24 Parks near Coden, Alabama
May 2008 - $26.00
This park appears to be going through some change. The sign at the entrance says Bay Park RV Park. All the literature and the web site says Alabama Port RV Park. Office is an Anchor Realty office. They have approximately 10 new concrete sites that they are listing as RV sites for sale. All of the others are either back in or pull through gravel lots. The lots are level and easy to get into. The bath house is a mess. On the men's side, the toilets are not clean and several do not appear to work. There is one shower that has a curtain and appears to be used somewhat regularly as there are personal bath items left in there permanently. The building appears to be of fairly recent construction and it looks like they just did not finish it nor maintain it. The woman's side is of a similar condition according to my wife. There is an abundance of garbage around the perimeter of the park and the dumpster is overflowing. Park personnel are aware of it as they were mowing the grass close to it today. The park does have potential to be a nice place, but I cannot recommend it in it's current condition. - mwallace61
Jan 2016 - $15.00
Very convenient park located about 20 miles south of Mobile and 15 miles from Dauphin Island. It's gated with concrete drives and many concrete pads for back-in and pull-through. We've spent 3 winters at the facility and plan to return next year. Owner will go the extra mile to ensure your satisfaction. Highly recommend the park.
Sites are near to one another but sunny and open with a patio. - gobigred
Mar 2015 - $27.00
The sites are smaller than we were told. Most of the back-ins are concrete and level, but the pull-thrus are unlevel gravel sites with potholes. The laundry is divided into two parts, and you can't go through from one to the other. One has two washers and two dryers. The other has two dryers but only one washer. It looks like they had to send the second one out for repairs. Washers and dryers both cost $1.50. The pool water was green; they obviously hadn't cleaned it. We may return to this area, but we will definitely not stay at this campground. - mrpeepers
Jan 2015 - $0.00
Spent 3 months here in 2014 and returned for another 3 month this year. All main roads are paved as are many of the sites. The owners are very visible and go out of their way in assisting to make your stay a pleasant experience. - gobigred
Jun 2016 - $22.00
Great place for an overnight stop. It was clean, quiet, friendly staff, and level. Would stay here again. - junmy3
Mar 2016 - $22.00
Very nice, quiet, friendly no-frills campground. Owners very nice and grounds were clean and freshly mowed. Did not give a 10 only because the sites and roads were not paved. About 7 miles from Bellingrath Gardens and not too far off interstate. Perfect lay-over for travelers, as several campers here were. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend.
Lot spacing was nearby with some shade. Site surface was grass and features a picnic table. - Countrygal1
Feb 2016 - $21.00
Park is nice with large, level grass sites and a small pond. Owners are very nice. Full hook-ups. Pull-throughs and back-ins. Quiet. Our biggest issue was NO wifi and no cable - both of which are advertised as existing. We left after one night because we were looking for a place with wifi. If that had been working, we would have stayed longer. - DrM Traveler
May 2015 - $43.00
This is a great campground located in the middle of everything. The owners are super nice and the location is great. There is a bike path that you can go from one end of the island to the other on. Water, Electric, and sewer were fine and the private bathrooms with huge showers were very nice. They rent bikes and have air available to pump up bike tires. We will definitely return here. - jeffs
Mar 2014 - $46.00
Don't let the pictures fool you. This "RV Park" has 12 sites crammed into less than 1 acre. Space between sites may not allow awnings. The hosts are friendly and the beach across the street is wonderful. But, in all honesty, this place should be your choice only if you have no other options. - Rob&Terri
Aug 2013 - $37.00
Very small mom pop park. Level and utilities including Wifi were okay. Beach is across the two lane city street (about 1,000' to water). Would stay here again. There is a restaurant next door that had live music on Friday night that was a little too loud. Depends what you like. Nice laid back small parking lot campground. - Crawdot
Mar 2012 - $36.00
