Their website says they opened in 2005. Judging by the weeds around some of the RVs and vehicles, I'd say some of the spots have been occupied continuously since then. For the price and the expectations, we were very disappointed. After a rain, the main loop road was muddy, my shoes were a mess. There was only enough gravel on the pads to keep you from sinking. With the grass growing up through the gravel, I had a hard time figuring out where the pad was. We were there on a Labor Day weekend and had to pay for 3 days minimum and left a day early. It just wasn't pleasant. The park is a work in progress at best. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Quiet campsite (winter kept everyone indoors) with a weekend park tour that's really great! The Guadalupe River is nearby and worth the river walk. It's convenient to San Antonio if you're looking for city life. Laundry facilities, however are scarce. Small communities nearby are quaint and worth the visit. One problem which cost us dearly (the $500 deductible on our insurance) was an electrical malfunction at our site. Our in-line tester nicely shut down the power before too much damage was done but we lost an $800 TV and required $225 repairs on our water heater. We reported the problem to the rangers, were advised to move (we did) but were disappointed to see that another camper was on the site a day later during a holiday week when repairs were likely not available. Unfortunately, the site number is not in my reservation record (it's assigned when you enter and I think it was 54) so I cannot provide accurate specifics about the problem location. I just hope they've fixed it-it was an expensive stay! We camped here in a Motorhome.

We enjoyed this park quite a bit. The big draw, of course, is the river, which was pretty low and wouldn't support canoeing which is what we originally hoped to do. We did a few park programs (star gazing, dragon fly 101, all about bats) and the staff was just outstanding. The park interpreter was great with the kids and was an excellent communicator. The camp site was relatively level and the site layout was nicely wooded. The sites were a bit close for my tastes, but not a huge complaint. The office sells ice, which is good, as the nearest store is around 10 miles out. Nearest wal-mart is 17 miles or so, one way. Although we camped in the RV spots (pop-up camper), we checked out the tent only walk up area and thought it looked really great. Some excellent hiking down to the river from the tent sites would make this a great spot to tent camp. We'll definitely go back. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

We simply camped for the day setting up trailer in Turkey Site. Great area to get away for the day and hang out with family. Lots of hiking, bicycle riding, reading, and ball sports. We are looking forward to spending a few nights here. Wide sites, picnic table on cement, and plenty of room between campers. Although river is low, there are great views of rock back drop along the river. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is an excellent park. The river is perfect for playing in. The water is safe for children. There are picnic tables near the river with barbecues if needed. The scenic view is amazing. There is a vast array of animals and birds you can spot throughout the park. There is lots of shade at your site. There is a nice little playground nearby as well. Hiking as much as you want, or leisure stroll on paved smooth roads that are awesome for bikes as well. You are accessible to many attractions nearby in New Braunfels, San Marcos and other nearby cities. Highly recommended! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

The sites are gravel/asphalt back ins, and most are level. Ours happened to have the front wheels off the ground to level, but others appeared to be more level than our site. The campsites are very secluded with trees all around and difficult to see your neighbors. Each site had picnic tables on a concrete slab, lantern stand, fire ring and a fairly level tent site as well. You need to bring another vehicle to haul your tubes and rafts down to the river launching area. The river picnic area fills up quickly on the weekends so get here early. During the week it's not very crowded. It takes about 40 minutes float time to leave the park, then 20 minutes to hike back and do it again. The park is also conveniently located to Fiesta Texas (about 20 minutes), Sea World (about 30 minutes), the Outlet Mall in San Marcos (about 35 minutes), and Cabela's (about 45 minutes). We hit all of them in the 6 days we were here. The main draw back to this park is the lack of individual dump facilities and 50 amp at the site, particularly for extended stays. The restroom and shower facilities were old but well maintained. We enjoyed the stay and will come back. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We just stayed here mostly so we could go to Fiesta Texas. This park is about 25 minutes from Fiesta Texas -- a short little drive really and the price is good! Partly shady or mostly shady sites, and a river to play in! River is WAY down but still flowing and clear. Burn ban still enforced, but you can have small personal grills for cooking. We would definitely stay here again! We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

