24 Parks near Coden, Alabama
Nov 2015 - $36.00
Nice campground. Reminds me of camping at state parks. Wi-Fi is available in the pavilion, but if your site is close you can get Wi-Fi from you RV. Cable TV is available but depending on what site you have you may need 150' of cable to connect to it. Not all sites are full hookup. We would stay here again. - jprisbe
Jul 2015 - $43.00
The park doesn't have full hookups for all spots. We were in the drive through at 49 and its just a bad spot due to the inability to extend the awning because of the telephone pole and tree.
Bathrooms for the mens was trashed later in the evenings. The cleaning crew comes in around 9:30am to clean up. From what I understand they are going to demo the bath house and build a new one.
Over all the park is nice and was packed on the 4th of July week that we were their.
It's a quick walk to the beach and to the ferry. Fort Gains is really close as well. Our kids love to play and everyone around watches the kids. Nice facilities for the kids to hang out and be occupied.
You will not get any discounts here I tried Good Sam and they do not accept it.
The other park on the island is extremely small we drove by just to check. - bigredcherokee
Mar 2015 - $40.00
The sites are on the small side and very close together. The power hook up for our neighbors site was on our patio. Most of the park is covered by tall pines and old oak trees. The island itself is very nice with some modern conveniences while maintaining that old Florida village feel. Don't forget you are on an island so come prepared to chill out and relax or drive 50 miles for some enterainment. We would stay here again. - bamawig
Nov 2015 - $15.00
Very quiet and far from amenities. If you want to par 3 golf, fine. If not very little to do and the gravel roads make walking/biking difficult. Lots of humidity and trees make it so shady most of the trailers have mildew. Sounds like there's a shooting range nearby. Had planned to stay for the winter, but changed our minds after a couple of weeks. - FT Newbie
Jun 2015 - $18.00
As others noted, service here not exactly stellar. Owner rarely available, office hours erratic, unreliable. Basic park. WiFi censor ware used to block many regular sites, not to prevent streaming. We accessed You Tube, streamed Netflix fine. - gen_ycamper
Jun 2015 - $28.00
We arrived at the park after 2 PM and the office was closed. Had to call a number which was fine but ended up speaking with a young child and not the owner. Information was being relayed between her and the owner. Not professional at all. Was given site location and told to check in the next day. Site was horrible. Had to back up over the small patio to park and was up hill at that. Was greeted by another person who had a beer and appeared intoxicated. Golf course was in bad shape. Greens were not mowed. Had planned to stay a week. Immediately started looking for another campground. Will not stay here again. - twominds
Jul 2008 - $25.00
Without going into great detail, allow me to merely state that were were treated rudely by the owner/management. The available amenities are in poor repair, the landscaping had been let go badly and the grass was un-mowed. We were infested by sugar ants throughout our stay. This is more of a long-term stay park with lots of mobile homes interspersed among the RVs. The park sites are not level as the park is located on a slope. The office doesn't keep an regular hours. Next time we'd rather drive an extra hour out of our way to avoid this miserable park. Why it is rated by Trailer Life I can't imagine. - oRV
Nov 2007 - $22.00
Although close to Mobile, this is not a campground. It is a full time trailer park with 8 sites for transients. The park is for sale and the owner/manager does not seem interested in renting out overnight spots. In fact, he was downright rude. No restrooms, no facilities and a very narrow road make this a poor choice for an overnight stay in Mobile. We will not return. - lmg
Jun 2007 - $20.00
We were here only 1 night but it was comfortable and nice. - fdr
Mar 2016 - $15.00
While this is a "no frills" kind of campground, we enjoyed our month stay. While the majority of campers here are permanent, it was like it's own little community and everyone welcomed you with a wave. Marlene and Jimmy, the park managers were welcoming, helpful and just really nice folks. There are 3 washers and 3 dryers, a bit expensive at 1.75 each but they were good sized. We used the showers once (last day of stay), they were functional with good pressure and hot water, but while clean, they could definitely use some updating. Great little park for a couple of nights or a couple of weeks. - Outlaw Pilots
Jan 2016 - $25.00
