but slower than most. Concrete level slabs and most of new section has concrete streets. Some sites have trees and some don't. The hot tub and pool are very nice, open 24 hrs. The nice laundry, bathroom and workout room were closed for repairs, but to reopen in 2 weeks. This park is a good bang for the buck. Our rate was for PassPort. Not really close to grocery stores and stores like Walmart, etc. Eat at Donn's BBQ on hwy 969 for good cheap breakfast. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

As most others have reported, Oak Forest RV Park is the place to stay in Austin. Great park, nice long (and wide) concrete pull thru's with nice grassy areas and shade trees at the sites. We had a site opposite the office, so Wi-Fi was strong. Great pool and hot tub, very clean, and well kept, with plenty of new lounge chairs and tables. The showers,restrooms,laundry and exercise rooms were closed for renovations - so should be nice for the next time we visit. There is another facility for usage while this one is closed. Staff very friendly. We stayed for a week, and had the Passport America rate hence the $22.00 rate. A very good deal. The owners makes sure the permanent residences keep their sites tidy, so that is very nice to see, when walking thru the park. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is an excellent park! The staff are friendly and professional and the grounds are clean and well maintained. The pool and hot tub area is very nice and does not have a closing time. This was particularly welcome as it gave us a chance to have some adult time at the pool. The park is located about 8 miles outside of downtown Austin. This was great for us because we have a scooter on a rack instead of a toad so being that close to town and being able to take surface streets was perfect. We will definitely be back. Overall, this is a nice campground. Our first site was under the oak trees, which didn't allow us to use our satellite internet (the branches were also dangerously close to the top of the rig). This was only a problem because their wifi only works in the area immediately surrounding the office. We moved later to a site that was both open for satellite and close enough to get the office wifi. The laundry facility is nice, but rather small given the size of the park. The pool, bathrooms, and other amenities were all very nice. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice, clean park with helpful, courteous staff. I used Passport America and received half price for the entire two weeks I stayed there. The park is about 20 minutes from Austin and convenient to most locations. The only complaint I had was that it was noisy...there's a lot of non-park traffic on the access road and the full-time residents seemed to feel it was important to leave diesel engines running while they checked mail and did other errands in the park office. Otherwise, no complaints. The individual pads are cement, level and long with nice green areas and plenty of trees (but no tables). Cable TV is excellent and pet facilities great. I enjoyed the visit and would stay there again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a quiet, clean park located 10-15 minutes from the capitol area of Austin and the UT campus. Dogs have a fenced in area that is 100 foot long, plenty of room to run and have fun with the other dogs in the park. They also have some great woodland walks for the dogs. The pool and hot tub areas are great and opened all hours. The laundry area is very clean. The monthly renters all have nice landscaping around their rigs, you can tell they take pride in the campground. This is a great place for the Austin area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is the best place to stay in Austin. You don't have to get in the stopped traffic on 35 to get to the UT campus or to the Capital or 6th street. It is located in a quiet section 10 miles from Austin. The landscaping is very nice and the club house is set up in a western theme with a public computer or free wifi for the laptop user. The pool/hot tub area is very clean. The best part of the park is the 100 ft dog area where the dogs give this park top paw. There are also dog walks through the woods. Pet owners here are very nice about cleaning up - if there is a bad pet owner that doesn't clean up you usually see the good pet owner pick up after them. The staff cleans the grounds every day. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is right in the middle of the city of Austin on Barton Springs Road which is called restaurant row. The park has a lot of permanents and only about three overnight sites so if you plan to camp here you need to call for reservations about three months ahead. You can’t reserve online. The price includes full hookups, cable, and Wi-Fi. The owners really had great suggestions of what to do etc. Sites are right next to each other. Check in was quick and so informative. There are many cute restaurants within walking distance. The city bus stops across the street and for a $1 they will drop you off and pick you up in front of the Visitor Center on 11th. The capitol, music district, museums, University of Texas all within walking distance. One can bike from the campground to one of the bike trails by using the sidewalks and it is an easy ride. