This park is totally run down and unkept. The sites are not cleaned (cigarette butts in grill and all over the site, dog poop, weeds, poison ivy). The site we were given was long enough but, not wide enough. Our awning if pulled out would have been in the road. Some of the sites had a piece of paper over the electrical box stating there was a problem with it. We paid an additional entrance fee (typical for state parks) however, we had to pay extra for a map of the park with hiking trails which wasn't even correct. We did some hiking in the park and found trash everywhere (in some places it was as if someone literally dumped out a bag of their trash). Very disappointing and we won't be returning! - Dab888

Beautiful and peaceful, cool nights. Friendly park staff, great Campgrounds even though state funding has been reduced to maintain. - TravellerLott

So, upon arrival there is absolutely no where to park if you are pulling a trailer. The main checkin parking lot is tight to turn around in with a 30' TT when empty, much less when full and busy as it was when we arrived. There's an extra shoulder before the buildings, but if you don't know it's coming you'll miss it and have no options left! They really need to figure out some camper parking for checkin! Something with pull-thrus, there is a good spot right in front of the store that would work great. The campground (lower #2) is in some disrepair. They gave us a gate code which was funny because the gate has clearly been missing for quite some time. The road up into around around the campground needs some repaving. The sites are pretty level, BUT - they are all worn down so far that the sewer hookups stand taller than your trailer connection point! There's no other dump site available that we saw, so unless you get one of the few sites that isn't as worn down you'll just have to figure it out. Campground had WiFi, but it didn't work the whole weekend we were there. Signal was fine, but no internet. The sites are pretty closely packed together, so don't expect much privacy; although the campers were all pretty nice. - joshjack

Wonderful place to stay. Right on a creek. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Very dog friendly. You can rent tubes or kayaks to float down the creek. They also have cabins for rent. We stayed a total of 3 weeks here. Visited with family and saw the area. Next year we will stay here again. - AnneDave
Dec 2016 - $15.00
Closed for the week but told on phone we could pull in and stay if we were self-sufficient. Price reflected Passport America discount. Had full hookups. - horseylady
Nov 2016 - $25.00
Small campground with mostly permanent or longterm units. Very hard to find at night. Dogs run free, bark, and leave their deposits which we encountered in the dark. It took awhile to clean up the mess we tracked into our place. Loud music woke me up 11 PM, neighbors woke me up 6 AM talking loudly while they took 15 minutes to get in their cars and leave. The owner was very friendly but we would not stay here again. - MsLucy

Jan 2018 - $34.00
Overnight stop. Very cold that week. We filled tanks and disconnected from water and sewer. Did not need to unhook from trailer. Very easy to get around. Few trees. Campground was all gravel but level and well kept. Dog run available and nice areas to walk dog. Camping World is short walk (200yds). Staff very nice. We'd stay here again. - v and c
Oct 2017 - $29.00
While many use this park as a convenient overnight stop, I have stayed here for extended periods several times. Very friendly staff. The street accessing the campground is a mess, but not the campground's fault. Once inside, plenty of room to maneuver. Sites are rock, and well spaced. DISH service available with a portable dome. Campground does have new cable system, but still has limited channels. I would stay here again. - Wildmans Clan
Sep 2017 - $34.00
Well laid out park for short stays. Sites and road compacted gravel. Interior roads easy. Sites level. Cable tv with many channels. Good park wifi. Good Verizon and T-Mobile signals. Short term sites satellite friendly. Full timers at park are in a back section away from short term. FHU mid rear site. Friendly staff. Nice large grass fields for rover, small fenced in K9 park. Gas station at entrance of park for gassers. Patio and table at site. Camping world in walking distance of park. - wtravlr1

