Staff was friendly and helpful. Campground was clean and services were well placed. Interior roads and camp sites were paved and could handle large RVs. The only negative was that the WiFi was spotty. We had stayed here before in the winter of 2012 and WiFi was much better at that time. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Extremely nice park with paved roads and sites. Each site is perfectly level with a nice grassy area and mature trees offering lots of shade. The restroom/shower areas are very clean with great water pressure. The park location is excellent with several restaurants within walking distance plus being only 5 or 10 minutes to Temple Square. A free shuttle from the church will pick you up & take you to the square and back to KOA every 30 minutes. There's a super nice shaded path along the river that runs behind the park that's great for walking the dog. There are plenty of street lights throughout the park which is really nice when you have to take out the dog late at night. This is one of the nicest parks we've ever stayed in. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Clean, neat park with good power and high water pressure. (Be sure to have a water restrictor when you stay here and use it!) Very restful stay and conveniently located to the attractions in the area. Note that the space was tight for our 43 ft. motorhome and tow vehicle so plan accordingly. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We were pleasantly surprised at this campground. It is well inside the town, but is a sprawling complex with easy access, nice staff, and good facilities. There is a river walk through a gate at the rear of the park, and a very large and very new off-leash area about 1/4 mile down the river walk. The width of the spot we were assigned was the only issue preventing a higher rating number. We would come back. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice clean campground. Plenty of room to maneuver into pull through spot. No need to unhook. Draw back is the aircraft and train noise. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a big park with a pretty good layout. Sites are level, close together with hook-ups in a good location. While the park was clean overall a lot of dog owners did not pick up after their dogs. This is the dog owners' responsibility, but the park needs to enforce it's pick-up policy. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I'm giving this KOA a 10 even though the roads are a bit tight. If you can't maneuver through it, you shouldn't be driving a big rig. The park was clean and well trimmed, and the desk person was great. The only downside was that the water pressure was very HIGH and I thought my 12 y/o built in regulator could handle it... Wrong...Blew the hose fitting loose. Oh well, I was planning on replacing it anyway and did. They also have a car wash next door and it has the same high water pressure and was great for getting the green stuff off of the toad after a winter in WA. We will stay here again when in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This rate was based on a weekly rate with our BCAA card. The internet was free courtesy KOA and Tengo. Now I'm normally not a fan of Tengo, but this park had numerous towers through out the park, which made for a fairly decent speed and signal strength. The park borders on a nice river walk park, which was nice to take the dog out for a walk. The Hot tub was operational though we didn't use it. The location is very convenient to the downtown SLC and the temple. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The patio and the game room were nice, but the restrooms were not very clean. I was a bit freaked out about the surrounding area. The security was pretty good though. I won't be going back! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

From a big rig perspective this KOA needs some work. It's biggest problem for larger rigs is the trees and shrubs. While these are nice to look at and add a certain lushness to a park they are totally in the way for getting in or out of a site. I had to blackout of my space because I could not turn clear of a tree and big bush. It would have been tight regardless as the interior roads while paved are very narrow. They have a sign warning everyone to use a pressure regulator as the water was over 100 psi. Very noisy as trains go nearby constantly. It is convenient to downtown and I will consider staying again for this reason only. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very urban park, but close to everything. Sites a little tight. There are trees, but we were able to get satellite TV. AT&T and Verizon worked well. 50amps and water pressure were good. Internal roads and sites are asphalt, with picnic tables on grass. Helpful staff. Train whistles are frequent, but not too loud. We would stay here again for the campground's central location and convenience. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Price reflects an extra long premium site. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Conveniently located to city center and major attractions. We did not hear any noise from the airport. They have a free shuttle to temple square. There is a nature trail just outside of the campground, which goes for miles along the river. Great for the dog. We will stay here again. On the top of the list for KOAs. Large spots, lots of grass, fantastic water pressure, fresh hookups. Large park with adjacent park for long term guests. It's in the center of town, 14 blocks from Temple Square and 3 blocks from fairgrounds. Beautiful riverside walking path just outside of gate. Near airport but plane noise is minimal, there is a train nearby but seems to be true in every town. Rapid transit just outside of park. Clean pool and lovely spa. Large staff with night security/caretaker patrol to assist any way possible. Would gladly return for another visit. Stayed in a 39ft motorhome with tow car. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Fantastic staff. The KOA is very large, very green, good TV, lovely pool and spa, great water pressure. Good location for touring. Lovely nature trail behind park along the river, goes on for miles. Lots of grass and large RV sites. It is near the airport, and there is a train somewhere nearby; however, I was not bothered by either. A rapid transit system is just steps away to take you to the center of town. I will indeed return to Salt Lake City KOA We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very urban park, in an industrial area but convenient for city activities. Lots of "long term" campers, but in general we were pleased being here for 4 days. Sites are not on top of each other, TV worked well as did internet. We thought there might be more of a feeling of security as the state fair was going on right behind the campground. They didn't tell us there would be fireworks the first night we were here, and in fact, one camper lost 2 dogs out of fear. Fortunately our dog was inside by then. One night while walking our dog in the early evening, one of the long term campers' dog tried to attack our dog. He was on a leash, but broke off when we walked by. My husband has a tooth mark on his leg trying to protect our dog. The camper was not nice. We reported it to the office just as they were closing. We had to ask that our site be checked more vigorously by the security person during the night as we no longer felt safe. The office took a report but beyond that didn't feel any obligation to us. It's a park that's been around for years, and because of its convenience and the permanent trailer park next door, perhaps doesn't have the same attention to the campers that we're used to. Not sure if we would camp here again. However having said that, there aren't a lot of campgrounds in the city area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I would have given this campground a 10, but I didn’t like that I booked a larger pull-through site on line, and when we got here, we got a short site without much room to put up a small dog pen and two chairs, never mind our 10x10 screen room. Also, while camping here, they ran the sprinkler and all the water went under the slide-out, getting the tracks wet. When ask them to stop watering while we stay here, they did stop; but we were asked if we could water the lawn while here. Not for $42 a night we won’t. Other than that, it was fine. It is a huge campground, very convenient to everything. This is the second time we were here. I would camp here again, but I would request a different site the next time. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Good location for area attractions, although road construction makes for challenging entry and exit from park. Paved roads and RV sites. My only complaint is the location of large evergreen trees near the front of pull-through sites that make it very difficult to leave the site without getting into tree branches. Friendly and helpful staff. Wi-Fi worked fine. Would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is an older but well kept park with mature shade trees all over the park. There is an older section with full timers in back in sites that does have some bumpy roads, but we stayed in the pull throughs and had a great site and wonderful shade. Wi-fi and cable were good. Free shuttle every half hour to Temple Square eliminates parking fees in downtown Salt Lake. Park is a little tricky to get into because of construction, but I got specific directions from staff, who were very helpful. Pool was not always as clean as I would have liked, but in all fairness there were gusty winds blowing trash into it daily, so I don't think it was the park's fault. We definitely would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

My only issue here was a bright light coming through the bedroom shades. So I draped a towel over the window to block it, no problem. Relatively easy to return to I-80. A train could be heard in the distance if you were outside. But we never heard it inside. I've been surprised at the number of full-timers permanently set-up at some parks. This place was well-maintained, very pleasant place for a few days touring. Don't miss the copper mine. Pretty amazing. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is our second stay at this park and it is a nicely kept city park. The staff is helpful and friendly and it is located near the things that folks come to Salt Lake City to see. The sites are a bit narrow but we made it work. Currently North Temple is undergoing construction so getting in and out of the park is tricky but that will not last forever. We would camp here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice park with paved roads/sites. Appreciate the shade trees and although the sites are close together, the angle is good and one doesn't gaze directly into the ones next door. Do NOT appreciate, at this or any other RV park, the many "speed bumps." No RV-owner could EVER think about installing them, as no matter how slowly you drive, everything in cabinets is moved around. Just post speeds and make a big deal of it when rigs check in. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I loved this campground as soon as we drove in. Nicely laid out with grass and shade trees. Nice clubhouse and appropriately sized pool. A cash-operated RV and car wash on site. Friendly, efficient staff. Free shuttle to Temple Square (but you must be visiting the Square, which makes sense, because the shuttle is run by the Church). We took it all 3 days because there is so much to see on the Square and the driver and accompanist provide lots of friendly information, which is interesting. (We also saw a parking lot that takes RVs on the corner of North Temple and 200 West, a few blocks from downtown for $3 a day if you prefer to drive, which is quite easy in Salt Lake City.). Next to Temple Square is City Creek Mall, which is very nice. This park is a very convenient base for visiting the city, and we would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Truck Camper.

I was apprehensive about staying here because it is right in the city and I thought it would be loud. But oddly enough, it's one of the quietest places we've stayed. It is very close to everything you want to see, the staff is friendly, the laundry is large, clean and reasonably priced. They have a shuttle that will take you right downtown. We really enjoyed our time here and would stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Price reflects internet special - stay one night, second night half price for a pull through site. What we liked: Shaded pull through reasonably priced with the special, free shuttle service to Temple Square (which is actually a service of the Mormon Church). Once construction is finished the park will be right on the light rail line, weekend all-you-can-eat pancake breakfasts for $3. What we disliked: Wi-Fi was difficult to connect/maintain, holes in asphalt, water hoses sprinkling continually on our site, trees planted too close to site exit making right turn difficult for big rigs, inconvenient dog walk in area filled with fox tails, missed turn due to construction and had to make our way through the trailer park and turn around at the actual park entrance when we found it. We will most likely stay elsewhere next visit. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This place is depressing. We only stayed here because it was close to the airport. Sites are asphalt and have lots of holes from jacks. Pricey for what it is. No view of anything and you have to walk your dogs out the back of the park on a trail in order to not intrude on people's campsites (though that's not a rule). Laundry was clean but pricey. We would not stay here again since a new park opened in North Salt Lake only 6 miles north. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The rate reflects the KOA discount. This park has a great location for visiting the sites around Salt lake. It also has a free shuttle to temple Square and friendly staff. Our site is a pull through with nice shade. It's a larger park with two sections. One with permanent residents. A car/RV wash is located at the entrance. One dollar for 2 minutes and 20 seconds, so you must work fast. The park has activities planned for most nights, and a small pool and laundry facilities which we didn't use, so I don't know the cost or condition. We Didn't use the showers either. The biggest negative with this park has to do with the major construction work going on at the entrance making it difficult to find and difficult to get into local businesses along the main artery to downtown. You are warned to use a pressure reducer for your water line as the pressure is 125 without it. The Wi-Fi is good and cable has 28 stations. Because of the location we would stay here again if in the area. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a clean, well kept park, convenient to the city. The LDS shuttle was very convenient, but there was much confusion by the front desk as to the schedule of it. Although at check-in they mentioned the AAA discount, they forgot to give it to me. Verizon and AT&T cell and data worked well, which was good, because the Wi-Fi at the park was so pathetic, I used my hot spot. When I mentioned the Wi-Fi to the front desk, she mentioned how much they had spent on infastructure and that people hog bandwith by streaming movies. Whatever the reason, I wasn't happy about it. The only other complaint was the hot tub. It was overrun with tons of little kids every time I wanted to use it. I would look at other options next time we are in town. We stayed here as an overnight stay on our way home. This is a well-managed campground that was clean and easy to navigate. A little pricey, but we were happy with the site: which was paved and totally level. Lots of grass and trees plus all of the good campground amenities such as a pool. The campground store was a little pricey, but it was well stocked. Some areas look tight but they had other areas that were large and open for big rigs. Typical KOA quality except for one thing. Wi-Fi was the most frustrating I have ever seen. It’s a TengoInternet which has a poor reputation. When I mentioned this to the staff at registration (they were very friendly) they gave me an 800 number to call. They had 6 connections throughout the park, but none could hold a signal. You get on and within 5 minutes it disconnected. After two hours of this I finally called the 800 number but was told something is wrong with MY laptop. Oh well. New Dell laptop but doubt it has a problem. We would have given them a higher rating but feel a 5 is in order as the Wi-Fi is beyond terrible. