When arrive to check in the girl in the office was not a friendly person to work in that job. We never did go in because she told us that we could not leave before 8:00 am because the gate is locked. Ask about a safety factor for medical or wild fires,, how would you get out. She said that the person responsible lives 4 miles down the road. Now in a emergence how long would that take her to get the gate open. We have never camped at a park that locked the gate and the campers could not get out. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We love to camp at Roaring Springs Ranch Club. You need a membership to camp here or be a member of Coast to Coast. Members have a key to the front gate so you'll have 24 hour access, in or out. Golf course and some secluded rv spots. In February, we had the entire ranch to ourselves. The pool is spring fed and maintains a balmy 56 degrees year round. Best used on those 100+ deg Texas summer days. You can't imagine how many stars there are in a Texas sky until you visited a place like this! Please do not plan a trip here....we want it to ourselves! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This campground was a surprise, to say the least. It's out in the middle of nowhere. However, it is very nice and even has a golf course. Some of the campsites are right on the course. There are a couple very small towns within 10 miles, but if you arrive on a Sunday, most of everything is closed. We would stay here again, but unless we want to just commune with nature, not for too long. Not much to do in the area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