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Location, location, location! What more can I say. This place is in a great location - close to downtown, hike/bike trail, shopping, restaurants, you name it - it's close to everything! But don't expect a pristine park. It is very quaint, tight spaces (we couldn't get our awning out more than a few feet), but the neighbors are friendly, polite, and the manager is very helpful. Most residents live there and some RVs look pretty run down. We have a 38' 5th wheel and a dulley club cab truck and they both fit snug in the space. We loved waking up every morning to the birds singing - didn't even know we were downtown Austin. We also felt extremely safe in this park. We stayed at Pecan Grove for a week and would love to be one of the permanent residents. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Pecan Grove RV Park will not be everyone's "cup of tea". But, if you understand, believe, or embrace the local saying, "Keep Austin Weird", or if you have a tie-dyed shirt with that slogan on it, then you will appreciate Pecan Grove! Pecan Grove RV Park is located directly across Lake Lady Bird from downtown Austin on Barton Springs Road – very convenient to Austin's music scene, Barton Springs Pool, and the location of the Annual South-By-Southwest Music Festival. It is an older RV park – a direct step back into the 1950s! There are only about 10 overnight rental spots out of over a hundred spaces. You must call at least a month or two in advance for a reservation (unless you are VERY lucky). Payment is accepted as cash or check – no credit cards. The park does not have a website, but try looking at: http://www.maliasmiles.com/texas/austin/PecanGrove.htm. The park is densely wooded with pecan trees and associated squirrels. The full-time residents are all very friendly and very eclectic – musicians, artists, writers, a clown, and a few senior citizens. You will realize this shortly after entering the park as you pass an art sculpture of a six foot high coconut tree done in green, yellow, and blue neon light tubes. There is no pool, but Barton Springs is easy walking distance. The bathhouse is again from the 1950s (cinder block construction) but is very clean. Washers and dryers are available at the north end of the bathhouse. As an older park, the overhead electric, cable, etc., lines are low-hanging, but I had no problem clearing them with my 12' 8" high fifth wheel. The spaces are definitely for older trailers – Robert assisted me in parking my 39' fifth wheel at a diagonal in space 52! The interior streets are narrow but passable. The cable TV is excellent with 68 channels and Wi-Fi reception was very strong (and free!). The park is pet friendly, but they do insist that you pick up after your pets! Many of Austin's known restaurants and music venues are within easy walking distance from Pecan Grove. The city bus ($2/day pass) stops at the entrance to the park. To access: From I-35, take the Riverside Drive exit and proceed west on Riverside. Turn left on Barton Springs Road. Once you cross Lamar Street, the park will be on your right at 1518 Barton Springs Road. To exit the park, turn right on Barton Springs Road and continue on Barton Springs through Zilker Park to MoPac Expressway. Go south on MoPac to Texas Highway 360 (left exit) to return to I-35. We will camp here again . . . soon I hope! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We needed to find a place to stay for our grandson's graduation party at Star Hill Ranch. Tried all hotels/motels on 620, 71, and I35, but all were booked. I found this on this web site. It was right down the road from Star Hill Ranch. Check in was quick and our site was gravel, but large and very level. Our 40 foot fifth wheel and 2 cars fit easily. Also had a picnic table. Didn't use them, but the laundry room and restrooms were clean and had AC. Nice landscaping. Very close to the Hill Country Galleria for great shopping. Lots of full timers, but it was very quiet. It was great for us. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a nice clean well landscaped park. Site was level gravel with concrete pad next to RV. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice park very conveniently located in the Bee Caves area about 20 minutes north of Dripping Springs. Quiet place on a hill, very clean and well run. Staff was always available and very busy keeping things cleaned and well maintained. Laundry room was very clean with new machines. We had a pull-through site on top of the hill near the laundry/bathroom building. Lots of full time residents, but all had clean sites and all we came in contact with were friendly. Good electric, water and easy sewer hook ups. No cable but were able to get all the Austin TV stations over the air with no problem. Convenient to shopping in Bee Caves area and tons of restaurants. Near Pedernales Falls state park and Hamilton Pools park. About an hour or so from Fredericksburg, and close to Austin. We used it as a base while visiting friends in Drippin and will likely stay here again on our next trip to the area. Access is best from Hwy 71 or Hwy 12 from the south. Hamilton Pool Road west of Hwy 12 gets very narrow and twisty and not very accessible for larger trailers or motorhomes. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We enjoyed our stay. It was convenient to everything we wanted to be near. Grassy/cement pad at our site. Clean, safe. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We had no problem accessing our site. We were visiting friends so we did not spend any time at the park except to sleep but it was nice and quiet when we were there. They have rental cabins that looked very inviting. They had a few long-term residents but the sites were tidy. We would definitely stay here again due to it's proximity to Austin and Lakeway. We camped here in a Motorhome.