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We enjoyed it here. We received a happy welcome. Our site was pleasantly shaded. We found it quiet and peaceful. There was a leafy walk out the back. Free transport could be arranged to and from Temple Square courtesy of the LDS, which was a very nice touch. Only downside was the extensive road works that were going on outside the camp, which resulted in different road diversions being in place on the two nights we caught cabs back from SLC. It was a bit of a giggle ($5 worth probably) going round extra sides of a square to find the way in. We'd definitely come back. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice park with a lot of trees, asphalt streets and gravel fairly level sites. Wi-Fi was free and pretty good. Why the very low rating you ask? Part of your experience in a park is the front office people. While nice, I found our checkin personnel incompetent. We had asked for a satellite friendly site and when we get to our site there is a huge tree and a utility pole right next to the site at the rear of the site where our dish is on the roof. All the sites had trees at the rear of the site so we moved to a site with a much smaller tree and also a utility pole. Being so close meant that even with the tree just starting to bud there was too much interference so the dish could not lock onto a satellite. The trees were all over and we could not even get a signal on our portable automatic that we moved towards the front of the site. When we call a place and are told, no problem with the satellite, we expect no problems. When you pay KOA rates you expect above average everything: we just did not get it here. Utility hookups are a little awkward as I don't like to have the water hose under or over the sewer hose. Needed two sections of our sewer hose due to the layout. We will not stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The construction around the entry is miserable but what can you do? Easy to find from I-80. I hope to come back again to stay. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

As usual, this park bent over backwards to accommodate our rig which is 65' in length with an extra car. We had 80' site with patio and the whole nine yards. Real nice. The tour vans were out in force. Many shuttles to the Mormon Temple for research. North Temple street is pretty well torn up with new train tracks going in so pay attention to the directions given. Office staff was up to date on all info. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Salt Lake City KOA Friendly and helpful staff. At check-in we were advised of 110# water pressure and offered a loaner pressure reducer. The welcome pack included a two page single spaced directory of stores, services, and attractions with marvelous turn by turn directions; the best we have ever seen. We were very pleased with services of a nearby IHC InstaCare Medical Clinic. Good laundry. Paved level pads and wide paved streets make for easy parking. Clean and very convenient location to downtown Salt Lake. I was visiting the Family Research Center, and the LDS Church provided shuttle service free of charge. This is located in the city, without a security fence. I didn't have any problems but would have felt more secure with a fence. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a great CG if you plan on sightseeing in Temple Square or anywhere else in downtown SLC. The roads and sites are paved and were long enough for our MH and our toad. Some of the roads were a bit on the narrow side, but it was easy to make the necessary turns. There are lots of trees, but we were able to get satellite reception; on some sites this will be difficult. There is free cable TV usable Tengonet Wi-Fi. What is nice is that the Wi-Fi code is valid for up to a month instead of having to be changed each day. The staff at the office were very pleasant and organized when we checked in an provided us with one of the best information packages we have received anywhere. The road in front of the CG is torn up by construction and will be for the next year or more due to a new light-rail line being built. However, it is passable in a MH, just dusty and slower than normal. All in all, this is one of the best KOA's we've been at and a very good CG regardless of "brand." We camped here in a Motorhome.

We chose this campground because we had blasted through SLC several times but never stopped to visit. There is a free LDS shuttle that will take you to Temple Square and back for free. Check-in staff were polite and efficient. The site was level and the campground is shady. There's a state park out back to walk the dogs. We heard the occasional train and plane during the night but generally quiet. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

One of our favorite parks. Lots of shade, grass and walking opportunities, especially along the river. Showers are well maintained. One of the things that is exceptional about this park, is that shuttle service is provided to the Mormon Tabernacle to hear the choir and orchestra rehearse on Sunday morning and then record a live performance of "Music and The Spoken Word." If you love sacred and classical music, you should not miss this opportunity to hear top shelf musicians and singers perform. The most surprising, no one asks for a donation: in fact, the shuttle drivers even refuse tips. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is the 3rd year in the last 4 years we have stayed here in Aug/Sept for three weeks each time. We return because this is one of the best KOA's we have ever visited in almost 35 years of camping at KOA. The grounds are well kept, the facilities clean, the pool area is well maintained and the store is well stocked. But, the best reason for coming here is the staff from the front desk to maintenance staff to those who offer you a ride in a golf cart to your sight or to the office. They are willing to try and answer any question you might have whether it is where the local market is located, a movie theater or a sports bar, which bus to take, how to find local TV info, etc. They are friendly and considerate of everybody. This is a city RV park that provides the services as advertised. The shuttle to Temple Square was very handy. The staff was friendly and helpful. My only complaint with this park was the Internet Service (Tengo). We were here 3 nights the first 2 days we had no Internet. I complained to Tengo at least 10 times with no results. The park attendants were helpful but not IT service people. The 3rd day at the site the Internet performed flawlessly. Same computer that worked at all other access points in the park. My real complaint is with Tengo you pay for this service one way or another and they pretty much tell you its your problem. Deal with it. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

A typical KOA that is geared for kids, many kids. The office staff was very friendly and had lots of recommendations about the area. This is a very large property with many long term, perhaps full time residents. The gravel pull through was long enough for our 37 footer and a gravel spot to the side for our tow. The pool and hot tub were refreshing. The laundry room was very clean. The overall rating was a 6 but I gave them an extra point because they recycle. Point of interest: If you can be in Salt Lake City on Thursday night, the Moran Tabernacle Choir holds their rehearsal at 8 PM and you can sit in for free. We camped here in a Motorhome.