Park was very clean and the staff was courteous. Sites are large and level, with utility hookups well positioned. It is a bit of a hike to the river. I would advise driving if you're carrying ice chests, small children, etc. The park by the river is well appointed with restrooms, a playground, and numerous pick nick tables. There was a total burn ban in effect, so no fires were allowed, not even for charcoal grilling. Sad, but this part of Texas is experiencing its worst drought in 50 years. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice Park. River has lots of picnic tables, and places for adults and children to swim and play in the water. Fishing was excellent. Campsites have good seperation from each other. Campsites are a bit of a hike to the river, but should not provide much difficutly for most. Bring you own firewood, bundles provided by the state are small, five pieces of wood per bundle, it's cedar, and did not burn very well. We camped here in a Truck Camper.

This is one of our favorite state parks, and always try to stay here at least one night while in the area. Wide roads, sites are all back ins but very large and secluded from other campers. Lots of trees. River is not @ the campgrounds but within hiking distance. River front has picnic tables and very pretty. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a state park. Sites are huge, only back ins, no sewer but park has a dump station. Camp sites are not on the river, but within hiking distance. The river area has tables, bathrooms and plenty of fishing areas. Camp sites are paved with a picnic table on slab, fire ring and a tent area for tents. Television is not available unless you have your own dish or setup. Roads are wide and paved. This is a good park just to get away and enjoy nature. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park was OK and we would consider staying here again if we are in the area; however, our back-in site was very unlevel, tight and not big rig friendly. The area was muddy with little grass. The restrooms and showers were very clean. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a beautiful Texas State Park: some sites had water and electric while other sites had just water. No sewer is available at the campsites, but they have a couple of dumps. The park is quiet and peaceful. We stayed 10 days. The park could be a great place if only the state of Texas would install sewer at the campsites. The restrooms were warm and clean and showers were cleaned regularly. There is a river running through the park that is beautiful. Fishing was slow, but did not have to have a fishing license because of Texas' gift this year to the fisherman: no license if fishing in some of the parks. Check local parks. A burn ban was in force while we were here, so that was kind of a let down, but all in all this is a great place to rest. We camped here in a Motorhome.

A real nice park with some unique features. Personnel has an easy, laidback attitude. Do not get this confused with slack operation. This is first rate. Garbage pick-up daily at your site. Propane tanks are taken, refilled and returned to your site. Well organized without posting regulations and restrictions all over the park. Office/mailbox/coffee room is real cool. Laundry facility has only 3 washers 3 dryers: but it's very clean and we never had to wait. Park deco is also a must see. A short walk (inside the park) and you can visit animals. Park is situated in great surroundings on Hwy 28. An easy 25-minute drive directly into downtown San Antonio. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed for a month so the rate I listed is the prorated monthly rate (includes bill for electricity). The only reason I did not give this park a 10 is that the highway is quite busy & noisy; you wouldn't want to be in one of the front spots. But sites in the trees (which are back-ins) and the pull-through sites towards the back are quiet. Otherwise this park is wonderful. Large sites, lots of open green space; we didn't use the bathrooms but the laundry is spotlessly clean & the machines are new & work very well. The owner manages the park & is there daily; he & his 3 staff people are some of the friendliest we've ever met. While we were there they held a movie night & a campfire/cookout so guests could meet each other & mingle. We will definitely stay there again when we are in the area. This is overall a nice park with very friendly owner and young workamping couple. Nice common area and some sites have great trees. The reason we will not be back is that the park is directly behind the post office and every morning we were awakened at 4 AM with the noise of a big mail truck being loaded. CLUNK CRASH BEEP CLUNK SCRAPE CLUNK. The noise off Hwy 281 was tolerable. Our site really needed the grass/weeds cut, as a result we were constantly picking burrs out of everything. Thought it odd that the park office was closed on weekends, when one would think the busiest time would be. Again, nice park and people (staff and other RVers) but unfortunate location. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here three months while commuting to San Antonio for medical appointments. The park has large older trees on one side. The other side of the park is new with smaller trees. Grass is available at each site, and the park beautifully landscaped. The owners and staff were very friendly and helpful. The park is exceptionally clean, pet friendly, has level gravel sites, new hookups on concrete pads, and black top roads running throughout the campground. The park is located directly behind the Spring Branch Post Office on HWY 281. We will definitely return to this park. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice clean park on Highway 281. Easy access to local towns. A little road noise. Park was well maintained, easy to navigate, had asphalt drives, and concrete pads. Playground was on dirt versus rocks and was muddy with a little rain. Park's water system wasn't working one morning, but they were able to get it fixed within an hour or so. Nice rally room, but we understand it is going to be removed due to an upcoming highway expansion. There are some donkeys and alpaca that loved to be fed food the park provides. It is OK for a quick weekend with our 3 kids, but there is not much to offer for a longer stay. We camped here in a Tent.