Awful place, a feeling of creepy sums it up best. We drove in, met owner, and left. Worst park I ever drove into (and out of). Plenty of other parks down the road if you are going to Bellingrath Gardens. - User2407
Jul 2010 - $25.00
Great host who waited up for us to get there after 9:00 at night. Utilities were excellent and the park residents were all quite and friendly. Many workers are here for the oil spill clean up but they were as quiet as church mice getting in and out of the park. You won't find a better good old boy than the man who runs this campground. A fair price and level camp. - JWT
May 2009 - $27.00
This park was very dirty. This park was very trashy. I would not stay here again. The trailers spaces were too close together. - redrose
May 2016 - $18.00
Very nice with paved roads and gravel sites. Long back in and very long concrete pull thru sites. On Hwy 90 and 2 miles off I-10. Many towering trees for almost complete canopy of shade. Only a few sites with satellite signals. Cable tv, antenna TV good, no wi-fi. Good cell signal. Nice pool and large on-site fishing pond with walk path. Good on-site restaurant. OK for big rigs. Mostly seasonal rigs but well maintained. Park clean and staff helpful. Will stay there again. - Pepper Dan
May 2016 - $18.00
A very neat and clean campground with mostly spacious sites. Some sites are all concrete, but ours was a level limestone pull-thru with a concrete patio. Entire campground is shaded with lots of huge oak trees and I loved all the squirrels running around. Mostly permanent residents living here, but all campsites are clean, no outside junk, and no real old nor FEMA campers. Friendly neighbors, a nice 12 acre fishing pond, new pool and a restaurant with good food on grounds. Sites did not have picnic tables, BBQ pits nor firepits which we don't use anyway unless grandkids are with us. Did not use laundry or bathhouses, so cannot comment on this. I recommend and will definitely stay here again - but will request to be further away from the noisy, busy highway next time. - Countrygal1
Apr 2016 - $29.00
This was a one night stay. I requested, and received, a pull-through lot. It was tilted hard to one side. There were two large trees, one on either side of the lot. I had to move the trailer a couple of times to clear the trees with the slide outs. The trees were 22" away on one side and 12" on the other.
There was a sewer leak in the lot next door with sewage pooling to the surface. The garbage dumpster was full and had food, trash and other debris all around. It apparently had not been cleaned up for quite some time.
There were two cable connections at the service box. One in a box, one hanging loose. Neither one worked. I complained at the office and the lady working there told me she would have a maintenance man come look at the problem. He never showed up.
The Wi-Fi was not working and during my visit to the office, I asked about that also. I was told that due to all the large oak trees in the park, sometimes it was very hard to get a Wi-Fi signal. The Wi-Fi antenna was on a pole in the lot next to ours so that excuse doesn't work.
The "park" itself has some beautiful trees and there is a lake that we walked our dogs around. But there are a lot of long term residents and some of their trailers are really trashy.
Even though we only stayed overnight, we won't go there again. If you advertise that you have Wi-Fi and cable service, I expect them to work.
I also expect a "RV Resort" to be neat, trimmed and clean. This place was not. - Crabman
Nov 2015 - $36.00
Nice campground. Reminds me of camping at state parks. Wi-Fi is available in the pavilion, but if your site is close you can get Wi-Fi from you RV. Cable TV is available but depending on what site you have you may need 150' of cable to connect to it. Not all sites are full hookup. We would stay here again. - jprisbe
Jul 2015 - $43.00
The park doesn't have full hookups for all spots. We were in the drive through at 49 and its just a bad spot due to the inability to extend the awning because of the telephone pole and tree.
Bathrooms for the mens was trashed later in the evenings. The cleaning crew comes in around 9:30am to clean up. From what I understand they are going to demo the bath house and build a new one.
Over all the park is nice and was packed on the 4th of July week that we were their.
It's a quick walk to the beach and to the ferry. Fort Gains is really close as well. Our kids love to play and everyone around watches the kids. Nice facilities for the kids to hang out and be occupied.
You will not get any discounts here I tried Good Sam and they do not accept it.