It is very clean and neat, large pull through sites, all I could see were shaded and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend this park and would stay again. The free shuttle to the Mormon Temple was great since parking is not easy to find in the area. There is a major construction going on but not impossible to negotiate. This is an enormous campground near I-80, I-15, the Salt Lake City Airport and the fairgrounds. It is about 2 miles from Temple Square. Even though it is an urban campground there are lots of trees, flowers and grassy sites. This KOA has a pool and small hot tub in addition to a recreation room and a nice playground. The camp store is well supplied with food, snacks, drinks and basic camping items. There are two restroom/shower/laundry buildings, one up front near the pool and office and the other towards the back of the campground. Restrooms are accessed with a door code. A TV/game room is located near the office and there is an exercise trail through the grounds and access to a nature trail just outside. The sites are large, many are pull through and can accommodate very large rigs. They are nicely spaced with table and fire ring, free modem and PC, free WIFI and cable TV. A large RV/car wash and a Mexican restaurant are also on site. The entire place is kept immaculately clean by staff who can be seen grooming the place. We stayed at this KOA in a Class C motorhome but there are a few cabins and many tent sites. A group tent site has a sink for dish washing. A very nice feature was the free shuttle service to and from Temple Square offered by volunteers from the LDS Church every half hour from 9 a.m. One may just use the shuttle to get to and from downtown Salt Lake City or if desired a free tour of Temple Square can be arranged. We took the tour and were impressed by the articulate, friendly young guides who shared information and answered questions without proselytizing. The tour can be as brief as 20 minutes or as long as an hour depending on your preferences and you are free to walk around on your own. We were also given a coupon for 10% off at several restaurants around the Square. We would definitely recommend this KOA to tenters, RV'ers or those wishing to stay in the cabins. This is the virtual epitome of perfect campground planning. What can I say. It has everything we can think of, including friendly, helpful management and employees. The grounds are clean and well laid out. We felt safe even though we were practically in down-town Salt Lake. The ONLY negative (temporary) is that there is major road construction outside the gate on West Temple making Interstate access difficult. We enjoyed touring the city and will certainly stay here again when in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We have stayed at this facility many times. It is an older park, but well maintained and with lots of grass and big trees. I would have given them a 10 but the construction around the area makes it difficult to manuever. I also had several uncomfortable encounters with a camp host who actually chided me not not attending an LDS Event, after politely telling her we were of another faith. I have not encountered this in SLC in the past 20 years and would suggest KOA stick to doing what it does so well and not evangelize. We'll stay at another park when we return in the fall. Front of the campground is very off-putting, but once you get inside the campground, it is well maintained with plenty of trees. There is a lot of construction on the road the campground is on. I wish someone had written a more accurate representation of this KOA as I never would have stayed here. The only redeeming quality is its proximity to the Temple and the shuttle to take you to the sites. I can overlook the road work as it looks as it will improve the area. What I can't overlook is how close the trains are to the park. Both nights we stayed here, we heard train whistles at various times in the night (12:00AM, 2:30AM, etc.) As the on-site store was unstocked, I asked the staff if they knew of a market close by to purchase groceries, and they gave me a sheet of paper with directions. I would not stay here again, but if being close to downtown is important to you, the convenience could outweigh the negatives. Not for me, though. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This RV park is highly recommended especially if you plan to visit downtown Salt Lake City (SLC). You can get free shuttle to downtown right from the campground. The campground also provides tours. They pick you up and drop you off at the campground. This campground has it all. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. You couldn’t ask for better service. Our pull through site was long enough to fit our 38 foot fifth-wheel and truck. There are trees, a picnic table, and a grassy area on every site. There is quite a lot of room between sites. All sites and roads are paved. Cable and satellite reception were great. Our Verizon cell phone and wireless internet worked fine. Campground has RV service on site. Bathrooms and showers are spotless. Pool, hot tub, and laundry were also very clean. The campground offers movies and entertainment on the weekend. There is a Wal-Mart close by and many restaurants. In addition to visiting SLC we visited Antelope Island State Park during our stay. I highly recommend this park. You will not be disappointed. Make reservations in advance because they sell out early. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This campground is a good option for folks who want to visit downtown Salt Lake. A shuttle runs to the Temple area and right now light rail is being constructed right across the street. Construction makes travel there a bit tricky at present. Sites are laid out in an interesting pattern, not bad, just different. There are lots of trees. Wi-Fi is Tengo which I dislike, but it is available and free. Dog area is too far away so our dogs ended up going at our site. More dedicated dog area and/or a park would improve my rating. This is typical of a KOA park for amenities. But this was one of the nicer KOA's we have stayed in. The park was clean, the sites are good size, and the pads are paved. No patios at the sites though. There is road construction in front of the park, but navigating through it was no problem. All of the trees in the park have been trimmed up so travel through the park roads was easy. There is a section for permanent residents, but it is sectioned off from the daily sites. A short walk next to a stream out of the back gate of the park leads to a huge dog park. Even though there is water not far from the park, bugs were never an issue. I will come back to the area to explore Salt Lake City further, and I will stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Excellent park for visiting Salt Lake City. Caution: there is heavy road construction in front of the park and part of the intersection that you use to get to Highway 80 is closed. Call the park for the status on the construction before you get there. There is a shuttle bus sponsored by the Mormon Church that picks you up and takes you down to Temple Square and back. Convenient to the tourist spots. Everything is clean and well taken care of. Lovely flowers and grass everywhere. Huge park...it is a hefty walk from the back of the park up to the pool and laundry room. Cable was fuzzy, but they said they are working on it. Wi-Fi was so-so; you get kicked off a lot but it's fine when it's working. Laundry was clean but maybe a little small for the size of the park. Pool and hot tub were sparkling clean. Media room with book swap. Nice river walk out a back gate; good for dogs. Park was very quiet at night. We definitely would return. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We enjoyed our stay here. It has a perfect location for visiting Salt Lake City and is right on the Jordan River Parkway, a paved biking and running trail. They have big pull-through sites that can accommodate huge rigs, with full hookups. The hookups were in odd places, though, so we had to pull our rig to the middle to reach the sewer, and then our truck barely fit in the site, but it wasn't really a problem. The sites are well-kept, with green grass between each site that they keep nicely-groomed. The price, while not cheap, seemed fair for a campground in a city. They have a nice pool and laundry facility. The park is absolutely enormous, with row after after row of RVs, so you are not going here for serenity, but we didn't find it noisy at all. The one downside is that the park is connected with a VIP Permanent Resident park, so a lot of the people are living here full-time, and there are some in mobile homes, rather than RVs. This wasn't a problem, though, and everyone we met seemed friendly. We planned to stay 3 nights and wound up staying five. We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice KOA campground on the west side of downtown Salt Lake City. Sites are close together, but the campground is very convenient to the downtown area and has easy access from the Interstate highways. Many sites have lots of shade. Cable TV is virtually useless as it is so snowy you can't really see a usable picture, but you can pick up local channels just fine with your crank up antenna. The big plus for this park is its location close to downtown and the highways. There is also a free shuttle service from the park to Temple Square downtown, which is a terrific deal for sight seeing. The rate shown reflects the weekly rate of pay for 6 nights and get the 7th night free. