We picked this campground because of the pool and boat launch. The pool is great even though some of the young children using it need more supervision for safety reasons. The boat launch is 3.5 miles down the road but they do have small docks you can use closer to the campground. The other reason for the low rating is the small sites, dirt sites and roads leave everything very dirty, and this is the noisiest campground we have ever stayed in. I am not sure if the noise was coming from the campground or a nearby neighbor because it was too late to go out and investigate. Also some of the clientele is undesirable because of poor language and again not supervising children. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Overall a very nice campground. The sites are big and most provide lots of privacy. The majority of the campground is very wooded except for a large center play area with playground equipment, a shelter and game room. We played a quick game of football within this area. There are quite a few seasonal sites, but they are well kept and everyone is friendly. The full hookup sites have a holding tank for sewer. Mine overflowed a little when I dumped before leaving. So, I had to use the dump station to finish. I'm not sure the sewer hookup is worth the extra $3 per night. Also, the interior roads are mostly sand, so don't plan on doing any biking. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Well maintained, secluded sites, a great clean pool and super friendly staff are the perks at Kilby Lake Campground. The kids had a ball, and the bathrooms and showers were fantastic. We love Kilby Lake and will be back. We camped here in a Tent.
Overall we are not big fans of private campgrounds (as opposed to state or county parks), but Kilby Lake is one we'd return to. The pool and hot tub were nice, and the mini golf course was fun. They had a lot of fun activities for the children. The best part though were the sites. Large open grassy sites, yet with trees and underbrush separating you from your neighbor so you didn't feel you're on top of one another. The staff was very friendly, and escorted us to our site. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.
Some of the biggest camp sites I've ever seen. Excellent privacy with trees and brush between sites. Nice amenities but we didn't use most. Staff seemed friendly and helpful. Good relaxing stay. Lots of bugs, but that's unavoidable. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Campground is in a forest of oak trees near a small lake - a nice setting. There is much to do for families - swimming, fishing, boating, game room & playground, and a petting zoo and bird sanctuary. There is also a small store in the campground office. The showers and toilets were immaculate. It is a lovely setting, but some campers don't respect quiet time hours, and the staff does not enforce them. This made our stay unpleasant. There should be better enforcement of the campground regulations. We camped here in a camper.

We found this park to be clean and the staff friendly, with the exception of a female staff person who was telling the children at the pool not to keep jumping in because it drops the water level of the pool. The Saturday night owl calling was neat-for adults as well as children. Some sights by the park had a cement slab to park on which was nice and level and also cut down on dirt/sand, yet was surrounded by trees. We would stay there again. Very nice campground, great for families. Facilities are clean and well maintained. I would give this campground a 10, except that I found the owners to be a bit anal about noise after quiet hour. I appreciate quiet hours as do all campers, but in this campground I guess just opening and closing the door to your trailer after quiet hour is frowned upon! We camped here in a camper.
This park was one of our favorites so far on our year long trip across the U.S. We're usually boondockers, but when we need to shower, do laundry, etc., we try to find places as posh as Lake Arrowhead. Not only was this resort clean and top-notch, but the facilities were some of the best we've seen (big professional washer & dryers). It was big and nice but it still felt like "real camping" because it's in the trees (but many spots still open enough to get satellite--we did). Plus, they have an ongoing FREE WEDNESDAYS program where if you stay there midweek for at least two days, you get Wednesday free! Many long-term people are there but they keep their trailers tidy and fun looking. It's a great place that we'd stop at again if we were in the area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Normally I camp in more secluded campgrounds, and I was a little in shock with how non-secluded the sites were. Even though it was a holiday weekend, it was not too loud. They did seem to be having septic issues- the restrooms and laundry facilities were closed several times while they pumped the system out We camped here in a Tent Trailer.
We camped here over the Memorial weekend. Although the campground was full you didn't feel crowded. Lots of stuff for the kids to do. Swimming pool, small lake with a beach. Older campgound but well maintained. Didn't use the showers but they looked like your average campground shower and they were clean. Very friendly people. They do enforce the rules which was nice. Amish stores are close buy, terrific bakery goods. We would camp here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