I'm not sure why this park has not received any reviews since 2013, but it is still here and has spots available for daily, weekly, or monthly. We pulled in for two nights and stayed for two weeks. Make sure to ask about weekly rates as they do not advertise them over daily rate. This park is dated, make sure to wear your flipflops to the shower (as we are self-contained, we did not use the showers but we did walk in for a look). There is laundry on-site, we did not use it, but the machines looked to be in okay condition. The wifi was amazing! Our connection was never slow or interrupted. The only thing about this park that I will stress is that it is located in a neighborhood. I would highly recommend that big-rigs take Howell's Ferry Rd and making your turn onto Dover, this will allow you to avoid the low hanging trees through-out the rest of the neighborhood. - FueledbyFreedom
Oct 2013 - $32.00
Manager was friendly and helpful at check-in. They only take checks and cash, no plastic. I just stayed overnight, so didn't check out the full park. Wi-Fi was reliable and moderate speed (I was two spots away from main office). Many of the spaces appeared to be longer-term residents, but the grounds were well-kept and virtually spotless. A convenient, quiet, nice little place for an overnight stop. - FrankTX
Oct 2015 - $38.00
Without a doubt the most wonderful place we have stayed. The campground was fully decorated for Halloween and the train took us through an incredible haunted barn. This is a really special place close to many wonderful attractions. Very clean, very family friendly. They also do a Christmas and Easter display. We highly recommend it! - Ann Saxon
Sep 2015 - $35.00
I wouldn't stay there again! If you want to leave you'll not get a refund. We booked a site then checked it out and found out there are plenty of old trailers where they wanted to put us. Just dirt in the site with very little grass, red ants, and garbage so we left and asked for a refund. They will not give any money back, just a credit! Now if you didn't want to stay why would you want a credit? And bad manager! STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - R Kapela
Apr 2015 - $38.00
good pull thrus. clean.. two railroad rides for kids and family. indoor pool. sort of out of the way but a great park. we stayed two nights so we could go to Tanger Mall. also had strawberry festival in town.. like all festivals things too pricy, but great place under trees downtown. - br549vi
Apr 2014 - $25.00
Generally run down with many permanent residents. We were parked in one of the pull throughs at the front of the park. Tried to dump tanks but had to stop as they were having major problems with the septic system for this area of the park. Don't care to expand on that subject any more than I have to. Lots of noise during the day with traffic coming and going and sirens passing by on the street. Not a park I would recommend staying at. - DennisD
Nov 2012 - $25.00
Staff friendly and helpful. Many large trees. Mostly permanent residents. About a dozen pull through spots up front for pass-through rigs. Gravel pads but all slope up-hill a bit; requiring raising the back end (which I don't like to do on jacks) Wifi is fine. Cable fairly good on local channels but not most cable channels despite their extensive list. 30 amp voltage on the high side, approaching 128-130 volts. - 26Isata
Apr 2012 - $22.00
Not much for what I would call fancy, BUT it was a decent place to hook up and feel fairly safe for the night. Did use laundry room and it was OK. The place seems to need to be kept after, and maintenance brought up, but it was quiet enough and worked out for us. Sewer outlet near rear of space so bring extra sewer hose and only one outlet on each site. Looked to be many long term campers here. It was right off I-10 close to the exit so it is easy to find. - JohnNLinda
Jun 2016 - $22.00
Great place for an overnight stop. It was clean, quiet, friendly staff, and level. Would stay here again. - junmy3
Mar 2016 - $22.00
Very nice, quiet, friendly no-frills campground. Owners very nice and grounds were clean and freshly mowed. Did not give a 10 only because the sites and roads were not paved. About 7 miles from Bellingrath Gardens and not too far off interstate. Perfect lay-over for travelers, as several campers here were. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend.
Lot spacing was nearby with some shade. Site surface was grass and features a picnic table. - Countrygal1
Feb 2016 - $21.00
Park is nice with large, level grass sites and a small pond. Owners are very nice. Full hook-ups. Pull-throughs and back-ins. Quiet. Our biggest issue was NO wifi and no cable - both of which are advertised as existing. We left after one night because we were looking for a place with wifi. If that had been working, we would have stayed longer. - DrM Traveler
Mar 2016 - $22.00
Sites are all spacious with some shade, but are grass with some dirt so can get pretty messy in heavy rain. Roads are very wide, access to the sites is easy. All are backin. Part of park is only 30 amp.
The park is a mix of houses, longterm leased lots and rv sites. The facilities and the park are spotless. There are activites going on every day at the clubhouse and visitors are encouraged to join in. Be sure to go to happy hour.
Very large fields adjacent to the developed area makes ideal dog walking but folks are a little casual about cleaning up.