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This KOA had flat clean slab sites with grass and a picnic bench. The store was well equipped and had the right fuse we needed. The management gave us directions and invited us to the numerous activities the camp had to offer. There was a river walking trial and BBQ. A wonderful location if you want to visit Temple Square. The LDS church provides a free pick up and return van. Our site was level, and long enough so we did not have to unhitch. Grass, Grass and wonderful trees. Good to excellent space between units. Long term residents where also neat - it was big propane pig that gave them away as you drove to your site. They have 12 ft tall wash bays to wash you RV and truck! Yes, you can come in off the street and do your thing! The only item that prevented them from a 10 was the poor TV cable they provided - snowy in the lower channels - I assume they have telephone cable from their telephone service. Any time we are traveling through Utah we will stay here- we enjoyed the tranquility at the KOA and at Temple Square. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This place was our first KOA experience, and we were thrilled with the state of the park, as well as the management. Coming from California where people don't make eye contact, we were overwhelmed by the friendliness of the staff. They went above and beyond to make our stay a good one. We stayed for three nights during a monsoon, so we spent a lot of time indoors. The Internet was fast, the cable TV was good, and the bathrooms were in immaculate shape. The store was well stocked, and there's a big laundromat on one end of the property with a couple dozen industrial-sized washers and dryers. There's also a free shuttle service to Temple Square, which we didn't use, but which would come in handy if you didn't want to detach your rig. There was a ton of construction going on right here on Temple Street, where the campgrounds are located, but when it's all done, the KOA will be a straight shot to downtown (North Temple goes all the way to Temple Square). It takes 10 to 15 minutes. The only downside to this park is the proximity to the rail line. Trains were blowing their whistles all night, and it woke my husband and me up at times. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Highly priced, but accept most discount cards, so was a great place to be for a couple days. Well maintained facilities in every way! Don't like the price, but tolerate it because it's so close to every thing you'd want to do in this town! Site sizes are not measured properly. We are just under 60' if stay hooked up. The first site assigned was supposed to be 62', but was more like 55'. We moved to a (truly) 65' site after we discovered we could not get satellite reception (due to tree obstruction). I would say that this park was more of a 7, but the location earned it an 8. We enjoyed the Good Sam discount, even for a weekly rate (it kept the price in line with the amenities). Also, we are giving them the benefit of the doubt: we had problems with the Wi-Fi (and Tengo's customer service was poor), the cable TV, and the water. The cable and water were due to switching companies and maintenance, so I do not think they are normal occurrences; however, the Wi-Fi issue seemed common (other guests complained that it "came and went") and our experience with Tengo is that there are normally problems. We enjoyed the shuttle to Temple Square, and that the KOA is on a bus route for those times after the shuttle is not running or to go to other locations. The laundry and restrooms/showers could use work (for example, in one shower stall all of the hooks had been pulled off the wall). The laundry is at the front of the park, so while a good size facility is a bit inconvenient (the large dryers that start with a quarter are great, though). We did see some high-speed traffic from the permanent folks, but not much. Most of the long-term RVs seemed in good shape, there was one in the short-term area that seemed to have more caution tape and tarp than fiberglass. The part of town was not the best, but we felt comfortable here. If you stay here, Temple Square is a must see (the most popular tourist destination in SLC) and the Choir rehearsal is excellent. This is not a typical KOA. Very nice park and close to everything. Most sites are pull thru side by side, have 30/50 amps with no dips in power, water, sewer, table, plus close to level. Sites are marked on way to pull in and with large number on site pads. Site had a place to park the tow. Roads and sites are good asphalt. It is very packed, so be sure to make reservations. I loved the shuttle into Temple Square and the downtown area. Super friendly, helpful staff. It is not a traditional "camping" experience, more like a mobile home park, but if you want to see Salt Lake City, this is a safe home base. Yes, there's long term people on the outer edges of the park, but they are mostly summer visitors in nice coaches & trailers. With the number of employees all over the park cleaning, trimming and helping, we didn't feel a threat at all. We spent the extra money for a patio, swing and table. It was nice and gave us a little extra space. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The RV park is close to a State Fairground which wasn't a problem. There are quite a few residents on site. Pitches are close to each other but good for parking a tow vehicle. Park has a swimming pool and spa, clean restrooms good Wi-Fi and cable TV. They run a shuttle bus to Temple Square every hour. Staff very helpful and friendly. Would stay here again. This is our second stay at this park and we really like it. It is close to downtown, all pads are concrete, level, the staff are very nice, and accommodating. However, we did use an RV service to find an electrical short in our motorhome which turned out to be a simple loose connection. This Mobile RV Service took 4 hours to find the problem and charged us $400. We felt like we had been taken to the cleaners. So although the KOA is very very good, do not use Mobile RV Service for anything. This 1-man shop is not that knowledgeable, otherwise, it would not have taken him 4 hours to fix a simple problem. We would definitely stay here again and definitely would not use this man ever again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Well kept RV park with narrow paved roads and narrow paved sites. Best sites for large rigs are in the back half of the park, away from road noise up front. Back of park is attractive with grass and trees. Length of site was barely long enough for our 40' rig with toad attached. Electric and water worked well. There are several of us that stay in our RV's because work has brought us here. Nice overall park, but for monthly stays, it is different. Rules are not the same for everyone. They are not pet friendly. They charge you more for the pet spaces than renting a small house or apartment: $715.00 for medium to big dogs. They say for the other pet spots, your pet has to be under 30lbs, or if you have more than one, the combined weight not to exceed 30lbs. The manager is also not very nice. She has no people skills, always very sharp and nasty, several have complained. The summers at the pool are a joke. There is no supervision. Outsiders with lots of kids come in, they even let kids (as little as 3 months old) in the hot tub. Several of us leaving to another park that welcomes medium dogs at a lot better rate. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

