Wow, this is a fantastic park. The bathrooms look like they are right out of the finest hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They have a lot of activities, and is in a great location. We were very impressed in the park overall, The owner knows what its all about, wish other parks were as nice. If your in the area, really stop and enjoy, we did. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Rate reflected 5 nights, two at regular price, and three at the special 3 day rate of $77.00. Park was very clean. It was the first place I've been hard pressed to pick out the "extended" stay guests. All sites were kept neat and clean - no "pack-rats". Staff was friendly, helpful, and very knowledgeable about the local area. Lots of antique shops in town. As usual, a couple of dog owners can't comply with the leash rule, but their dogs usually stayed within their camp area. They had 2 nice fenced dog runs and offer "dog doo stations". WiFi was great, very strong and fast. They offer cable TV. There was an underlying noise from a pumping station a couple of blocks away, but it wasn't troublesome. There are trains that go thru town, again, didn't bother us. Roads are gravel, but pads are concrete and level. They offer a nice little fishing pond and a 9 hole mini golf course. Small playground for kids, no pool, community fire pit, and nice little store. We would not hesitate to stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Above rate reflects small group rate ...we had a rally w/7 rigs present. The small rally building was a great facility & management was very easy to work with is setting up the rally. Streets are spacious, sites are easy to get into, good slabs and utilities. Everything was in good repair and management was very visible and responsive during business hours. We had an AC problem in the building and were unable to find anyone to help after hours, but the next morning they were extremely responsive in getting things working. We definitely would return here! We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed here for almost 2 months. Overall the park is very nice. The owners are very friendly and helpful. They have regular events at the park such as campfire cookouts, breakfast, and craft shows. The park is clean and neighbors were friendly. We had our 5th wheel at the very back of the park, which made the internet rather slow. The water pressure was not very high, but acceptable. Laundry room and restrooms were very clean. We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We stayed here with a rally. The rally building is beautiful. The park is well maintained and the staff is quick to fix any problems. The cable splitter at our site was a little worn and they replaced it immediately. There are few trees, the omnipresent nearby train (do they build RV parks without trains nearby?) and an industrial area on one side that is a bit noisy during the day. There is a small selection of RV gadgets and snacks in the office store. The free Wi-Fi was excellent. The cable was fairly extensive and had HBO. I had excellent Verizon Wireless 3G service. The park is very, very clean. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park is basic; I can't really complain, but can't really rave about it either. The "lake" is a man made pond that was nearly dry. Many of the sites are occupied long term. The park is neat, staff at check in was friendly. My major complaint is the gravel roads are very dusty. I also found it interesting that while the rules say no vehicle washing the camp hosts children offering to wash vehicles; people had their pets in the restrooms and smoked in restrooms in spite of rules. Not sure I would return to this park. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is one of the best new campgrounds. It is just beginning to be a very good campground. The management and employees act like they are glad you are there. Give this place some time and it will be a 5 star place to stay. They are really making it a nice place to camp. I would recommend this place to stay to anyone. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Fairly new to the full time RV game but have stayed at RV camps I would not go back to. Feel very fortunate to have come across this RV camp and the pictures on the website do not do it justice. ALL pull through sites with level cement landing, cable, Wi-Fi, sparkling clean restrooms, laundry and showers which are cleaned everyday. Staff is great: all of them. Extra's provided with entertainment, security, morning coffee/donuts twice a week, pancakes, etc., and very reasonable rates. This RV camp deserves the highest rating. No, I am not related and I call them as I see them. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
I don't give tens easily but the Owner goes way out his of way to make your stay pleasant. I commented that I take a major RV Park point away for trash pickup and my trash was picked up daily. I can't say enough good about this park. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The previous reviews are quite accurate. We, too, paid $14.50 with Passport America. Level concrete pads, a picnic table on concrete, and very open for satellite. Friendly staff. Sites are angled for easy access. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
A very pleasant stay. We had some special requests and they acted like it was an everyday occurrence. The owners and staff are the most friendly people we've met in a long time. The rate was based on a weekly rate. We will stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Passport America price was $14.50 a night. A little off the beaten path if you want to overnight while traveling I-20, but it is a nice park. Love the long sites and concrete pads (and lots of space between sites). Open for satellite - trees in the way are not a problem. Good gravel interior roads, easy to find with a large sign marking the entrance. Escort to our site. Plenty of maneuvering room for our 40' coach/toad. There was a rally here, so there must be rally facilities. We would have no problem staying here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
A new park with level long concrete pads, all are pull-through, wide spaced with grass and concrete patio with picnic bench. Sparkling clean bath house and laundry, free WiFi and cable. The only thing to make this better would be for paved streets. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. We camped here in a Motorhome.