We really enjoyed this park. It was extremely clean and well landscaped. Owners/employees were very friendly and helpful. Hookups were new and well placed. Long pull-throughs made for an easy set-up on gravel, level sites. Concrete patio area was convenient and equipped with a nice picnic table. Old red barn was very unique. Laundry and bathroom facilities were very clean. I would highly recommend this RV park for visits to the local area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice campground, clean facilities, free coffee (large selection, with tea and hot chocolate too). Campground and facilities were more than just "clean" they were immaculate. Children and pets were welcomed. Paved roads, with gravel sites. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a very well run park, with good gravel sites, hookups on concrete pads, asphalt roads throughout the campground, and management who shows a real interest in keeping the park an upscale place. Nicest campground near Canyon Lake, with easy access to San Antonio, Boerne, Johnson City, and New Braunfels. Restrooms are very large, family style, well-equipped and always clean. No pool on premises, but with the lake and rivers nearby, you don't miss it. We would definitely return to this RV resort. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a relatively new park. Close enough to San Antonio to see the sights but far enough out to avoid the traffic. Super nice staff. They really try to make you feel at home. Nice big level pull-through sites. Best Wi-Fi of any park we have ever stayed in. Propane available on-site. Most of the park is paved. Free coffee, hot chocolate and tea available in the "barn". We will definitely come back. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This was a nearly new new campground. Long pull-throughs were available for overnighters, about 10 were available. Everything that we saw was neat and clean. Only stayed overnight so I can't say about activities. The only thing that we didn't like was the road noise from the highway that runs in front of the campground, although it was not noticed inside the camper. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Friendly staff, clean park and sites right next to Spring Branch post office. This is an Escapee park now and they take Good Sam, etc. discounts. Good laundry if a bit small. Cable TV not available. Very good, free Wi-Fi. Accessible to hill country and San Antonio. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We registered for a month at $299, thus the $10 daily rate. WiFi internet works very well. Sites are easy to access and level. Hookups are conveniently located. The post office is a short walk away for those getting mail at general delivery. Propane is available at the site once a week. The new area we are in has few trees so is very satellite friendly. Very nice park with level gravel parking spots. I chose a pull-in because I did not have my tow with me and wanted the best chance to see some of the deer as shown on their website. No luck there! I guess it was the wrong time of the year or I did not get up early enough. The pull-thru spaces were easily accessible from paved streets. In addition to a propane station on the campus, it was also available for delivery to your site on Thursdays. Friendly management and staff with coffee available in the assembly room next to the office. Rate was 15% off using their coupon from Woodall's site. Entrances could be better marked and lighted. Very difficult to find after dark. Stayed a week in a motorhome. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This was a beautiful, quiet park. It was immaculately clean. Dogs were kept on leashes at all times. They have a very nice laundry and restroom with a little deck to sit on. Our rv site was shaded and very peaceful. My husband and I went for a walk, and they had various kinds of flowers planted in several flower gardens. They also had a cactus garden. It was all very pretty. The owners/employees were very courteous and helpful. We enjoyed our visit very much, and we definitely plan to stay there again in the future. We stayed in a Bigfoot camper and received the Camp Club discount. Thanks for an enjoyable stay. We camped here in a Truck Camper.

Web sites rates posted at $26.25 night, $157.50 weekly upon arrival they indicated the nightly rate of $32.50 and weekly $190.00. A note on bathroom doors indicated they were locked for safety. But they had code to key pad taped to door. We had planned on staying 2 weeks but decided to only stay 1 night. Rates are high for amenities offered. Campers let their dogs "potty" on other sites and do not pick up. There were several dogs not on leash at camp sites and they run out into road. We camped here in a Motorhome.
