This park is primarily for permanent residents in mobile homes or rvs. Access to our site was difficult because it slopped off the road and required backing over a drainage trough. The site had a level concrete pad designed to be used as a patio, but we had to use it to park on as the adjacent area for the motorhome was severely rutted gravel. It would have been difficult to impossible to level there. Nonetheless it was a pleasant rural area to be in. Staff is friendly and helpful. No wifi yet through out the park. Owners have purchased the equipment and are waiting for the installers to set it up. An adequate place for a brief stay to visit the historic sights Birmingham has to offer. We camped at Carson Village Mobile Home Community in a Motorhome.

Great value. Stayed for 5 days to visit family in Birmingham. Managers were very responsive even though I arrived late. Really good park. We camped at Carson Village Mobile Home Community in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

I pretty much just stayed in the immediate area, but there doesn't seem to be too much to do. This park has a clubhouse so there's a place to hang out.

Very Nice Staff. We stayed on short notice with our HDT and 45 foot 5th wheel. The staff worked hard to find a place for us. The other reviews are correct that the office / clubhouse is in the convenience store /strip mall and the storm gutters are deep. The campground was a mobile home park and seems to be transitioning into a mixed-use park. The campground roads are two lanes in width and paved, as you'd expect for a mobile home park and there are very few low branches. All the sites we saw are back-in and large. The water pressure, electric, and over the air TV are good; our Verizon internet was fair to poor. Understand that the park has Wifi, pool table and kitchen facilities at the clubhouse, but we did not visit it. There are swings for kids. The site we stayed in was loose gravel and rutted under our weight. However, there is a concrete patio and pavement partially into the site area to park on. The park is about 20 minutes from the downtown medical centers. We camped at Carson Village Mobile Home Community in a Fifth Wheel.

First of all, we could not find the office because it was in a strip mall on the main road. Then we could not locate our site. When we finally were guided to it, it was loose larger gravel. Our tow dolly basically has to plow through it when I backed into the site. Most of the units were perms and not in the greatest condition. Intersections all seems to have this vicious gully in them that scraped the bottom of most vehicles who passed through them. $30 was a ridiculous price for one night in a run-down trailer park. We camped at Carson Village Mobile Home Community in a Motorhome.

This is our sixth stay here over the past two years as I have attended an executive doctoral program at UAB. The park is primarily a trailer park that accommodates RVs. There are a lot of students and working folks who I have found to be very friendly as I have literally stayed all over the park. This park is closest to town and the traffic is a breeze compared to Oak Mountain State Park, the other alternative. I have found the staff to be very accommodating and the sites are all level and extremely large compared to typical RV sites. We will definitely return. We camped at Carson Village Mobile Home Community in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a permanent resident park with a few open sites that they rent out for shorter stays. We stayed here one night and it was pretty convenient to Birmingham, quiet and reasonable. Don't expect any interaction with neighbors or social life. We camped at Carson Village Mobile Home Community in a Fifth Wheel.

It is a nice clean park. The office is a little hard to find as it is in a service center. The manager was very accommodating when we had a problem with our HM. We camped at Carson Village Mobile Home Community in a Motorhome.

No Wi-Fi. This is a mobile home community but RV's are welcome and they do have room among the resident homes. It is a nice place to stay if you are having work completed at Cummins Mid-South as it is only about 6 miles from the shop. The lady in the office is very accommodating on the check out time and she will work with you. It is located on Carson Road and you have a hard time finding the office. Just pull into the gas station and look for the office on the far end my laundromat. If you are looking for a good place to eat just go North of Carson Road on Hwy. 79 for about half a mile on your left side of the road. A small hole in the wall but they serve good BBQ. I would use this mobile park if in the area again and had to stay over to have work done at Cummins. We camped at Carson Village Mobile Home Community in a Motorhome.
