Brand new park just opened this year 2008. Right on Silver Lake many RV pads are waterfront. Some of the pads are so close to the water we could practically fish from our RV. Large graveled RV pads. Paved park roads are excellent for morning strolls and bike rides. Can not wait to go back! Park Models are available to purchase and staff said rentals will be available soon. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
New owners are trying to improve park. They said they were re-doing the sewer tanks and they would offer them again at some point. Lake access, dock fishing was nice and boat rental reasonable. Sites are level but utilities are irregular. One site had 30 amp that I saw. One site (16) had a long extension cord to connect 15 amp to the bathroom junction box. Our site had 15 amp solely. Make sure you clarify all utilities for each site upon reservation. There was a lakeside barbeque and campfire nightly for all to enjoy. The central grassy field was great for the kids. Sites 10 through 15 had a paved patio and a patch of grass with picnic tables and fire ring. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is definitely one of our family's favorite spots. While it certainly could use a little sprucing up it is still kept clean and the staff are super friendly. Playground, paddle boats, canoes, excellent views of Mt. St. Helen's right off the dock. Very kid friendly and the sites are spacious and many are private. Very charming setting; quaint and reminds you of the fifties! Note: There were once sewer connections but they are no longer offered and campers may dump at the State Park 2 Miles west. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We pulled in & decided not to stay. The place is a run-down pit. All RV sites back up
into this grassy circle where you just watch everybody else - no privacy whatsoever. Office staff rude & not helpful. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Gravel roadway in places. Unlevel gravel sites. Firepits and picnic tables are limited, you need to grab them from an unused site. Campers next to us were "friends" with the owners, and very noisy and unruly. There is a restaurant and bar on site which contributes to the noise level. Their "dock" to the water is a very scary thing to walk on. They seemed more interested in making money on the bar than the campground. Playground was in disrepair. We saw a lot nicer places than this near Mt. St. Helens. We camped here in a camper.
The owner and his extended family live on property at Streeters. They're all nice folks and seem to mean well, but the place reeks of squalor. It's in a nice setting near a lake, and they recently put in a boat dock and one small KOA-style cabin, but the rest of the RV "resort" looks like a third world country: dogs roaming, trash on the ground, old bits of broken machinery and parts of furniture. The owner had his young teen sons (who live on property in a separate beat up camper) clean up our site, hauling away broken bricks, a pile of rocks, etc. But they left pieces of old cars, furniture, etc. Truly a lousy place, and the bathrooms looked like they needed cleaning 30 years ago and nobody got around to it. I feel bad slamming it so badly because the folks there seemed nice--that is, until nightfall, when the partying started and went on until 1 AM. We stayed there because all of the places that were rated were full. Let this be a warning to you. There were plenty of nicer-looking places that weren't full, and weren't rated here, closer to Mount St. Helens. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
