We really enjoyed this park but found the beach access very difficult. You have a long hike in and there are some huge dunes to get over. Not a problem if you are in good shape but we saw many people struggling. Kids loved the dunes and played on them for hours. Winds tend to be fierce in this area so dressing warmly, even in summer, is necessary. Lots of paved bike trails and hiking available. Very pretty park. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This campground is heavily wooded and it rains a lot here! It is a gorgeous area though. The campground is on Diabo Lake. It is a typical old national park campground and there are very few sites for large RVs. Cell phone service is not available and there are no nearby stores. There are no roads to explore other than the main highway but there are many trails. We camped here in a Motorhome.