I am writing to review this RV park because it has been unfairly reviewed by some I see, these people must have the wrong campground or something. We booked 4 nights with them, then thought later we forgot to read the reviews, so I did, they scared us so we tried to cancel. But we talked to the girl at the desk and she assured us they were safe and a nice place to stay. She was so nice we decided to go and see for ourselves. This RV park is beautiful, just a short walk to town and had beautiful tree lined streets, grassy sites, friendly staff and was very clean. They have a great pet walk behind the park right on the river, we loved it!. Nothing to be scared of here! The only one thing I didn't like is the middle rows of sites are all "buddy" sites, my husband and I dislike buddy sites unless you are camping with people you know. We felt like every night we had to say hello to our fellow camper next to us as their picnic table and ours were on the same side, I would have liked more privacy. I think these sites should be cheaper by a little bit than the extra large sites on the left side that are beautiful and you don't have to picnic with anyone else. BUT having said that they were more than willing to move us over to another site without that issue, we didn't move as we are almost at the end of our stay but they were so nice about it, there was a Spanish man who was so nice, and the girls young and a little older were so nice too! We would stay here again in a minute and we are picky type, thanks KOA for the great stay From Canada. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We've stayed at this KOA several times and consider it to be one of the best in the system. It is an extremely busy park, but well laid out and well run. There are great walking trails, the staff are friendly and helpful, there are shade trees and grass at most sites, and it is conveniently located to Temple Square and Interstate access. Yes, it's in the middle of an aging part of town and you can hear the trains, but the good far outweighs the bad. We've tried Pony Express, but keep coming back to KOA. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a great place to stay while vacationing in the Salt Lake City Area. The staff was knowledgeable and very customer oriented. The park itself is well shaded with many trees. The shower house / restrooms were kept immaculate! Extra amenities included an all you can eat pancake breakfast for $2.50, and a free shuttle down to Temple Square. I would return here in a minute. We had been to this campground 5 years ago and were hesitant to return after reading previous reviews. It is still, in our opinion, a great KOA, convenient to downtown and easy to get in and out of from the freeway. Workers were always out pruning, weeding, and cleaning. As far as long-term units, they were off behind the hedge in another section. Dog walk in the area behind the campground next to the river is awesome. Don't miss the daily noontime organ recitals in the Tabernacle or just walk around Temple Square. We will return. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Our space was a pull through, asphalt site with grass and a tree on each side. The asphalt was so uneven; it took two boards to level my 30 foot trailer side to side. There was a gravel parking spot in each site since the spots were not long enough to accommodate my trailer and truck. The pool and bathrooms were very clean and well maintained. I had trouble logging on to the internet. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I realized that I had not been given my KOA discount when I checked in. I went back to the office and was rapidly taken care of and the problem was corrected. The staff was also very friendly and provided maps and suggestions for what to see in and around Salt Lake City. For the price, $50.00, I felt the sites should have been level, and the inter-net should work well. I liked the campground and had no concerns about the neighborhood. The staff wanted our stay to be a pleasant one. I would return if passing through Salt Lake City since the KOA is close and convenient to most of the local attractions. This is a really nice KOA in a run down part of Salt Lake City. The pool is one of the nicest/biggest/cleanest pools we have ever used, and along with the excellent hot tub, we were happy after a long day of driving. Our site was in a row of very nice sites with lots of shade, and the grass had been recently mowed. Check-in was stress free, and they had a nice packet with local activities and a free shuttle to the Mormon Temple Square. We did see some long term residents but the sites were well maintained with no skirting allowed. Nice fence surrounded the park, and in no way did we feel unsafe as there were very few empty sites in this very large park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We were a bit wary after reading previous comments but were pleasantly surprised - very convenient and visitor-friendly campground. Staff was friendly and helpful, and materials handed out were very useful, especially when we needed to find a pharmacy on short notice. We only came here because there's a free shuttle downtown to the Square, and we also wanted the extensive cable TV for one day (no other area park has that). Unappealing, unsecured outside area but park has nice grass and shade trees, though many paved sites are narrow and short. Sewer hookup was next to the cable box and unusable. Laundry room and showers cramped but clean. Residential area had cars zipping from there thru the park. If you must stay here more than a night, pray for a good, safe site. We have been full timing for over a year now and this park is so far the highest priced and the worst park we have stayed at! There are pit bulls and other types of large dogs in the park. The path to the bike trail is littered with dog excrement and no one cleans up after their dogs. There are many permanent residents who pay little attention to park speed limits etc. A local clerk in a grocery store nearby said this whole area has drug and vagrant problems. Even the park advises locking everything up at night. We will never stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice park. Good size sites with easy hookups. Has WiFi, cable TV and very accessible to the city. Lots of staff available. There was a full time park adjacent. Train horns in the late evenings and early mornings but the location is within minutes of Temple Square. We walked to a restaurant down the street. This park is next to the Utah State Fairgrounds. The worst KOA I have experienced. The young clerk was congenial but very deceptive. She said that I needed a pressure regulator, but rented me an anti-siphon valve calling it a pressure regulator. The staff are friendly and very helpful, the RV sites clean and the facility is green (double entrendre for the grass and the recycling program). Its a huge CG in town, and we were surprised at how quiet it was. You could hear the train at night, that was it. Clean bathrooms and laundry. It is very central for everything, Wal-Mart, restaurants, the temple, tabernacle etc. We tried to find a restaurant open on a Sunday night, not easy. but after driving around for a long time we found a gem. Coachmans on South State Street, we had a 4 course meal $20 for 2 people. Great service and staff, give it a try. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This park has a lot to offer: hot tub, pool, playground, rec-room, and store. Level pull-through sites on asphalt, with picnic table and grass. Wi-Fi worked great, has cable TV and friendly staff. Restrooms were clean, with three individual locking stalls. We went to Temple Square, Clark Planetarium, and the huge copper mine. Only complaint, which is out of their control, is the noise: several trains, few airplanes, and distant freeway vehicles. We will stay here again when we come through. This used to be the only RV Park close to Salt Lake City. As a result they could get away with charging $40.00 a night. Too late I learned that a new RV Park has opened in North SLC: 6 miles away. In any event, this park is OK, but I was less than impressed with the staff when I checked in. When I made my reservation 2 weeks ago, I specifically asked for a site that was not under trees. Guess what, they put me under the two biggest trees in the park. When I went back to the office to change sites they told me it was too hard for them to keep track of which sites have trees. This park is your typical KOA. It was not in a very good part of town, though there was easy access to downtown Salt Lake City. It was crowded with narrow streets and close sites. In addition to navigating to our site, it was difficult getting in and out of our campsite with the many trees and the location of newly planted trees and shrubs. The campground appeared old with many permanent/seasonal residents, and your typical older KOA that has done nothing in years to keep up with the size of newer RV units. The hookups were at the front of the site making it very difficult for us to connect electricity. The woman that showed us to our site was very uncooperative and rude, when we mentioned the hookup problem. We would not recommend this campground. