Very nice clean park. The staff were great and very helpful. The only problem we encountered was a large mud hole in the middle of our site. The lake is nice with new fishing piers. The boat ramp is closed due to low water conditions. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
I like the Texas State Parks, however, they are beginning to show some age and it seems there isn't enough money to modernize them. This one is very small but out of the way and quiet. One word of caution. If you have a trailer or fifth wheel over 30 feet, there is only one loop of campsites that you can get into and even then some of those sites require some careful maneuvering. Here as in every other state park, the ranger and office workers are among the best and are very cordial. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Nice park but limited sites for trailers over 26 foot. Nice park to tent camp and pop-up camp. Nice hiking trails and historic neat town close by. Looks like it was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
