This is a nice, small, primarily tent campground that is well maintained by the park authority. We spent one night during Labor Day weekend and there were plenty of sites available. Everyone was tent camping. Smaller trailers could back into some campsites witout too much trouble. All sites are under trees. There are only a few lake side campsites with limited views of the lake. There's a small playground and grassy field. There are 3 fairly clean bathhouses which is plenty for this size campground. A camp store and dump station are at the cg entrance. The main park which is on the other side of the lake has Par 3 golf, mini-golf, frisbee golf, fishing, rowboat rentals, ice cream parlor, carrousel, small train rides, and a good hiking/biking/fitness trail. Private canoes and kayaks are allowed, but no rentals. There is no swimming. You can get to the main park by using the trail. I was the only one who noticed a lot of night road noise from a road outside of the park. Otherwise, the campground was quiet. I'm sure we will return for a full weekend stay. You would not believe this place in the the heart of hustle bustle Northern Virginia! It was great camping. We were there a weekend in June along with maybe 3 other campers. It was great! The showers were clean, the kids running the place were just HS kids working for the summer and they were fine. It was quiet, shady, and overall very relaxing. I would give it a ten if it had water and electric, or at least electric. But if you can stand to be without hookups for a day or two and want to go visit the District, this is the place to stay! We camped here in a Tent.
