Alley Creek Camp on Lake O' The Pines is a Corps of Engineers campground with many RV pads lakeside. (Number 22 in Area 2 is great!) Grounds were well kept, employees very friendly and helpful, restrooms clean, swimming beach clean and sandy, RV pads level with picnic table, fire ring (bring firewood) and lantern post. Lots of trees and shade. The weather during Spring Break, 2007 was perfect, but I would think that heat and bugs would be significant during July and August. Has a very nice tent camping area. Excellent campground overall. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a great COE park! We have stayed here several times. It is mostly filled with weekenders, lots of kids, boats, and the like. It is on a busy, great fishing and recreational East Texas Lake! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We have stayed here several times, they have really nice sites. It is probably overall, the cleanest park we have been to. They even clean out the fire rings! We like it, and we will for sure be back. They have wooded, shady sites, and non shady sites. They have water front, and a little ways off of the water. We didn't use the bathhouse, but a lot of people were. Nice COE park. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We paid more for a water front sight, the others are a little cheaper. Very nice park, within 15-20 minutes from a larger town. Beautiful sites, nice staff. Mostly back in, but they are large, we have a 32 foot 5th wheel and a long wheel based F-350. This is our 2nd time here, we will be back. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Army Corp of Engineer Park - Single RV, double RV, RV/Tent, and tent only sites. Very nice staff on site. Website says closed from end of September until March, but I believe that was last year, I think they are open all year round. Fire rings, bathrooms and showers, bring your own firewood! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Solid Corp of Engineers Park. Hard to get a premium site, but you could still see the lake with our rear site. Well maintained and great lake, however, restrooms and shower were unclean but it was Memorial Day weekend and the park was packed. I will go back. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Well managed and maintained COE park. Many very long, level, concrete sites. Three camping areas for RV's; two are reservable, the other is first-come, first-served. Separate camping areas for tents (some of the RV sites have tent pads, also). Not all RV areas have 50 amps, but all have at least 30 amps. Rather difficult to use a TV satellite here due to the tall trees. Lovely park. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a beautiful and well maintained park. We have stayed here numerous times this year and last and will continue to do so. The sites are level and wide. The people are friendly, and the kids do not take over the park. We will be going here for a long time to come. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We stayed at Brushy Creek Park, part of this state park. Just beautiful. Level sites which were large. Sites placed far enough apart. Sunsets are the greatest. We used our Golden Age Passport which made us actually pay $7.50 per night. We camped here in a Motorhome.
