This was a nice campground, especially if you went to the north side and could get a spot on the bluff overlooking the lake. But the sites did not have water hookups and were very tight and challenging to back into, overall a great place if you want a nice view of the lake and the host is just great, very helpful. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

I loved this campground. It's lake front, my Verizon phone worked well (I got online with it) and my satellite TV worked. The spaces are very large, no crowding. It's dog friendly too. I could spend a summer here, it was really nice. I only gave it a 9 because you need to use the water in your tank as there are no water hook ups. There is an artesian well, where you can fill up jugs, for drinking, and it's wonderful water. There are seasonal campers and transients, all very nice. I highly recommend staying here. It has a good proximity to Bayfield, and the Madeline Island ferry. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

WAY too many seasonal campers. Showers were dirty and didn't have any hot water. Quiet though and off the beaten path. Seems like a nice little town just across the bay from Ashland, WI. Artesian well was a bonus. Makes excellent iced tea water. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The newer of the two campgrounds operated by the City, Thompson's West End Park is located at the foot of Eighth Avenue West. Camping opportunities at the park are provided by 51 RV and tent sites off paved access roads. Thompson's West End Park offers a variety of recreational opportunities for residents and visitors alike. The park offers campers mostly sunny sites as an alternative to the heavily shaded Memorial Park Campground North of town. Campsites at West End Park are more suitable to large recreational vehicles and motor homes and is more suitable for campers with large vehicles. Seventeen seasonal camping sites are permitted at West End Park. All sites have a view of Chequamegon Bay. The campground is provided with: * Paved Access Roads * Sanitary Dump Station * Flush Toilets * Unguarded Swimming Beach * Playground * Open play area * Pay Showers * Electric Service * Wonderful Tasting Artesian Water * Fishing Pier * Shoreline Fishing * Boat Launch ($5 fee charged) Cable TV is provided to all sites with electrical hookups. We camped here in a Motorhome.
