Read some of the earlier reviews and it seems they have worked hard to repair the issues. Yes, the road into the park is bumpy and not well paved. That is a county issue not the parks. It is way off the beaten path, but we had no trouble getting here. Follow the signs and your GPS Until last turn then ignore and go straight on paved road. The park is well mantained. Neat and clean in our opinion. The people running i were very friendly. They told us about sights around to go see, etc. I do have to admit that the long term annuals have all the really nice sites overlooking the lake. It has a nice dock for fishing. They feed the fish every morning at the waterfall and you can see giant catfish feeding. The pool was clean and nice. It is a ways away from the campsites though. Clubhouse is a good walk too. Could use an update, but was clean and while we were here they had a breakfast which was very good. WIFI is a little weak but you can use. Overall compared to some this was really nice. We camped at Hidden Cove Outdoor Resort in a Motorhome.
Saw the Old Log Jail in Houston, The Clarkson Covered Bridge, The Clarkson Civial War Museum (owned privately so given a personal tour) and then went to Cullman to see the Ave Maria Grotto (Go See) all in one day. You can paddle the lake, fish, swim etc.

We so wanted to love this park after driving 30 miles on secondary and bumpy roads. The park itself was very nice, The sites, we are finding, were typical of thousand trails parks, close together and unimproved. Even after all that, we still loved the fact that it was out in the country. What we did not like was the fact that as soon as we plugged in our 50 amp service our power management system shut down everything due to pole issues. We let the office know and the manager assured us it would be fixed, but was not taken care of the entire time we were there. We ended up on 30 amp during some very hot days where we had to juggle air conditioners to cool one end or the other. Electrical problems seem to be the norm for Thousand Trails parks, as we had this issue in one several months ago, but have stayed in others with no issue. If you can get past the 50 amp service, the pool was nice (looked fairly new), the grounds were well kept. The lake around the park was beautiful, but could only be seen by the cabins and the seasonals. If TT put money into electrical upgrades this could be a gem. Call the campground for directions, the GPS does not want to take you in the correct way. And, yes the final road into the park is very bumpy, just take it easy. We camped at Hidden Cove Outdoor Resort in a Fifth Wheel.Undo

This is a nice small park, it is clean and well maintained. Nice club house and pool but not close to each other. One section has 50 amp and one has 30 amp. Power seems good so far. One draw back is that there are lots of lease sites. I think around 70%. But when I was here there were several sites open. Verizon does not work here and Wal-Mart is over 30 miles away. But there is a good food store in Arley. Roads and the grounds are well maintained as are the sites. We camped at Hidden Cove Outdoor Resort in a Motorhome.Undo

TTN rate. First, the roads are terrible. The trip in to the CG is an adventure and there is only ONE way to get here from the main highway. The interior roads are horrible with washouts and ditches cut by torrential rains and no effort to repair or fill. The lodge is in bad condition and smells very musty/moldy. Pool tables are pushed against a wall and other equipment is stacked or pushed aside and not useable. The restrooms are clean, we didn't attempt to use the laundry. The CG staff is friendly and helpful. This is a small CG with both pull through and back-in sites that were once pretty nice. Now the railroad ties which designate sites are buried and covered with grass, the gravel which once was isn't anymore. The ground is pretty soft right now and caution must be used to stay on the more solid portion of the site when driving in or setting the jacks. There are some concrete patios which are also partially overgrown with sod and weeds. We had issues with the power stanchion spiking to 136V. Over the air HDTV was okay. The setting is great, quiet, country setting, boat launch and moorage, fish well in the boathouse. The pool was not open when we arrived. Long term tenants have the nicest sites and in a small campground, take up quite a few of the available spaces. It was pleasant here, quiet and peaceful, CG just needs help to restore to even good condition. We would return if in the area. We camped at Hidden Cove Outdoor Resort in a Fifth Wheel.Undo

This was a Mid Atlantic Resort, now Encore/Thousand Trails. Excellent preserve. Lake side with boat docks and fishing. Great swimming areas and a pool. Sites are gravel and mostly level. Beautiful country in and around preserve. Rate reflects Thousand Trails membership. We camped at Hidden Cove Outdoor Resort in a Motorhome.Undo
