We have camped here 3 times now. This time we made our reservations too late to have a spot in the upper, treed area of the campground, and were in a site in the flat area near the park office. These sites are far too close together, and there is little privacy. It's too bad that the park management does not control the many unleashed dogs that run around the campground. This is a very nice place with a lovely setting, and this is the one thing that makes it unpleasant. Skamokawa Vista Park is a wonderful place to relax and watch the big ships on the Columbia River. We will go back, but we'll make our plans a little earlier to get one of the sites that we like. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Since last reviewed they have upgraded the upper section of this park with full hookups including cable TV. The upper sites have 20/30/50 amp. I wouldn't call this area big rig friendly. There are some tight turns and some sites you would only be able to pull straight into. We stayed in one of the lower sites that had electric only #13 (we drove straight in) but were able to reach the water faucet nearby to fill our tank. There are other sites down below that have water, power and cable. There's a dump station in the lower area too . We were able to get our dome satellite in but we had poor cell and air card service until we used our antenna with our signal booster. This is our 3rd time here and it's not our favorite park but it's the closest park to Rosburg where we were visiting friends. We think this park is now overpriced. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Skamokawa Vista Park lies along the Columbia River. The campground has 34 sites with hookups, nine for tents or RVs and four tent-only sites. There’s also a playground, playing field and basketball and tennis courts. There are 2 sections here. An upper loop section to the right, and the section along the river. We found it to be pretty "rustic" and well used. When the wind comes up and cars drive along the dirt road expect lots of dust!! Our car looked like a cinnamon cookie after 2 days. The prices vary as to what type of "accommodations" you choose. $23.00 full hookup, $21.00 electric only, standard site $19.00, tent site $16.00 and satellite tv $2.00 if it's at the full hookup site. This was a good place to spend the night but wouldn't consider it a destination campground. It does offer fishing and there is a beach area along the river, it was just too cold and windy. There are loads of blackberries in the park so we made a pie and stayed warm inside. There are no showers or laundry facilities here and the only time the grass is green is in the rainy season. There is a dump station in the upper loop. Reservations can be made by calling 360-795-8605 We camped here in a Motorhome.
