Sites are very poor shape and crowded. Roads leave a lot to be desired. The only nice thing about the Park was the employees were friendly and helpful. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We were very disappointed in this campground. It was not maintained at all. The staff was very rude to us. We found the campground doing an internet search and my husband called to make reservations. While making the reservations he asked about the canoe rentals which it shows on the website. They said yes that they had them. When we arrived he asked how we could rent a canoe and was told they had them but they were inoperable. There is no campstore. Trash was piled up during our entire stay. Not once did anyone come to pick it up. The showers were clean but their is no where to change or set your clothes and towels. There was no playground and the basketball hoop they had was in a grass field with very tall grass. We had no picnic table but did find one over by the bathouse and we carried it over to our site. It was in very poor shape. The pool was the only nice thing. It had 2 diving boards but only 1 worked. The kiddie pool was not filled. The horseflies were terrible. There were lifeguards on duty. This is not a place we would ever stay again after being treated rudely by the staff and the poor conditions of the campground. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Very nice campground, lots of shade and very close to everything that is happening in Williamsburg. Not very much for the kids to do at the campground yet. We went on the 4th and there is a new owner. He is very nice and has alot of ideas about entertainment at the campground. When we want to camp near Williamsburg, this is whrere we will camp. The staff is very helpful and the price is right. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Let me start by replying to the previous post. This is NOT a FAMILY type cg. I rated it a 5 because we knew what kind of cg this was beforehand. I camped here with some other guys on a fishing trip. This place is known for catfishing, which was great by the way. For our purpose it served well. But I definately would not take my family here. The whole cg is in need of repairs, but like I said it served our purpose well. It was kinda nice that nobody was there when we were there as well. If you like catfishing this is the place to go other than that this cg is useless. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This park is a classic example of an older park that hasn't been upgraded to meet modern RV needs. It also hasn't been well-maintained. While it may have been a nice park at one time, and still has the potential to be one given the nice setting, the owners have chosen to perform little maintenance and few upgrades. The roads are in poor condition as are the campsites - and you're forced to share a single water bib for the pull-thrus. Combine that with a premium price tag for the middle of nowhere and separate charges for everything (including hand-launching your kayak in the creek) and there's little wonder that virtually no one was staying there during our visit. We won't return. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
