The previous reviews were so low we decided to drive our car over first to check the place. We were staying on South Hero but found the area too far from our points of interest near Burlington. As we drove in we had a negative first impression because of the shady hotel. As we checked out the RV grounds we found mostly seasonal lots--some trashy. We decided since there are so few RV parks around Burlington we would be able to tolerate the place since we would be on the go most of the time. We were allowed to pick our spot. Our first night the seasonal neighbor kept us awake with their loud TV or radio. A previous reviewer was right about snarling dogs. One tried to attack our tiny dog but fortunately the dog was tied up and did not get to our dog. Most people seemed to have very large dogs. FYI - we had to prove up-to-date shots for our dog upon check-in. We were most disappointed with: 1)the WIFI was pathetic. I wish places wouldn't state they have WIFI when it doesn't work. We could never get reliable internet here. We gave up. 2)A major negative for us was the fact that you cannot turn south to leave the park and we had to drive approximately 3 miles up the road to get turned around with our RV--a car can make a u-turn in a shorter distance. Traffic is heavy during rush hour so give yourself plenty of time if venturing out at that time. We would never want to stay here again but if back in the area we probably would because of the convenience to the attractions and relatives. We would consider checking out North Beach again but we found the city traffic too much with a 40ft motorhome. FYI - not sure why a previous reviewer indicated Shelburne Museum was not nearby - it is within a mile or two of the park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We used this campground as a home base while visiting family in the area. It is nothing special but has the necessities and we did not have any problems. There are a lot of seasonals but most are well-cared for and the older folks who seem to live on site are quiet and friendly. It was not noisy (but then again we were only there to sleep) or dirty. We had the first site right behind the store, so its lights shone brightly in our windows, but we had plenty of room, hookups were fine, and we enjoyed the many birds who visited the bird feeders at the double wide next door. Showers (free!) and bathrooms were adequate and clean. You do drive by some rundown cottages and storage areas, but they're not back where the camping is. The man at the desk was helpful and efficient, and we have no real complaints. It is very convenient to all the things we wanted to do in Burlington/Shelburne, so we would probably stay here again as a base, but never as a place to hang out. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

It tells you how bad this campground is when I paid for 5 nights and left after 4. I knew I made a mistake as soon as I turned off the highway and drove into the campground. Potholes everywhere in the dirt road. Junk campers full of trash and shacks that were once cottages line the road. We had a back-in site next to a seasonal that had insulation board covering all the windows. Behind us was a camper with flat tires full of old mattresses and other junk. Our water supply was in a pit full of vegetation with the nozzle barely above ground. I was told this was a winterized site. My cable box was smashed so we had to use a splitter and get a signal from my seasonal neighbor. Sewer opening was marked with an inverted soda bottle. I never felt comfortable there. I never put my awning out or my patio carpet. Dogs everywhere barking and snarling. I wanted to visit Shelburne Museum and Shelburne Farms but the points of interest rated highly by Woodall's were too far north to suit me. Mega mistake! Shelburne Camping is rated a 2 out of 3 by AAA but it is definitely over-rated. Shelburne is a beautiful area but this campground is a blight on the community. I rented a car from the local Enterprise site. Another disaster! I would visit Shelburne again but I would definitely not stay at this campground. We camped here in a Motorhome.