The other park on the island is extremely small we drove by just to check. - bigredcherokee
Mar 2015 - $40.00
The sites are on the small side and very close together. The power hook up for our neighbors site was on our patio. Most of the park is covered by tall pines and old oak trees. The island itself is very nice with some modern conveniences while maintaining that old Florida village feel. Don't forget you are on an island so come prepared to chill out and relax or drive 50 miles for some enterainment. We would stay here again. - bamawig
Jan 2008 - $20.00
This place was really old. You could tell that upkeep was not a priority. The residents there, were just that, residents. No vacationers other than us, just people that have lived there for a really long time. - refugee
Apr 2014 - $25.00
Generally run down with many permanent residents. We were parked in one of the pull throughs at the front of the park. Tried to dump tanks but had to stop as they were having major problems with the septic system for this area of the park. Don't care to expand on that subject any more than I have to. Lots of noise during the day with traffic coming and going and sirens passing by on the street. Not a park I would recommend staying at. - DennisD
Nov 2012 - $25.00
Staff friendly and helpful. Many large trees. Mostly permanent residents. About a dozen pull through spots up front for pass-through rigs. Gravel pads but all slope up-hill a bit; requiring raising the back end (which I don't like to do on jacks) Wifi is fine. Cable fairly good on local channels but not most cable channels despite their extensive list. 30 amp voltage on the high side, approaching 128-130 volts. - 26Isata
Apr 2012 - $22.00
Not much for what I would call fancy, BUT it was a decent place to hook up and feel fairly safe for the night. Did use laundry room and it was OK. The place seems to need to be kept after, and maintenance brought up, but it was quiet enough and worked out for us. Sewer outlet near rear of space so bring extra sewer hose and only one outlet on each site. Looked to be many long term campers here. It was right off I-10 close to the exit so it is easy to find. - JohnNLinda
Aug 2016 - $41.00
This will be one of, if not "THE", cutest, cleanest, friendliest, and warm RV parks you have ever stayed in. You are met at the security gate upon arrival by one or both owners and immediately ushered to your site. The roads and sites are all gravel but very well maintained and level. There is a chalkboard sign framed in wood at each site welcoming the guests with your names listed and any children an pets that may accompany you. The grass between sites and all landscaping in the park is very well maintained. You can tell that this park is very well cared for top to bottom. The laundry room is cuter than most have at their own house. The restrooms and showers are immaculate and I might actually use them at this park. There are at least couple of covered decks with various comfortable outdoor furniture functioning as casual hangout spots. I just can't say enough about this place. Do yourself a favor and see it for yourself. This will now be a regular stop for us when we transit the gulf coast. - Paul Goodspeed
Jul 2016 - $39.00
This RV park sets the standard that all RV parks should be judged by. The name of the gated RV park is perfect because they have done everything possible to make their guest want to relax while staying there. There are 2 large hammocks and several swings under the trees that invite you to relax on a hot day. The pool was crystal clear and the flowers and landscaping were fresh and inviting. The shower/restrooms are the cleanest and most modern we have found anywhere in the country. The southern charm shown by the hosts (owners) when you arrive makes you feel like you're visiting family. We were given a jar of jam as a thank you gift and offered helpful information and help planning our visits to the attractions that we wanted to see in the area. After check-in we were escorted to our site where we found the first names of each guest (including pets) written on a chalkboard at the front of each site. We noticed that the hosts always address their guest by their first name as they go by each site. That is unusual in most RV parks. We stayed at this park for 5 days and we were offered a sincere thank you for staying and given a snack for the road at our departure. I would highly recommend this RV park to anyone staying in the Mobile area. You will not find a better value or a more relaxing RV park anywhere. - Freelander1
Jul 2016 - $20.00
The park is less than 1 year old and is in excellent condition with a pool, laundry and shower bath facilities. The ownership is taking care to keep the facility an exceptional campground that is heads and shoulders above any RV camping property within a 50 mile radius. An excellent plus rating. - drcpa