No WIFI or cable, but AT&T data worked fine and OTA reception was good. We look forward to returning for a longer visit. - bobcovey
Dec 2015 - $18.00
The rate reflects a weekly stay. Rainbow Plantation is an Escapees park. As such you must be an Escapees member to stay here. The sites are spacious and easy to back into. The office staff were friendly and helpful. The area was nice. The laundry facilities were clean, inexpensive, and worked well. There were many permanent residents and long-term guests, but they kept their sites neat. Community meals were held several times per week, as well as other activities. There was a DVD lending library. We were in the minority being below the retirement age. Most guests were diligent about cleaning up after their dogs, but not all were. - Lori and Larry
Dec 2015 - $12.00
The rate reflects the SKP member monthly rate, plus electric. This is the first park we have ever rated a 10. This was our first time to this park and we have already booked for next year. Everyone in this park was so welcoming and there are many, many activities/dinners planned. We felt like family as soon as we arrived. The sites are very spacious and level. The sites are grassy and there were lots of ants around, but I believe this is normal for this area. Good open spaces for satellite reception. Utilities worked very well. Did not use the Tengo WIFI as we have our own. The only thing we could think would be an improvement would be the sites being paved as we were constantly tracking into the camper. - jacknpeg
Jun 2016 - $40.00
We've traveled from Phoenix, AZ for the past 8 days and this was the most expensive campground. It also had the best view and nice tall pines, so it was worth the few extra dollars. No internet, but level site pads for pull-throughs. Full hook-ups made it easy to set up. Would recommend. - Caro
Jan 2016 - $32.00
Rate reflects 15% senior discount given except Sat. Full hookups, free wifi. Easy on and off I-10. Some noise from Mobile Bay Causeway truck traffic, yet mostly quiet. Site #6 offered clear view for satellite signal. No sugar ants this stay because it was so cold. Fishing pier. Good birding. Security gate currently not working. Standup grills. - SunStar203
Jan 2016 - $38.00
Rainy weekend but site drained well with no standing water. Wifi was weak, but Verizon 4G was four bars so hotspot worked well. Staff was friendly and inviting. Bathroom was clean when we arrived. No fire rings, but a grill was mounted in each site. Picnic tables well built and functional. Sits right on the bay with no highway noise from I-10. HD TV received many channels by air; no cable TV available. - ArmyColonel
Mar 2016 - $44.00
We chose this RV park for a month stay in March/April because the photos shown were nice and it was reasonably priced. On arrival we were disappointed in both the size and condition of this park. Only the water sites were worth paying for and they were not available. There was only fishing and it was very very very quiet. Laundry, although free service was located up steps and not conducive to older folks. No pool, or activities offered. We lost our deposit, but moved to a different RV park. The staff was friendly. - WVnewbee
Apr 2015 - $19.00
We stayed for a month from mid-March to mid-April, so our rate reflects the monthly discount. At first look, the fallen foliage, bucket lamps, and handmade signs make the park look a little run down, but once you stay a few nights and realize all the amenities offered, my opinion of the place got better. The wifi signal is strong & fast, you get free cable, the bathhouse and showers are new and clean, and there is free laundry with 3 new HE washers and dryers with very large drums to fit larger loads. By staying for a month, we sat on one regular site and then requested to move to the waterfront when one was available for our final week. Some of the sites do have some space apart from neighbors, others look a little cramped. I found the other campers and snowbirders staying here (sadly, most left first part of April) to be quite friendly. The owners are very welcoming and friendly and available from the on-site house in case of emergencies, which unfortunately we did have to call upon a time or two (got our vehicle buried into sand visiting the beach). The fishing dock seems to be successful for people to catch something and the sunset views are amazing. The location is far from town, but not so far that we feel stranded here. It's actually quite a pleasant drive. :) I work online so Verizon connection is important for me to rate at every campground in case others need the info. I got strong LTE coverage here and cell signal strong as well. However, I was able to relax on my GB usage since the wifi here worked so well (they have 3 networks you can connect to depending on where you're located in the park). - Sara C.
Mar 2014 - $19.00
Very basic park so don't expect a lot of amenities. One of the few places in Gulf Shores where you can park directly on Mobile Bay with 7 sites. Perfect for 5th wheel with rear living. I have stayed here for 3 consecutive years for 30 days in a Class A. - Randy L.
