We reserved a spot in advance online but weren't assigned a specific location. When we arrived, the office was closed and there was no information left for us. There was one person in a golf cart who knew nothing about our reservation and said to just pick a spot. So we drove around only to discover there was no way to loop around with a rig our size towing. We had to leave the campground to find a way to turnaround and try again. Once settled, I took our dogs for a walk on the paved campground road, where one of them was bitten by a snake which required a visit to the Animal ER 50 miles away. Clearly we won't be returning to this campground. We camped at Yellowhammer RV Sales and Campground in a Motorhome.

Web site not very functional, we sent an email reserving a pull thru, we never received an answer. We drove over and hours listed closing at 5:00, it was 4:00 and the office was closed. We walked over and talked to residents who said, park and pay tomorrow. Because a tornado warning was issued we wanted to settle in. The office closed early because of the warning, that was not very helpful. Should have put a sign saying this! We camped at Yellowhammer RV Sales and Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There is a one way to come in or go out, tight. The web site wasn't easy to navigate, apparently they stipulate that Passport America is not applied on pull thru's. We might have choosen a back in but since the office was closed, we didn't know. It was disappointing. Site is level on the pad, but the grass was water drenched. Too expensive!

This is a great overnight stop between Montgomery and Birmingham. Sites are level and well-graveled. Hookups are good, especially well-placed on pull-thru sites. Parts store. Restaurants nearby, within a mile or two. Love's convenient for fuel. We camped at Yellowhammer RV Sales and Campground in a Motorhome.

Back-in and pull-through sites on the back end of Yellowhammer RV Sales & Service Center. Easy gravel roads. Full-hookup level sites with good electric and good quality water. No pool, rec room, or other things. Small dog park (but I found a huge field across the street to let the dogs loose). Good park for overnight or a few nights. We would come here again. We camped at Yellowhammer RV Sales and Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Yellow Hammer Campground has just opened for business, and we are delighted to have found it. The first night we chose a pull-through because it was late, but the next morning we chose a back-in site at the end of the row which gave us more privacy for our dogs. Our site had a concrete patio with a paver extension. There was also a grassy/sandy area where we put up our screen room. The campground has a nature trail around a small lake (catch and release fishing) and then through the associated trailer sales lot. The round trip was an enjoyable 6/10 of a mile. The restrooms and showers and laundry area are immaculately clean. There is a small lounge area with a big-screen tv and couch and chairs as well as a small kitchen area. The lounge can be reserved for groups who want to meet there. There is a fenced playground for small children and a fenced pet area. The campground is locally owned, and the owner and staff were all very helpful and pleasant. We will definitely stay here again. We camped at Yellowhammer RV Sales and Campground in a Motorhome.

There are 50 very level FHU gravel sites situated near a pretty lake. The sites are nicely spaced with a third of them being pull-throughs. There is a grass strip between each sight with a tree, picnic table, and concrete patio. There is FREE cable TV for those without a satellite, FREE Wi-Fi, a beautiful laundry, gorgeous bath houses, a playground, dog run, a nice fishing pier, and a hiking trail. We even enjoyed walking through the RV sales lot checking out the trailers.

This is an unusual RV set-up. It is the typical RV Sales and Service business with a brand new campground out back. It is very convenient to I-65. The campground is located between Birmingham and Montgomery, AL. We highly recommend this RV Park to our fellow travelers. The people that work here are all so very nice also. Each night two workers go to each site and ask if there is anything they can help you with or if you have any problems with the site. Really a nice touch. We camped at Yellowhammer RV Sales and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Easy access, level gravel sites. The bath/laundry/lounge area was first class and very clean. However, the campground was not very foot friendly for dogs on very rough gravel. No grass to walk thru along the sites, and the tiny patch of "grass" at each site was just a few tall unmowed weeds with rough gravel underneath. There was one nicely mowed spot up by the bath/laundry, which was the farthest possible from where I was placed, when I had specifically asked for a site with easy access to grass to walk my dog. My SurgeGuard reported the electric had a bad ground and reverse polarity, but it seemed to work ok. Had there been any staff present, I would have asked to be moved. I left the next morning after 9am, but never saw a single staff or attendant during my entire stay. We camped at Yellowhammer RV Sales and Campground in a Motorhome.

Very convenient campground for a stopover. Not really intended to be a long term campground. Right off the freeway, so expect road noise. Managers are super friendly. Bathrooms and laundry are cleanest we've seen in a long time. Lounge area with TV and kitchen facilities. Small dog park and children's playground. Small lake for fishing. Great Wi-Fi. I give it a high rating because it's clean, convenient, and suited our needs. Would definitely stay here again if passing through the area. This KOA is great for an overnight stop. However, it is right on the highway so traffic noise is noticeable. This could be a nice campground with some landscaping, etc. The restrooms, showers and laundry are located in a building that is also an RV repair business, but they are very nice. They are extremely clean and modern. The manager was very nice and escorted us to our site. We would recommend it for an overnight stop. Ok for an overnight stay. Right by the interstate so easy on-off but do have the traffic noise. All very rough gravel sites. They have a large pond, but it is all fenced in and seems like a waste because you cannot use it except for fishing. No swimming pool and very little other amenities for kids. Great park for an overnight stop over. Easy on and off I-65. We got a back-in site which backed up to the small lake which was pretty. The back in sites are a little short and narrow. I couldn't back up as much as I needed because my slide would hit the electrical pedestal which positioned my steps off the small concrete patio. Should have gotten a pull thru site, they seemed a little wider and much longer. Entire park is gravel and our site had some new gravel which was very soft. The restroom, shower, laundry and kitchen/lounge areas were very clean and inviting. The managers were very nice and helpful. We dropped off a propane tank at the propane area and they filled it quickly and delivered it to our site. If the area was paved and had concrete sites this KOA would rate higher. We camped at Yellowhammer RV Sales and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Rate is with Good Sam discount. Convenient to I-65 and does have road noise. Gravel access road and sites. A nice place for an overnight stay. On-site manager is very friendly. Caution: don't mistake the interstate on-ramp for the KOA access road. Be sure to visit the Heaton Pecan Farm gift shop that is with walking distance of the KOA for pecan candy, jams, pies, and ice cream . Follow the nature trail for a shortcut through the woods and along the shoreline of the pond. We camped at Yellowhammer RV Sales and Campground in a Motorhome.

Great stop over park from 231 south of Birmingham. Undergoing renovation. Lovely laundry and bath facilities. Nice store. Road noise, but to be expected with such easy access to road. Friendly staff. Great satellite reception and excellent WI-FI. We camped at Yellowhammer RV Sales and Campground in a Motorhome.

Super nice park conveniently located off of I-65 (exit 208). Thirty one level stone sites with concrete patios and steel fire pits. Has cable TV and Wi-Fi. Clean, well lighted and modern laundry, showers, restrooms and TV lounge area. Small camp store at front desk with very nice on site managers. Great place for traveling through or spending a weekend.