Jun 2016 - $30.00
My spot was all grass. Some guy who was filling in for the owner pounced on me to get $30 cash. The WIFI cuts in and out, the cable does not work and he ran some water to make sure "there weren't any bugs." I did not hook up to the water. No sewer to hook to. One of two choices in the area. The other is an outrageously priced KOA. In general, I 20 in Alabama and Mississippi lacks RV parks. Good Sam rated this a 5/5/5 It should be a 2/2/2. - RVWriter
May 2015 - $27.00
This is one of the cleanest, most well kept campgrounds I have been in so far this year. The grounds are so well kept, and the owner/manager is the most friendly person we have come in contact with. He escorts you to your site, makes sure that you are all set up, brings a cable tv box to you. You can tell that this man is so very proud of the property that he owns just by talking with him. I will stay here again any time I am in Alabama. - Walter Pfiitze
Oct 2014 - $30.00
Park is clean and attractive, and is on a gentle hillside with large grassy areas and many trees, but didn't see any at pull-through sites. The park is divided into overnighters and monthly sites, with all overnight sites pull-through. Sites are reasonably level (we put a 2x6 under wheels on one side to level the trailer). Sites are on grass with some gravel and are a little lumpy. Fee is $27 with Good Sam discount, $30 without. Host requested cash instead of a credit card, and I didn’t press the issue. There are no rest rooms or showers, and I think no laundry. Checkout time is 3PM. Free wifi is available. WiFi was very weak inside my aluminum-sided trailer, but strong when I used my Alfa Wireless USB adapter (available from Amazon.com and extremely useful at RV parks). I didn’t test it because I used the wrong access code, and used my Verizon JetPack instead (good signal inside trailer). The host was very friendly and offered his help when setting up my trailer. The park is near State 78, which parallels I-20. There was a little freeway noise but not obtrusive. I didn’t notice it when outside talking to the host. Park is about one mile east of the Dandy RV Superstore; handy if parts or service is needed. Coordinates: N33.61771, W85.76218, which brought me to the park entrance using my Garmin. We stayed three nights, and would stay again. - Jim22

Apr 2016 - $30.00
This is a quiet little park. All grass but clean. Friendly owner. We were in 43 foot motor home. Nothing fancy but good to stay while traveling. Highway noise during busy travel but not bad. Feels safe. We would stay again. Going to races and she said she doesn't raise her rent for races. I would give it a higher rate if they had pads for Rv. We don't use bath houses so that doesn't matter to us. - Pam_Ricky
Nov 2011 - $15.00
Basically a field with hook-ups. Power and water pressure are good. The sites are not level and our water valve box housed a mound of fire ants. The road noise level is very high. We were the only transient guests this particular day and shared the campground with a handful of very run-down full time trailers. Price reflects PA discount. - Full-Time Roamers
Sep 2008 - $15.00
This is a new campground and the owner's are just getting the campground running. There are about 15 level sites that are on grass with some gravel. The roads are gravel. Access is right off the highway. This is a basic place to stay with W/E/S but no bathrooms or shower house. Our rate was using Passport America. We stayed here so we could visit the Talladega Race Museum and track. - Traveller101

Oct 2014 - $100.00
About this park, the only reason we were there was to attend the fall NASCAR race at Talladega Speedway. As NASCAR camping goes it is actually a 8/10. Wifi or cable would make it a 9/10. It is quiet with friendly neighbors and owners. It is close enough to walk, bike or ride the golf cart shuttle service. But located far enough away to escape the parties and drama associated with tailgate-party style camping. If this were anything but a race weekend for us, this place would barely rate the 6/10 that I gave it. It did have a safe level site with reliable electric and good full hook-ups. Maybe OK for a one night stop. Excellent location and park for our race camping ! - CactusCrew
Oct 2014 - $40.00
We stayed here for the October race, and to visit relatives near by. The campground is not a "Resort by any means of the imagination. That being said, it is clean, there are a couple of full-timers (Staff) living there. The Owner and staff are VERY friendly, and helpful. Again it's not a resort, but it has the basics, (Water, Electric & Sewer). the staff does its best to keep the fire-ants under control, (all you have to do is contact them). as well as keeping things peaceful. We will return and stay there again next year. - md_procouple
May 2014 - $45.00
This is about as close to "trailer trash" as you are going to find. Don't waste your time or money. 30 amp sites are $35 and 50 amp sites are $45 and what you get is nothing! Half of this "park?" is mud. All grass with gravel road. Everything in here is old including the few full timers and their "rigs?". - rgeisel
