Best part: service from the owner gentleman. Super helpful. The park is nice and he is making a lot of improvements. The sites are mostly shaded with well kept mature trees. The park is on the lake with 3 fishing piers. Not great for kids, no good swimming or play equipment. Very quiet at night but there are a lot of permanent residents here. We camped at Point A Park (formerly A Sweet Home Alabama Campground and RV Park) in a Travel Trailer.

This wonderful campground did an emergency reopening to assist with people fleeing Hurricane Irma. They were clean, helpful, friendly and did *not* jack up their rates. Just cannot say enough about how terrific the owners were. If I ever find myself in the part of the country again, I will go out of my way to stay at this campground. We camped at Point A Park (formerly A Sweet Home Alabama Campground and RV Park) in a Motorhome.

The web site is contradictory. Upon arrival with a 10lb dog, they said no pets allowed. There is no store, They sell no ice. They lock the restrooms at night. No hot water. No grills to cook on. No nearby garbage receptacles. There was broken glass all on the ground and knee tall poison sumac everywhere. Not to mention roots poking up everywhere. This was in the tent camping section. This place could be a gold mine with a lot of work. The grounds need leveling and topsoil brought in to cover roots (and glass). We camped at Point A Park (formerly A Sweet Home Alabama Campground and RV Park) in a Tent.

Stayed at Point A from December 27 until January 3rd. Very peaceful and serene. Had a lakefront site. The owner was absolutely fantastic. He helped us set the camper, was there for any questions/problems. He is the new owner and lives on site. He even came to the campers and emptied the tanks so you don't have to move the rig to the dump station. They are working on many improvements. I would recommend this campground if you are ever in the area; you won't be disappointed. We camped at Point A Park (formerly A Sweet Home Alabama Campground and RV Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Found this place trying to avoid hurricane in Florida. Happily surprised! On a lake, nice big sites (parked on asphalt, but large grass site, shade trees), great Internet, over 150 cable channels, new owners-super nice people and working on making it a better. Bathrooms have been remodeled and are nice. Would come out of our way again to be here. Nice "camping". They have done a lot of work and are continuing to fix this place up. The bathrooms and showers are brand new. The electrics were all 30 amp before, but they are putting in 50 amp. Our spot had 30 amp but was fine for our needs. The grounds are clean, except for a few sand spurs. Sites were spaced nicely apart. No sewer and didn't see or try to dump so no info for that. Didn't use the cable. The new owners are great and working hard. We will be back. We camped at Point A Park (formerly A Sweet Home Alabama Campground and RV Park) in a Motorhome.

This campground needs some TLC. It has good potential but has become run down. Bathrooms and showers was filthy dirty and they have not been cleaned in a long time. The power box was missing screws and 110 amp was burned and taped over. Office and site manger was dingy dirty and definitely need a women's touch as my wife said. Only good things that I notice was cable and WiFi. Nice and quiet as we was one of two campers. If Owners read this please invest some time and money as this could be a gold mine. Overall Rating:

This is a nice quiet place to stay. Right on a lake with lots of shade. The only downside is that there are no sewer hookups at the camp sights but the owner will drain them for you for a nominal fee then there is a drain right outside the gate. Overall a great place to stay. We camped at Point A Park (formerly A Sweet Home Alabama Campground and RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Tranquil setting. Quite and relaxing. Sites on lake side are very large. Almost all sites are shaded. We stayed 5 days and never needed our awning out. Two docks for fishing and swimming. Good Wi-Fi and cable. Bathrooms are atrocious. Suspect there has been no updating since the 70s. Mostly clean, but pretty grungy overall. Never saw them cleaned whilst here. General daily maintenance very lacking. Waste bins throughout camp were full when we arrived and were never emptied despite full time on site hosts. Not much to do or see in the area other than water fun at campsite. Washer/dryer were padlocked and were $3.00 each. Would have given a higher rating but for the bathhouse. We have once again stopped here on our way to Florida for the winter. Since the new ownership has taken over a few years ago, the place has really changed for the better. They now have cable and wi-fi and set up a disc golf course and even for us old folks, it was fun to play. A nice way to get a little exercise and have a little fun. Camp host was most helpful and helped us back in to our site, as we arrived after dark. They also have pull-through sites available, we wanted a waterside site. We will definitely drop by again on our way back north and will stay a little longer also. Fishing should be better in March. Overall Rating:

This was a great little park. The parking sites are as wide as any park I have ever been in, with plenty of nice grass for you and your pets. Out site was level and free of trees that might interfere with a satellite antenna. I let the manager know I had a satellite dish so he made sure to give us a suitable parking area. All of the interior roads and parking areas are paved asphalt. It was a very quiet and clean place to relax for a night or a week or so. The manager is very friendly and helpful. The only problem we had was following the GPS directions. They wanted to take us down a road with a 2 ton limit bridge. IF your GPS tries to take you using any road other than county road 59, you may have to turn around and go regroup. Click on the map on this review and you can find your way there. We will stay at this park again and would be willing to drive out of our way to stay here again. It truly is a jewel. I would have rated it higher, but it does not have sewer for a full hook up. There is a dump station as you exit the park. Our cost includes the Good Sam discount. We camped at Point A Park (formerly A Sweet Home Alabama Campground and RV Park) in a Motorhome.

This campground is being improved each time we visit. We usually visit it on our way to and from Florida. 3- 4 years ago, it was getting unbearable: loud people, too many visitors that stayed to long, etc. These past 2 years, there is new management and the improvements are wonderful. The bathrooms are clean now, the campground is cleaner, and the riff-raff is gone. The camp host is friendly and helpful and is glad you are there as a guest. It wasn't like this before. The improvements are very noticeable and are very welcome also. I rate this campground as one of the best on our trip to and from Florida every year. This is a great campground, they have several sites right on the lake and about 12-14 pull thoughts off he waterfront. The camp host were very friendly and helpful. The campers are mostly local, and were very friendly also. They also have a nice swimming area with a paved boat ramp. The showers and bathroom were clean. The weekend we were here they had a family union in their clubhouse and everyone seem to be having a good time, cooking out, kids playing on the playground. A pleasant time all around.