In spite of what the last reviewer said, we think this is one of the best campsites we have stayed at. They had everything we like: 50 amp, cable TV, Wi-Fi, level concrete pad sites, friendly people, etc. It is a relatively new campground and there are few trees and the grass is sparse. They are working on it and it will be better in the future. The $12.50 rate was the Passport discount, but $25/day and $105/week is still very good. I would have liked to stayed longer. We would definitely stay her again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Dirt and loose rock roads that become mud/muck when it rained a little. Not allowed to rinse the mud off with campground water. The mowing pelted the truck and trailer with rocks. Good concrete pad for the trailer to sit on. Truck parked in the mud. The wonderful sound of large industrial diesels all day and night. Very easy to find. Tight roads for getting into/ out of site. Good space between sites. Overall experience undesirable but safe. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This was a very pleasant surprise. It is a superb RV Park that is relatively new. As more and more amenities are added I am afraid this park will become very busy. The people in the office seemed genuinely glad that we were here - certainly nice to be greeted that way. They offer free cable TV (with HBO) and free Wi-Fi (that worked) The price reflects Passport America discount. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a very nice RV park. The padded site and padded picnic table area were great. We had a long dog walk area, with plastic bags and trash can available. They also had a fenced area for the dogs to run in. They had very clean restrooms and shower areas. The owners and staff were very friendly and very helpful. Very good location, close to town and area shopping. We would certainly come back again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is a new park nearly complete in construction. The sides have concrete pads and concrete patios with picnic tables. They are very roomy, lots of space between rigs. The bathrooms and laundry room are beautiful and clean. There is a fishing pond to be stocked with fish for catch and release in the future. The staff and owners are very friendly and helpful. The cable and wi-fi work very well. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Wonderful campground. Well maintained, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. This was our 2nd time staying there and would highly recommend this campground to our friends and family. There are very long, wide concrete pads to park your rig and an attached pad for the picnic table. There is a wide well maintained grassy area between the sites. The roads in the park are well maintained. The entrance and exit into the park are one way and narrow so you have to be very careful when turning in and leaving the park. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a very clean park. All concrete pads and roads. Staff was very friendly. Power and water was good. Pool was closed, but hot tub was open and well cared for. At this time of year all f the concrete was nice, it helped with the heat. But in the summer months all of the concrete has to be very hot. We would stay here again if in the area We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
As previous reviewers stated, entrance is a little narrow, but not really a problem for me. Exit is also a little narrow, but it is a straight line out of the park. I have stayed here several times, and have never dragged entering or exiting the park. The pull through sites are very long. The Wi-Fi works great. Staff is very friendly. Clubhouse, restrooms, and laundry are exceptionally clean. Rate reflects PA discount. Will definitely stay again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is a very pleasant park on a hillside overlooking the golf course. The sites and roads are all cement. There isn't a lot of grass, but it is still a very nice place to stay. Would definitely stop here if we are in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a very nice park. Everything is either new, or very well kept. The spaces are all concrete, as are the roads. The entry/exits are a little difficult, but we did not drag when entering or exiting. We have a tow car, and did not have a problem. The office staff is very nice and helpful. The park is convenient to services and major highways. We camped here in a Motorhome.
