One night stop-over on way home from Hatteras (no reservation, just stopped in for convenience). This is a small campground behind the All State Motel (between the expressway and the motel). Noise level was high because of the expressway. Roads and pads were gravel overgrown with grass. The motel is a very inexpensive motel and being so close to the expressway we were somewhat concerned about our safety. We didn't have any problems with the electric, and we didn't use water or sewer. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
The park was easy to find and the road to the park is in good condition. The internal park road are poor as are the individual camp sites. There isn't enough water pressure to take a shower. The site are mostly grass mixed with a little rock and they are not level. Pets run loose. The surroundings look like the area is depress as does the camp ground. Several sites had permanent residents. The attendant was friendly and helpful but I would not recommend nor would I stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
To be honest, we were forewarned that this was not a destination campground. It is just a parking spot for people visiting the area. So in that respect it fit the bill, we were there for a Med. School graduation in Lewisburg. We were literally 15-20' from the road, so we felt every vehicle go by, luckily it was not a real busy road. A office was being installed by the friendly working manager & I think he stated it will include restrooms, had none when we were there. Wi-Fi did work & I think there was cable. There are two entrances, but our 32' travel trailer partially blocked one & had to park our long bed CC pick-up next to the fence between the entrances. Had room to load & unload motorcycle & park it next to our camper, not sure if awning could have been fully extended, next trailer was fairly close. Basically gravel RV spots are level, short & narrow, slide was a few feet from stockade fence next to road. It is stated that private land is nearby to ATV. No gate or security, probably not required in this area. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
