21 Parks near Dauphin Island, Alabama
May 2015 - $43.00
This is a great campground located in the middle of everything. The owners are super nice and the location is great. There is a bike path that you can go from one end of the island to the other on. Water, Electric, and sewer were fine and the private bathrooms with huge showers were very nice. They rent bikes and have air available to pump up bike tires. We will definitely return here. - jeffs
Mar 2014 - $46.00
Don't let the pictures fool you. This "RV Park" has 12 sites crammed into less than 1 acre. Space between sites may not allow awnings. The hosts are friendly and the beach across the street is wonderful. But, in all honesty, this place should be your choice only if you have no other options. - Rob&Terri
Aug 2013 - $37.00
Very small mom pop park. Level and utilities including Wifi were okay. Beach is across the two lane city street (about 1,000' to water). Would stay here again. There is a restaurant next door that had live music on Friday night that was a little too loud. Depends what you like. Nice laid back small parking lot campground. - Crawdot
Nov 2015 - $36.00
Nice campground. Reminds me of camping at state parks. Wi-Fi is available in the pavilion, but if your site is close you can get Wi-Fi from you RV. Cable TV is available but depending on what site you have you may need 150' of cable to connect to it. Not all sites are full hookup. We would stay here again. - jprisbe
Jul 2015 - $43.00
The park doesn't have full hookups for all spots. We were in the drive through at 49 and its just a bad spot due to the inability to extend the awning because of the telephone pole and tree.
Bathrooms for the mens was trashed later in the evenings. The cleaning crew comes in around 9:30am to clean up. From what I understand they are going to demo the bath house and build a new one.
Over all the park is nice and was packed on the 4th of July week that we were their.
It's a quick walk to the beach and to the ferry. Fort Gains is really close as well. Our kids love to play and everyone around watches the kids. Nice facilities for the kids to hang out and be occupied.
You will not get any discounts here I tried Good Sam and they do not accept it.
The other park on the island is extremely small we drove by just to check. - bigredcherokee
Mar 2015 - $40.00
The sites are on the small side and very close together. The power hook up for our neighbors site was on our patio. Most of the park is covered by tall pines and old oak trees. The island itself is very nice with some modern conveniences while maintaining that old Florida village feel. Don't forget you are on an island so come prepared to chill out and relax or drive 50 miles for some enterainment. We would stay here again. - bamawig
Jan 2016 - $15.00
Very convenient park located about 20 miles south of Mobile and 15 miles from Dauphin Island. It's gated with concrete drives and many concrete pads for back-in and pull-through. We've spent 3 winters at the facility and plan to return next year. Owner will go the extra mile to ensure your satisfaction. Highly recommend the park.
Sites are near to one another but sunny and open with a patio. - gobigred
Mar 2015 - $27.00
The sites are smaller than we were told. Most of the back-ins are concrete and level, but the pull-thrus are unlevel gravel sites with potholes. The laundry is divided into two parts, and you can't go through from one to the other. One has two washers and two dryers. The other has two dryers but only one washer. It looks like they had to send the second one out for repairs. Washers and dryers both cost $1.50. The pool water was green; they obviously hadn't cleaned it. We may return to this area, but we will definitely not stay at this campground. - mrpeepers
Jan 2015 - $0.00
Spent 3 months here in 2014 and returned for another 3 month this year. All main roads are paved as are many of the sites. The owners are very visible and go out of their way in assisting to make your stay a pleasant experience. - gobigred
May 2008 - $26.00
This park appears to be going through some change. The sign at the entrance says Bay Park RV Park. All the literature and the web site says Alabama Port RV Park. Office is an Anchor Realty office. They have approximately 10 new concrete sites that they are listing as RV sites for sale. All of the others are either back in or pull through gravel lots. The lots are level and easy to get into. The bath house is a mess. On the men's side, the toilets are not clean and several do not appear to work. There is one shower that has a curtain and appears to be used somewhat regularly as there are personal bath items left in there permanently. The building appears to be of fairly recent construction and it looks like they just did not finish it nor maintain it. The woman's side is of a similar condition according to my wife. There is an abundance of garbage around the perimeter of the park and the dumpster is overflowing. Park personnel are aware of it as they were mowing the grass close to it today. The park does have potential to be a nice place, but I cannot recommend it in it's current condition. - mwallace61
Mar 2016 - $44.00