It has nice spacious sites with concrete pads. The park is clean. The staff is friendly. The water quality is horrible with sodium and total dissolved solids content off the charts. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Entrance is narrow and steep. The exit is also steep and the coach or our toad may have scraped bottom. The Wi-Fi had a strong signal and excellent speed. Our site was all concrete for a positive change. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Overall this park is really nice, that is if you can get in and out without dragging bottom! The entry and exits are very steep and with a shallow bottom: we lost our back stabilizer jack. So be very careful! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This park is only 1 1/2 miles north of I-20, very easy access. Very long pull throughs, nice pool, a fine place to spend the night when travelling on I-20. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a nice park with paved sites. We would have rated it higher if the sites were level. The adjacent golf course is a nice golf course. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very nice park. Individual restrooms with showers were immaculate. Arrived after-hours and other guests were helpful with the after-hours registration process. Adjacent to golf course. Construction on the road made access more difficult. GPS directions were off by one exit. Would stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This is a first class park. It is located near the interstate between Tyler and Longview. It is clean and well maintained. The internet is really strong. My kids were able to stream Netflix most nights. The staff are friendly and helpful. When you are out of propane just leave the bottle out in the morning and it will be returned full that afternoon! Highly recommended. This is our preferred park when we are in the area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Guess the park is starting to show its age some. Previous park personnel were very friendly and even escorted us to the site and made sure we were happy before leaving. When they drove around park always waved and said hello. The present ones take your money and tell you which site you have. The restrooms and showers were not very clean (mud on floors and in showers, mold on shower curtains, lots of soap scum on walls). Laundry room has new washers and dryers, but did not use due to them needing to be cleaned and disinfected (had a petroleum odor when lid was opened). We have stayed several times before and the office/restroom/showers were really clean and spotless. The floors were clean enough to see yourself in and shined. There is also road construction going on in front of entrance to the park. It is doubtful we would stay again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is a well maintained park with long concrete pads. There are small patches of grass between the sites. We had a pull through site. Laundry, showers and restrooms are clean. Staff is friendly. Although highway 135 is undergoing construction, access to the park is easy to negotiate. Our rate of $16.50 is the Passport America rate and is a great bargain for such a nice campground. Some trees have been planted but do not provide shade yet. The porch rocking chairs provide a pleasant view of the golf course. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We stayed here for 2 nights. All cement roads and RV pads, picnic tables, and generally well cared for resort. We used our Passport America card and got the 1/2 off rate. Construction on Texas 135 in front of the resort, but they had wide driveways and we had no problem getting in or out with our 40' motorhome. Very friendly staff, and escort to the site. We would definitely return. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Seems to be a new attitude in office, not good. A big change from a year ago. They seem to be trying to get all monthly types in, a lot already in now. Some spots have severe slope, almost impossible to get level. WiFi was marginal. Very weak signals. Utilities are good. Has all paved roads and spaces. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This very well-kept park is located several miles north of I-20. Upon arrival, visitors are informed of both park and storm safety regulations and then guided to their sites. Unlike many other parks that supply only basic cable services, Shallow Creek offers several premium channels. I downgraded this campground for several reasons. First, the grounds are almost entirely concrete. While this was not a problem when I stayed there in the early spring, it likely increases the heat level during the warmer months. The park is located close to Texas Highway 135, which is heavily traveled by trucks. Things will probably get worse in the near future, as the road is currently being upgraded to a multi-lane highway. The Wi-Fi service provided is very poor. Users are forced to go through a cumbersome log in process repeatedly due to an inactivity timeout that is extremely short. In addition, the speed of the service is only marginally acceptable. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Price reflects weekly rate. Owner is very nice. Long paved pull-through sites and some back-ins. Rural setting next to a golf course. Road out front is under construction. Entrance is the north drive. We would definitely stay again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
What a nice spot. Stay a night or a month or longer, it is perfect. Large pull through sites, good electricity, water, cable TV, open to satellite and convenient. Great place with golf, a hot tub, all the goodies. We camped here in a Motorhome.
A wonderful location with fabulous concrete sites, and friendly helpful staff. Love the clean sites and great walking area next to golf course for the dogs. Always friendly and helpful. Will come back every time we are near this park! We camped here in a Motorhome.
The park is all cement, small grass areas, but extremely friendly helpful staff. Swimming pool and spa are nice. We have stayed at this park a few times because it is right next to a golf course. We take our pull carts and walk to pro shop; then grab a cart for the course. It is quite hilly and close fairways. The golf course is a terrific 18 hole with small pro shop and restaurant. Excellent mid week rates. We camped here in a Motorhome.
