A nice, quite, small family campground surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains right off the parkway. Many spacious tent sites located in the woods next to a stream. Only 15 RV sites, but they are spacious, level and well spaced apart. Road leading into the campground is a little narrow and mountainous. But once in the campground the road is gravel and in good condition. RV sites are long enough for bigger rigs. Each campsite has a picnic table, fire ring, and gravel pad. Also an open grassy area is available for really big motorhomes/RVs. Our site was shaded by fruit trees and backed up to a small creek with views of the wooded mountainside. Very peaceful. Nice hiking trails. Friendly and accommodating staff/owners. Pet friendly. Secluded location, but safe atmosphere. Nice, well kept pool. Small playground with grassy area and gameroom. Restrooms/showers and laundry room needs a little work, but were clean. Beautiful setting. All the other campers were extremely nice and polite. Campstore has ice, firewood and the basics. Another neat option was the large tipi set in the woods that is available to rent. There are extra charges ($5 for electric, $2 for sewage or dump station, and fees for more than 2 people). Still a good deal. Only drawback is that only 20amp electric is available. Over all a good experience. Would go back again. Enjoyed the peace and quiet, listening to the birds and watching the chipmunk play outside our camper. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