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Great place. Paved roads and roughly 80X40 paved pull-thru’s. Unfortunately we were only there for the night, but our neighbor, who had also stopped for the night, had arrived six days earlier. I guess they were impressed also. My only complaint is that their KOA sign was easy to miss. City ordinances would not allow them to place their sign nearer to the street, so watch closely, as you approach the address. Easy to miss, but well worth looking for. We stayed here 3 nights while sightseeing in the area. It is a great location close to city sites (14 blocks to Temple Square, with free shuttle service, if desired). The services worked well. The water pressure was high, requiring a rented (or your own) water regulator. The pool and hot tub were super! The WiFi worked well; when we ran into a problem with connectivity, the office staff worked hard to get it resolved (which it was). For such a large park, it was very quiet. This was one of the better KOA's that I have stayed at. I was here for 6 nights for a tradeshow and was pleased with the service location and services. The Wi-Fi worked well at my site despite a few dropped signals. The sites were a bit close but I never felt cramped. The pool felt small because it was always busy. The bathrooms and showers were kept clean for the most part and the staff was friendly. Directly adjacent to the KOA is a full rock-and-roll sports bar which had live music and entertainment everynight. All and all I would stay here again if business brought me back to Salt Lake. We've found in our travels that KOAs can be iffy, so we were pleasantly surprised to find a really good one. However, it's located in a very odd part of town. Close to downtown but also a rail yard, industrial parks and not exactly high rent neighborhoods. This park was in a good spot to explore Salt Lake from. It is a nice campground with good facilities. The pool and spa are clean and well maintained although like most KOA's full of young children. They have a great basketball court and equipment is free to hire. The internet is provided by Nomad and although free, didn't work for us even though we had full signal - we have found this typical of Nomad. Water aerobics was fun and the instructor was very friendly. I wish I could say the same thing about the "Customer Service" lady who escorted us to our site. When I stopped at a turn to let my wife out to watch my back-end, the "lady" go very agitated. She sounded irritated that I didn't blindly trust that I would not cause damage with my wide swing out (I have a 45 foot rig). She blurted out that she escorts Prevosts with long trailers every day, which I took to personally to imply that my rig was not up to her high standard. Well, after that, she appeared so mad at me that she could barely utter her required speech once we got to the site. I assured her that this wasn't my first RV experience and released her of her responsibility. She is probably worn out by new tourists every day and should probably be re-assigned to a non-customer service position. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Its position close to the interstates and to the city make this a very good 'city' RV park. The excellent shuttle service provided by the LDS church members makes access to Temple Square and downtown very convenient. This is a large park but the layout of the sites and access to them makes for easy use. The staff were welcoming and very helpful. This KOA was fine. The full-timers are mostly in a separate section. Grass & a tree at every site. It was a little tight getting our 35' RV with a tow car in. After we got in there is a gravel place to park our car right next to RV. Free shuttle to Mormon Tabernacle. Dog walk area is WAY in back about 1/2 mile away from our front spot. We just walked our dog in the grass around our RV and cleaned up after him. I felt safe here. No problems at all. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Helpful and friendly campground staff. On site BBQ was nice when we pulled in late due to a flat tire en route. The campground is in the not-so-nice end of town, but it seemed fairly isolated and safe. There is some city noise, but more from the frequent comings and goings and the number of people present in such a large camp. Also, the Wi-Fi is seriously under-provisioned: A camp this size will consume as much Internet bandwidth as a good sized neighborhood. The WISP (Nomadix) chokes at any time other than early morning and late evening, so it's clearly not adequate. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This park is very nice and very busy. The staff is excellent and the setting is lovely...lots of trees and nice landscaping. The cable TV and Wi-Fi are great and the hookups are fine. The city has high water pressure so everyone is warned to use pressure regulators upon check in. It is very convenient to the downtown and Temple Square which is an interesting place to go whether you are a Mormon or not. The sites are paved and level with small grassy areas in between, however the sites are rather narrow so you are close to your neighbor. But this is a city park, so space is at a premium. There is a small barbecue food service truck on site which was recommended by our check in person...we found the food to be mediocre at best and not worth the cost of the dinner. However, there are plenty of restaurants nearby if you want to eat out. The laundry is clean and large...no waiting for machines or dryers. There are car and RV washing bays right in the park, too. It seems that this park is near the airport as there was both airplane and helicopter noise, but nothing that kept us awake. I have no idea what the previous reviewer meant about not feeling safe here. The surrounding area is commercial, but does not appear the least bit dangerous or troubling in any way. There are very few RV parks in Salt Lake City, so we would gladly stay here again and consider the cost fair given the amenities and the location. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This was a nice RV park, but very crowded and busy! We came in without reservations but were given a nice spot. The staff in the office were very helpful. The sites are fairly close together and the streets kind of narrow, but we didn't have any trouble getting our 35' fifth wheel maneuvered in. There were some pretty large rigs here, too. They have a gate to a nice walking path behind the park that runs along a river or canal. They call it a dogwalk but people use it for hiking and walking. It runs into a well-kept little park behind some state office buildings. We didn't have any problems with the area of town that the park was located in. There were no "undesirables" lurking around and we didn't hear of any crime taking place recently. The other half of the park is for full-timers. It's convenient to downtown and easy access to I-80. We'd certainly stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

I don't understand why there are negative reviews of this rv park, it is very clean, great cement long pads, beautiful landscaping, nice picnic tables and the staff was helpful and friendly, easy to enter and exit. A great park to stay in while in Salt Lake City area, close to everything and lots of activities planned. During the week, there was water aerobics in the morning, games, movies several times per week in the evening, ice cream social on Saturday. Staff was friendly and helpful in all areas of the park. For an urban campground, this one's not bad. Pretty much shade, convenient to downtown and to major roads (even on the city bus line), small pavilion used for family reunions & other gatherings, large staff. Bathrooms in the main building tend to be sloppy during the day & evening due to all-day pool use next to them; the satellite facility seemed cleaner & nicer. Laundry area large & convenient (if you're camping close to the main building). Campground roads & pads paved (asphalt) with smallish strips of grass in between - sites tight, and not as level as one might expect. Definitely the most conveniently located campground for Salt Lake City and for access to entire range of Salt Lake Valley area. Computer in office for guest use, limited time, sign-in only; Wi-Fi also available for those with their own computers. Nice pool, with water aerobics several weekday mornings, and lots of use all day. The campground is surrounded by a mobile home park, many of which sites are occupied by longterm RV rentals. We stay at a lot of KOA Kampgrounds, and this is the first one I recall not being escorted to our site especially since three yellow shirt workers were sitting on the golf cart at the entrance. Great for young children! There is a pool, spa, playground equipment, a game room with TV, and more. Although there was a bit of confusion among the staff as to which sites were vacant when we arrived, the staff were helpful and friendly. The Park seemed to be located in an area of the city which is a bit run down, but we felt safe in the park as there were so many families there and the staff were buzzing around in their carts checking on things throughout the day. There are decent, free showers that are not all in perfect shape. There is free internet access via a guest computer in the office. The trees next to each site are mature and provide a nice amount shade. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The park is nice and well kept. The sites are paved and the location to downtown Salt Lake City is excellent. We did not know that the VIP part of the name means that this RV park is in the middle of a very large community of people who live in their RV's permanently. They were nice RV's and it was not a threat or problem. It had a car/RV wash on the premises which is nice. Our problem was that the enormous center part of the park with maybe 100 pull-through sites was completely empty and they crammed our big-rig with 4 slides in the two side rows that were completely full and a little tight because people parked on both sides of the road. We came to ski Park Valley and Snowbird so the pickens were slim. We probably would return, but would lower our expectations. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a nice park with nice managers. Most of the sites are pull throughs and the ones toward the back have smaller trees and the ones toward the front have larger trees. This can be important if you have a satellite dish. The sites are wide enough for our triple slide rig and still be able to walk on the pavement. I would recommend this park. Most sites seem to be fairly close together, but we had no trouble getting in. Apparently near a train, because we heard train whistles all night. This is a well cared for park and very organized. Most sites are shaded with grass and paved pads. It is 14 blocks from down town yet noise is not a problem. Free shuttle service is provided to Temple Square. We base camped here for 10 days to explore the area. An extra bonus is an on-site cafe run by an older couple. They are open for breakfast and dinner and have a selection of home cooked items. It's very convenient and a good value. We will definitely stay here again when in the area. Have stayed here before, but this time was just over night, so they put us in a nice long space so we didn't have to unhook. We were near the long term (monthly) folks that ring the outside of the main part of the park, but the sites were nice and clean. The office staff is very nice and gives lots of information. The Utah State Fair had just opened that day right down the block and we could hear the announcers, but all was quiet by 10:00 pm. We stayed at this park while attending a conference at Salt Lake City. It has great access to downtown. The site we were provided was fine for our motorhome and tow vehicle. Staff were always helpful and the overall attitude within the park was a very friendly one. There is what should be a very pleasant walking trail along the river behind the park but, unfortunately, some campers who simply will not clean up after their dogs make the path a disgusting, filthy mess. Rubbing their noses in their dogs' "leavings" would be a fitting punishment for these people. We booked a spot for 2008 before leaving. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I initially was not going to review this park because I basically agreed with most of the positive comments. It has nice sites and very good facilities. What caught my eye was all the negative comments about the area around the park - "thug haven, bad side of town, industrial area, not a great neighborhood." I took an hour plus walk up and down the the main street and saw nothing but shops, small businesses, fast food places, etc. and one large modern 4 story office bldg. I was still befuddled by other reviewers' negative comments until I realized that the only other pedestrians I saw on my walk were Latinos. A large park, well maintained with several permanent residents. Caters to all types of camping from tents to motorhomes. Very mature with lots of grass, trees, paved sites, on-site RV wash station. Even has air compressor for your tires. Store has relatively good supply and has several RV items. Staff seemed friendly and helpful, especially the work campers. Park has arrangement with Temple Square for free tours and vans run back and forth fairly frequently. If you're staying on a Sunday morning, you can take a shuttle to the Square and sit in on a live broadcast of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. We stayed here for one night on a cross-country trip. The park was crowded and noisy, primarily due to it's location in an industrial area of Salt Lake City. During the night, we heard train whistles and in the morning we heard loudspeaker noise from a nearby factory. The showers were not clean and should really be maintained more than once a day due to the high volume of use that they get in this large park. Additionally, the game room was not open in the morning at the posted time. On the plus side, the park is located near a nice park and fairgrounds. It is near many fast food places and grocery stores and 14 blocks from Temple Square. The Square is not walking distance and hard to get to if you don't have a vehicle available. The staff was friendly. I would only stay here again if I was interested in doing things in Salt Lake City and wanted to be nearby. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Salt Lake City KOA is a very pleasant KOA. I would say it is above average as far as KOA's go. The store is small, however the trees are mature and with paved roads and level sites, our overall experience was very nice. It is located in the older part of town, however we did not experience any difficulty finding it. The staff was friendly to us, and there is a fitness trail and running path next to the Jordan river which runs directly behind the KOA. The pool is clean and the park is clean as well. There are no fire pits..., however that was not a deal breaker for us. Loved the park, and would return anytime we are in the area! We camped here in a Motorhome.

Over priced, overrated and rude. I made reservations 4 months in advance and it took us 2 hours to find the park. It's located in thug haven, right downtown Salt Lake City. By the time we got there, they had us placed in a site that was to small for our rig. I was so unhappy that we left without even inquiring about a refund. Generally concur with other comments--large well-maintained park with level spaces adequate for big rigs. Near airport but no airport noise, and no traffic noise. I didn't hear the trains that some mentioned, but the park is so big, I could have been much farther away from the tracks. The east section with lower-priced long term spaces is more of a trailer park, while the west section is more short-term and more like a typical high-turnover RV park. The park is located in an industrial area, but it's not scary. I walked/strolled downtown in about 30 minutes. Two things to be aware of: (1) I deposited outgoing mail in the group of mailboxes long-term residents use--about halfway down the main road through the park. That mail never got delivered; I don't know if it's still in there or lost somewhere or what. I called the office from our next destination, but the girl who answered the phone didn't understand much about mail (probably a teenager thing). (2) The park's web site claims a self-service RV wash that will handle the biggest rigs, but the clearance marked on the bay is 11'8"--not big enough for mine. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We've been back to this park more than once. It's always best to call ahead because the best sites get taken right away. Nonetheless, on this last visit, we got one of the last phone sites and we were very satisfied. We had done the tourist-bit on previous stays; this was just a couple nights to rest well along the road. The park brochure is one of the best sources for directions to get to and from the major highways. Upon making the initial reservation we spoke to two different people and got two different rates. At the time, we did not realize there were two different sections and this was not explained to us. The KOA side monthly rate we were quoted was $600 full hookups and the CampVIP side was $335 full hookups. Of course, we chose the less expensive price. When we arrived we went to our assigned space. After putting our slides out we almost touched the trailers on either side of us. The "grass" between the sights is full of weeds and stickers. The "full hookup" does not include electricity and cable. We heard train whistles all night. We came here to go to the Family History Library and this is the only convenient place to camp in the immediate area. We will tough it out but will not stay here again. Lesson learned to make sure to ask enough questions before you commit. We've used this site as a guide as we travel and it has proven to be quite accurate in its assessments. The best of the 3 parks in the SLC area. Nightly price seems expensive, but weekly rate w/Good Sam or AAA is $162 (2 nights free), so that brings it down to $23/night. The only park of the 3 with wi-fi, although a pay service, we paid for the month-to-month service which is only $16.95 and cancellable within 1st month. The park is clean and kept up. Even has a restaurant of sorts from a mobile trailer & serves up home cookin'. My only complaint is that there's train tracks all around, so the train whistles are frequent, including at night. This park was a good place to stay couple days or weeks. Staff was nice, place was clean, and we had no problems. We camped here in a camper.

Large park, convenient to downtown Salt Lake, the freeway, and bus stops. It was quiet. Gets busy during summer. Good for winter or off season long term usage. We camped here in a camper.