A very clean, quiet park in the country with long pull through sites for big rigs. All sites have concrete pads with a patio and picnic table. Work campers were so friendly and helpful. Would recommend this park highly. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a neat park that is a hidden dream. A few full timers on site but a lot of rally's come here. We try to stay a week at a time and the cost is $150.00. The nightly rate that is shown is an average for the week. They accept Good Sam's discount. Large pull thrus with full hook ups most sites very level with concrete pads and a small grass area at each site. Nice hot tub and pool. Dan and his wife Simone are the park managers and you cannot find a better couple that is dedicated to helping their clients have a great rv experience. We will be returning in May 2009. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Nice park 1/2 miles off I-20 near Kilgore. Good concrete roads and huge concrete pull through sites but not real level. At least the site I was on wasn't. Friendly staff and you are guided to your site. The cable TV leaves some to be desired with only 16 channels and some being pretty fuzzy. It appears to be a park cable system. The wifi didn't work when we got here but it was up in a short time and they came by from the office to let us know it was up. The price listed is not the Good Sam price. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is a well-maintained park with long concrete slabs, picnic tables and small patches of grass for each site. The hot tub was very nice, with strong jets. The pool wasn't open (no surprise) but looked attractive. Instead of having separate men's and women's rooms, there are four individual bathroom/shower rooms, two of which are handicapped accessible. All four are huge. You can sit in rocking chairs on the porch at the office/facilities building and watch golfers tee off on the course below. The owners were very friendly. The Wi-Fi and cable worked very well. It was easy to find off of I-20. The only reason I took a point off was that there is a lot of road noise from State Route 135. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park truly deserves a 10 but I took off a point because it is a pain to locate. Web page directions are a mess and the first time we called from Gladewater the staffer who answered gave us incorrect directions. Had to call back after some tight turns with our 40' and tow to get better directions. Once at the resort, we think it is truly a place to stay if you have things to do in the area - sites are long, level, paved, and wide; laundry, showers and restrooms are exceptionally clean; grass is green between sites; trash free; and very friendly and helpful owners. We certainly would stay again if in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very nice park. They are doing concrete repairs to maintain the excellent appearance and overall quality of park. Wi-FI works well. Will definitely stay here again We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Stayed 1 week at this great park. Very friendly staff and well maintained grounds. Only negative I had was the cable TV reception was not good at all. Will definitely be back. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed here as an overnight stopover. All of the services worked as advertised. It was no problem getting in and out. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
A very nice RV park for long term or over night. It is pretty with the large trees and golf course around the perimeter. The area is clean and well maintained. Company mowing lawn could do a little better. The sites are wide and long with a nice grassy area between sites. Patio in front of site--picnic table at each site. Free Wi-Fi had good signal. Pool is very pretty. There is a nice sized room for guests to use or for rallies. A very friendly park. Adjacent golf course is not the best--needs attention. We will certainly stay again if in the area. Passport America accepted during the week. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is our second time we have stayed here. The first was in Oct of 06. This is a beautiful park on a hill overlooking a golf course. The RV Park and the Golf Course are not owned by the same people. The sites are on terraced roads giving it a nice appeal. All of the streets and pads are paved, but there is not a paved patio area. When you step out of your camper, you step into the grass. The sites are very long though. Plenty of room to have your patio area in the front or rear of your camper. There is in ground sprinklers that water the grass early in the morning, so if you leave anything out, it will get wet. We have never been here when it was warm enough to swim, the pool has always been closed. There is a nice hot tub that is always open. The only caution I would have is don't park in the row next to the golf course because some rigs do get hit with stray balls. The lots farther back are nicer lots anyway. We will stay here again when we are in the area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is a wonderful park! I live here on a long term basis and I couldn't be happier. Many other residents are here for an extended period of time as well. The sites are nice and large. I have plenty of room to set out pots of flowers, chairs to sit in, and other items with enough room to get around well. There is a problem with mud near the edges of the sites because the landscaping company has been spraying weed killer to avoid trimming the grass near the sites. The park host says that he has asked the company to stop doing this so hopefully we will have grass soon. The sites are sloped but I don't mind that because it gives me enough room to walk underneath the nose of my fifth wheel without ducking. The people here are awesome, the facilities are awesome and I just can't say enough wonderful things about this great park. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We are impressed with this park. All concrete drives and parking pads. Good wifi signal. We are 65' long and have no problem with getting around in the campground. Overall this is a nice place and located on a nice golf course, although we don't golf, it looks like a nice course. Good for a few nites. Not much going on in the campground itself. Lots of 1 niters. We were here for 10 days. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very friendly staff and clean facilities, next to a golf course. The only reason this park is not a 10 is there is some road noise at night. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is the fourth time we have stayed at this park. It is just an easy day drive on the way home from Tulsa to Alabama. The sites and roads are all concrete. The pull-thru sites can be a challenge to get level because they slope to the front. The price includes the Good Sam discount. This is also a Passport America park. We will definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We have a dually/36' high-profile fifth wheel. Our pull-through site was excellent. Plenty of space, open and easy pull throughs. What a pleasure to visit such an immaculate, clean and tidy park! Friendly, helpful staff. Had the park been in a destination location, would have scored 10! We only stayed overnight but would definitely stay longer next time. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Nice park. TL and Woodall's perfect ratings questionable. Mostly concrete with a few small trees. Sites not level, park slopes to provide drainage. Road noise is quite loud. Many monthly/permanent RVs, did not seem to enforce park's rule of no RVs older than 1995. Very friendly, helpful staff, nice facilities. Laundry quite messy and un-kept. Water extremely soft and hard to deal with. Free wi-fi good at times, poor at times. Shopping, golf, several restaurants within 25 miles. Definitely would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Very clean and well run park directly next door to an 18 hole public golf course by the same name. All sites a full cement slabs. As well all entire roads are cement. Friendly staff and pet friendly. Park is 1 1/2 miles off I-20 or about 130 miles from Dallas. Free shuttle to golf course. Highly recommend. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
What a fantastic RV park! The park, including the pool area, laundry, bathrooms/showers, is so clean it almost sparkles. The new pool they added is so nice. It is not a huge, commercial looking pool, rather it is a normal size, very nice looking pool with a little waterfall. It has a nice smooth finish so it is easy on the feet. The park has nice wide concrete pads to park on and little grass areas next to the pads. The pads are wide enough to allow you to enter and exit your rig from the concrete. There is cable TV, telephone (with voice mail), and WIFI (good speed) at NO EXTRA CHARGE! That alone is an amazing thing and worth the stay. There are 4 separate restrooms each with a shower. This works out well for couples like us with a baby as we can use it like a family restroom. One of the other reviewers complained about the traffic noise from the road, but there was no issue with us. We could not hear the traffic at all other than when we were in the pool. There is only a couple of sites that I would think could have an issue with the traffic noise, but the traffic was not even that bad on the road. We had never been here before and yet the owners treated us like we were old friends and they were glad to see us again. They made us feel very welcomed. I hope we have an excuse to stay here again in the near future. By the way, did I mention how clean this place was? We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Very nice, clean, well laid out park. Easy in/out access of sites for a big rig. Immaculate laundry. Well stocked store and very friendly staff. Well worth the stop. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This was our second time to stay here. Excellent campground. They have added WIFI so that is a plus! We will stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
They changed the entrance - it is very narrow getting in now. Hot tub has been added and they are putting a small pool in at the campground. Staff is nice and the sites are improving as the trees continue to grow. Biggest down side is the noise from the state highway which is CONSIDERABLE at night and echos up from the road to the campgrounds. We camped here in a Motorhome.
One of the better RV parks in the state. Fairly new with super long sites. Park sits above the golf course with wonderful views, and above the bugs. The only complaint is the mud. The sites don't have much grass yet, so when they water or it rains, the sites become a mess. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Yes this location will be very nice, but it still has some work to get there. I found the modem very slow and the staff agreed. The cable has very few channels so I had to set up the dish. My biggest gripe is the pool. It's at the golf course club house and not at the campground. You must drive back out on the road to get around the golf course, to get to it. It was October so it wasn't an issue, but it would be in July. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
If there ever was a 10, this is it! This campground is immaculate with amenities equal to
the finest country clubs. Instant phone access is included in the daily site rental. Cell phone access is excellent. Satellite connection was easy since the trees are very young. All the pads and picnic table areas are concrete. It doesn't get any better than this - jacuzzi, biking and hiking trails, driving range, 18 hole golf course, restaurant, and a beautiful club house with lots of fun things to do. This place does have an age limitation on RVs permitted to camp here, so if you have a very old rig, don't even try to get in. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Camped here in a 5th wheel in april 2004. Very easy to find (1.5 miles off I 20) and very
easy to navigate in. Entrance road and separate exit road. Very friendly and courteous staff. Owners are around most of the time and always checking on you. They have spent quite a bit on this rv resort and are planning on adding more sites on the golf course. The golf course is on two sides of the rv resort and guests get a 10% discount on green fees and cart rentals. site are large and concrete with some landscaping in between. The park has only been in business about 10 months so they still have some works in progress. The club house and other facilities are very clean and new. The staff goes out of their way to make you feel welcome. Would recommend this park to anyone and will return there. It is the best east of Dallas. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
