Tranquil setting. Quite and relaxing. Sites on lake side are very large. Almost all sites are shaded. We stayed 5 days and never needed our awning out. Two docks for fishing and swimming. Good Wi-Fi and cable. Bathrooms are atrocious. Suspect there has been no updating since the 70s. Mostly clean, but pretty grungy overall. Never saw them cleaned whilst here. General daily maintenance very lacking. Waste bins throughout camp were full when we arrived and were never emptied despite full time on site hosts. Not much to do or see in the area other than water fun at campsite. Washer/dryer were padlocked and were $3.00 each. Would have given a higher rating but for the bathhouse. This is a nice quiet place to stay. Right on a lake with lots of shade. The only downside is that there are no sewer hookups at the camp sights but the owner will drain them for you for a nominal fee then there is a drain right outside the gate. Overall a great place to stay. We camped at The Sweet Home Alabama Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.Undo

We have once again stopped here on our way to Florida for the winter. Since the new ownership has taken over a few years ago, the place has really changed for the better. They now have cable and wi-fi and set up a disc golf course and even for us old folks, it was fun to play. A nice way to get a little exercise and have a little fun. Camp host was most helpful and helped us back in to our site, as we arrived after dark. They also have pull-through sites available, we wanted a waterside site. We will definitely drop by again on our way back north and will stay a little longer also. Fishing should be better in March. This was a great little park. The parking sites are as wide as any park I have ever been in, with plenty of nice grass for you and your pets. Out site was level and free of trees that might interfere with a satellite antenna. I let the manager know I had a satellite dish so he made sure to give us a suitable parking area. All of the interior roads and parking areas are paved asphalt. It was a very quiet and clean place to relax for a night or a week or so. The manager is very friendly and helpful. The only problem we had was following the GPS directions. They wanted to take us down a road with a 2 ton limit bridge. IF your GPS tries to take you using any road other than county road 59, you may have to turn around and go regroup. Click on the map on this review and you can find your way there. We will stay at this park again and would be willing to drive out of our way to stay here again. It truly is a jewel. I would have rated it higher, but it does not have sewer for a full hook up. There is a dump station as you exit the park. Our cost includes the Good Sam discount. We camped at The Sweet Home Alabama Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.Undo

This campground is being improved each time we visit. We usually visit it on our way to and from Florida. 3- 4 years ago, it was getting unbearable: loud people, too many visitors that stayed to long, etc. These past 2 years, there is new management and the improvements are wonderful. The bathrooms are clean now, the campground is cleaner, and the riff-raff is gone. The camp host is friendly and helpful and is glad you are there as a guest. It wasn't like this before. The improvements are very noticeable and are very welcome also. I rate this campground as one of the best on our trip to and from Florida every year. This is a great campground, they have several sites right on the lake and about 12-14 pull thoughts off he waterfront. The camp host were very friendly and helpful. The campers are mostly local, and were very friendly also. They also have a nice swimming area with a paved boat ramp. The showers and bathroom were clean. The weekend we were here they had a family union in their clubhouse and everyone seem to be having a good time, cooking out, kids playing on the playground. A pleasant time all around.