We chose this RV park for a month stay in March/April because the photos shown were nice and it was reasonably priced. On arrival we were disappointed in both the size and condition of this park. Only the water sites were worth paying for and they were not available. There was only fishing and it was very very very quiet. Laundry, although free service was located up steps and not conducive to older folks. No pool, or activities offered. We lost our deposit, but moved to a different RV park. The staff was friendly. - WVnewbee
Apr 2015 - $19.00
We stayed for a month from mid-March to mid-April, so our rate reflects the monthly discount. At first look, the fallen foliage, bucket lamps, and handmade signs make the park look a little run down, but once you stay a few nights and realize all the amenities offered, my opinion of the place got better. The wifi signal is strong & fast, you get free cable, the bathhouse and showers are new and clean, and there is free laundry with 3 new HE washers and dryers with very large drums to fit larger loads. By staying for a month, we sat on one regular site and then requested to move to the waterfront when one was available for our final week. Some of the sites do have some space apart from neighbors, others look a little cramped. I found the other campers and snowbirders staying here (sadly, most left first part of April) to be quite friendly. The owners are very welcoming and friendly and available from the on-site house in case of emergencies, which unfortunately we did have to call upon a time or two (got our vehicle buried into sand visiting the beach). The fishing dock seems to be successful for people to catch something and the sunset views are amazing. The location is far from town, but not so far that we feel stranded here. It's actually quite a pleasant drive. :) I work online so Verizon connection is important for me to rate at every campground in case others need the info. I got strong LTE coverage here and cell signal strong as well. However, I was able to relax on my GB usage since the wifi here worked so well (they have 3 networks you can connect to depending on where you're located in the park). - Sara C.
Mar 2014 - $19.00
Very basic park so don't expect a lot of amenities. One of the few places in Gulf Shores where you can park directly on Mobile Bay with 7 sites. Perfect for 5th wheel with rear living. I have stayed here for 3 consecutive years for 30 days in a Class A. - Randy L.
Jun 2016 - $22.00
Great place for an overnight stop. It was clean, quiet, friendly staff, and level. Would stay here again. - junmy3
Mar 2016 - $22.00
Very nice, quiet, friendly no-frills campground. Owners very nice and grounds were clean and freshly mowed. Did not give a 10 only because the sites and roads were not paved. About 7 miles from Bellingrath Gardens and not too far off interstate. Perfect lay-over for travelers, as several campers here were. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend.
Lot spacing was nearby with some shade. Site surface was grass and features a picnic table. - Countrygal1
Feb 2016 - $21.00
Park is nice with large, level grass sites and a small pond. Owners are very nice. Full hook-ups. Pull-throughs and back-ins. Quiet. Our biggest issue was NO wifi and no cable - both of which are advertised as existing. We left after one night because we were looking for a place with wifi. If that had been working, we would have stayed longer. - DrM Traveler
Mar 2012 - $36.00
Awful place, a feeling of creepy sums it up best. We drove in, met owner, and left. Worst park I ever drove into (and out of). Plenty of other parks down the road if you are going to Bellingrath Gardens. - User2407
Jul 2010 - $25.00
Great host who waited up for us to get there after 9:00 at night. Utilities were excellent and the park residents were all quite and friendly. Many workers are here for the oil spill clean up but they were as quiet as church mice getting in and out of the park. You won't find a better good old boy than the man who runs this campground. A fair price and level camp. - JWT
May 2009 - $27.00
This park was very dirty. This park was very trashy. I would not stay here again. The trailers spaces were too close together. - redrose
Feb 2016 - $23.00
We stayed for 2 weeks and paid $322, which included a $12 fee for cable TV. The park has a narrow drive-way, which makes it hard for two vehicles to pass. The roads in the park are asphalt and also narrow. The sites are all grass, hookups are easy to find and easy to connect. The staff was friendly and helpful. On one side of the park is chickens, so you get roosters crowing, and the other side has donkeys, so you get their braying. Even though we like to sleep in, the noise didn't bother. There wasn't much shade, but the price is right. - Bbtj
Nov 2014 - $27.00
This is a clean park. It's quiet except for the braying of the donkeys next door. There are also goats next door, and a small flock of free-range chickens, so expect a few flies. Sites are long, near-level grass. There are some trees but little shade. Each site has a small picnic table. Voltage is good. Roads are narrow asphalt or gravel, in very good condition. The owners are friendly and helpful. WiFi is fairly strong; typical download speed is 30 kB/s, but it's often much slower. Verizon LTE works well. Cable is Mediacom clear QAM digital; the local stations are HD, but the other channels are SD.
