This is the only place you can park, expensive comparatively, but thats what happens with a monopoly. Showed wi fi but could never hook up. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a typical National Park camp. No electricity, no water, just fresh air, good sleeping, and the resident buffaloes. We took our showers at the Fishing Bridge campground. In spite of the fact that it's all dry camping, we had a glorious time. Take your water jugs to the spigots at the restroom--the water is delicious. If you forget to bring firewood, don't despair. They sell it at the registration office. Campfires are welcome here. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We reserved late, so this was the only Yellowstone campground available at the time. Although the campground had a lot of open space, the actual camp sites were very small. The fire ring was on the driver's side of the site. We had a difficult time fitting the motorhome and tow vehicle in the space. There were no trees at all. Bison were omnipresent in the campground. But, hey, you're in Yellowstone! We camped here in a Motorhome.

America's National Parks, " For the enjoyment of all, and the extreme profit of a few". This park was worth about a third of what they were charging. It only had 20 amp electric, the roads and pads are dirt so it was either dusty or muddy, the sewer connections were outdated and leaked and the laundry was ridiculously overpriced as well. This park is not convenient to any attractions in Tetons or Yellowstone. Colter bay would be a better choice for the Tetons and Madison Junction would be better for Yellowstone attractions. On the positive, it did have trees and was easy to get into for a large RV. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Expensive for what you get, but there are not many choices near the Tetons. One morning I went to all the bathrooms and all were out of toilet paper; I had to go to the main lodge to find toilet paper. There are some nice shade trees, but the roads are dirt and there is not much grass so everything was pretty dusty. There is not much to do at the campground. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

Nice heavily wooded campground. Good base to explore Yellowstone. Next time, though, we would move to different campgrounds to eliminate so much driving. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

Excellent campground. Gotta be the best in Yellowstone. The sites were well spaced. Just make sure you are on a loop (we like loop J) and not along the access roads. Only things that were a hassle were that the dump station was closed/removed and the showers at the entrance were outrageously priced ($3.25). The staff enforces the trash/food restrictions with a vengeance. Highly recommended. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Nice park. Had deer walking through the campsites in the morning. The park is clean and centrally located in Yellowstone. We thought it was a great base from which to explore Yellowstone. The spaces weren't huge but were adequate for my 30' TH. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

It is VERY difficult to get a 40' motorhome in these spots and we were within inches of the awning of the RV to our rear. We did like being there once we got parked. "Things" were generally otherwise efficient in the park and on the site. Otherwise, the best part of this park is that it's "Yellowstone." But aside from getting in the site, it sure wasn't a bad park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Camping in scenic Yellowstone from the comforts of our RV gets this park a 9. Being surrounded by the sights of Yellowstone help you ignore that you are actually surrounded, quite closely, by RV's. We were fortunate to get an end spot which gave us some breathing room and our own tiny grove of trees on one side. Appreciated the room to park our dually truck next to us also as we would not have fit otherwise. Being packed so closely reminded me of some of my pet peeves as some RVers insist on leaving their outside lights on all night, shining into their neighbor's window, while others fire up their diesels for 20 minutes early in the morning before leaving. Having a diesel ourselves, I don't understand the necessity for this. Note there are no tables or fire rings in the RV section. This campground does have a large, clean and staffed laundry. All the staff were friendly and the facilities were well maintained. Store, gift shop, and cafe close by. Make sure you have reservations as park was fairly full even in "off season" and only so many spots for big rigs. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The big attraction for this campground is the trees and the wonderful view of Lake Yellowstone in areas of the campground not surrounded by trees. Many of the sites are not level so make sure to bring along a means by which you can level your rig. This is honest to goodness camping: About 80% of the campers were either in tents or tent trailers with the remainder in everything from travel trailers to motorhomes. Very few campers used generators during the day when we were there so daytime noise isn't a problem. Also, the Grant Village area isn't very busy since it's somewhat removed from the major YSNP attractions. If you are visiting both YSNP and the Grand Tetons it is centrally located. We were pleased to see that the Visitor Center, which contains an interesting Fire of '88 exhibition, is undergoing a remodeling and expansion project. Showers and laundry are located outside the campground where you can get 6 glorious minutes of hot water for $2.00. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

The park is awesome. The campground is really nice. It is near Old Faithful. The food wasn't good at Old Faithful. Over priced cafeteria food. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We chose this site based on reviews that it has many trees and shaded sites, and were not disappointed. We reserved a pull through site for a 29 foot travel trailer and got a great site near the end of the access road loop. This ended up being the only way in and out of the site, as we had to back out, no way to "pull through" the c-shaped site with the bollards placed along the road to keep people on the pavement. However, plenty of room to back out. Sites are situated in loops on the side of a main access road. Be aware that they are one-way and plan for a sharp turn to go counter-clockwise from the access road. We needed to swing wide into the other lane on the access road and use all of the intersection to make this turn. Sites are moderate sized (large compared to private CGs, smaller than some state/national parks). Firewood is plentiful and about $7 per box. You are allowed to pick up deadwood all over the park (still plenty after the forest fires). Lake is too cold to swim in and swimming is only allowed in certain areas of the park. There is so much to do that we did not make it to the Ranger activities, but they looked interesting. Pleasant people all around. Drive to pay shower area, but bath house was clean and modern. This CG is not far from Grand Tetons, made 2 day trips there. Recommend spending at least a week in the park, half in this CG at south end and half in either Canyon or Madison area. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
