We spent one night here. The showers and bathroom were not usable. The location has a wonderful view and a nice walk about over the marsh. The City pool is on the edge of the premises but not open this time of year. The RV park area was clean and well lit. Because it is a public park there is a lot of foot traffic and vehicle traffic coming and going to use the playground and access the beach area. I would not feel comfortable leaving my site and leaving any personal items outside. I will not stay here again. The fee must be paid in cash or check. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park is very nice and kept up. It has a beautiful view of the water. It is located in a convenient spot where you have access to everything in town without the noise of city streets. The people who run this park are very friendly and easy to get along with and make every effort to make you feel at home. I would recommend this park to anyone who passes through this area. We actually lived here from Sept. 2011 through Feb. 2012, and this management here has an attitude problem. Appears religiously biased. Then the place floods, oh they keep saying they will put some rock down but the sites are close, full of weeds and floods when it rains. The wi-fi is so so. The rest rooms are cleaned when the lady feels like doing them. Most who stay here don't keep their sites cared for also. Not the worst, but not the best. There are better for same price. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Rate reflects Good Sam discount. Pull throughs are 50 amp. Good power and great water pressure. Sites a little narrow but 80' long. Site is level. Good roads. Sprint works good here. Nice laundry if you need one. This is a city park, but very well managed and maintained. Nice semi circle pier good for walking. Pool is actually a YMCA pool so there is a $4.00 charge unless you are a YMCA member. Great location with beautiful views. Will stay here again next time in the area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We stayed here for a week while visiting friends. Being right on the water was a real plus here. There is a nature preserve at the park with a long boardwalk that I used each morning. There are 8 pull throughs that are limited to 7 days. Another section of back-ins were full & seemed to be long term campers. Another section, right on the beach (30 amp), had covered picnic benches. Since this is a public park the restrooms were OK but park like equipment with no showers. There is a social room for campers only with a better rest room. Camp hosts were all very nice. We certainly return here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Well worth the money. Roads and pads are concrete and level. Great Wi-Fi and cable TV with 60 plus channels. Connections where in good shape. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Only draw back is they are city owned and you can only stay a week at a time. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Stayed here for a week in a 22 footer in a pull through site. Roads and pads are concrete and level. Great Wi-Fi and cable TV with 60 plus channels. Connections where in good shape. Sites look right onto the bay and you are about 50' from the water. Great fishing pier and bird walk. They have back in sites that are right on the beach. Laundry and club house is in good shape. Staff is perfect! This is a city owned RV park and they limit your stay to one week. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Very easy overnight stop, not a block off our route. Had a pull through site. Great view of ocean, friendly staff. If going east from here towards Galveston Island purchase your fuel across from the RV park. We did not see any RV fuel stops for 45 miles. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a city-owned park. Does not take credit cards or make reservations. Cash or checks only. We paid by check which was accepted with no problem. We stayed seven days, full hookups, 50 amp service for $116. The park was in excellent shape, clean, very well-maintained, paved parking slab with a patio and picnic table. The park is actually part of the bird sanctuary. The Wi-Fi was outstanding - just as fast as my cable modem at home. There is a raised, wooden, half mile walkway over the marsh. There is a bird watching gazebo about halfway around the walkway as well as a fishing pier into the bay. Park management was very friendly and helpful. Definitely will stay here again! We camped here in a Motorhome.
Wow, nobody else mentioned the road NOISE on the highway right behind the park. Especially between 5:00-8:00AM. Everybody is going to work in their noisy trucks. Also the sites are very tightly spaced. Other than that it's a nice little park. Full hook-ups, clean, good view of the bay, etc. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We camped here for one night as we were running from hurricane Ike. Nice long pull through spots and friendly staff. Restrooms were boarded up so we could not use them. Nice view of the bay and an informative board walk telling of the wildlife in the area. Easy on and off the highway. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Great little city park with a very nice RV set up. Sites were clean (each had cabana along the water). Waterfowl viewing along the water and a boardwalk-style walking path along the marshes. Nice volunteers; friendly. Great find for an overnight while passing through. Better maintained than some so-called RV resorts. We camped here in a Truck Camper.
Waterfront sites were great. Large lighted fishing pier. Beach right behind the RV
(waterfront only sites), nice playground for children. Only problem we had was no entrance gate, lots of people driving through on weekends, but we would
stay here again, real nice. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Definitely a very nice, clean, new RV resort. The cleanest restrooms and showers I've seen anywhere. It's not cheap, but you get what you pay for. Very nice fitness center, kitchen, laundry, meeting room, park store, etc. Nice lake in the center with concrete walkway all the way around. Bath houses front and rear of park. And it has gates that close at 6pm. Yes, its nice. The only thing keeping me from giving it a 10 is something they can't do anything about and that's, location. It is bordered on two sides by very busy roads with considerable vehicle noise. And one of the roads has an EMS ambulance office located on it, so you get sirens at all hours of the day and night. If you want a peaceful, quiet, spot in the wilderness, this would not be for you. The other thing that would help this park would be for more landscaping in the form of maybe palm trees and flowers. It's a new park, so most of the trees and bushes are going to take a few years to grow. Don't look for shade because you're not going to find any. Would have been nice had they planted large trees between campers. It does have nice grassy areas between campers and plenty of space between neighbors. It has a lot of positives. I personally was very impressed with it and like it despite the road noise and the need for some more trees and shrubs. Love the large concrete pads and roads. I hate parks where you have to park your RV on grass or gravel. I would recommend it for anyone to give it a try. If it's not your cup of tea, fine. But you simply will not find a newer and cleaner park than this. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This is a nice park, and would have given it a 10, except for lack of information when checking in. We were given our space number, and the lady at the desk pointed to the right with her finger. We were not given any park layout, and didn't know we needed a security number, to get back into the park after (we guess) around 5:00 PM. It was confusing as to what to do with trash. After driving 300 miles, it is so nice to get clear instructions at the registration desk. Even nicer, in a class A park like this one, is to use that Golf Cart we saw parked at the door, to guide you to your site. Places to eat are very limited. We highly recommend Main Street Grill. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a brand new park, very pristine and well thought-out layout. The clubhouse is second to none. The pool and recreation area are sparkling and the owner/managers were extremely helpful. We didn't fish in the lake, but it was handy. Best kept secret in South Texas. We camped here in a Motorhome.
It is new and easy to get to but for my 45 ft MH it was not level front to back..like many new parks they put too much slope to get the water to run off the pad. If I went fully level my tires in the front would be off the ground. Other than that a nice park. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a new park in Port Lavaca. The sites and streets are all concrete with very good spacing between sites. The park is very clean, quiet and the sites surround a very beautiful lake. This park is first class all the way. Only thing that would make it better would be if you could pull nose first, into the sites around the lake (of course only with a motorhome), so you had a view of the lake out your front windshield. We would definitely come back. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a brand new RV park with all sites situated around a small lake. The roads are paved and the sites are concrete pads surrounded by grass. Utility connections are excellent; Wi-Fi was lightening fast and there is a plethora of cable channels. The club room is enormous and is absolutely the nicest I have ever seen. The pool (unheated) and hot tub areas are very attractive. There is propane available, a nice laundry room too. The owner is pleasant and is working hard to make this park a great place. Downside would be that the trees and shrubs are in their infancy and it will take nature some time for things to grow. We camped here in a Motorhome.
