We have spent about two weeks a year here using Blanding as a base camp for hiking. Nothing has changed except they have added a bunch of sites to accommodate the prolific rental rigs driven by Europeans doing the Great Circle. 50 amp sites down low are huge. Have beautiful sunset views. Everything is gravel, level and well graded. Very wide roads with easy turns even for the biggest rigs and toads. Owners are very accommodating and friendly to everyone. Not much going on in Blanding as it is a very traditional Mormon town. Grocery is close. Remember that Blanding has no liquor stores or restaurant bar service. BYOB. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This campground has a lovely view of the mountains. The sites are level, graveled, and have a concrete sidewalk at each site. There is a nice dogwalk area where we were able to exercise our little dogs. The laundry was neat and clean, with nice, new machines. The hosts were nice and tried to help us find the phone number of a campground in another state we were planning to travel to next. The location is a good base camp for visiting area attractions. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We wanted to stay two nights at a place with WiFi after driving through Four Corners, and called ahead to ensure they had it. Sadly, upon arrival, we learned the WiFi had been inoperative for several days. As a result we stayed only one day. We would have stayed two if a playground were available for the 6-yr old, but nothing here for kids. Other than those factors, the park is as others describe: Friendly staff, very clean and quiet, and a beautiful sunset views. Pretty much each pad has a nice grassy area, and plenty of room to maneuver. Add reliable WiFi and a kids play area and I'd stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
It's just your basic campground, a stop on our way to Lake Powell from Moab. It's a big parking lot that's easy to get in and out of, but this was the best RV park in Blanding. Wifi was spotty, and service was off for days at a time. We'll rate the campground a 10 just for the sunsets alone-beautiful! We'll camp here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The owners are some of the friendliest folks we've encountered staying at a campground. They were very helpful in giving us tips on what to see and do while in Blanding and the surrounding area. The sites are spacious and well-maintained, as is the entire campground. We'll stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
I agree with the other posters. Very nice. Convenient. Clean restrooms/showers. Host very friendly and helpful. Has Indian Arts store in office - no RV supplies available. Pretty sight to the west. Trees, level, gravel. No amenities. Wi-Fi didn't work at site 7, but did in the office. I would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Sites are long, wide, level and hard gravel. Very big rig friendly. Nice grass, sidewalk and medium trees. Some sites have tables and BBQ stands. Although park is located on the highway making it easy in easy out, traffic noise is not a problem. Interior roads are very wide and packed gravel. This is an excellent place to use as a base camp when visiting Monument Valley, Capitol Reef NP, Arches NP and many of the Pubelo ruins and museums in the area. There are several good places to eat especially Big B Burgers. The only complaint we have regarding this park is that the sites share hookups which make your neighbors too close. We spent a week here and would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Not a fancy park, but well maintained. The owners are pleasant and cooperative. Be careful about pulling into areas around the perimeter because some of it is very soft and deep dirt that can result in a stuck vehicle. The driveways are spacious enough that avoiding the dirt is not difficult. The rate is perhaps a little on the high side for what is offered. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stay here about two weeks a year using Blanding as a base camp for hiking. Son in law has taken over a lot of responsibility for owners Duke and Rose. They are expanding the campground including tent sites. Most people use it as a one night stay. Easy in and out. Level gravel sites. WIFI was a bit flakey one day during our stay. Sites near highway are noisy. Sites down low especially the huge pull throughs have awesome views. Nice folks who run a clean family business. Blanding is nothing to get excited about. If you are thirsty and in need of a libation there isn't any in town! Traditional quiet Mormon town where even Subway closes on Sunday. And whatever you do, don't speed through town. San Juan Sherrif patrols the highway closely. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We've been here dozen or more times. We use Blanding as a base camp for hiking Cedar Mesa and surrounding area several weeks a year. The huge 50 amp sites on back row are our favorites! It is also easy in and easy out for one night stays. Wi-fi works great this time after some previous issues. Be sure to bring your own food and "beverage" as Blanding is "dry" and doesn't have any good places to eat. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Level gravel sites. All of the hookups were functional. A very nice park that is very suitable for an overnight stop but should be good for a few days if cable is not an issue. Friendly staff. Right next to busy highway with some truck noise. Good scenic views. Would stay there again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We have stayed here twice a year for several years, usually October and either late March or early April. We use it as a base camp for hiking the Anasazi ruins and desert canyons. It is a mom and pop operation owned by Duke and Rose; however their daughter and son-in-law actually operate it now. It is mostly used by single nighters stopping on the way to somewhere else. The sites near the road are noisy but the big 50 amp pull through sites at the bottom have an awesome sunset views. Very open with nice level sites. Laid back friendly operation. Very clean and well run. No long term residents with kids, dogs, clutter, etc. Not much to do in Blanding since it is a very conservative Mormon town. Edge of Cedars Museum is a must see. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Acceptable if you are running late. Not an attractive area, but worked out just fine when I was running late getting to a spot for the night. The place is very clean contrary to the local town. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Simpsons RV Park is now called Blue Mountain RV Park. Landscaping has been slow to mature, roads and parking areas are loose gravel, and the front sites are close to the main road through town and therefore noisy. We chose a site near the back and road noise was not a problem. RV park was not busy when we stayed there in early September with only 4-6 campers. Met the owners, very nice people. For us, it was a pleasant, clean
campground with no shade trees and otherwise unremarkable. We camped here in a camper.

A new RV Park with wide spaces and long pull throughs. Introductory rate of $9.00 per night as they complete the landscaping and etc. Ask them to show you the Bald Eagles and Golden Eagles as they fly overhead. Visit The Natural Bridges National Monument, Monument Valley, Lake Powell from there. Located 2 miles south of town on Hwy 161. We camped here in a camper.
Used this campground as the base to visit Monument Valley and the Valley of the Gods, before heading west to Bryce Canyon. The park is your basic campground with gravel sites and roads. But the sites are wide with shade trees between each site. The sites are level and most are pull-through. No park Wi-Fi but I was able to hook into an open network from my site. No cable TV. Good value for the price. We camped here in a Motorhome.