There are 2 showers; the dressing areas are very small.
Rate is with Good Sam. - wjzcbn
Aug 2014 - $30.00
Very clean park from the time you come in the drive. The office was closed but the owners came to the door and told us where the open sites were and come back in the morning and pay. The sites are all drive thru and grass. Used the laundry and some work better then others. Quite well kept park. The staff is very helpful. This is a park we would stay again. - PnM
May 2016 - $18.00
Very nice with paved roads and gravel sites. Long back in and very long concrete pull thru sites. On Hwy 90 and 2 miles off I-10. Many towering trees for almost complete canopy of shade. Only a few sites with satellite signals. Cable tv, antenna TV good, no wi-fi. Good cell signal. Nice pool and large on-site fishing pond with walk path. Good on-site restaurant. OK for big rigs. Mostly seasonal rigs but well maintained. Park clean and staff helpful. Will stay there again. - Pepper Dan
May 2016 - $18.00
A very neat and clean campground with mostly spacious sites. Some sites are all concrete, but ours was a level limestone pull-thru with a concrete patio. Entire campground is shaded with lots of huge oak trees and I loved all the squirrels running around. Mostly permanent residents living here, but all campsites are clean, no outside junk, and no real old nor FEMA campers. Friendly neighbors, a nice 12 acre fishing pond, new pool and a restaurant with good food on grounds. Sites did not have picnic tables, BBQ pits nor firepits which we don't use anyway unless grandkids are with us. Did not use laundry or bathhouses, so cannot comment on this. I recommend and will definitely stay here again - but will request to be further away from the noisy, busy highway next time. - Countrygal1
Apr 2016 - $29.00
This was a one night stay. I requested, and received, a pull-through lot. It was tilted hard to one side. There were two large trees, one on either side of the lot. I had to move the trailer a couple of times to clear the trees with the slide outs. The trees were 22" away on one side and 12" on the other.
There was a sewer leak in the lot next door with sewage pooling to the surface. The garbage dumpster was full and had food, trash and other debris all around. It apparently had not been cleaned up for quite some time.
There were two cable connections at the service box. One in a box, one hanging loose. Neither one worked. I complained at the office and the lady working there told me she would have a maintenance man come look at the problem. He never showed up.
The Wi-Fi was not working and during my visit to the office, I asked about that also. I was told that due to all the large oak trees in the park, sometimes it was very hard to get a Wi-Fi signal. The Wi-Fi antenna was on a pole in the lot next to ours so that excuse doesn't work.
The "park" itself has some beautiful trees and there is a lake that we walked our dogs around. But there are a lot of long term residents and some of their trailers are really trashy.
Even though we only stayed overnight, we won't go there again. If you advertise that you have Wi-Fi and cable service, I expect them to work.
I also expect a "RV Resort" to be neat, trimmed and clean. This place was not. - Crabman
Jun 2016 - $36.00
Very small park right on the bay. Only about 21 sites. Very tight spots, but the owner, Jerry, is an expert at backing you up. We had now problem with his help backing our 40 ft. fifth wheel. Great shade trees. Nice dock to watch the sunrise and sunset, or fish. Kids swim right from shore. Wifi is okay and no cable, but get plenty of stations on our antenna. Owners are very helpful. I would only stay here when we return. Looked at the other parks. - User2475
Mar 2016 - $40.00
This is an adult park, no swimming pool, game room, etc. It is meticulously clean and well managed. Quiet and attracts well mannered people. In the winter months it is full of "snow birds" that normally stay the entire season. This is definitely a place to relax... not party. - czkid
Jan 2016 - $37.00
This is a lovely little park tucked away on the bay side of the island, about 15 minutes from town. There are not a lot of sites at the park, and mostly long-term return campers during the winter. We were lucky enough to call ahead and reserve a site for 3 weeks. Many of the sites have a view of the bay, and it is quite a scenic location. Sites were level, and water pressure was good. There was no cable. Internet access was almost non-existent, which is really the only complaint that we have. This is otherwise a very nice park, at a great location, for a reasonable value. The owners are very attentive and friendly, and they keep the park in good condition. The campers are very social here, with a nightly campfire circle and weekly potlucks. We would definitely camp here again. - BluegrassTravelers
